Best Sandwich shop I have been to in Boston, Hoboken, NJ, NYC, Ft Lauderdale, Miami, even Vegas. Don't miss out, go out of your way to pay them a visit!
Good sandwiches
The BEST French Dip sandwich ever! It's too bad I don't live here because this would be my favorite place to eat.
Good but $$$ sandwich
Excellent sandwiches
Justin and his crew make the best sandwiches on the island!! Don't matter what you order everything is super tasty! Brisket/pastrami or chorizo, whatever type you order your in for a treat! What we say in Hawaii when the grindzs is guud? BROKE DA MOUTH!
Ate here for the first time yesterday and it was so good I had to come back today. The French Dip is to die for 11/10 will come back
Very friendly personnel who are proud to be part of the EARL team. Food is great, portions are a little small for the price, but very full of flavor. Long time customer.
This is a fantastic sandwich spot! Tucked in a lot between other businesses, E.A.R.L is a small shop with big flavor and great customer service. I thought about ordering the refreshing caprese sando but then chose the beef brisket sandwich with stout jus instead. This was packed with flavor and although it SEEMED small, I had to enjoy for lunch and dinner. The bread was on point and all the veggies tasted fresh. The beef brisket was tender and made with love. The jus really elevated the favor. My partner ordered the Turkey sando and it came with a really delicious bacon jam. The turkey had mayo mixed in and was like a turkey salad. She also had to eat her sando in two parts. An added bonus was adding a few $ for chips and the fresh raspberry lemonade and passionfruit lemonade. Cashier and cooks were very friendly and even helped pack away the left over food to go. *we took lyft and they dropped us off streetside, we had to walk in toward parking lot and turn right to locate the shop.
Best craft sandwiches! Serious thought went into what you're eating here! Playful, creative combinations. Beer braised brisket is winnahs! The Drew too. Lot parking available but difficult to find during the lunch hours (11am - 12pm) worth the wait. Alternatively there is a lot off Wilhelmina rise for $5 (all day rate). Great way to see the Kaimuki area.
I rank this place #1 on my Chef List, for hot & fresh sandwiches.
This is a really really great sandwich place. It's a little small but they get through the line quickly. It took maybe 5-7 minutes to get our meal. Highly recommended if you enjoy fresh ingredients and dynamic flavor combos. The salad was just ok but The Drew was likely the best sandwich I've had on the island, my wife had similar feedback on The Beet. This is a bit of a drive from my house but I'll definitely be back.
Best sandwiches on the island.
The sandwiches here are first rate!
Best sandwiches this side of...anywhere! All jokes aside, this place is like sex for your tastebuds
Interesting subtle flavors in it's Turkey Jam Sam!
Best sandwiches on da Island!
My delicioso
Awesome sandwiches.
Greal first experience!! The wife and i went there all the way from ewa to try the brisket sandwich and sadly they were sold out but that’s actually good news it just means that it is really good. Well we ended up getting “the cubano” sandwich instead and we didn’t go wrong. Definitely worth the drive. We will be going back tomorrow to try the brisket sandwich. Oh and their sweet tea with a twist of pineapple is delicious as well. Goes down smoothly. I had to get a refill from how good it was!!
This place has some delicious sandwiches and they are always experimenting with new menu items. The owner is really nice and always great to talk to the staff. They are stuck inside that hot, sweaty kitchen so be friendly. I ate here often when i worked a few blocks away. The only negative thing i will say is the seating isn't ideal inside so take your meals to go and sit on the picnic tables in Kaimuki Park.
Really good sandwiches. You won't be disappointed. Service is great. Mike and Justin are really cool
Best sandwiches on the island. Limited seating but worth it to do a take out.
Some of the best, if not the best, sandwiches on Oahu. Excellent customer service every time
Eat where the locals eat. This place was the best meal of my vacation. Everything about the sandwich was perfect, the texture of the toasted bread, the beef brisket melting in you mouth and the ratio of filling to bread. Highly recommended
All the sandwiches are awesome
Simply some of the best food on Oahu. I don't care if it's "just" sandwiches... I've eaten there at least once a week since I discovered this place and I've sampled everything on their menu. Zero qualms about recommending this place to anyone, even die-hard foodies. You will be surprised in the best possible way. Update: nearly two years later and this is still the first place I tell people about when they want to know where the good food is at
Some of the best sandwiches on Oahu!
I've tried everything on the menu (even the vegetarian and vegan sandwiches.) It's the bomb diggity!
Very friendly and tasty sandwiches
Pricy but good.
Possibly the Best Sandwich I've Ever Paid For!-)
Its a hole in the wall but Sooo Onooooo!!! You enter from the paid parking lot, face 11th ave. Its next to Subway and the Pill Box Rx.
(Translated by Google) Seasoning not found in Japan. Man's sandwich. Very juicy and delicious! (Original) 日本にはない味付け。男のサンドウィッチ。とてもジューシーで美味しい!
Love this place everyone I go there! Nothing bad to say about it can't wait for them to expand.
Had an excellent cuban sandwich.
Small little place
Best sandwich shop in Honolulu
One of my favorite sandwich joints. Cool vibe, friendly staff, awesome food, great value!
Delish
Friendly staff, quality ingredients, great sandwiches. The beef brisket is amazing!
The tea is amazing, also the sandwiches are tasty.
Raspberry lemonade with coconut and beer braised brisket.
Good sized Sandwiches! Tasted great! Will be back!
Great service and great sandwiches. It's a mostly to go place as they have about 8 seats but it's unique and a special jewel.
Sliders...bacon Jam...curried yams
About $10 to 14 per sandwich but they are bomb. Beckys sweet tea is nice too... avocado toast is pricey buy worth
Awesome sandwiches and very filling for chunky people. My husband had the French dip sandwich with side of potato salad and I had the Turkey Jam Sam with a side of coleslaw. The sweet tea is flavored with pineapple, and is great. The staff and owner were super friendly.
Small space, big flavors. The beet sandwich was great and the sweet tea was so good, even this southerners liked it!
The sandwiches were really good and I’ll definitely go back. The staff were really friendly and the service was quick. I loved the atmosphere eating by the open window. The prices did seem a little high.
Great food, great service
Great tasting sandwiches with fresh ingredients. Recommended for a quick lunch or something to go
Definitely do a phone order if you are on lunch break. It gets really busy! (25min+ wait) Sandwiches are 10/10 !!
Very friendly staff especially the girl from Navato. Great sandwiches.
True artist sandwich. Brisket is delicious and the turkey ham Sam is also a good choice.
Beer brisket sandwich is savage good!
Strange location but worth the trip. The subs were nice- I ordered the vegetarian one which needed a little more ingredients (mainly lettuce) but still nice and fresh. The wait wasn’t too long, cute little shop. Quite expensive though. Almost $40 Australian for 2 subs
Incredible food. Quick service. Definitely going back!
Messy goodness.
I went in today . I ordered the Beer Braised Brisket. The special which was a pork belly wrapped Hotdog And some kind of watermelon ice drink. That hot dog was so got dang good. The Brisket was good yes not how we do it in the south but for the location that's the best I've had so far. Now the watermelon drink lol I'm black and you know we love watermelon lol I'm just joking. What's life with out humor. I wasn't a huge fan of it it was good but maybe if it had a little sugar or something it would of been perfect but I would recommend this place 5 million times.
Cant go wrong with this place. You might end up ordering multiple sandwiches cuz they all sound so good
Get the Italian. Best sandwich hands down.
Had my first sandwich yesterday. So much flavor! If you're tired of eating fast food or don't like the simple homemade sandwich you slap together at home, this is the place to pick up a really delicious sandwich.
The Beer Braised Brisket Sandwich is AMAZING!
Loved the flavors and the crispness of the bread. Not your everyday sandwich although I would love to eat one everyday.
This is legit! Btw there's no picture of the food because there was no time. My wife and I enjoyed the avocado toast to start, then we destroyed a Beer braised brisket sandwich. You should try everything. I know we will come back to try something again!
Fantastic taste. Eat slow enjoy the sandwich!
High quality sandwiches and always very consistent with the product quality. So many unique and gourmet sandwiches and each one tastes really good
Most perfect sandwiches!
This review has to start with Wow! A sandwich for lunch sounds so boring, but Earl's has found a way to completely turn that expectation around. With a simple menu of a few well put together sandwiches, the restaurant staff has been able to perfect the art, and boy do the results shine! My goat cheese veggie version hit the spot. The ingredients were fresh and plentiful, and each bite burst with flavor. A half sandwich is usually all I need for lunch, but with the combination of goat cheese, tomatoey spread, and crisp veggies, along with bread that could have been fresh from the oven, I had to down it in one sitting. Even more than just providing great eats, the staff were super friendly, greeting, answering questions, and thanking me as if I was some kinda VIP. The whole experience was unusually good and tremendously refreshing.
Earl was great! I got the Italian and I enjoyed every single bite of the sandwich! And the workers are pretty dope. Would recommend!
Great sandwich shop. Friendly staff!
Pretty good sandwich shop. Very small and busy place. Limited menu. I ordered a ham and cheese sandwich for my daughter and they gave us only a fried cheese sandwich. Their attention to detail is not good so I wont be going back.
Damn tasty sandwich. Got the Drew, which was a melty pastrami goodness.
Yummy sandwiches and iced teas
We couldn't have asked for a better dinner sandwich before our Diamond Head Theater experience. Close enough to pick up and take over to the theater and still be toasty and warm. These beasts of a sandwich are more delicious than you can imagine! I'm sorry I don't ever remember to get pictures of them because I want to eat them so badly I always take monster bites and turn them into messes that wouldn't do them justice. I've had the chorizo BLT, Fun Goat, Beets, and The Drew. My favorite is Fun Goat - vegetarian, but filling nonetheless. They do an awesome job adding little details to the sandwich that just make the flavor or textures THAT much better. My husband kept interrupting the performance at Diamon Head Theater to tell me just how much he enjoyed the BLT. He even mentioned it again 3 days later. Can't wait to try the kakaako location.
As a sandwich enthusiast, I have searched far and wide for such an establishment. I only regret finding out about this place right before I moved to the mainland. Do not make the same mistake. Eat there now!
One of the most legit sandwich spots I've been to. I appreciate all that the put into their food
Delicious food really great staff an amazing experience
Sandwiches are awesome. Fresh quality ingredients. Very small place just 4 to 6 stools. Order ahead and get to go. A bit pricey compared to Subway, but the quality it leagues ahead. If you're looking for cheap,z this isn't it, but I can only eat a half, and I love to warm up the leftover in the oven for another meal. So it is very economic. Also get the club card and you get one free after purchasing so many.
I was soo impressed with this place as I explored the island & I had to come back multiple times and it was never a bad choice. The beef brisket sandwich was amazing like a full slab of beef on a bun. The Cuban that was a cheap menu item blew my mind. I mean you won't go wrong giving this place a go.
These sandwiches are amazing! If you're reading this review, stop reading and go get one right now. Your decision has been made.
Every time I come in I'm never disappointed. The food is so fresh and always cooked just right. The sandwiches/salads I have gotten alway has such a unique taste. You won't find this kind of flavor anywhere else but here. Definitely the best sandwich shop in town.
(Translated by Google) I think that there is a volume in the sandwich shop. Side (fried potatoes and pickles) is not attached at all. The price starts at $ 11, but the taste is very good. If you ask for water, it will be free, but if you add $ 3.53 for 3 other teas, you will get potato chips and drinks.
My wife and I were looking for a quick bite to eat on our way to the airport. We happened across this place and we're blown away. I got the Italian, and it rocked my world! Seriously, the sandwich was better than I expected. It is a small little spot, but it has now been added as a place to revisit next time we are here on Oahu.
Super bomb sandwiches.
"Fresh and quick" yummy sandwiches Great selection, freshly made and flavorful sandwiches, I'd recommend take out during the day as it feels toasty inside.
Delicious sandwiches. Pricey but worth it. Super nice staff.
A 4 on the mainland, but Hawaii doesn't have many good sandwich shops. Price is high, but the quality of the sandwiches is worth it.
Amazing!
The BEST sandwich shop you can go to on island. Small inside with eight seats. The food is local and fresh. Made right in front of you. They have meat and Veggie sandwich options with two appetizers and a salad. Drinks include tea or lemonade. Price point around $13 for a sandwich. Check their insta for specials! Call in ahead of time to avoid a wait.
I thought Nashville Chicken sandwich was top tier!!
Yum! Small cute little sandwich place. Friendly staff.
Best Sandwich on Oahu
Garbage
This is our favorite sandwich shop. My favorite is the brisket. The brisket is cooked perfectly and the bread is toasted just right, but what makes this sandwich most delicious is the dipping sauce...sooooooo good. They have a second shop located in Kaka'ako that just opened. It's not quite fully staffed and the menu is limited so it is not as good as the Kaimuki location, yet.
Best sandwiches everrrrrr
The chorizo sandwich was delicious. The lilikoi lemonade was very refreshing.
Excellent food, friendly service, cute but tiny location. The pesto Caesar salad was amazing!!!
GREAT BBQ pork sandwich.
My go to sandwich shop. Brisket is on point.
Went around lunch time and it was a bit busy but after taking a bite, let me tell you, it was worth the wait. I got the Po' Boy - the combination of flavours was unique to other gofo establishments in the area, so that was a nice surprise. The staff was very polite and professional, so that was nice too.
Hidden gem with cheerful service, delicious food, nice store
This is our favorite sandwich shop. My favorite is the brisket. The brisket is cooked perfectly and the bread is toasted just right, but what makes this sandwich most delicious is the dipping sauce...sooooooo good. They have a second shop located in Kaka'ako that just opened. It's not quite fully staffed and the menu is limited so it is not as good as the Kaimuki location.
Best sandwiches ever! Love the cubano before, now made even better with bacon chipotle. Just small, makes it hard to eat in.
Delecious!
E.A.R.L. offers delicious gourmet sandwiches with meat, vegetarian and vegan options with good amount of seating indoors and two outdoor tables. My friend and I tried the Italian and the Braised Brisket with a side of garlic fries and a Lilikoi lemonade. I loved my brisket sandwich -- flavourful and the meat was so soft!
Delicious, monstrous sandwiches for vegetarians and meat lovers alike! While the prices seem a little high for a sandwich, you get plenty for your money's worth and you definitely won't go home hungry. They also have daily specials which are always fun to try but you also can't go wrong with any of their sandwiches or salads they have on the menu regularly. Really looking forward to their new location opening in Kakaako too in early 2019!
Nice sandwiches, poor service- server asks for a tip, and can’t even drag herself a couple of steps to drop the food at your table
"The Drew" Sandwich is so damn good!
Yummy PS sandwich. Good portions of pastrami. bread nice outside crunch warm inside. Need to try French dip next great if they start selling French fries .ie red potatoes, garlic fries .
This is my favorite place to get for lunch. Probably because of the their Turkey Sam Jam. That bacon jam just melts in your mouth good. I wish they could bottle and sell it. We order sandwiches here for meetings through aloha to go. Fairly quick place to get your food and get back to work. The price is reasonable but order a salad and a drink and that can end up to $16 for lunch. I have yet to try their other things but thus is definitely one of the best sandwich places in Kaimuki.
Delicious! We had the French dip and the Drew, but I'm pretty sure any of their sandwiches are great!
Excellent sandwiches. Very little seating.
They have a great selection of creative sandwiches. I plan on coming back for more pretty often.
Great crafted sandwiches, go for the French dip, amazing
Very friendly. Workers pastami. Is great!!
I know what you're thinking: "A Sandwich 'Experience'? Really?" Stop it. Stop thinking that right now. This place IS an experience, and one you need to have if you have the chance. It's pricey, it's a little hard to find, and there is seating inside for *maybe* 10 people sitting shoulder-to-shoulder, but this little sandwich shop is well worth it. My unassuming Pastrami Dip (special of the day) was easily the best sandwich of my life. On top of that, the service was excellent. The guys behind the counter treat you like a favored regular even if it's your first time. Do yourself a favor and go here for lunch sometime. Navigational Tip: Google's street view will show you (and nav will take you to) the back of the complex that this shop is in. You have to enter the complex from further south on 11th Ave. or one of the entrances on 12th Ave. The lot charges for parking but it only cost us $0.75 for the time we spent eating.
Exceptional sandwiches. Hawaii desperately needs a great locally owned sandwich restaurant. This HL hole in the wall more than fills that void.
They do have a friendly staff and their sandwiches are delicious. They claim to have the best Cubano sandwich on island and I believe them after trying it. The Cubano is a must-try. Thank you Earl's
(Translated by Google) You can enjoy a leisurely meal sitting on the counter. (Original) カウンターに座ってのんびりと食事が楽しめます。
Fantastic gourmet sandwiches with umami. This is a popular place. It's not fast food and there's often a line and a wait. But well worth it for an original experience you can't get anywhere else, in any city. The staff is hospitable and if you go there more than once they will probably remember your name.
Excellent sandwiches!! The Drew (pastrami) and the Cubano was awesome.
Sooooo good
It's pretty good, but also pretty expensive for what you get. Menu is very limited, but it's a very small place. The avocado toast is pretty good. It had more avocado than I'd personally like but at least they didn't skimp on it. I wouldn't go out of my way to visit again, but I wouldn't be opposed to eating there again if I was in the area.
I ended up at Earls Sandwich by accident. I was going to another restaurant but was closed for lunch. Anyway I ordered the Beef Brisket Sandwich with Roasted Green Chili. It wasn't what I was expecting. The brisket was all in little pieces. (That's usually from over cooking) I thought it was only okay and not the best sandwich I ever ate. Sorry.
So much umami! This lil sammy spot is on point! Can't wait to go back and try their revised menu
Best sandwich place on Oahu. Great for carnivores and vegetarians!
Hands down the best sandwich place in all of Oahu, we love this place. Absolutely delicious sandwiches and it also helps that the owner and staff are very friendly and helpful. They're very good to their loyal customers and don't forget to get it a frequent buyer stamp card. Our favorite sandwich by far is the Italian.
This place is in the paid parking lot behind Happy Days, Kim Chee etc... It is very small with about 9-10 seats. I ordered the Drew and the spicy caprese. The caprese was a little small but the taste more than made up for it. It is ciabatta bread toasted with spicy butter. Topped with tomato, mozzarella and pesto. Topped with evoo and balsamic reduction. I took the order to go, but it might be better eating in, since the ciabatta would be crispy. The Drew was loaded with pastrami and the other goodies.
We had a really fantastic lunch here, and will definitely will be back. It is a tiny place, so if the seats inside are full, get it to go.
Price is high but the sandwiches are mind blowing!
Nice small place with excellent sandwiches.
Drew was great!
Delicious $14 sandwich
Bread is perfect
Best kept secret in sandwich shops! MY FAV...Avocado toast!
Awesome sandwiches, but they need a Fan or something for the customer waiting area. Its extremely hot but worth it for the food.
I love their turkey jam sam and theur goat veggie sandwich. But this time i got the cubano. It is not pressed as I am accustomed to. Otherwise I love this place!
Best sandwich on the Island
Best sandwich I have ever had! I had the braised brisket and my husband had the cubano and we also added on the special which were hot spicy peppers for $1. The meat was so tender and well seasoned. All the toppings complimented each sandwich perfectly. The customer service was great as well. Despite being busy, the staff was courteous and attentive to our needs and even asked how we enjoyed our meal. I also appreciate how they wrap up your sandwich for you if you cannot finish your meal. Price was also not bad. 10 out of 5 stars!!
Well being named Earl meant when I discovered the E.A.R.L. I had to visit. The name stands for Eat a Real Lunch. The turkey jam sam was very tasty lunch for sure which was about all that was left when I got there at 2 pm. My advice is get there early before everything else sells out. I would not hesitate to return when back on Oahu.
Great local spot for sandwiches. Great service. Hard to decide. But all made to order and perfection.
