Ordered the arepa , it was 4:27, it was lukewarm. Asked the guy if they could make one said it would take 30 mins because they were frozen. I was shocked because I thought they made fresh Latin food. Got it, the cheese wasn't melted even after it was warmed in a microwave. The arepa was small and tasteless. I don't believe this represents Latin cuisine . It would be nice of they were actually cooked and made in store like an authentic bakerym

Everything was amazing as usual! We ordered the short rib soup, arepa, and tamales. The tamales was stuffed with chicken and pork and was good enough for 2 people. Great quality!! LOVE THIS PLACE :)

Ordered take out/delivery had a steak sandwich that comes with fries..... was charged $32.98 ... ridiculous, plus I waited about an hour 90 minutes. First sandwich had caramelized onions which was salty. So they brought me another one , only replaced sandwich & it was HORRIBLE!!!!!! I asked for simply lettuce tomatoes & onions , I got salty onions a tomato wedge on a sandwich (go figure) and a whole piece of romaine lettuce... very unprofessional, you would think that I'd get shredded lettuce, sliced tomato and shaved onion. The meat on sandwich. Was very very thin, I mean looks as if there using steak meat for philly cheese sandwiches..., that's NOT a steak sandwich especially down here in S Florida..... oh well live and learn, not the place to go eat at or have takeout......,,

Terrible service. As a former restaurant manager I understand mistakes happen sometimes. But the way they handled it really makes me not want to order from this place again. I received chicken that was not cooked properly. When you took a bite it sounded like taking a bite off a carrot. I am too pissed off right now to write about the rest of this experience. La bandeja paisa I ordered was on point though.

What a gem! Seriously delicious food. I can't remember the names of the dishes I ordered but they all were soooooo good. The waitress was helpful with and allowed us to substitute things. The place is small and so you can barely see it from the road(441). I am glad I happen to look over and see it. I will definitely be going back. Oh and there was a young girl playing a violin which was cool. I may not remember the names of the dishes but I do have pics.....check this out

I placed an order to pickup the lady on the phone barely speak English to make the story short I finally ordered my food. I got there to pick it up no one acknowledged me I told them that I placed an order to go the guy grabbed one of the bags dumped it on the counter then the second one he got the drinks and I asked him if I can have more salsa he said almost screaming at me already put seven of little containers in the bag I said okay but I need more I’ll pay for it he walked away I stood there waiting to pay no one seems to care finally I asked the lady if she can cash me out and I asked for salsa and straw she threw it in the bag. I asked if the owner is in she said he only comes on Monday and Friday. I spent $78 and got the worst customer service on top of that, they forgot to put the meat in both of my soups what’s in it was just potatoes, plantain, one small piece of corn and a lot of liquid for $16. I was upset but there’s nothing I can do I’m already home. I WILL NEVER GO BACK TO THIS PLACE EVER! They don’t even deserve one star!

First of all, the staff at this restaurant are incredibly rude and inconsiderate. Our waitress had a nasty attitude from the beginning and barked at us to “sit wherever we want” when we asked to get a table. The food was oily and the waitress told us they didn’t have hot sauce for us, and then she brought hot sauce out for another person. It took forever for us to get the food, and the waitress never checked in on us. Only when she brought the check did she constantly check on us and rush us to pay, even though we were finishing a drink. This was the WORST experience we’ve ever had at a restaurant, and I will never go back to El Balcón De Las America’s nor recommend anybody I come in contact with to go. Terrible service, terrible attitudes and terrible food. I’m disgusted by the way they stereotyped and treated us

Nathaly was a great server. It’s clean with good prices. I was thrilled to see liver on the menu. Grilled with onions and cooked tomato wedges in top. Delicious. Unfortunately I filled up on the excellent Mango with milk liquado (shake). Unfortunately the Sancocho (Columbian soup/stew) is listed for weekends.

El balcón de las Américas has always been a really good place to have a nice home cooked meal. Most of the time these restaurants are known by word of mouth and this one was no different now a day we use electronics to do this so go ahead and try this place it really good start with the churrasco if you have never had Colombian food or if you are bold then go all out with the bandeja paisa. Either way you won't regret it

In response to your comment , of course I called the restaurant right away my major concern is that people might get sick , as we explained someone should check the quality of the food and ensure is fresh ....this food was terrible and old ! hope you put the quality in place to prevent this from happening again... but for me and my family we would rather go to another restaurant.. too risky

This restaurant has definitely changed over the years but for the better. I used to dread coming to this restaurant because the service is what us Colombians say "pésimo", everyone from the waitor to chef always had some sort of attitude or just unhappy. My family and I stopped coming; however, five years later when my husband first arrived to the US he wanted Colombian food and he said how amazing Balcon de las Américas was. We all couldn't believe it, so let's just say after 5 years we keep coming and everything is just perfect! I definitely recommend this restaurant to all.
