Have yet to have a bad experience here. Can't say their menu is the best graphically designed as it can be hard to really hone in on specific meals and what they entail but the food is better than most BBQ places. Since the remodel the inside looks beautiful and is kept clean; which improves the experience.

Brisket was a little lean for my blood but the wifey liked it. Burnt ends were tasty, and the vinegar sauce was spot on. I will go back to try the ribs the next time. Careful squeezing the sauce!

If your looking for some really good BBQ. This is the place you should check out. If your ever in West Haven CT. You should definitely hit up uncle Willie's. I love the burnt end and Mac and cheese. Make sure you put on your GPS you might drive right passed it.

Brisket was tender, but lacked flavor. The bun it was served on was good. Mac and cheese was dry. I may revisit this place to give a more fair assessment. The staff was pleasant. It just reminded me too much of fast food, not real bbq.

Amazing service and the best BBQ in CT. The beef brisket and burnt ends/Mac& cheese are my favorite --with the 50/50 sauce it's a perfect pair. Home style cooking and food made with love! You can't go wrong with any thing you order. Beef, Chicken,Pork ...it's all cooked and prepared to perfection. In my opinion, the West Haven Location is better than the Seymour one. But Uncle Willie's is a staple in my household.

Hamburger $6.99 is actually tasty. However either the cook can't read or he doesn't follow directions. Something told me to chk my order before leaving, glad I did so this visit I will rate Uncle Willie's three stars.

I used to go to Memphis a lot and I've eaten some of the best ribs there and Uncle Willies ribs cut against those. They are extremely tender and the wood smoke is dope. I combined the sweet and spicy sauce because both were fabulous. Will return.

Over the past few years, this BBQ place has slipped in both quality and value. The ribs and burnt ends dinners we ordered were tasty, but not served hot. While a Luke warm dish would normally be awful, the flavorful prep of the meat made it ok. The coleslaw was spot on, and the sweet potato apple combo was also delicious. This place is not fancy, and has plenty of napkins (paper towels) to keep you clean. The place is right off I95, so it's easy to get to. Not as good as it had been years ago, it's still worth a visit.

Did not get the BBQ got hot dogs. The roll were more than a day old. The hot dog was anorexic. The reason for the two stars was for the service the guy at the counter was awesome. Note if you approach or leave this place from the wrong you take your life at risk.

This place has gotten better over time. The lunch deals are awesome. I come here a few times a month. The quality is consistently good. Can't get enough of their fries. I hope they fix their soda machine. I'm a fan of the Pineapple flavor

Three of us stopped in today at Uncle Willie's. We each had a two meat combo. The price was about eighteen $. Between us we had the baby back ribs, pulled pork and beef brisket. All were wonderful. The coleslaw was an amazing treat very different than anywhere I've been. All the sauces were homemade and they had sauces from the major BBQ regions. South Carolina vinegar, sweet and hot together, hot and sweet separately and a mustard sauce. They had a sauce for every taste. Baked beans were very rich tasting and very balanced. Among the choice of cold drinks was a locally made cola. Much better than Coke in my opinion. A big BBQ chain was down the street and it's ok, you know what your gonna get there. Willie's has something a bit special and it's one of a kind. I like that!

Speaking as a local and repeat customer, all I can honestly say is Uncle Willie's is some good eatin'. The prices are somewhat reasonable, the portions are generous, and you'll never leave hungry. Great atmosphere on top of the good food. EDIT: Closed during the winter of 2018, under new ownership with a different business model according to a New Haven Register article.

I only liked the sweet and hot chili sauce for my wings and garlic parm, I tried Bourbon, honey barbecue not a fan, not bad but wasn't to my liking, they give the sauces to you in separate container. Chicken is fried plain and with just the perfect amount of crispy. Had a brisket sandwich needs more flavor. Juices and sodas are without high corn fructose so that's a plus.

Never been here before... I thought I ordered a beef brisket sandwich, with extra meat... Total is $11. They bring out my tray of food, and it was just pulled pork, cornbread, and slaw. It was really, really good... Figured I made a mistake while ordering... And then they brought out the sandwich! Had to wrap it to go, and that doesn't happen often! I'll be back!

The worst I've ever had. The chopped bbq comes with nasty bbq sauce on the side, the mac n cheese is disgusting. Mac n cheese in a box taste better than that cap. Cole slaw looks a veggie salad. The only thing I can say was good in my meal was the mash potatoes. This place deserves 2 thumbs down and I can get food in a whole in the wall that's weigh better and cheaper. Never again I will eat there ever and recommend no one else does. But if u want to try it anyways don't say I never said so lol

This cozy BBQ joint is generously getting a 3 rating because at least the Kansas City style ribs were decent, the staff was friendly, and the pig theme décor was cute. As for the rest of the meal experience, however, I was quite disappointed. The chicken was extremely dry and even the slathered BBQ sauce couldn't help. The mac'n cheese tasted like out of a box leftovers, the Calorina baked beans were burnt, and the cornbread tasted like stale cardboard. Most of the fountain drinks had "Out Of Order" signs leaving only lemonade, tea, and some no name flavored sodas. Other reviews made this place seem promising so perhaps we just caught these guys on an off-night.

My favorite bbq in the area. Pulled pork is spot on, as are the burnt ends. Sides are very good too. A tad pricey but you get what you pay for in quality. Highly recommend.

Best BBQ I've ever had, and I've been to Franklin BBQ, in Austin, TX, supposedly the world's best, and waited in line for 4 hours for lunch. I'd still take Uncle Willie's over them. (And Franklin was incredible, too.) I just love the sweet sauce here. The meat is always perfect, pulled chicken and pork, brisket and ribs. It's delicious. I'm getting hungry writing the review.
