Went there while working. I get the atmosphere, but the service was very slow. The food came out, it was palatable at best. One person in my group had a bunch of shells in his eggs. This was brought up to the server, they did take the order off his ticket, however, this should not happen at all. Will not be going back there.

The restaurant needs to refresh the look and have a smaller menu. Food was ok, drinking glasses smelled like fish. Lettuce a little wilted. It should be remodeled and add steak cooked to order to the menu. Not slow cooked meats all day. Food could be fresher. Place wasn't crowded at peak dinner hour, yet it took a while for our food to arrive. Food wasn't hot. And fries smelled like fish.

Great breakfast spot. Wait staff is friendly but their personality is a little bland. Lighting is dim. Decor is old style hobby like. Food is very fair price and tastes amazing. Try the fried shrimp platter. Huge portions. You can buy Nick Backs if you are coming out of town. Atm on site. Parking is free, easy access off of West Main street.

Nice big building still little easy to miss if your not paying attention. Ate dinner here. The service was good meal came out fairly quick. My Chicken with the lemon pepper was seasoned a touch to much but it was still good. Pleased with the atmosphere country style. Lots to choose from on the menu. All looked and sounded delicious. Home cooked just like mom or your Granny would have done. This is another place I would stop by again when in the area.

Having eaten at Olde Tymes many times over the past 20 plus years, I was very, very, disappointed with my meal on the night of August 1st, 2018. I ordered Liver and Onions, medium rare, my two sides were, mashed potatoes and gravy, and spinach. When I got my meal, I cut into the liver only to find it cooked beyond well done. My waiter was right on top of things, took my plate back to the kitchen and returned with a fresh plate about the same time as my dinner guest finished his meal. The liver I was served the second time was closer to medium well than medium rare, but by this time, I just wanted to eat and leave. I found the liver to be completely laced with gristle, terrible, over cooked. I had also ordered bacon, I was given 2 nice slices with the first plate, but only 1 with the second. The whole experience was very disappointing. I will definitely rethink my options before eating there again. On a positive note, my waiter, John, was kind, polite, and professional, very nice guy.

Perfectly cooked poached eggs. Very flavorful Rye toast. A new server Taylor , was a delight. The cost for poached eggs, rye toast, baked apples and coffee was extremely reasonable. It'll be interesting to go back there for dinner.

Old Tymes is a Norwich staple, for breakfast. They have this cinnamon apple crisp French toast dish that i've had in the past, it's divine. I enjoyed their California scramble on my most recent visit. Service has always been prompt and friendly. However, the times I have visited for meals other than breakfast (over the past 10-15 years) I've found the food to be mediocre: dry (meat), bland (sides) or soggy (fries). Thus, I don't go for other meals anymore, and only recommend breakfast.

Food is always good. On this occasion we enjoyed breakfast. I had the hearty breakfast and my wife had the biscuits and gravy. Both were excellent! My wife raved about her meal so I sampled it was also pleased with the flavor. The waitress was prompt, courteous and attentive. The restaurant has an old style ambience and is very comfortable and homey. My only negative observation concerns the restroom which was too cold on this day and in need of restoration!

Johnny Appleseed Omelet is the only reason I go there. It is fantastic. The staff is friendly, seems pretty clean. Also they give you a big urn of coffee for the table which makes me feel pretty special. It's like "ordering a bottle for the table," and I sit back and think how far I have come in this world to be able to do that.

Everyone who works here is friendly. The food is awesome. There are choices for all. The vegetarian can get plenty to eat. The 2 that are gluten free have choices. I had the grilled seafood trio and they were so good! Our server even remembered us and our special dietary needs our don needs and went above and beyond!

Got a little 2 person booth by a window. Server was friendly, and food was good. We served our drinks in mason jars which was a nice touch. They have a little store inside that sells nick nacks. They also served lunch and dinner until 4pm.

A quick glance shows the facility is in need of maintenance and has been for several years. Prices are OK. We won't be going back. There are better options locally...

Decided to stop in and try something new this morning. Went with the Olde Tymes Benedict and even though I'm not a huge fan of eggsBenedict, I was not disappointed. The menu describes it as "Our variation on a classic. 2 eggs, over easy, are on top of broccoli and ham on a grilled English muffin and topped with Bearnaise sauce. Served with your choice of 1 breakfast side dish." That description only does it justice as a factual explanation of what the meal is. You can't put a taste on a menu, otherwise this item would be a huge hit. For a price of $8.99, figured I couldn't go wrong. The ham and broccoli were nice twists, and over easy eggs instead of poached was a huge deciding factor in going with this choice for me. I would seriously recommend for anyone who doesn't traditionally enjoy a benedict because it really isn't traditional. The Bearnaise sauce is so much better than Hollandaise sauce and the whole meal has such a great flavor together. The texture of a grill English muffin is an extraordinary compliment to the dish. It's a must try and one of my new favorites!!!

The service was okay, but the food was very bland. Their home fries have no seasoning and if you ask for toast they might forget to bring it. I ordered biscuits and they never brought them; but I also never got charged for them. Their tables were very sticky and if you get seated on the second floor it is going to be very hot. I personally am not going back.

We will never go back to Olde Tymes again after the cold food we received on our last visit! When asked how our meal was I stated to the host that I have been coming to Olde Tymes since Rodney opened and I have NEVER been so disappointed with my meal! The host simply stated that he wasn't surprised and never even apologized. Sorry Rodney but your kitchen staff and wait staff are a far cry from what you had!

I could give them a four star but had some problems with unpleasant staff. Rude hostess, but I will say this, my next visit that same hostess had a much better attitude and we could tell she had been given a talking to. It will take a few more visits before I can go back to a four star rating. Food is almost always good. Love the chefs, and some of the waitresses treat us like friends. Love them too

Extremely disappointing experience! I made reservations 10 days before Father’s Day, hoping to avoid crowds & make it easier for my father who has mobility issues. When we arrived, after trying to get someone’s attention for a good 5-10 minutes, we were told they do not take reservations. There was never an apology or asked to put our name on a list. Luckily we found a friendly, prompt restaurant close by with great food-turned our for the best! Olde Tymes has never served food to rave about but after this terrible customer service I will never bring my business here.

The sides and appetizers were good and one person ordered shrimp which was very good. The waitress was very attentive and apoligized for not having the prime rib...not her fault...

First time here, oh my gosh if you are craving fresh, comfort food, generous portions and great pricing, you have to try it. Charming old house adds to the relaxed experience. Service was excellent, too! I had been fasting for 24 hours for a medical procedure and the baked scrod, mashed potatoes and stuffing were the cure!

I grew up coming to this place and I haven't been since I've been young so wanted to try it again. I would give them more stars but hard when only two waitresses for the entire restaurant. Those women were busting their butts off but when I needed something they were helping another table. Totally not their fault, but I should be able to get what I need without a very lengthy wait. The food was cooked exactly as I had ordered. I ate the whole meal so it was good. The only thing was totally under staffed. I also had to go ask for a box and try to find some one to get my check. Literally everyone was busy and told the hostess. Finally I got both items and had to wait to pay for my check because now the hostess was gone. Other than that had a good dinner.

Lousy wait staff....wrong order bought back to table,,acts like it’s the customer fault... hard time trying to get a refill on drinks,,when the right food came was cold no offer to heat up or fix the problem,,,was more interested on what was going on with the other waitstaff .. will not go back or recommend.

An added bonus is that his pricing is super reasonable, and he uses all environmentally-friendly supplies! He was also very good with our dog (who's usually very afraid of people using machines). It’s a hit or miss with the food. I was told my breakfast was made the night before and sat in the fridge all night... it was smoked salmon. Don’t get tea unless you want it with dust. Don’t sit by the windows, the area is worn down and dirty. A “New Times” is needed.

We went next door for the music and drinks after dinner. Good local place for a good meal with lots of choices on the menu.

Great meal! Unique decor! Friendly staff! We love this place. A local, one of a kind. Rustic style decorated with old sewing machines and other early to mid-20th-century items. Entrees come with 3 sides! And wide variety. I had a baked sweet potato. My entree was a good-sized baked seafood platter. The waiter had a tough, almost comical time remembering my friend's beer, be we took it in stride since the whole experience was so positive.

The food was pretty yummy. Their fish and chips are great. If you go skip the lobster roll it had very little meat and was mostly just lettuce. It really was nothing special. I was very let down as a lobster roll lover. This was our second time and the second time the waitress never got us refills. As a former waitress to me this is unacceptable. Drinks should always be available. It was not busy in the least there were 2 waitresses and a hostess and may be 5 tables. While the food was amazing the wait staff could use some help. The kids meals are a really good size and much cheaper than most places. 3.49 and free on Tuesdays.

This place has a reputation extending way back and is still a favourite for the locals and now, even some of the Casino traffic. The inside is very rustic looking to give it that old time look and the service is great. Breakfast is served all day and lunch and dinner is great as well.
