I went to a wedding for my neighbors daughter in May 2019. The wedding at the chapel in the back was absolutely beautiful. Everything went smoothly and the atmosphere was superb. The reception in the main area had great food, good bar and certainly was large enough. A few individuals who were serving during the reception need some coaching to improve the experience!

Went for a wedding and it was a standard venue for reception. the chapel out back is a gorgeous setting, however. The bar was OK, not great beer selections though. A big thing I think they need to figure out is the entrance to a wedding reception. We had a huge line out the building as they funneled everyone into a small corner to get our place cards and meal options. It was just poorly executed and meant I spent 30 minutes in line instead of socializing at the reception.

I absolutely cannot believe how badly the waitstaff are treated. If you thought the waitstaff get gratuity as it shows on the contracts online...YOU ARE WRONG. These servers only get paid 10.70 an hour to do EVERYTHING. That is absolutely horrible and I can not support a business that does not appreciate its employees. Shame on you Marty. If you plan on booking a party here give the waitstaff a cash tip instead so that they ACTUALLY get the gratuity for working so hard. No wonder some reviews are saying they were rude. I would be too working my a** off all night for $80 ... Absolutely disgusting.

Mahan's Lakeview offers great venue for any event. From the amazing chapel where you can have a wonderful ceremony in front of the big arch windows to the nicely situated restaurant just few steps away. It overseas the beautiful garden with gazebo as well as the whole surrounding area giving you the privacy that you would want. The staff is very professional and would take care for everything you would possibly need.Greatly recommend!

Mahan's was a lifelong dream wedding venue for me, as I had attended 8 weddings there in the past! We booked Mahan's in July of 2017 for our October 2018 wedding. Everything looked beautiful. Fast forward to the middle of July of 2018, we had a meeting to make our final payment with Marty at 6:00p which he showed up for at 6:45p - and meant we had 45 minutes to look around. The place was a disaster. They had apparently not landscaped for the season, and the property was a gigantic safety hazard. I took about 50 photos of broken stairs, poorly manicured landscape, cracks in walls, water damaged ceilings, broken glass from past weddings, non-working fountain, garbage and more. He was somewhat apologetic, but condescendingly assured us that they would fix everything before our wedding (10 weeks away). I spoke to two offices in town regarding fire and safety and was told that if there were any violations, they could be shut down at any time. Even on our wedding day. Needless to say, we were forced to find another venue - and lost our deposit, which I'm sure they needed... we had to send out new invitations, hire new vendors (since Mahan's included DJ, cake, etc.). This place used to be the DREAM and now has turned into an insanely overpriced mess. I'd be more than happy to share all of these photos with anyone who would like to see them. Moral of the store is, if you have a budget of $150 per person, save your money and go ANYWHERE else. The reviews don't lie! They are washed up, and clearly can't maintain a venue that was once amazing.

My daughter’s recent wedding was outstanding thanks to Marty and Nadine....all details exquisitely handled, food was excellent and everyone was amazingly helpful. Cannot say enough good things about the venue or the staff. Best place in CT for a wedding!!

Beautiful place. Great friendly staff. The entrees were really bad though. I didn't like the prime rib but my dog did.
