We've been fans of Bailey's Backyard since we discovered the restaurant over a year ago. This time we invited some friends of ours to dinner and Bailey's did not disappoint. From the unique menu featuring local ingredients, to the creative combinations of food that excite your palate, Bailey's is constantly going above and beyond to be creative, and it works! Our friends were very happy that we introduced them to Bailey's and, as Arnold Schwarzenegger famously said, "I'll be back!" :)

This is a special restaurant. Six of us had dinner there last weekend and the food was amazing. We ordered several appetizers that melted in my mouth. The taste was vibrant and the food was fresh. My main dish, the short ribs, were the best I ever tasted. The staff are friendly and attentive. It feels like eating at home. Very special.

Very cool little place tucked on a side street of Ridgefield. Modern yet homey decor and food to match. Traditional favorites are transformed by fresh, local ingredients and a very talented chef. For example, my lunch club sandwich had fresh baked grain bread, roasted turkey (not deli turkey) and thick smoked bacon with a tasty side of salad - the best club I've ever had. My friends enjoyed their lunch too. Service was excellent. Some of the main lunch entrees were on the pricey side but overall, this place is a winner and I'll be back to try lunch soon.

Unfortunately, I do not think the price our party paid for food is worth the flavor and dining experience we got out. Of the six total dished we ordered, most of them had major flaws. 1. The tofu scrammble was made with mixed veggies and red miso. Red miso is the most rugged and pungent of all types of miso. The presence of red miso in this dish was overpowering making the tofu taste sour and too salty. Moreover, it left a very unsatisfying "fermented" taste in my mouth after each bite. 2. The vegetable panini was fairly good; the bread was toasted really well with a subtle char and satisfying crunch. But there was too much vegetable volume in the sandwhich which ended up making it hard to eat and a bit soggy. The vegetables were also a little undercooked which left it tasting a bit raw. 3. The Burger was great. My brother, who ordered it said it was good! but who can really mess up a burger? 4. The eggs benedict with lobster was flawed as well. The english muffin was not toasted enough and slightly freezer burned, and they got very soggy. The lobster was outstanding, but stood out by itself. 5. The chickpea and Cauliflower soup was also very good. It's poured over a small garnish of diced apples and pine nuts which enhance it's texture wile eating. There was also a small hint of truffle oil (which I hate, but that doesn't mean it's not an objectively good dish). 6. Finally, the butternut squash soup. This was also outstanding! It was presented with the apples and pine nuts like the other soup, and had such good flavor. Every taste was balanced and every spoonful was amazing. That being said, a $130 meal for four should be outstanding across the board. The soups, as good as they were, had an abismally small portion size which I personally think is not worth 12$. Overall, I do not recommend this place, especially if you are on a budget, but if you decide to go here, there are a few dishes that are definitely worthwhile. This restaurant gets very good reviews, so I hope I have sufficed my arguments as to why I did not enjoy it as much.

Nicely decorated restaurant where I had high expectations based upon a friend's reviews of farm to table, but alas, I was very disappointed. Like recent reviews stated, the food is over salted. The staff is very friendly and service is OK. However, when having a tasting menu with wine, you have the wine poured before you receive the food, not five minutes later. The wines are just good, but need better selections to compliment the foods - I was dining with a sommelier who questioned the white wine with mushrooms instead of a Pinot Noir. Unfortunately, I will not be going back. (I should have taken the waiter's advice and not ordered the mushroom mess - mousse!)

Appetizers was so salty and less in amount considering the price that I was thirsty all night and felt sick. main course sword fish -was like leather--may be forced thawed. Not recommending.

My favorite restaurant in the area. Only place I can count on finding vegetarian food that had effort in its creation. Never a simple pasta or plate of veggies here. Have had vegetarian meatloaf, vegan Bolognese, and many curries. Soup is always outstanding. Good for kids.

Food was not tasty. Home fries especially. Ate it all because we were very very very hungry. Mimosa was so-so Menu didn't say that the bib salad had breaded egg on it. The amount of blue cheese they brought with the salad was thumbnail size, ridiculous. They completely forgot about my child's crayons. She got upset because of it. Also, prices for brunch were ridiculous. Especially considering the fact that the food was not enjoyable.

Our most frequented restaurant in Ridgefield. Phenomenal farm to table food and tremendous service, especially Seth Rogan (aka Kyle). I've read negative reviews online and these people seem to paint a picture in their mind and expect everything to look just like that. My family and i have been there 10-15 times over the 2 years we've lived in Ridgefield. The service has NEVER been anything but spectacular. I haven't loved every dish but that's my taste-buds, not on the cook, as other people at my table have enjoyed the same meal. If you're looking for a pretentious, stuffy place to gloat about yourself, turn away. If you're looking for a delicious meal where you are treated like family, you must try Bailey's!

I made one if the best detours of my "restaurant life" on yesterday evening! I was headed to another restaurant, when I saw Bailey's Backyard. The carrot & roasted ginger soup "wowed" me with it's smooth texture and just right flavor. The Amish Chicken with grits and sauteed kale felt like I was eating a meal cooked at Grandmommy's kitchen. The"coffee" and donuts dessert were an absolute culinary treat from the kitchen which brought my mind back to my favorite donut shop, but with an artistic flare ( tasted even better the next day ). I must mention how the Tempranillo was served perfectly slightly chilled. Wonderful service! Many thanks to Chef Forest and my waiter Todd. I will return soon. Please keep up the excellent work!

Okay, you looked at the menu and thought 1) its looks awesome and 2) it looks pricey, then you looked at the reviews and they were all fabulous, and that pretty much sums it up. Bailey's is farm-to-table, incredibly selections, incredible flavors, incredible service. Nice decor, not too large or loud, and everything from the octopus appetizer to the brick chicken is well thought out and executed. There is nothing on the menu that won't give you a tongue orgasm...a torgasm. Throw caution to the wind, forget its deservedly on the pricier side, and make a reservation because it is always packed.
