They did a wonderful job for my sisters bridal shower. The brunch was delicious and so were the drinks. Everyone was very nice and informative when it came to planning the shower, and made it a rewarding process. I was married September 2013, less than a year after my engagement, the "task" of wedding planning can be overwhelming at times. The staff at Amarante's took a lot of the pressure off by offering a variety of options and worked with our budget. We did not feel pressured at all and once we made this decision, everything else just kind of feel into place. We were married on the grounds and had the cocktail reception outdoors at sunset overlooking the water. The rest of the evening was spent in the ballroom, which continues to provide excellent food and service. It is March now and we are still receiving compliments on our wedding! It was such a carefree experience choosing Amarante's and they truly help make it your own, which I think I was every bride wants.

I planned a retirement party for a colleague at Amarante'sii and was so happy with the outcome. The food was great, the decor was beautiful, has a lovely view of the sound, beautiful large deck. During the planning they were so friendly and easy to work with. During the party the staff working the event were friendly and attentive but at the same time were unobtrusive. All the attendees raved about the party and when those planning my retirement party & asked where I would like to have it, of course I requested Amarante's and they didn't disappoint.

I went to a Ladies' Night event, and I have to say, I had a wonderful time. The weather did not cooperate, but Amarante's let the crowd into their ballroom to keep the party going. - Nice! I thought I was speaking to a manager, and I gave her some feedback from someone I know who had attended Ladies' Night weeks earlier. I have to say, the owner is truly decent and cares about her business and listened to all comments - thank you so much! The crowd is testimony to Anarante's, and there were even some children here - Amarante's is very welcoming. The service was very good. The food is good. The views are second to none. I look forward to going back again. Absolutely wonderful venue.

It doesn't cost anything to get in . It's open Mon thru Wed. It's always packed. If u don't come ur missing out. !!

Fantastic views! I come here every time I participate at the annual fundraiser for a charity, Cooking for Casa event. I participate as a restaurant vendor, I get to used their kitchen to prepare some of the food for the event. So I know first hand how their kitchen looks like. It is sparkling clean!

Beautiful spot for an event venue! The water view is about as pretty as New Haven gets, the space itself is classy, and the catering service has good food options. We enjoyed a recent lunch buffet. Parking can be a bit tight if there is a large event or two events going on, otherwise highly recommended.

Wonderful and attentive staff, beautiful scenery both outside and inside. The food was great and everyone had a great time. A year after our wedding and our family and friends are still talking about how great everything was, and one friend even said "I want to get married in a place like this!" We picked this venue also because we were planning an outside wedding but also wanted to be prepared for an elegant inside wedding, which the ballroom had full potential to still be beautiful (luckily it was a beautiful and clear day!)

We got married last night on July 3rd, 2019. If i could give this place 10 stars I would. If you’re looking for an intimate, beautiful venue by the water to have a summer wedding, DO NOT HESITATE to look at amarantes. The staff is AMAZING. They set up our room PERFECTLY. Molly and Grace were so sweet and easy to work with throughout planning. DARLENE was our matre’d and I couldn’t have asked for a sweeter more attentive person for the job. She made the whole night run smoothly and perfect and was there at any moment you needed her. COCKTAIL HOUR out on the deck is BEAUTIFUL. You couldn’t ask for a better view or sunset!! You do not think you are in new haven! You can go out on the deck all night long. The food is SO GOOD and we got to take so much of it home. These people know how to do weddings. I’m so happy we picked it for our special day! We cannot thank Amarantes enough for being the most perfect venue on the CT shoreline!!

We just had an event at Amarante's last night, and I overheard more compliments about Amarante's than I have about any other venue. Amarante's could not have been more wonderful! From booking our event with Molly, the wonderful events contact person, to the actual event itself with Darlene (so very most gracious and hospitable!! She and her excellent staff not only anticipated our every need and made the whole occasion just seamlessly beautiful, but she kept in constant communication with me throughout the whole event in the most positive and beneficial way!!) our experience was only the most delightful and joyous one!! The room was beautiful, the views incredible, and the food was absolutely amazing!! It was very nice. We had our christmas party here. The food was definitely good. Drinks were also good. The staff and waiters were very kind and friendly. No flaws to be honest. I wish we were there during day to see the water while we ate but then again it was dinner at 7pm. I'd recommend them.

Had the office holiday party here and it's a beautiful location on the water. Pretty much the standard fare for a catered event. They combine multiple parties together in the same room and it's a pretty good time. Excellent bartenders... ;-)

I had my husbands 40th birthday party here in 2012. Planning was a breeze. We did open bar and tapas. The food was more than plenty. We used the larger room with the deck. It was a GREAT party and I would do it again! I highly recommend.

I was so excited to go to this wedding. The pictures from the website look beautiful. Unfortunately I would not recommend this place to anyone. First of all when you pull in there is barely any parking!!! It was a 250 person wedding with about 30 parking spots! and very tight spots i might add. Our elderly grandparents had to walk down a road just to get to this place. The outside was pretty but they had us stand on this outside deck while it was raining. The weather was very cool and some people wanted to go inside but were getting yelled at by the staff everyone has to stay outside. In a sleeveless dress with it windy and sprinkling was not fun. None of the wait staff knew what any of the appetizers were or what was in them. Which made it difficult because some people couldn't have dairy including myself. I have never in my life experienced the most rude unprofessional wait staff in my life. At on point the gentleman in charge yelled at the children for dancing on the dance floor!! Mind you it took them over 2 hours to serve salad and the main course. No kids under 12 are going to sit that long. Then he at one point didn't like where my purse was and literally KICKED it under the table spilling out my ID and camera. Then started yelling at the wait staff in front of everyone. The staff was also rude and also almost hit my grandmother with their serving trays 3 times. And was yelling behind her MOVE! Why.....?? because they put 250 people in a room for 150 so there was nowhere to stand. It was so claustrophobic. After the 3 hour mark we were just ready to get out of there..

We had our engagement party here. The place is beautiful and clean. We chose food from the menu provided and specifically stated my fiancé is vegetarian. The day of the event the rice had meat after we requested no meat in the rice. And the meat was pork which was more insulting since my fiancée is Muslim. The pasta was very dry and flavorless. The chicken was hard. The filet of sole was good. Needless to say my fiancée and I left our engagement party hungry and had to buy dinner after spending thousands of dollars at the venue for food. The staff was organized and nice until they insisted the count was higher than what it actually was. So we were charged for people who weren’t there and had 6 huge trays of food to take home which proved the their count was off. I sent feedback to the company for our experience and received no response. The feedback wasn’t to receive a refund but acknowledging the error and an apology would have been nice !!!

I had my wedding at Amarante's July 2019. The venue was gorgeous inside and out, the scene for pictures was gorgeous as it overlooked the water, and the food was good. The staff was also responsive and flexible. I was very happy about those points. I would have given them 5 stars. However, the reasons I've only given 3 are below: 1) The entree delivery on the day of the event was very late. Noticeably so. I advise that you either urge them to serve the entree on time or schedule your event in such a way that your order of events is not dependent on the timing of the food service. Amarante's extended our event end time by 15 mins to their credit. 2) People received very poor drink services during the main reception. Some background- Our guests comprised of a large number of non-alcohol drinkers. We were informed a few days before that the soft drinks & juice would be served at the bar, and not brought to the table. I found this strange and inquired as to how the guests would know soft drinks & juice would be served at the bar, since normally, only alcoholic beverages are served at the bar (or at least that would be my guests understanding). Grace, the owner at Amarante's assured me that the servers would inform guests at the table that there are free soft drinks and juice at the bar. So, of course, we paid for that option. But on the day of the event, most guests only had water to drink with their entrees, as the guests were not informed about soft drinks and juice at the bar. This of course, made me upset, as I wanted my guests to feel well taken care of and entertained with more than just water during the main reception. 3) More upsetting was that when I informed the owner (1 week after my wedding) about my concerns, she denied that the food service was delayed. With regards to the drinks, her words were 'your guests should have known that there were drinks at the bar.' This came as a shock, because I specifically informed her that my guests WOULD NOT intuitively know this, thus, my prior expressed need to have the servers inform them since they were not serving drinks at the table. She also implied that I did not have the right to give her the feedback about the late food service and drinks since every other thing went well. Given that we paid in full for the services, I felt that her response to me lacked integrity and professionalism. I was not asking for a refund, and a simple acknowledgement and apology would have been ideal My advice- If you have a large teetotal (non-alcohol drinking) crowd like we did and you want to provide them with a variety of non-alcoholic dink options, I suggest that you either insist on Amarante's serving your guests their drinks at their tables or have your master of ceremony announce that drinks are available at the bar. Do not rely on the servers to duly inform your guests about their drink options or where to get them.

Amarante's was everything I wanted in an wedding venue. From the moment we walked in to discuss options, to the end of our actual wedding day, the staff at Amarante's handled every, single detail with ease. They were so helpful with the planning process, and dealing with all my picky wedding guest eaters (thank you!). On our wedding day, we had an assigned employee who ensured that my husband and I were taken care of at every moment. It was really something that I did not expect and was pleasantly surprised by. She ensured we took time to eat, and to drink, and absolutely anything we needed was immediately taken care of. It is apparent at Amarante's that they care about every single wedding or event that comes through their doors and treat each group with the attention they deserve.

Me and my husband got married here in May 2018 and it was amazing!! Gorgeous venue, an incredible staff and great food! In the months leading up to our wedding, the staff answered all our questions and addressed any concerns we had in a timely and professional way. Everyone we interacted with was so kind and helpful (Dawn, Grace and Darlene to name just a few). The staff had all our details well organized and well planned out, so our wedding and reception flowed so smoothly. They were also very accommodating for handicapped guests. It was absolutely an amazing and beautiful day! Our guests still cannot stop raving about how "perfect" everything was. You cannot get better than perfect, and it was incredible. The empanadas were amazing! But, I can easily say that about all the food. I just say that specifically about the empanadas because they were worth every extra penny. Everything we tried was so delicious! From the fresh food at the cocktail hour to dessert, it was a culinary delight for the taste buds. The service staff that I encountered, including the bartender, were professional and did a wonderful job. My friend was very impressed she was able to get her dirty martini and thought it was one of the best ones she had ever tasted. That reminds me: the red and peach sangrias. I almost did not do the signature drinks, and I am so glad I did. They were the best sangrias, I've ever tried. Finally, I saved the best for last: Ivan, headwaiter. He was wonderful! I feel like I meet very few people, who are doing what they love, and I definitely felt like Ivan loves his job. Even to the smallest detail, like having my favorite drink waiting on the sweetheart table for me, when we walked in (which I know is thanks to Dawn's meticulously note taking too), he had the night covered. I have to admit, it takes a lot to impressed me, and Ivan not only impressed but exceeded any and all of my expectations. Aramante's has an amazing team that made our night spectacular!

From start to finish, booking an event here was a great experience. The owner helped us and a few other staff members and every single person was great and went over the top to make sure my baby shower was a success. The day of the event the staff was sure to make me feel like I did not need to do anything, but have a good time. The waitress was by far amazing and went above to make sure I felt comfortable and happy. I could not ask to have my event at a better place. Not to mention how clean, updated and pretty the place was! The location is also everything and more! The views were incredible and better than any other place I checked out.

I will start by saying that our guests loved the wedding venue and especially the food during cocktail hour. As with most weddings the bride and groom are taking photos during cocktail hour and one would expect food to be served to the people who paid for said food. That was not our experience! We were not brought a single appetizer during cocktail hour nor was our wedding party. During the planning of our weeding we were excited about all of the appetizer options and looking forward to trying them but were never given the chance. Overall the place was beautiful, my dinner was delicious but it was extremely disappointing to pay so much money and not even have tasted one item during our cocktail hour
