REVIEWS OF Zucca IN Colorado

WQ Family

Farm to table restaurant with very fresh food (organic where possible) crafted into very flavorful dishes and a nice wine list. Everyone in the family (child included) enjoyed their meal.

Jessica Broderick

I took my parents here to eat based on the ratings. The food was terrible as was the service. The calamari was chewy, the pasta was salty, and nothing was fresh. Very disappointed, I would not recommend this place to anyone.

Christopher Bosi

Great food, small portions. More of a bistro than a restaurant.

Tiffany Lee

We've dined her twice and the experience has been so pleasant. Our servers have been great and the manager Matt is awesome! Oh and the food...... try the porkchop, you won't be disappointed!

Rowena Freebury

Love their happy hours... not crowded and good food: pizza, garlic knots, meatballs!

Valerie Eastman

Excellent from start to finish. The food was delicious and fresh. Everyone on staff was friendly, and the atmosphere was cozy and inviting. Reviews stated it was expensive, so I prepared for that- however, I didn't find it to be more expensive than similar restaurants at all. The food, service, and ambience are of much higher quality at Zucca than at chain restaurants. I will definitely be back.

Jordyn Dewey

Had a fabulous date night and we were so pleased that we brought my parents back to show how good it was. Really great dishes, the bread is absolutely amazing, and great wine choices.

Rebecca Mooney

Our new favorite Italian place to eat! My husbands salmon was cooked perfectly and my gnocchi was spot on with a nice sauce. The interior of the place is cozy and has beautiful Italian style decor. The recommended red wine blend from the lady working at the bar was also a winner. Next time I go back I'll have to see if they serve aperol spritzes...favorite drink in Italy!

Cody Kennedy

Randy dawn was great

Incredible food and service, always! Risotto balls are a must have!

Rose Masny

Food was bad. Waiter took order and never saw him again until he dropped check on table. Had to request another drink at that point. Not once even asked how was food. Portions also very small Nothing like a NY Italian resturant! Zucca should be ashamed of themselves!

Raymond Mendoza

This is a great place! The food is so delightful. We are coming back for sure.

Beth Blair

The cheese ravioli with lamb sausage and the garlic knots were divine! Very good service.

Meg Regan

Cozy restaurant serving Italian food and wine. My favorites are the Bolognese and rustica pasta dishes.

We decided to eat dinner at the bar. The waiter did not address us for at least 5 mins, despite the fact there were no others at the bar, at that time. He then took my drink order, and returned 5 minutes later and asked what I wanted to drink? Service from there went down hill as patrons came in to sit at the bar that the bartender knew. They were waited on before us, time now at about 15-20 min. He continued to wait on them and service to us was minimum. He topped both of the other parties glass of wine off, while my wine and my husbands beer sat empty. Needless to say we won't be back, and there was NO TIP LEFT.

Keith Pieper

Pretty average. As a Three Leaf Concepts restaurant we expected poor service and that's what we got.

Sadly, I can only give this restaurant a 1 star....We ate at Zucca last night. We were lucky to have Rich as our waiter. He was very very good at recommending a wine that was so yummy, and telling us about the dishes that were his favorites. On his recommendation, we ordered the Mahi Mahi atop of polenta, and the lamb pasta dish. For starters, we had the calamari and caprese salad. The calamari was tasty, although a bit salty for our tastes. But the Caprese salad was a big disappointment. Now, if an Italian restaurant can't do a decent Caprese salad, something is wrong! The tomato was tasteless, and well, in January, one might dismiss that. But the mozzarella cheese was dry and chalky, there was no tasty balsalmic dressing, and they substituted dry basil for most of the basil! There was a leaf of fresh basil torn into six miniscule pieces scattered, but wow, dry and absolutely tasteless. The entrees were a further disappointment! In my mind, I pictured a Mahi steak or fillet, but instead there was a very meager 3 bite portion of fish. It tasted as though it was spoiled. The first bite I dismissed it, thinking it was an odd tasting tomato reduction sauce. But when I had my husband taste it, he thought it was awful too! Just then Rich, our waiter walked up and asked how things tasted, and I had to tell him that I thought the fish was a bit "off". He told me that the table next to us had sent back a dish , and that there was a substitute chef working. I was too shy to complain further and the wine made it better! I didn't taste my husband's lamb/pasta dish although he said it was just so-so. When one spends a lot of money on a dinner, it should be a pleasant experience to say the least, and other than having a good waiter, it was not a dining experience i'd want to repeat.

Farm to table. Great food, great service, great ambiance. A favorite!

Expensive for small portions, food was okay. There's better Italian in town. The ravioli appetizer barely had any filling and were dry. The tiramisu wasn't soaked much.

The menu changes every season. It is the most authentic Italian restaurant I know. Not too expensive either

Michael Pavlich

Excellent patio, service was amazing. Only small issue was the portions were on the smaller side for the price but they made up for it by how good the food tasted.

Abigail Guildner

Delicious food. Decent service. Good happy hour.

Amazing!!!

Duck was very good. Wine selection is good but pricing is unreasonable.

Paul Campbell

Just a little place but the food is spectacular. Tried the lamb fettuccine and was really impressed. The olive oil was hands down the best I've ever had. Tiramisu for dessert was light and flavourful. Will definitely be back!

We just had our entire wedding reception at Zucca, and it was simply fantastic! Matthew was wonderful to work with as we planned this event for 72 people. The big event went smoothly, even better we had hoped. We thought they really stepped up their game to make things even better than they normally are (and we eat there a lot because we think it's so good!). We had put together a schedule and they followed it to a tee. The staff was wonderfully pleasant and attentive. The food for 72 people was all delivered together, and it was well presented and delicious. A couple of folks changed their minds on what they wanted to eat (from the pre-orders) and staff graciously cooked brand new entrees for them at no additional cost to us. People were actually exclaiming how fantastic the food was, and we had a wide range of entrees. The steaks were huge and perfectly cooked, the cherry glazed salmon was delectible and perfectly cooked, and the other pasta and vegetarian dishes were flavorful and beautiful. The space itself worked well for the reception, with the bar for apps and drinks, then the main dining room for dinner and dancing after, plus the patio if people wanted to escape for a bit. We were thrilled with our reception and continue to love Zucca. We'll be back often!

Great food and friendly staff. The garlic knots and calamari were great. The salmon entree was very nicely done. I also had the chocolate torte which was excellent.

Beautiful restaurant, impeccable service, great menu & wine list. Steve, our waiter is very savvy about wine & food pairings. The short rib papperdal was tender & perfect & the cannoli were heavenly for dessert. Zucca is another star in Old Towne Louisville!

David Nolan

The service at Zucca was amazing. Steve took excellent care of us and really made this an excellent night. We ordered the Caprese as an appetizer which was outstanding, fresh and perfectly balanced. Our main courses were the Branzini and Chicken Picattaz which were very tasty, though a little richly seasoned. The panchetta was outstanding for dessert. Overall an excellent dining experience that we will repeat.

I won't claim that I could tell that the ingredients were fresh, local, and organic. I will report that the root vegetable soup was awesome, as was the pear panini. Great service during late lunch on a Tuesday, and the bar has got me tempted to return some evening.

Took the family to Zucca for dinner this weekend. Got there early enough to enjoy some happy hour specials—good deals on drinks and small plates. I had the zucchini polenta parmesan, which was fine, but a bit underwhelming; the flavors didn't really seem to meld, although they were all good on their own. Husband had the penne ala vodka rustica with sausage and it was excellent—our toddler couldn't get enough of it. Tartufo dessert is fun, and their ricotta cheesecake was unusual and delicious. Nice wine list.

Can't reccomend this place strongly enough, the staff are very friendly and attentive, the food is on point and ambience is perfect! A definite must hit in the Louisville area!

Zucca is our favorite restaurant. We are consistently thrilled with the delicious food, courteous and attentive staff, and lovely atmosphere. Their happy hour offerings are the best around, their wine selection is excellent, and we are welcomed with a gracious and pleasant staff every time.

Ambiance nice, food okay enough. The wait staff however needs training on how to be less obtrusive. My table of two people clearly having deep conversation was interrupted every few minutes by, for example, the guy bringing calamari who had way too much to say. We ended up asking a busser to inform our waiter that we would beckon him over when needed, but to give us some private time. But he came over, unwelcomly, anyway and wanted to refill our 3/4 full water glasses! This place seemed like a good location to have an intimate conversation, but the wait staff ruined it.

My husband and I had a wonderful experience. It truly has that family owned feel, very warm and welcoming. The decor is beautiful and classy. Our waiter was excellent and gave great recommendations. We started with the Brussels which were amazing. My husband ordered the gnocchi with rosemary pork, which our waiter recommended and it was outstanding. I ordered the meatballs and zucchini soup which was great. The waiter gave a great and knowledgeable wine recommendation. After the meal the owner came by and checked in on us. Overall very impressed with the food, atmosphere, and , service. I would recommend it and will be coming back next time we are in the area.

Six of us and a two-year old on Mother's Day, 2013. It was PACKED and if it weren't for perfect weather, I don't know where the crowd outside would have gone. Even with reservations for 6:30 we had to wait until 6:45 - I guess people just don't want to leave the wonderful TRULY authentic atmosphere. Having returned from Italy recently, I consider myself a good judge (plus, having had a grandmother from Abruzzi helps). It was as good or better than anything in Rome, Florence, Sorrento, Milan, etc. if not better. The service (Rose was our waitress) was excellent and she was snowed with tables. The 8-cheese mastaciolli was incredible, and my salmon with fennel was perfect, the chicken amazing - yes, I tasted everyone's choice - all excellent. A great restaurant with a great menu. PS They even have cream Limoncello and Prosecco!!!!

Way to ruin Valentine's Day. We showed up early with only a few couple there to beat the rush. Our waitress did not bring us bread, handed a lit candle to my 2 year old, our food came way later than couple that arrived 30 minutes after us, and I like all dente pasta but not uncooked pasta. Then when we asked for our check and desserts to go she brought the check but 10 mins later brought our desserts on plates telling us it is faster that way. Never going back!

Zucca has potential. Appetizers were outstanding (calamari and roasted califlower), salad was good (not Lucky Pie great, tho), hubs seafood plate was good, the chef special of Opa was sent back! It literally STANK when it was brought to the table---how the heck does THAT happen?? They also tried to bill us for the dinner 4 months after we visited. WHA....??? That is seriously messed up! Main dining room is SUPER LOUD--desperately in need of baffles or acoustic tiles. Staff was beautifully adorned but pretty overwhelmed. Brought other people's food to our table three times, didn't know how to handle food being sent back.

This restaurant was once excellent, but I was very disappointed with my recent dining experience. The staff and atmosphere were wonderful, but the food was sub-par. My husband and I both had pasta dishes and the pasta was clumped together to the point of needing a knife to saw through it. It was like the fresh pasta was all just thrown into the pot in a lump. Also, the vodka pasta that I got used to come with a nice piece of sausage on top. Now the sausage is chopped up to a much smaller portion and was overcooked. So much for our favorite Italian restaurant...

The polenta with shrimp was so delicious! This is a charming restaurant with wonderful ambiance. The wine list is off the charts-85 bottles to select from. Don't miss it when you are visiting Louisville, CO!

Emily Sacco

Wow. Dining at Zucca is really an experience. Tonight was my second time there and everything was just perfect. I got the shrimp scampi and my husband (who is 100% Italian) ordered the lamb. We were both extremely happy with our meals, wine and dessert. Our server, April was simply marvelous. You couldn't ask for a better Italian restaurant experience - sincerely! I will definitely be returning soon. Thank you Zucca for an amazing experience! I will sing your praises for all eternity. ** I also want to note I see in A LOT of other comments saying the pasta was under cooked. My pasta was cooked perfectly al dente and I've spent a lot of time in Italy and I felt everything was very on point. If you are looking for American family style Italian you may be happier down the street.

John C. Bruccolieri

Love their home-made Pasta Bolognese; just as good as what I've had back East.

This place is amazing on so many levels! The food is always fresh and exceptional. They have a great HH and take reservations which is awesome so you have a table when you arrive. By far the best Italian food in the area. Every item is fresh and well put together. Service is attentive and friendly. Great place

Jennifer Powell

We went here once or twice before the renovation and the food was really good. We just went again, and found the food lackluster. The menu items didn't really seem to go together, the drinks were kind of bland, and we just weren't blown away by anything. Just another overpriced Italian place. Not sure if they got a new chef with the reno but I'm not sure if we'll be coming back to Zucca, with so many other great restaurants to give our business to...

Myrna Johnson

Mixed reviews of this restaurant in my party. The waiter was great. The happy hour selections were very good (try the olives with lemon zest), though it would have been good to have silverware with them so you can share at a table. The entrees were salty. Most were good anyway. The environment is quite nice and the sound level was low enough that we could have a conversation across the table.

Great service and fabulous food. I love it when a restraunt makes their own pasta and bread - and ensures that those "basics" are stand-out awesome!

Julie Sefcik

We’re new to the area and have never been here before; seemed like a nice place to try and we were excited about our order. After waiting over an hour for our entrees (with a 4 year old), we asked to just pay for what we’d already received. We were given the bill with our entrees still on it, and were told our entrees were “up next” and our “order had been put in behind a large party.” We told them we didn’t receive the entrees so they revised the bill as such, rightfully. They gave us a taramiso to go, but it was all too little too late at that point. I don’t entirely blame our Server, but it was just bad service all around. Again, first time trying the place...and we won’t be back. Very disappointing.

We recently used Zucca as the space for our small (20 people) wedding rehearsal dinner. We coordinated everything with Matthew beforehand, and everything was absolutely perfect. He was easy to get a hold of, friendly, and immensely good at what he does. We had a private room off the main dining area where the doors were able to be closed when we did the toasts, which was great. The food was amazing (as always), and the service was impeccable. Steve was our main server, but everyone else who helped was great too. It is not easy serving that big of a party, but they handled it so smoothly, and made us feel truly taken care of. Everyone got to order what they wanted because we were able to have the full menu, and they still got everyone's food out at the same time. Matthew even helped us order the champagne we wanted. I cannot give Zucca enough praise and thanks for helping make our night so special. Would recommend hands down for any event or just a fantastic dinner.

We (unfortunately) only had drinks and appetizers at Zucca. But the service was absolutely incredible (we had a very attentive server, and the manager visited our table multiple times). The food was fantastic and the wine/drink selection is wonderful. After we left, my boyfriend asked when we could return to enjoy a full dinner. :) Highly recommended, and honestly, I have not have had service to rave about in a very, very long time. Well done!

It was our first time going, and we waited 3 minutes before the hostess even greet us. Then it took another 5-10 minutes to be seated. No bread (someone brought the bread after we received our dinner and brought it to their attention). Waiter seemed very busy with his other tables, but still didnt clear the plates. The gnocchi was lackluster. My family is Italian and that was not gnocchi. The polenta was good though. They gave us the gnocchi for free as well as a dessert (had to send the gnocchi back, and we don't send meals back). Ended up with the ravioli and it was decent enough. For the dessert, we chose the chocolate chip cannoli. My mother had a coffee (didnt bring out a spoon with the coffee for her milk, so she had to swish it around in her coffee mug because we couldn't get the waiter's attention), but they brought 2 spoons for the 2 cannoli. However, the cannoli was horrid. It tasted like it had been carbonized with berries and then tossed in with some ricotta just to call it a cannoli. It was inedible. I believe, and hope, it was because the chef's aerosol gun wasn't working properly. Overall, the service needs improvement. The staff was very apologetic for all the mishaps, but the mistakes seemed to be continual with no improvement throughout the evening. It was an expensive meal for disappointing food.

Barbara W

Good food but felt pretentious, like they were trying too hard.

Prashanth Mannar

Small menu, good food with ingredients from a local organic farm.

Janet Parker

We spent over $100 for three adults and the food was way below our expectations. Even though the service was excellent, the best part of the meal were the garlic knots, which are excellent. The spaghetti was very bland and disappointing; the chicken marsala was good, but had a piece of chicken full of nothing but fat; the calamari was very chewy; and, we didn't care for the sausage. Wish we had gone to the local brewery for a less expensive, better tasting meal.

Nicole s

I give this restaurant 5 stars because it is my favorite restaurant in the area and it never lets me down. I come here with friends, bring my family for special occasions, and even had our work Christmas dinner-party here (thank you Jessica for your toil and arrangement in this occasion). The staff are always very accomodating and friendly and the atmosphere is quaint and just lovely! Zucca's provide an excellent happy hour menu with specialy drinks, which are delicous, and our family and friends love the variety the menu offers. I also want to add that we came for a late dinner on Easter Sunday for my son's birthday (we were the last to leave) and we did not feel rushed or feel any resentment from the staff. My son really wanted to try lamb for the first time and of course Zucca's had it on the menu and made this to perfection...my son loved it! The desserts are amazing and coming to Zucca's always makes for a special and memorable time!! So THANK YOU to the entire Zucca staff, you are GRAND!!!

For the price of the dinner menu the food is not that good. The linguine al'pescatore tasted like it was made with canned tomatoes. That isn't necessarily a bad thing if cooked correctly but it was very watery and bland. The real kicker was that with the two tiny pieces of bread we were only brought olive oil. We had to flag down the waiter to get balsamic vinaigrette and they did not have crushed black pepper. Overall unimpressed and will not be returning.

Charles Marquez

OMG! We just happened on this place. Everything was outstanding. The bolognese was best ever. Large pieces of flavorful meat and perfect al dented pasta. Our server was attentive without bothersome. Cozy and romantic. Can't wait to return.

Chuck Hess

I know that it is very hard to find good and proper Italian in the USA, but this place was simply not good. I ordered the Guanciale Bolognese with Burrata. I can tell you that whatever meat was in my dish was not guanciale - it tasted like crappy slow-cooked pork. The burrata was not fresh. The service was okay. The atmosphere was like a cheesy take on an old stone Italian restaurant. I will not be returning to Zucca.

Allen Walbert

Sheila L

We were in last night and were put in the bar area at a high top. It was obvious they were short staffed at the bar and the manager stepped up to serve us and take our order. The food was OK but the place was stingy and sneaky. We are 2 adults that shared a salad as an appetizer and then each ordered a main entree with wine. When we got the bill the salad was $3 more than it was listed. Turns out out they opted to sneakily roll a share plate fee into the salad. This was after the manager (admittedly) completely screwed up my entire entree order (which wasn't modified either). Having worked in the serving industry for over a decade around the country, I fully understand the concept of the shared plate fee, I also know that most restaurants above Denny's caliber don't pull that card out for adults ordering full entrees of their own with cocktails and simply choose to order another one to share as a starter. And it certainly isn't used when the house majorly messed up one of those entrees. Very cheap and stingy Zucca.

Randi Savage

Consistent good food. Wait staff a bit spacey, forgot items. Gluten free bread option is sandwich bread. With this day and age, i am sure they could do better finding/making an italian bread.

Love the atmosphere. Service was delightful. I wanted the flank steak and was pleased with the portion size. Our waitress said it was too small and the chef was putting more on the grill for me. I am 6'2" and 195. I had to take a doggie bag home.

Great happy hour and service. Minus one star because inconsistent quality in dishes; sometimes you get 5 fries, sometimes they're overflowing. Sometimes you get a doughier pizza crust, sometimes it's like a saltine. But, still I love it.

Ashlee F

Yum food! It is slightly more expensive then a "random" week night dinner but well worth it.
