Bomb pizza, bomb burgers, bomb breakfast all day(until 2:30pm). You cant go wrong. Unless you forget to save room for dessert. Make sure to save room for dessert!! They have a changing dessert menu, but everything on it is good! I have never had something I didnt like here!

Big fun for all!!! Brussels with bacon, Hawaiian 'za and watermelon chicken salad. Buttermilk fried chicken sand with local bacon. Thai steak salad (I subbed prawns). Sweet potato fries. Meat loaf was meh. Coffee shake was nicely sweet. Wonder what kind of coffee syrup they use. Yummy.

First time here, had a great meal with great service! Would recommend the Smoked Salmon Crepe with a side of sourdough toast for a wonderful brunch. Will definitely be back.

Waited 15 minutes for a server to show up. Then many of the side orders didn't arrive and took until the end of the meal to come out. Some food cold. Smell of burnt toast filled the air a couple of times. Has apparently undergone a lot of changes recently - all for the bad. Food and coffee was decent.

It didn't look like much from the outside...I was in town for a meeting and drove by while out looking for some dessert & swung in the next night for dinner. I had the meatloaf and have to say, it was almost better than my mom's! Almost! Very good food, great staff, reasonable prices, definitely recommend!

Cool, lively open atmosphere with a visible kitchen. The food is quite good. I ordered the salmon which was cooled perfectly. Calimari appetizer was also good...a huge plate! Friendly server.

Toast has many options to choose from. The food is consistently good and they serve big portions. There is usually wait on the weekends. Took away one star because the price is steep. Spent $22 for a scramble and coffee.

I got scrambled eggs with bacon and potatoes. The potatoes were tasty, but everything else was a disappointment. The scrambled eggs tasted like they were from a carton of precooked, and the bacon was way underdone. The bathroom was also not cleaned well, and this was at 9am. The service was friendly though.

I've visited Novato four times and eaten here three. Its a lovely place to relax and eat. Very family friendly-saw several happy children. Service is informal but efficient. The lamb burger was amazing! The mahi mahi was well seasoned and not overcooked. Seriously good lunch salads. Local beer on tap. Reasonable prices. Go check it out!

The corned beef hash is made from scratch. Loved it. The beef is mild and allows you to taste and enjoy the vegetables. The hash is hardy pieces of pan fried potatoes. The whole thing is topped with 2 eggs your way. This meal will stick to your ribs and keep you going all day!

it's ok says it all. really nice outdoor setting with great relaxing atmosphere. server was great. unfortunately when it came to food this place didn't really deliver. ordered crape with mushrooms. it was hastily prepared, oily and filling ingredients were just thrown in and not well prepared. no special sauce or flavour.... maybe other dishes disappoint less....

Great service during a morning breakfast stop. We only had 30 minutes and let our waitress know that, and she was very mindful of the limited time we had. With only a few tables occupied, the service was very quick. Portions are decent, it's what you would expect for a $15 breakfast plate. Split the corned beef hash with a friend and boxed up the rest. They use real corned beef (as opposed to the ground meat version). Scrambled eggs were cooked well-done although I'm sure you could request otherwise, if desired. If only the WiFi worked better, I'd stop by for breakfast more often!

It really wasn't that great. The hollandaise sauce was bland. But, what killed me more than anything was the hostess. The room was half empty; she puts a couple in the table behind us so that this really big guy bumps into my husband's chair every time he moved. Really? You have a whole empty restaurant and you can't skip a table? We won't be back. McDonald's is just around the corner. We expect that there!

Swing and a miss. For years Toast has been consistently adequate. I always hope for more and I’m usually disappointed. Today was the final straw - Sunday Brunch, sat at the bar, waited 35 minutes for our food and it arrived; huevos rancheros that were pretty good and would have been better warmer. The fried buttermilk chicken sandwich was a little bitty piece, fried to near incineration and too tough to eat ... dumped into the garbage. Waste of time, money and effort. I’m over it. They only do good business because they are the only choice near that shopping plaza. Food looks good. Looks aren’t good enough.

After many repeated experiences with poor service and now one where the kitchen gave us back the exact same food after sending it back due to contamination from a food allergy — down grading to one star. Toast used to be so good and it’s disappointing to see a local Novato restaurant go downhill.

When we first showed up the hostess informed us that the kitchen was backed up so there was a 15 minute wait to sit down so the kitchen could catch up with the guests (half the place was empty seats already). She also informed us that after sittin down there would be another 30-40min wait to order food. Just to clarify this was on July 4th for lunch... but there wasn't a rush at the restaurant nor did they seem understaffed, and even if they were understaffed I mean, July 4th happens every year so they should've been over staffed for the fact that there might be a rush. Also we were informed that a few things on their menu were actually out, mind you we also showed up around 11am. Regardless, indeed the wait for food was definitely around 40minutes, and I do appreciate the honesty of the staff. The decor is pretty cool, the walls look like toast. I just wish the kitchen staff knew what they were doing.

had to ask host stand to send a waitress to our table after 15 min of no service. waitress assigned to our table did not care about providing good customer service at all.such a shame because the chefs are working so hard and they do their job so well, but the rest of the crew does not seem to share that same sense of service. i do not recommend at all. there are way better places to go.

Service was slow and not busy at the time but the cook served a great platter. I wish I could have just tipped the cook. I ordered a lemonade with mint in got lemonade with a lot of ice and I had to go to the bar to get a pinch of mint That was supposed to be served by the waitress. I think the waitresses just need more training in customer service. But you get what you pay for as a restaurant owner I guess.

I'm going to do my best to keep this short. Let me start by saying the one star rating isn't about the service. Everyone was as nice as could be. The one star goes right to the heart of the matter. The food flat out sucks. Dinner could not have been any worse. The place looks like a rock gym from the eighties. It's cold inside with high ceilings and what looks like rocking climbing walls. Moving on... I had an ice tea, Caesar salad, app and pizza for a grand total of $50. I'm sorry, but that just doesn't add up. The Caesar salad was bland, the eggplant meatballs tasted frozen and the pizza sucked. The crust was soggy and flavorless. The whole meal was flavorless. After reading this review head over to KickStater where I've started a fundraising effort to raise money to purchase a spice rack for the kitchen. it's just a bad restaurant, and not worthy of your dinner money. Breakfast might be a whole different story, but it's not where you want to go for dinner.

Let's begin with the good. The food served here is fantastic, breakfast being a definite specialty. The fruit tasted fresh and the meal made from scratch. Quality food is generally enough. Now on to the bad. Service was... next to nonexistant. Had I been alone, I would surely have left before ordering anything, as while the restaurant was close to empty, it took 10 minutes before drinks could be ordered, and 15 minutes after that for meal orders to be taken. Tldr. come for the food, but expect a short wait for any service, a good stop for anyone heading in or out of SF.

Waited for almost a half an hour in a half empty restaurant then waited another 40 minutes to eat after ordering. Ignored by staff, never got refills. Food tasted like heat lamp. Not how you run a restaurant.

My French Dip was no better than the ones from Black Bear or Star. Actually Black Bear's are better. It was Way over cooked and The Aujus was Way too salty. The breakfast is usually pretty good but I definitely don't think the French dip is very good or the chicken tenders for the kids or the pulled pork sandwich.

This is a very average restaurant. By reputation I think it's quite overrated. The food is overpriced for its quality. Nothing stands out on the menu that I've tried. They do have a good Portobello mushroom and roasted red pepper sandwich I'll give them that.

Pretty good food and atmosphere, although a bit noisy. Initial service was slow, but friendly. Eggs Benedict was tasty. As expected for the Bay Area, you'll pay more than you would in many other areas of the country. I'd recommend Toast and plan to return to check out the rest of its menu.

Nice and clean restaurant. Some foods tasted good like the beef my friend ordered and the kids pizza my son ordered. My fried chicken tasted a bit plain that could use a bit more salt. However, their fried foods did look with healthy color unlike some other restaurants their fried foods are dark means the oil been used cycle and cycle too many times.

Writing This review as it took 10 minutes for our server to greet us and now have been in the place for 49 minutes and still haven't gotten our drinks. Server did acknowledge bartender is backed up (saw bartender hanging out talking to a couple for a long time). How hard is it to put a glass a wine and a tap beer. Place is nowhere near full. Main course items were served at different times. So I initially gave them two stars and updating now. The food was really good. The server and manager came to talk to us and explained the issues. I would say they did attempt to rectify the problems and try to improve our experience.
