Waiter was awesome! Food was great! Family friendly. Can't say enough good things about Sunrise!
Love this place, best quiche in Walnut Creek! They often have a wait but it is worth it! Walk if you can, there is a parking lot but it is usually full.
Very good power breakfast of egg whites and fruit. Tasty and well presented, although portions were small. Service by Alisha was extremely courteous and friendly.
Great breakfast/brunch spot. Super friendly and great food - lots of good fresh options. You've gotta try the quiche at least once.
Good fresh wholesome food not made with a lot of processed ingredients!
Great bloody Mary
EXCELLENT customer service! We loved the personality and attentiveness of the waiters. The food was also delicious. Highly recommended for adults and families.
Healthy portions of delicious brunch goodies at reasonable prices.
Excellent food & service, super for kids as well
Food was great but the restaurant was very loud
Great ham and cheese breakfast croissants
Mostly eggs for breakfast, good food ok service
Great service and food. Cozy atmosphere.
Good food, great service but can get very busy for the servers
Food can be good to very good. Super crowded during lunch time.
EXPENSIVE AF. Great food though.
Try the pancakes that are so good and actually healthy the California chicken salad was fresh crunchy and delicious I will be back
The food is good but has gotten kind of bnb pricey.
Great place for breakfast! One of the things that surprised me the most was that they give a delicious basket of treats before you get your food.it comprised of two of each: chocolate biscuit, zucchini bread, and bread pudding. My favorite was the bread pudding - so good and not too sweet. The menu is a good size and has plenty to choose from. I ordered Nana's omelet with a side of chicken Apple sausage. The first thing I noticed was that the sausages were small. I was expecting larger sausages, but they were good nonetheless. The omelet was fluffy and and pretty big. I got full quite fast. The service was excellent. We sat at the bar and were served rather quickly. The only caveat was that the bar itself has a 3 inch lip that you have to eat over, that was a small price to pay for a busy Saturday morning. It's first come first served for bar seating, but there is no wait. There are only four or five seats, however, so be on the lookout. It is pricey. I think I'd only be able to make this a once a week sort if thing. However the ingredients are fresh and pretty good.
The food was good, the service was not. It was extremely noisy and the seats are way to close to one another: we couldn't talk to each other during lunch.
The potatoes are amazing. They also give you awesome pastries complimentary.
This restaurant offers an excellent range of brunch options. . . If you visit, be sure to try their incredible cheese blintzes!
Nice little place, our server was excellent and super funny. The service was great and so was the food and drinks.
We tried the corned beef hash and the brisket hash, both were excellent! Good sized portions too! Biscotti with the coffee was a nice touch. Will come again.
You can't go wrong ordering anything on their menu. Always fresh and quality ingredients. My husband and I love to go on Sundays for brunch. Richard's special and Luke's omelet are our go to menu items or their eggs denedict. Their Sunday pastries are delicious.
one of the best brunches I have ever had. The Brisket Hash was amazing, smokey, tender brisket with the sweetness of apples and heat in the sauce. Days later I am still thinking about it. Everyone else's food was also great and the pastries were excellent. Thank you for a great meal!
Very Loud, and I used to get a fabulous Hot Ham sandwich with spicy mustard, not now, gone off the menu. The Coconut cream cake was absolutely dee-luscious. Next time, dessert only.
Among the best breakfast joints in the world. So good, so very very good.
Great food and coffee. Not greasy but it's got those comfort cafè dishes. Ambiance is laid back for Walnut Creek...but it IS Walnut Creek so it's got some sophistication too
This place is a pretty good breakfast spot. There can be a wait but it is one of my go to breakfast spots in Walnut Creek.
Love..love..love this breakfast place. The food is excellent..the waitstaff is really professional and it's a very cozy place. Plus, u get yummy complimentary pastries (b4 it runs out) prior to your meal. We were served the most moist bread pudding I've ever had. We also got chocolate coffee cake as well as regular coffee cake. They were all very good and tasty. Jeff, the manager was super sweet. When I inquired about buying a piece of bread pudding and bringing it back home. He gave it to me for free. Wow!! I was very impressed! Go here for the food. Stay for the exceptional service.
Service was great and the food was delicious. Top notch cafe food!
Charming little brunch spot. Get on the lemon ricotta pancakes.
Great food, always crowded. A Little pricey.
They have some pretty good cocktails and a really good blta. Nuff said
Only one vegan item on the menu and it was severely lacking in flavor. Tofu and veggies could be seasoned, maybe come with a condiment on the side. The sweet potatoes as my side were delicious, though.
My mom asked the waitress what was popular to order for breakfast. The waitress, who had been working there for 20 years and has sampled pancakes from various restaurants stated these were the best she's ever had. She highly recommended ordering them. She was right! Yum. And the chicken apples sausage was scrumptious. This was all on my mom's plate and I ended up eating half. Oopps.I normally don't like pancakes because they just stuff me too much. These were light and fluffy and PERFECT. I would absolutely recommend the chicken apples sausage too.
Food can be tasty, IF it's made fresh and cooks in a good mood. If you come past noon your experience will not be as good. Always out of favorites , they don't plan ahead. Servers never look up or at your table and it's hard getting good service. Can be noisy and rushed , ruining the desired experience.
They put flavor pack dishes in front of you to enjoy! Great rich tasting coffee in you're glass mug! Carnitas dish is amazing!
nice breakfast spot next the Walnut Creek Mall
Been to 2 seminars catered by Sunrise. Excellent!!! Wish we lived closer to try the other food offerings at their Bistro. But the next time we're in Walnut Creek before 3:00 pm it will definitely be 1st on our list for a meal! Did I forget to mention it is savory, fresh, wholesome & delicious food too? Major bad on my part -- oops!
Friendly service, good food at fair prices.
Good food, good service. Great neighborhood spot that provides tasty, wholesome and healthy food.
Good solid catering, have had them multiple times for work. The breakfast burritos are great and the quiches are great. The restaurant has a very broad menu and most things are good, not amazing. The spiced iced tea is delightful. I would pass on the coffee. $$
It's not bad, busy in the morning for brunch which is to be expected. Service was okay but not great.
Quaint place for a store front in a strip mall. Good food, friendly service. Fair prices.
Healthy food, good service
Been here a couple times now. Great lil spot for food and atmosphere. Awesome Service
Excellent food, service & atmosphere. Looking forward to going back.
Had breakfast here last week, decent choices
Who doesn't love a good breakfast place? Sunrise wasn't half bad, super busy, we had to wait maybe 20 minutes before we were seated, the servers seemed a little flustered, but the food was good. Got myself an Omelet - kept it simple, just spinach and nothing else ( I know, wow, what a culinary adventure I went on here). I plan to come back and try something else on the menu, maybe the french toast? It looked and smelled delicious. Was this review …?
Had a wonderful birthday brunch. I had the Eggs Benedict. It was amazing.
It is a very popular place with the locals so make sure you have time to wait for your table. The service is decent and the food is good.
Delicious home made food and very friendly service. Strong recommend, but get there early.
Unique Veggie focused cuisine, large portions are standard!
Excellent food and drinks. The service was amazing. The staff was very accommodating, as we had a large group including a toddler. We especially loved the bloody BLTA Bloody Mary!!!
My family loves to have breakfast here. We really like the food
Very good food a little pricey the good atmosphere good people
Good food and people
Nice menu with lots of variety. Friendly staff and tasty food.
I've been enjoying Sunruse Bistro for years. Whether it was for breakfast or lunch (or most recently our catered meal for our wedding), they never disappoint. Fresh, local, and always tasty. Hands down one of the best restaurants ever! Awesome and friendly staff and service only add fond memories to my experiences.
Walnut Creek, CA 4 stars may be a tad bit generous for this casual breakfast and lunch diner We ordered a Rueben to split and a cobb salad. The house rolls were delicious, dressings were good, salad toppings like avocado were slightly brown...overall good, but not sure I would be back. Nevertheless, food still tasted above average hence the 4 stars.
Food was good.
Great place to go for Breakfast. Love the menu And the staff is on top of it. they give you some pastries before breakfast which Was pretty cool.
Excellent food and great service. I'm especially fond of their bread pudding, but you can't go wrong with anything here! Gets busy but they will give you coffee while you wait, if you ask.
A nice place to relax and enjoy a cup of coffee or have lunch with a friend. They stay quite busy during the week and weekend. It has an outside eating area as well. Food is excellent. Yes I would eat there again. Service is great.
Ask for pesto with your eggs. One of the best breakfast places I've been in a bit.
This place is a rare gem! The ambiance is great, the coffee is delicious and the food is high quality! It is even possible to eat clean and keto friendly! If you're willing to stray off though, try the whole wheat yogurt pancakes. They are SO yummy!
Loved Alisha the waitresd! She was excellent. She went over and above. The food was great too!
For a $16 omelette I was not impressed. First thing I knowticed was that the egg was only cooked on one side, and was not even fully cooked. 2nd the ham was very thin, they should use 1/4 inch slices. Sausage was okay. The omlelette was definitely filling. Potatoes had no flavor and it seemed as if the cook just smashed them with his hand as they were cooking them. Service was meh as you had to ask for everything. Water was good. I got to substitute the bacon instead of toast, and was Still not impressed with the meat. Place was clean and very busy, tables were perfect height and not awkward. I'm very picky when it comes to breakfast food as it is my favorite meal. Staff was nice. Sorry guys but the price and quality don't even match one bit. I don't like to give bad reviews if it's my first time visiting but this I had to.
Food was great! Service not so much but the manager comped us after we complained.
I've gone here a few time already and have never been disappointed. Our service is fast and there is always someone willing to check up on us if we need anything. You really can't ask for anything else from a great breakfast spot.
I come here about once a month with friends and we are never disappointed. The wait for brunch on weekends is usually about 20 to 30 minutes, and you can't make reservations. You can, however, call ahead to put your name on the list for a seat. Just make sure you'll be there shortly so you don't miss your name being called. I highly suggest the corned beef hash with half sweet and half regular potatoes.
Great local place. Good food and friendly service. Sit outside of the weather is good. Not fancy and in strip mall. Still nice place to meet friends or casual business meal. Lots of parking.
What a wonderful meal! Had the South of the Border and my dad had the Lox Scramble. Everything was absolutely fresh and came out in a timely manner. Generous portions as well! I think the prices are more than fair. Coffee was good too. Our server, Alisha was the true highlight of the meal
ONE OF THE BEST BREAKFAST AND BRUNCH SPOTS IN WALNUT CREEK. THE PORTIONS ARE HUGE, THE SERVICE IS SUPER, AND THE ATMOSPHERE IS PLEASANT
Get the morning buns every way. Great breakfast place
Delicious food..service was lacking and the place was packed
Great place to go for healthy, delicious food. The restaurant is always filled with positive energy, laughter and good conversations.
Good old fashioned home cooking and amazing hot spice tea. Friendly service and an overall great bmvslue.
Forewarning the wait as long. Brunch time here at sunrise bistro could take upwards of 30 to 45 minutes but it's absolutely worth it. After you place your order youget complimentary pastries, Cinnamon bread and chocolate chip banana bread. Everything we ordered was delicious. The portions are excellently sized and absolutely delicious. You're able to order two sides with your meal and they have a range of fruit, potatos, cooked vegetables, protein and even pancakes.
I no longer live in the area, but will still meet my friend here periodically because we love. The place so much. You can taste the quality ingredients and you can't beat the pastry basket on Sundays with a morning cup of coffee.
Very good food and service. Very busy. They are obviously doing it right.
Great breakfast. Tasty food. But a bit too loud for conversation
All around great food! You can't go wrong with anything on the menu. A local favorite and favorite if mine.
Wish they could expand! Great food and service.
Great place for breakfast.
Good food good service.
Hands down, the best breakfast in Walnut Creek. My favorite is the corned beef hash and eggs. And I love the little mini pastries that they bring to the table when you sit down. Any time I have house guests, this place is a must visit. Get here before 9am on the weekends or be prepared to wait a while.
I Love SB....
Not sure why people continue to flock here. The food is very average, portion sizes are small and it's crazy expensive! I used to come here years ago and loved it. Disappointed
We love this place
Food is good but do not come here if you’re in a hurry. They’re very understaffed and the service is pretty poor. No refills, never came to check in.
For healthy, delicious food, this place can't be beat. My friends and I love to go here after church on Sundays. Top to bottom, the staff truly like working here and it shows in every detail. On a Sunday there could be a wait, but it's well worth it. Can't think of a better place in Walnut Creek to eat breakfast or lunch. This is the place to go.
I've had breakfast and lunch here lots of times. No complaints or suggestions for improvement. The food is always delicious and the staff is always friendly. The only couple of things worth mentioning is that the parking lot gets congested, but considering the location, that's to be expected. Also, it can take a while to be seated, but it's usually busy when I've come. I just bust out something to read and service seems fast because I'm not bored.
A very popular place. We had breakfast, and it was great food! A large menu, good service, I'm ready to go again.
Awesome breakfast, pastries and coffee!
Food was great. We were seated in the backroom, which has a reputation of poor service. We had good service but no coffee refills. They need a "bus" person for the backroom. The poor waitress was trying to do everything.
Friendly, great food, quick service; our first time there
Best place for sustainable good food. Breakfast basket pastries are to die for!
It was my first time eating here. I knew the holiday weekend was going to be busy. The wait was well worth it!!! The service was quick, food delicious and I will definitely come back!
Always fresh and flavorfull. One of my top 3 WC locations.
Been going to Sunrise for a year. Love the friendly service. Usually food is great especially bacon. My last visit was very disappointing. The food was precooked scrambled eggs and bacon. The eggs were not better than a discount buffet and the bacon was over dried from sitting around for hours.
Really friendly and helpful staff, delicious food, reasonable prices.
Server Ryan was Awesome! The food was Excellent! Wish I lived in the area I would eat here all the time!
Always a great place for fresh breakfast or lunch with a large interesting selection for the two no charge sides that come with many breakfast items.
This is my favorite breakfast place in the area. My favorite is the BLT breakfast sandwich. Great bread basket they give you when you sit is also awesome. Great service too. You cant beat it.
Wow, what a delicious variety. Especially the small filled ones and the donut holes.
There's a reason there is always a crowd out front. This place is amazing, very well priced for the quality of food and coffee you get. I've gone many times and have yet to be disappointed. Just be sure to plan ahead as waits can sometimes be up to an hour.
Great service, good food
Hands down one of the best breakfast spots I've been to. The weekend breakfast/brunch came with free bread pudding and banana nut loaf bites just for sitting down for breakfast! They we're baked fresh and delicious! The hash alone (corned beef > brisket) was fantastic and clearly made in house.
Stopped in for Saturday brunch around noon, 10 minute wait time for 2. Server was very quick, complementary mini pastries were an added bonus (and delicious). Food came out quick and hot. Eggs Benedict was good. Will be back for brunch again! Second visit, was a wait to be seated for brunch. Not bad. But then service was very slow, didn’t get anyone to get us coffee for a while. Food was good, but not amazing enough to wait for.
My wife and I were here once many years ago when the restaurant was a 1/3 its present size. We decided to go back for a rare breakfast out on Fathers Day. We arrived early enough to be seated immediately and service was prompt, friendly and courteous. Armed with fresh hot coffee and some pastries, we ordered and relaxed till our breakfast arrived. Unfortunately neither my wife nor I were very impressed. I noticed right away that my omelet was not that hot although it was cooked throughout. It didn't get any better as the more I ate the colder things got. Maybe my taste buds were "off" this morning but it tasted pretty bland. My wife faired a bit better but once we had paid and were back to the car we were both in agreement about our dissatisfaction. I think 3 stars for the price paid, was a pretty generous rating.
A family restaurant where waiting for a table 11am on a Tuesday morning is worth the wait. The thirty minute drive is also worth the drive. Great fresh food and very good service.
Really love it here. Great food, very filling.
Our go to place for brunch. Menue is one of a kind.
MY favorite place for breakfast in Walnut Creek! Alicia is an amazing server that always has her best smile on. The combination of food and service makes for such a wonderful experience!
Beast breakfast ever! Great smiling faces and quick wait even though the line seemed long.
Their focus on fresh, healthy food here is wonderful. Breakfast is outstanding. A good example is you choose how you want your eggs and then pick your two sides. Love their South of the Border Breakfast. Their home baked goods are outstanding. Sunday Brunch comes with a selection of tempting pastries with your coffee. We love this place. Their bloody Mary is UFB! It is worth the wait if you get there after 9am on the weekend.
Very busy and good food with great staff!
Good food good service. Easy to find and plenty of free parking which is rare in Walnut Creek.
Love this place! Nice service, cozy! A good place to have brunch! The eggs Benedict are delicious!!!
Had the smoked brisket hash which was fantastic. Great combination of apples, sweet potatoes, smoked brisket, bacon and poached eggs. My wife had the Carnitas with eggs which was likewise great. Our server Maddie did a great job as well.
They got my order wrong, that’s all. I got a Benni and asked specifically to have poached eggs medium (they always come ‘easy’). And asked for some tomatoes on the side. Our waiter did not include ‘medium’ in his ticket, and get this, substituted my potatoes for some tomato slices. I worked in the restaurant business, that’s not how it works. I should give less stars, but my wife enjoyed her Lox and Scrambled. Place is Okay, I think it’s overrated.
They served coffee w/ almond biscotti or cantucci in Italian (:
A good variety of menu selections and options. Service and food is good.
Food was great. Loved the yogurt pancake and Joe's scramble. The atmosphere was nice
Great place for breakfast if you are waiting for your wife to give birth. Recommend the Joe's scramble with two sides of bacon (6 pieces total)
I love this place. I come here about once a week for late breakfast and I'm always satisfied. The staff are very friendly and accommodating and they have a great selection on their menu. Would definitely recommend.
The best service and the best food.
Great place for breakfast or brunch in downtown Walnut Creek. Sunrise Bistro has a small outside seating area and surprisingly indoor seating. Good selection of salads, omelettes, and pancakes. Generous portion sizes and great quality. Friendly and fast service.
Great place, great food, they don't rush you, but you may have to wait a little bit to get in
Excellent food and service. Very popular on weekends, so the wait is long.
Food is awesome, staff is better)) great place for brunch..
I've been coming here for more than 30 years and am never disappointed. Love this place!
Great food and responsive service.
I love their food! The lemon bars are the best! And the owner Cindy is the kindest person ever.
I love that the food here is made with healthy ingredients. Grass fed beef and Free-Range Chicken are staples here. I hate vegetables with a passion!!! However the Kale & Broccolini with toasted garlic is amazing!! This is the only time in my life I've enjoyed eating vegetables. This place is great!
Great service, generous portions and my waitress was attentive about my peanut allergy! Had the veggie omelette with chicken apple sausage ...mmmm yum
Hi my name is Joshua I had to make an an account in oder to post a review one of you drivers was literally scratching his private spot right outside before taking out the food from the van I mean the food wasnt for me but I will not recommend this place the man was tall was wearing burgundy shoes totally bad reputation also we notify the place where the food was delivered to
Sunrise is a great choice for those with special diets because ingredients are fresh and simply prepared like homemade. Good prices and friendly service. Popular for brunch, expect a modest wait. Large, but busy parking lot.
Comfort food breakfast
Go to breakfast spot in WC. I've never got anything I didn't like, the service is usually pretty good, and it's fairly priced. The huevos rancheros is great and so are the pancakes and french toast.
The waiter was super nice. A great guy. The place was quite retro and a bit dark.
High quality food and the friendly staff.
Great place for breakfast, a bit noisy because how popular but great food and service
Great service, really nice people. Can be busy so heads up, but definitely a place to check out for breakfast.
Quit good breakfast. the omlets are not too bad. The coffee is really awesome .
Way above expectations. It looks like a classic coffee shop, but the food and service are top notch.
Best breakfast and brunch place in the area
My son, his significant other and I have been having Sunday brunch here every other week, since 2011. One of our most favorite dishes is Nana's Omelet. I have noticed that recently (past six months) the amount of veggies has grown with what seems like twice or more of the amount of veggies from past years. That's gonna be my standing brunch order for awhile. Also, I order the breakfast sausage as one of my sides. Last time I ordered the chicken sausage instead. What a pleasant surprise. Nice and plump and juicy. Their coffee is also terrific. I can understand why there is always a line-up of hungry folks waiting for seating during brunch time. If you don't like to wait, get there before 9:30 am.
Excellent food and great service!
Food was good. Service was good.
Excellent service and top quality food! Kept us updated while waiting for a table and the complimentary pastures are always lovely! Best scratch kitchen in the east bay! & Their "Fuzzy Morning" beverage is the best! A nice hard twist on a traditional mimosa!
One of the best brunch places in a city that seems to specialize in brunch. I’ve been here many times and have never been disappointed.
