Hipster lunch spot featuring a rotating menu that is hit or miss depending on your tastes. The food is certainly better than a cafeteria's, but not presented especially well. You get the feeling that they're trying a little too hard with the decorations and place settings, but overall a great place to grab a quick bite to eat!

Great little spot for brunch! My wife and I had the Overnight Chile Braised Pork with Poached Eggs, Parmesan Polenta and Braised Greens (must try) and the Croissant French Toast with TCHO Chocolate and Cultured Butter. Also had a side of brown- sugar bacon and a slice of Apple and Walnut Bread. We ate everything! We were stuffed! We felt a little bad stuffing out faces with all that delicious and, probably, overly-indulgent food though while the couple next to us were having Farm-egg scramble with Smoked Salmon, Asparagus and Avacado and side of Yogurt and Granola.

It's not a cheap lunch, but given how expensive lunch in this area is, it works out to a decent value comparatively. A really welcome addition to the SOMA lunch scene.

Fantastic little place for lunch in this neighborhood. Fresh delicious food is plated as you watch, and the friendly staff are as open to minor modifications as they can be. I had some delicious melt-in-your mouth braised pork belly, served on a generously balanced portion of vegetables. I believe the menu changes often -- daily? -- and that there's always a vegetarian option.

High quality, rotating food menu served in a cafeteria-like setting. Weird? Nah, not really. Think of your Chipotles or tech company cafes, but, well, nicer. The day I went, they were serving up a slightly Thai-themed menu, where I ordered a lemongrass pork shoulder for my main, and bok choy and papaya salad for my sides. Great flavors all around, but the pork was far too salty for my tastes, and there was not a grain of rice to be had, which was unfortunate, to say the least. And while the prices are definitely on the higher side, I can see myself possibly coming back if I were in the area, just to check out a different menu. Given that I work all the way in FiDi, it's unlikely to happen anytime soon though! ***Accessibility Info*** Venue - A midsize venue, with pretty spacious/open seating. That said, the tables are a bit on the smaller / more narrow side, so wheelchairs may have trouble scooting themselves between the legs of the tables. Bathroom - Didn't try them, so no comment.

Picnic on Third would be a five star experience if the food was warm!! As great as their flavors are, it's has always been less palatable to me to have cold brussels sprouts rather than warm ones.
