Service here was great, however the chef is terrible. I ordered a medium rare ribeye steak, and it comes out bleu. I cut into the steak, well at least tried to, but it was beyond fatty with lots of gristle. The appetizers are nothing to be impressed by either, we ordered the mozzarella, shrimp, and crab cakes, it all tasted the same, like boiled shrimp. The scenery is way too dark, and loud.

Mermaids is a Fayetteville institution. On this visit, I had the Tower of Tuna, while my companion had the steak frites. Both entrees were spot on, but I’d be remiss if I didn’t mention our superb server, Jeff. Jeff epitomizes southern hospitality. His lyrical descriptions of menu items will make your mouth water. He exudes charm, and even a lifetime Arkansan will pick up a couple of new idioms from him. He is a master of his trade, and always makes an evening more memorable.

I really don't see what the chef is trying to do here.. The entire menu is composed of seafood and pasta. I have been let down on previous trips so I decided to give the steak and lobster a shot. I kid you not. The steak was something I could get at a school cafeteria and the lobster was deep fried. What?

My husband and I found Mermaids for our wedding reception after having lost our original location just weeks before our big day. Mermaids was extremely accommodating, understanding, and friendly. We could not have been happier with the location. The room was beautiful, the perfect size for our nearly 100 guests, and completely private from the rest of the restaurant. The food was of course wonderful- our guests couldn’t stop raving about the buffalo chicken option! It was a perfect evening.

Great lunch today! Had the sirracha shrimp lettuce wraps. Great flavor and perfect size for lunch. Our waiter was very attentive and knew the right times to pop over and check on us. Service was very fast. Good for a business lunch.

We came for lunch and were very pleased by their service and food. Whatever you do, don't forget the buttery bread and artichoke heart dip. Several years ago, they used to shape the buttered bread loaves like a fish and were served on a fish shaped plate. Although the looks might have changed, the flavor hasn't. Superb quality and and service. 10/10, will dine in again.

Took my best friend here for his birthday, he had been before and loved it. I had heard mixed reviews from friends and co-workers, and I've gotta say not worth it. My friend had crab cakes as an appetizer that were visibly burnt and the waiter wouldn't replace them. Salad nothing special, bread flavorless and saturated in butter. Their was an upcharge to add chicken to my dish, their were maybe three bites of chicken. Alfredo sauce tasted like hot milk. My friends salad was spinach dripping in oil with the smallest piece of salmon I've ever seen. $80. Shoulda went to McDonald's.

We ordered these lobster bites as an appetizer. Completely undercooked to the point of being raw. They were also slimy. For dinner I had shrimp with my meal. What "fancy," "nice," or "date worthy" restaurant does not clean out their shrimp? This place is disgusting and not worth the overpriced food. P.S I'm from the coast, I know good seafood.

Food and staff are excellent, I especially love the bread they serve. I'd recommend the Tuna to anyone; it has savory and sweet in the dish and some great texture between the fish and risotto. However, I really wish some of the other diners would exhibit behavior befitting the venue. Was here on a Saturday night and there was a loud, seemingly drunk table and a few patrons dressed inappropriately. Best time to go is early on a weekday to avoid these annoyances :)

Was a large Friend get together in the Fireplace Room. Special beautiful fireplace room nicely decorated. Was very good and kind service. Served our big group all together at same times individual different meals. Asked if anything was needed. Very Astute not pushy. All food was fresh and made to order. Seafood , veal, chicken, Top prime steaks. Fresh salads and dressings and home made soups, with fresh bread loafs. A real treat.. Bottles of wine with nice selection. Appetizers which we tried crab stuffed mushrooms. Crabcakes with special sauces. Try it.

I had really high hopes for this place since it has such a cool atmosphere. I told our server that I couldn't have gluten or dairy and she brought out the duck breast with bleu cheese and a side of mushroom creme sauce.... so she took that back and asked what I wanted instead. I told her tell them to make whatever is going to taste the best with my restrictions, I was open to whatever but didn't just want the duck with rice and spinach.... she came back out and said, "sorry, they've already started another duck breast so we'll just do that with rice and sauteed spinach." And that's literally what they brought out to me.... I understand that a lot of sauces have dairy and gluten but as upscale as this place is I feel like they could've taken the extra step to make a sauce or something to go with my meal. The duck was seasoned well but that was it. I literally paid $26 for an entree I very very easily could've made at home. My husband was satisfied with his duck entree and the sauce with it looked delicious.

I was here for a charity luncheon. I'm a vegetarian so I wasn't eating. A waiter noticed and asked if everything was ok. After I told him he took my plate and returned with a wonderful salad full of veggies and bread. I couldn't say enough good things about this restaurant or the staff. Thank you Mermaids!!

I could take it or leave it, it would t be my choice to go there. Over cooked meat covered in sauce that tastes like it was just mixed. I don't mean as in tastes fresh, I mean the flavors were not married yet. Since our meals were chicken and beef, I would not pay the price to chance the same on the Ahi. NOT a five star.

The staff here is probably my favorite thing about Mermaid's, although it's hard to beat their delicious bread with melted butter. Yum. Haven't been overly impressed by there food, although their prices would have you believe it to be quite delicious. I enjoy the wedge salad and some of the veggie pastas. They are happy to accommodate food allergies or restrictions. The vegetables were quite nice in my pasta dish , but the pasta was a bit overcooked. I haven't tried the patio, but it's quite pretty. Also, there are large areas for rent for private functions.

My first meal at this restaurant. House salad was fresh, with a nice variety of greens and a hearty bleu cheese dressing. Ribeye Mermaid's Style was nicely marbled and well-prepared at rare, but the shitake soy-ginger sauce was a bit sweet for my taste. The carrots were rather pedestrian, while the mashed potatoes were smooth and flavorful. The fresh bread was a warm, buttery accompaniment to the salad and entree. Service was quite good.

The food was really good. (It was our first time) But our waiter is who made us feel welcomed. He was so friendly and funny. Always checking on us and helping us with suggestions. He made sure we were happy with everything. Our drinks were never allowed past the half mark with him. The Beef Tips and Shrimp in ginger sauce was the best. For dessert Swiss Chocolate Cake and Banana Foster are great choices. Would definitely recommend and will definitely be back❤

We like trying different local restaurants. We especially like seafood places. At first, we were not impressed with the menu, but the food was outstanding. I had Swiss onion soup and the hot rocks shrimp. I asked for no buffalo sauce because I can't handle much spice. It was served with blue cheese dressing and wow. It was so good. My partner had the seafood pasta that he said was great. So happy we came.

Mermaids restaurant in Fayetteville, Ar lives up to its name. From the moment you walk in you encounter a lovely statue on the table of a mermaid. When you enter the foyer there's a beautiful bronze sculpture of a mermaid touching a sea turtle. Then you hear the running water to your right and you see an enclave with stones, various mermaids and you are overcome with complete serenity! When you enter the dining area a beautiful salt water tank catches your eyes! The fish are gorgeous along with the anemones and corals and water that's so clean! The servers are knowledgeable about all the dishes. I have been to mermaids a number of times rather lunch or dinner the food is always fresh, seasoned perfectly, delicious and filling! You aren't rushed to complete the dining experience. You leave Mermaids contented in every way! Make sure you visit the mermaid room and make a wish
