El Güero Canelo used to be my favorite sonoran hot dog place. It seems that as they have grown they have gone down in food quality. This last visit made me think, this is the last time I come here... prices have gone up, the buns for the hot dogs are dry, flavorless, the toppings were so so. Overall not impressed at all.

The sonoran dogs here are probably my favorite in town. The buns are sweet but hold the toppings really well. The tacos are just as good. Food tastes fresh and it is all at a reasonable price. Especially their special for a sonoran dog, taco, and drink. Don't forget the sides bar! Fresh veggies, toppings, and salsa.

A favorite spot whenever I visit family in Tuscon. Ever since my sister introduced me to the Senoran Dog, I have always loved going with her to get her El Güero Canelo fix. This visit was a little different, however. Our food took more than thirty minutes to arrive. One of the workers noticed we were waiting for a while so he came to check on us. We found out that our ticket did not print causing our order to not go through. Once that was fixed and our food was brought with an an ungodly amount of apology guac. His service to us in light of a unfortunate food service mistake made the visit so much better. I hope to incorporate the power of apology guac into my family from here on out. Nothing can sooth the tension of a misunderstanding better than apology guac.

This is my favorite place on 22nd street to get the right taste for Mexican food. But each time we go the server's are in a bad mood. It's like we can't even ask them for anything. This last time I asked for foil paper she completely ignored me her name is Grecia. I would like to see why. They have changed so many things but the staff needs customer service training. Please I want to give 5 stars but half balances with your staff.

We went to take our friend to have a Sonoran Style got dogs, he has never had one and we said you can’t leave Tucson without trying these because they are so good...... The usual place that we go to my daughter said they change the bun to wheat and it was very dry, and disgusting. We went to this one and I have to say I was extremely disappointed. They forget to put the bacon on our hotdogs, WHAT! That’s part of the whole deal of the Sonoran dog. We ordered five of those and tacos and of course we had to have a little bottles of Coke. The condiments choices seem to be much less than the other place that we like to go to, so I wasn’t impressed about that either. Not my favorite location and I will try my favorite one again but if that one has changed as well and I wouldn’t recommend it. I was very DISSATISFIED so I would not recommend this place. What a let down.

I used to enjoy eating there the place went down hill from poor sanitation to customer service. It takes forever to get your order, the cashiers look miserable and are not friendly. The side window without a screen was open so there were tons of flies. Unfortunately it is right next to the prep and cook line and flies where landing on the workers and food. The area they cook in was extremely dirty and food on the floor.

Place keeps going down hill "Daniel aka Thee Guero Canelo" gets James beard award and forgets where he comes from Need to do a better job of your employees around closing. Placed an order at 9:40 it's now 10:18 employees laughing and standing around waiting for last customers to leave I knew something was wrong went up to ask about my order why it was taking so long 3 other parties got their food and everyone blaming it on the next person as to why it wasn't made or it was made already etc I'd post a picture of the receipt of time of purchase but was taken from me when I went to ask about what the problem was. They then have the nerve to ask after I've already paid if I still want the food that they are going have to cook everything fresh and it's gonna take some time so I'm still gonna have to wait. At this point it's late and everyone in party just wants to eat I said make my food please only to get eyes rolling and an unenthusiastic breath of "well okay" to update this order they call me for me food and now the order is wrong the lady who gave me my food was extremely understanding of my frustration and said she'll try to have it corrected and replace the missing items ASAP she's sweet believe her name was "Carmen" give her a raise or a higher position she understands customer service I understand thing ma happen but the majority of the staff seem like they could careless they took my money and never offered a refund or any type of reconciliation or compensation after the first or second blunder.

Always good. Carne Asada very flavorful. Large selection at the Salsa Bar or Hotdog condiments. We had beef Caramelos, Estilo Sonoran style hotdog, and medium Pollo burro. Owner was there the day we ate. Quite the character. Enjoyed talking to him. Remember to put your soda bottle in the boxes provided, not the trash. Come hungry, you wont be disappointed.

The place needs a DEEP cleaning. And for a 40 dollar bill , I would expect some authentic chips. Not Tostitos ! The meat is dry and fatty, and tough. Horchata is a syrup , not authentic . Not to mention the chola employees and the ghetto vibe . Nope. Not impressed. This place was great 5 years ago.

This is the by far the worse experience. The order was completely wrong from the tacos to the quesadillas. And talk about the price vs portions and quality. I'll never step foot into this location and probably never into any other ones located in Tucson. Called a dozen times to talk about my issues and concerns. Their landline is a phony #. I really hope their owner can make it up because by God if not I hope his company crumbles down when people see the truth in his business. I'm beyond disgusted with this visitation. I will be letting all my friends and family know about the experience I had to go through. Shame on you guys. You guys were once my favorite. Back to Jason's and BK I go. You lost my service for life

This place is an experience. They serve very good tacos (not 5-star tacos) but not the best taco in town. I'm still looking for the best taco in Tucson. That said, for the price and the amount of carne asada this place puts in their tacos, burritos, and tortas, it's a steal. The service is print, the staff are friendly, and their condiment cart is second to none. I highly recommend it if you are hungry and in a hurry some inexpensive eats.

Great tortas, tacos etc... I had the carne asada torta and it comes w/sliced lettuce or cabbage on the side and you can add your own onions, salsa, etc... So don't worry about asking for one and omitting this or that. The bread was buttered and grilled and that's part of the deliciousness. The carne asada was tastey too. Some places over cook or it's too cold from sitting around til someone orders. They have fountain drinks and Mexican coke (coca) in a bottle (en botilla). There are 3 other locations. Two of them are smaller and older but still great food. The newest and biggest one is off of 2nd Ave if you're familiar with that location .

When I went it was my first time going there. I got the Sonoran dogs which were fine. The menu was easy to read and they have a pretty good selection. They have a condiment bar that has things like grilled onions, grilled jalapenos, and some pickled vegetables. When we went it was pretty busy and the line was long to order. Food was worth it though

Went to location on east tucson Not only it took about 28 minutes to get my order which It was Only 2 hotdogs and a small burrito, but also the buns on both hot dogs were super soggy almost like if they were dipped in water not cool at all!

Chicken and beef are your only meat options for the very limited menu they offer. Paid $30 for 2 burritos, a quesadilla and 3 bottles of soda. Food was good but not worth the high price. And it was 85° inside

Food here is great, always recommend out of towers to try a Sonora hotdog and Guero makes one of the best. They added a drive through which is great, but I feel like they just completely ignore you while you wait or don’t confirm what you ordered. It makes me feel like I am being rude saying “Are you there? Did you get that?” Etc....

Had the happy hour special which included a taco, a sonoran dog, and a drink for $5 this was my first time eating a sonoran dog and I have to say it was pretty good. Only negative thing about the hot dog tasted as if it was boiled.

Guero Canelo is always tasty when you're in the mood for it. I love seeing them grilling the meat out back. You know it's fresh. I got a Sonoran hot dog - so good, bacon-wrapped and served on a soft Mexican roll with all the extras, plus a large caramello with steak and beans. Be prepared to wait for your order if it's busy inside. You can use the time for people watching and stocking up a plate of your desired condiments at the large veggie bar, which is loaded with grilled green onions and chiles, marinated red onion slices, cucumbers, grated cheese, several different salsas and more. Such a deal, and so good!

Yummy burro! Medium is all I want, can't imagine finishing a Grande. In fact I could probably share a medium and still be pleasantly full. Ingredients taste fresh and the large salsa bar is awesome. Service is good, not great, but for such a busy place they do okay. Bright, clean decor. Take my word, your tummy will thank you!

I would still recommend, but not my favorite by far. The big burrito has always a decent amount of meat. Ask for cabbage, cheese, beans for free.

CAUTION: the Scoville scale of the house made Pico de Gallo (chunky salsa) will rock your world and very possibly ruin your meal and an hour or two of your day trying to soothe your burned lips and tongue. It must be a machismo thing to make this hellish condiment, but it doesn't add to the otherwise flavorless food. I don't understand the appeal of this place. Other than the inedible salsa, nothing else has any seasoning (ie.no salt, pepper, cumin, garlic, any kind of brine on the meats served). They've cut out the bacon on the puny new "Sonoran Hot Dog" which was their supposed claim to fame. This place is a "skip " for me.

Gets worse every time I visit. First off, bathroom was filthy. Also they didn't have many options of salsas and the grilled onions were gone. When asked the employees they were rude and not helpful. I would stay away from this place. It's Tucson, so there's many better Mexican restaurants to pick from with better prices.

Great food but camped bench tables. Ordered a caramelo with every thing, a couple tacos, and a Sonoran hotdog. Everything was super tasty and loved that they had a salsa and condiment bar that had roasted been onions, roasted jalapenos, and pickled red onion. My only complaint is the seating. As a larger guy it was super uncomfortable and cramped, but otherwise a great experience. Will definitely visit again, but may take my food to eat out on the curb.

The food is soooo good! I love coming here! If you have a love for Sonoran dogs, like me, then this is absolutely a must visit! Or if you are feeling especially hungry, their meal options are HUGE! Price is very reasonable for what you’re getting in both quantity and quality. If you dine in, they have a small island with cucumber slices, salsa, avocado dressings and such to gather while you wait. The dining room is decent sized and clean. I always see families eating there when I go. I would highly recommend this restaurant!
