I booked Happy Catering for my wedding in May 2019 with the expectations of great food and great customer service. My interactions with the staff leading up to my wedding were great. I had a fear of running out of food, however the staff continued to reassure me that we would not run out of food. On the day of my wedding we ran out of my two meats (chicken skewers and roast beef) within the first 45 minutes of my reception. Our headcount that we submitted to Happy Catering was significantly lower than the headcount on my wedding day due to getting married on a holiday weekend. I was first told of us running out of meat after my father/daughter dance - before my cake cutting. Instead of finding a way to cook more meat they went to Zaxby's and got buckets of chicken fingers to serve at my reception. I was unaware of this decision, especially since I was being told that there was meat on the grill. Another complaint is that the bartender decided to close the bar down 15 minutes before the reception even though we had PLENTY of beer and wine left over. I had multiple complaints from my guest about the bar being closed early with beer and wine left over. Thankfully these details went "unnoticed" by most of my wedding guests because of the amazing band that we had present. If we didn't have a great band then the focus would have been on the lack of food. After we returned to the country from our honeymoon, myself and my father in law were both in touch with the Robbie Dyson "chef owner operator" to discuss our complaints and concerns from Happy Catering. Robbie has terrible customer service. Instead of apologizing for the poor decisions and pre planning of the company he argued every point, even though he was not present at my reception. Robbie Dyson turned my experience with Happy Catering into a horrible experience. Having to deal and argue with him after returning from my honeymoon was terrible. I recommend for all brides to do their research and book another catering company to save themselves from the headache that Happy Catering has caused me.

Worst food I’ve ever eaten. Would NEVER use these people ever again. They catered my wedding. The filet mignon they serve is a glorified pot roast. I’d be careful. If you get upset about spending $15000 on pot roast and tell them you’re upset they say oh well your guests seemed to enjoy our $15000 pot roast

My husband and I live in Georgia, so when our daughter’s wedding was set in Birmingham, we scoured reviews for catering companies to handle the wedding reception. We decided on Happy Catering and all the arrangements were made for them to serve our 270 guests dinner and drinks from the bar. I wish I could give a glowing review but unfortunately, that is NOT the case. The caterers ran out of one of the (2) main course items on the buffet (roast beef sliders), an hour after the reception began. The catering “captain” did not inform the wedding planner about this and there was no additional food made until we asked they bring in some sort of substitution. As for the bar, well here goes: We were told that (2) bars and (3) bartenders would be enough to keep things flowing smoothly. We had beer, wine, champagne, Margaritas (pre-mixed in decanters by the bar staff) and a REALLY NICE bourbon. The catering staff did not bring enough coolers and ice to chill the beer and we had to ask two of our guests (good friends) to go get two more coolers. The bartenders were told the bourbon was for a select few and could only be served neat or on the rocks to make sure it was enjoyed by our more MATURE guests and not poured too heavily. They ignored this and OVER SERVED several of the TWENTY-SOMETHINGS at the party. We provided the tequila and margarita mixer for the bar and gave mixing instructions to the bar staff. When one of our guests wanted a margarita, the bartender said she didn’t know how to make them and asked our guest if SHE knew. Then, a bartender proceeded to take a USED glass, did not empty it or get a NEW one, and rimmed it on the salt rimmers that were used for all the guests! A VERY UNSANITARY PRACTICE! Additionally, we had a bartender attempt to shut down his bar early when we ran low on beer, even though we still had wine, champagne, margaritas and bourbon at that bar. There was no attempt to proactively communicate any of these issues to the wedding planner or the hosts. The leftover food was not boxed up and given to us as promised. We did not get any of the bourbon back even though we know there were AT LEAST 2 bottles left. When we contacted them about the disappointing service, we were met with a total unwillingness to accept any responsibility whatsoever, and even hostility. As I said before, I had hoped to give Happy Catering a stellar review, but I cannot. My husband and I were expecting a flawless, issue-free celebration of our daughter’s marriage and that is not what we received. We only wanted to post this review to better inform potential consumers. In other words, buyer beware!

We recently used Happy Catering for an all day staff retreat. They provided breakfast, lunch, and beverages for 60 people without any hiccups throughout the day. The food was excellent, and the service was delightful! Everything was set up upon our arrival exactly as we had discussed. Zeddie, the kind gentleman serving us double checked with me first thing in the morning about what time we preferred to transition from on meal to the next. He was very accommodating and thoughtfully left some of the breakfast pastries out for snacking between meals. His service was quite flexible, punctual, and never disruptive to our meeting. The food was absolutely delicious! Everything was served at the appropriate temperature, and set up for us to move smoothly along the buffet line with no trouble or bottle necking. Holly was also a pleasure to work with. She helped us place our order and made all of the necessary arrangements. The entire experience was easy, well priced, and very satisfying. I would absolutely recommend using Happy Catering for any event, and will certainly do so again myself!

I LOVE Happy Catering! I recently used them for an event at Cahaba Brewing Company. They provided boxed lunches for a couple hundred people along with a buffet for our VIP guests. Happy Catering stayed on top of everything and kept up great communication, showed up early and even helped us set everything up. Did I mention how good the food was? Because it was DELICIOUS! From start to finish, it was such a great experience!

We asked for food for 150 people and at the end of the evening were surprised when they came to us with additional pans of food for us to take home. They way over prepared! My friends and family are still talking about the creativity of each station and breaking the mold from buffet style. The Happy Catering Company exceeded so many of my expectations during my wedding! First of all, the team is so friendly and approachable which made it fun to meet with them during the entire wedding planning process. They truly cared about your vision for the wedding and wanted everything to look perfect and run smoothly. They also have AMAZING food. We had a cocktail hour, dinner, and late night brownies and cookies during our wedding. When I say every course was a hit, they were an absolute HIT. Everyone was complimenting the food and everyone went on and on about how delicious everything was. We even had leftovers to take home after the wedding! My mom was able to pack my fridge with chicken skewers, the famous crack dip, chicken fingers, and brie rings to name a few! My husband and I are still working on the leftover food from our wedding in the middle of December and it is January! And let me tell you, it still taste as good now as it did then :) The Happy Catering Company is one I would recommend over and over again. This team is trustworthy, hardworking, polite, professional, and just overall talented. If you want your guest to fall in love with your food and have a great time, The Happy Catering Company is the way to go!

For hot meals, Happy Catering is only one of a very few caterers that I order from. I can honestly say that the food is really delicious. I have never had a Happy Catering meal or service that I wasn't 100% pleased with.
