Delicious food (buffet), quiet subdued atmosphere, tables serviced promptly by friendly staff, obviously a very well managed establishment.

Martha's Place offers southern home style food. The premises are clean and as far as southern cuisine goes, the food is decent and is a pretty good substitute for home cooking. What I didn't like was how small the buffet area is. A long line of people around the buffet can be expected most of the time because food quickly runs out and more has to be prepared. Some customers said they had been waiting for 15 minutes for additional food to be placed on the hot bar. So if you are expecting to quickly fill a carry-out plate, you might find that you will have to pull up a chair and wait like everyone else. Additionally, the evening that we visited this restaurant (3/16/19) the cashier was busy talking on her phone which slowed the checkout time. So I would have to give Martha's Place three stars out of a possible five.

Pretty darn awesome. Delicious southern cooking. They even had the clear pepper sauce the one with the peppers in it, on the table for the collard greens. Tomorrow they will be serving something different. Call to check.

This was my first time visit here.11/22/18 Thanksgiving dinner for my birthday! I was very excited, I didn't have to cook this Thanksgiving! And was very disappointed!!!! My turkey literally was ice cold you can see the ice on the turkey! Pushed to the side I hate Fried Chicken it was good. Okra and yams were great! But I thought to myself I should have just made my own Thanksgiving dinner at my house after all!

I was there on Mother's day. The food was very good. The problem I had was that they were running out of food and I had to wait entirely too long to get the food I had paid for. My server was very attentive to me and my family's needs. I was trying to decide if you deserved a 3 or 4 out of 5 rating. THE MAIN PROBLEM was the cashier!! I really thought about leaving because her ATTITUDE was really NASTY!! I simply asked her a simple question and you would have thought I had cursed her out. My family had to tell me to calm down because I was about to let her know how disappointed I was in the way she acted towards me and the other customers. I hope the owner puts someone else on the register for the next big event because it is quite apparent that she can't handle pressure. One other thing you might want to consider is, staying open a little later on special occasions. Most of your competitors were open making the money you could have been making.

It was typical country cooking buffet. Veggies were good, dessert was fine. I nocked off a star because there was NO white meat in the fried chicken. None. That's just cheap. Service was friendly, fine atmosphere.

Delicious southern food. Don't go if you're not hungry. Fried green tomatoes, okra, fish, squash casserole and more was hot and tasty from the food bar. Service was friendly and attentive. Great value includes all you can eat from the salad bar and hot food buffet as well as a drink for $10 for adults and $9 for seniors.

This place is very delicious. The food is always piping-hot and authentic. My favorite is the strawberry cake that is made. You can't eat just one of those. Also I really enjoy the macaroni and cheese. All of the sides are delicious. I don't eat the meat much because I am particular of meats, however they look fresh and don't disappoint my table buddies. I've only had one bad experience with one of the employees. Once I brought that to the attention of the manager, it was treated well and he made sure to address. I can say that the renovations inside of this restaurant or grand! Martha has truly spent some time on the upgrades. I'll be going back as the prices are reasonable as well.

Delicious food, four of us went on a Sunday. It was busy, but it was a very short wait. The area around the buffet was very crowded and a little hard to move around at times. They had sperate areas to sit and where we sat was not to busy to enjoy our food. They were a little slow on refilling the sweet potatoes and fried green tomatoes, but we would just check back till they had it. The staff were all very nice. We will be going back again!

We were in Montgomery on 11/8/18 visiting from Central Florida. We stopped into Martha's for lunch. We were very disappointed in the empty food trays and limited meat choices on the buffet line. There were only dark chicken meat. The corn bread pan was empty as well as the dessert trays. After seeing the information about the restaurant on the internet and reading the reviews, we wanted to enjoy a meal there. We did not enjoy the food at all! We left after eating a little of the broccoli salad and drinking some iced tea. As we left, I did express our disappointment to the cashier and she said she was sorry. I would not recommend Martha's Place!

Best authentic soul food in the area. My recommendation is that they have a separate entrance for people doing to go orders. I often have not gone because you get mixed in the line with diners because of the crowd. To do a to go order I have to go at an off time. If they just said to go people enter on this side and have the boxes over there you would cut down on the confusion. All the food on the buffet is good. One year, I had the fried chicken and it smelled so bad that I refuse to get the chicken but the rest of the food is delicious.

Haven't been to Martha's Place in awhile. It is lovely! Expanded, roomy, well-kept. Tables are decorated with nice black tablecloths & red plate chargers. Service was very good. The buffet was delicious & kept well-stocked. Nice variety of meats, veggies, & salads. Banana pudding & cakes for dessert. Reasonably priced, good food, good service--what more could you ask for? Will definitely return soon!

Lots of older people, business men and women and lots of law enforcement eat here. The food is fresh, clean and not overly or under seasoned. Normally Wednesday is my favorite day to go...Today I dined in with my mother and my 3 year old daughter and I must say the food was not what we were used to We were very unhappy. My baby only ate fried chicken and has been throwing up since I’m assuming food poisoning I’m not what was different but today definitely wasn’t a good day.

I was craving real soul food, and this place delivered! Clearly, I arrived at the right time, because as I was leaving there was a wait line out the door. They had a range of all the southern favorites you could imagine. And everything was seasoned to perfection. The waitress even brought around samples of apple cobbler straight from the kitchen. You cannot beat the price either, $12 per person for a full Buffet.

The food was average and the staff did not come across as friendly. We were there for a wedding family dinner which was reserved for a specific time. Upon arrival, we had to wait an additional 20-30 minutes for the room to be prepared. A lot of the items on the Buffet were under seasoned and the baked chicken was a little over cooked. I came here 3 years ago and the food was much better. We will not be returning any time soon.

Well I went in looking for turkey and gravy it was baked chicken easy to get over. Then there was a big to go rush so I waited to get a second plate. I asked about getting some beef and rice and was told pick from what's there we're closing soon .I get two pieces of fried chicken and undercooked dressing, first bite if the chicken hair mixed with batter, server was right there so I had to inform her. Though I got a refund it was the lacking if genuine care that I was leaving disappointed!

My family and I visited this place yesterday and had the BEST experience EVER! My husband is originally from here but I'm from Tallahassee, Florida. When I tell you they not cooking like this down there please believe it! Martha's Place had great customer services, the food was beyond delicious. Everything was fresh and the buffet area was immaculate! The decor was welcoming, clean and very thoughtful! I love the table settings and the warmth. It was cozy and made us feel like we were eating a family dinner at home like we usually do. The price was freaking awesome for 4 people and drinks were included. The other patrons were nice and seem to be having a great time as well. Back home my boys don't eat nearly as much at the buffets there as they did at Martha's Place. I promise every return trip from this point forward will include a trio to Martha's Place. Please take your families or just yourself and experience this wonderful place.
