Do not go here!!! I don't know what they did but there's a dinging in my car that will not stop so I took my car to the dealership to get my car looked at is $150. On top of all of that my car was not even clean and I asked the manager for my money back and specifically told him that I have to get my car fixed and he still would not give me my money back . He offered to re-clean my car of course I declined because it should've been clean the first time and yet still after telling him I have to go get my car looked that he just did not care and would not give me my $15 back. The people at my dealership don't know what is causing my car to keep making the noise it's making but I have to get my car looked at now All because I wanted to get my car washed. Only reason I'm writing one star is because I can't rate zero

I asked how much was the top wash it was approximately $19. I responded ok, would you like the back cleaned, "yes" which was poor and left my rear seats down. I get to the register I was charged $2.50 which should of been explained. Outside of the vehicle is great, inside service really don't recommend.

I don't go here for all of my car washes, but perhaps 2 to 3 times per year, I go to Mermaid for a great value on interior and exterior cleaning. I've never had an issue afterwards, and the interior scent on the Pearl Package is a nice touch.

Don't waste your time or money - really lousy car wash. They used to be good years ago, but now they just send your car through as fast as possible with no quality or thoroughness. Car was still dirty outside and inside. And it's a new car,, so wasn't really that messy to begin with. I paid for extras that weren't done. They offer to send you through again, but the wait wasn't worth the trouble.

You pay double the price for cleaning service here compared to any touch less carwash at a gas station. Its no better than the car wash at a gas station. They say they clean inside and even the foot rest at the door was filled with mud. used a dirty towel to clean inside and left dirt on the rear view mirror and the stereo system. I will never go back to this place again.

This place is average to begin with, but probably one of the better spots in town to get a wash, and not get your car all scratched up (brushless), well or at least I thought. I go almost every Sunday morning to get may car washed first thing. After pulling out of the wash, I go a half block down to the little parking lot near the bike path and wipe all the water from inside the car doors, trunk, mirrors, etc. I am not knocking them for missing these things, they need to push cars through to make money, but I am meticulous about cleaning my car. In fact, I had rinsed the car off Saturday night, because I had taken a country drive and gotten bugs and dust on the car, that I knew would not come all the way off Sunday when I took my car in. Anyways, while drying off my car in the little lot down the street, I noticed some gashes in my rims, that took the paint off. I have factory rims, with lower profile tires (also factory), so it is not anything exotic that the car wash shouldn't have accounted for. I immediately took the car back to show them that their conveyor must have a loose piece, or some sort of other wear, and that they might want to fix it. I was immediately met with an argument that there is no way their conveyor could do that, I caused the damage myself and was trying to blame them, that there is physically no way this could happen, my alignment must be off, .... basically every excuse in the book. Well, the night before, when I had pre-rinsed my car, I had specifically washed the tires, so I knew for sure that the damage was not there before I went to the car wash Sunday. The guy took me inside and showed me a conveyor track that had a plastic bumper on the top, but clearly had rusted, rough, ragged metal right below the plastic bumper that easily could have caused the damage. Furthermore, the damage was straight across the rim/spoke, at the exact height of the conveyor guide. The damage pattern look like it either happened when pulling on/off the conveyor (really low speed), or while the car was running down the conveyor. It is not overly severe, and it probably would not be a huge deal, if they had just admitted that they caused the damage, but no, I was met with illogical arguments about how they never could have caused that, how it was physically impossible, and then blame, that I did the damage myself and was trying to accuse them. Well, I know for sure that I did not drive the car between the time I last looked at the rims, and the time that I looked again, other than to the car wash, and a half block to the parking lot where I noticed the damage. I know for sure that I did not hit anything during that short drive, so the only place this damage could have happened was at Mermaid. After being accused of being a liar, being played as an idiot, and the terrible experience, I do expect them to fix the damage. Moral of the story, touch-less can still cause damage, inspect your vehicle before you pull out of the lot, and be ready to be met with a terrible experience from this car wash if you do notice damage. It sucks that they caused the damage, but it really sucks to be played as a fool, and/or a liar.

They did not vacuum the trunk or clean the steering wheel . But the worst part is that they have 2 parrots( big parrots ) confined to a very small , noisy and dark room. They look sick to me. Animal abuse/ neglect in my opinion. I contacted the police departments look into it

I was not impressed with my Pearl package cleaning. My windows inside are smeared, they didn't even touch my center console area where there were some crumbs from eating on a road trip, and now my tires have a weird brownish substance on them. I get a better clean from an automatic car wash.

I had the most expensive "Non Car Wash" I have ever had at this Mermaid Business. For close to $16 they didn't even wipe down the dash or doors and left my floor mats full of salt from the Winter. I called and spoke with the Manager, who was less than helpful and said they don't do mats and only wipe off the top of the dash. I am irate at the attitude and poor value for the dollar. I intend to report them to the BBB. They are deceptive in that they don't inform you that they only do mats if you are having detail work done, or so the manager told me. I will tell everyone I know not to go there Octopus is infinitely better than Mermaid-Infinitely!!!

It's ok i guess. None of the full service washes compare to the service received 10 years ago these days. They just don't dry your car half as good. The dryer + hand drying just aren't up to snuff... Go when it isnt busy and ask to have some compressed air blown in all the major crevices where water leaks out after a wash to keep the ride lookin clean longer! U can ask when it's busy too but you might be seen as a PITA if u do. I do tho. W/e.

Can't believe they call this a car wash! They barely vacuumed anything and after there was crap all over the place-rockers, front and back seats, floors; dust on the front of the dash! And they didn't clean the inside of all the windows because there was an empty cardboard box in the back! Oh and they broke the lift gate plastic handle getting something caught in it-but oh no, not their fault!!! And there was a piece of paper that was stuck in the front tray area-they didn't clean out or touch it! "They can't touch those areas because some cars have key fobs in there"-really??? Then they wanted to re-vacuum and wash to make it better!! Yeah do the same crappy job over the same way-I think not! Had to almost beg to get my money back-at first they refused. Won't fix the plastic either! NEVER going there again! Lucky workers don't have to work very hard there so if you wash cars for a living go there! If you want your car washed in Madison best do it yourself!

So I called over yesterday to ask if they could wash my truck with a ladder rack on it I was told that as long as it was under 7' and there was no ladders on it they could wash it. When I get there Someone named Chuck radios out and says we can not wash that car. So I Go in to ask why they can't wash it and Chuck can't talk to me and sends another employee to come tell me they just can't wash it with no reason why so I spent 2 hours cleaning all the tools out of my truck for no reason thanks Chuck! Wish Mermaid would list their prices and services they provide online. They also do not accept any tipping. Well okay. But they did a nice auto car wash and personnel did a great job wiping down truck. They wiped down inside windows very well, but console wipe down was very minimal. No floor mat cleaning at all.

Sure the car is washed, but when it comes to the difference of the inside being clean, it's as if the staff are getting lazy to actually clean the interior. I'm disappointed. I come here whenever I need a car wash, as it’s the closest place to my house. They do an acceptable job on the basic drive-up packages and are generally quick. Today I had an appointment for one of their longer services, a 2-hour interior clean detail for $80+tax. I made this appointment 2 weeks ago. I dropped the car off at 8a. I had to wait in line with the drive-up cars which I find odd, they should have a lane for appointments. I left to do some shopping at surrounding stores since their ‘waiting area’ is 3 chairs in the lobby, and showed back up at 10a to pay and pick-up. It wasn’t ready so I sat down to wait. 15min later I went up to ask if my car were ready yet. The gal called out to the shop and they told her it would be another 15min. At that point a 2hr service was actually taking 2.5hrs, making me 30min late for the rest of my day. 3 stars. I knocked off another star when we climbed into the 2nd half hour after my car was due to be finished. If this service takes longer than 3hrs (originally scheduled for 2) I’ll knock it down to 1 star. I have very little give-a-damn that they were busy with drive-ups because they should have been staffed appropriately for my appointment plus their early morning rush - and when their manager saw that today was going to be sunny and clear they should’ve called more folks in to work, expecting to be slammed. Edit to add: took off the last star because they didn’t properly wipe the interior and my wheel, shifter, and brake have made my hands greasy AND when I got out of the car at home, my butt was damp. If my service took 45 extra minutes and it’s 30-something degrees outside, my seat better be dry as a bone.

I was just at the mermaid and was not impressed. I paid $26 and was told my floor mats would be washed. They did not wash my floor mats. I realize I’m not going to get a perfectly clean car but I have a new car and it just had some salty on the mats and some dog hair. The outside of my car wash great but the inside wasn’t. I’m not one to make reviews especially bad ones. But I paid $26 and the inside didn’t turn out decent.

It’s been a while since I’ve been to this car wash so I wasn’t exactly familiar with what kinda services they had so I asked for a normal car wash and the guy just immediately got attitude with me saying that’s not a option and was just super rude ... I mean all he had to do was suggest like what a standard service was or what the difference was in the options..... I understand it’s a hot day but there was no reason to treat me like that I was polite asked him how his day was ... he made me feel so uncomfortable I just left ... didn’t want nothing to do with that place after he acted like that and still told him to have a nice day as I left .... time was about 1:40 on the 24th ... I would recommend a more people friendly person who knows how many people just decided to leave instead of getting a wash because of this guys poor attitude

I received a 20 car wash coupon book as a gift a year ago, so I've got 20 basic washes to gauge my review over the course of a year. They've consistently met my basic expectation of cleaning my car, vacuuming it fairly well, & wiping it dry. It seems good practice to stick to the basic wash package because a lot of bad reviews seem to stem from unmet expectations on the more expensive wash options. Parrots have been in the lobby for as long as I can remember, and can say "hello" and "good-bye."

Just paid $25 for a carwash that was supposed to include cleaning the interior (wiping down interior, vacuuming, cleaning windows). While the car smells slightly different, the interior isn't any more clean. I honestly can't tell if they did anything to the interior? But they did have several employees standing around to hold doors open and stare vacantly. Honestly wish I would have saved $15 at the gas station car wash. Edit: a couple hours later, the car now smells like a wet dog.

First time here since moving to Madison. I have a Ford Explorer and got the full $10.50 wash pkg. when I got home I was very surprised to see the back was not opened and absolutely nothing was done. Carpet still full of grass, windows not cleaned and dust not wiped off at all. I called right away and was told “I” needed to ask specifically to have that done! Hmmm...guess I should have known for $10.50 to “ask” to have it cleaned front to back! Also in the front, they do not wipe out cup holders in the center at all!!!! They also do not remove or clean any garbage from the door sides. They were not busy, and more employees were talking than cleaning!! I too come from a mid size city with some outstanding car wash businesses, and feel Madison is lacking! Mermaid will get NO more of my business and I’ll let friends know it really isnt worth it there. Im seriously not that picky and not a clean car fanatic, but when you take my money to perform a task, I do expect to see u work at it!!!!!

Do not waste your time or money, went through didn't take off seat covers so they didn't vacuum seats, or wipe down more than take a wet rag and rub around inside of car. Just oversize outside of car carwash, with scent and full blown a.c. to give the impression of a clean car, DOUBLE and even Triple check.

For the midprice I expected some interior cleaming. Was told when it was returned that it only covered "top deck interior". So they didn't vacuum the interior or dust the dash or console, or empty trash. I'm not sure what they did with those hoses. Above average price for under average service.

It’s not worth your money here, majority of the workers just do a half fast job and does not even pay attention to detail and doesn’t know how to do a proper wipe down of a vehicle inside out. They just wipe down the excess water a little and nothing more. It’s better to use a drive through car wash and wipe it down yourself then pay $18 to have them do it and have nothing cleaned on your car. The only good thing is the smell good they put inside your car.

I bought Pearl Package ($18.25 + tax). It didn't clean (wash) the bottom (right below the car doors) at all. When I went in that part of my car had black streaks. The streaks were still there after the wash and after the wax. I'm very disappointed.

I was incredibly disappointed in their service. They didn't wash all 3 of the floor mats as I paid for. They threw everything that was in the trunk (mini van) into the back seat of the car. They did a terrible job of vacuuming and wiping down the van. When I complained to the manager I was given a free car wash and asked to come back when it wasn't so busy. I don't think that will be necessary.

Gone here good amount of times. And I had few different cars. Recently got a new car. It was a bit lowered. And theres guy that takes or order of the type of wash you wants. He will check to see if your car is still high enough to go through. Which he did, and I was good. But came back for the second time. On without even checking he just told me that I'm too low. And I had to go. So this review is for lower cars towatch out if they decide to lie to you.

Relatively OK outside wash here (but not good enough to rid you of baked on bugs), but prices are high, and there's a bit of work they should be doing when cleaning the inside of the car that's just not done... Fingerprints and dust on the dash and the like. Though it's not as bad as at other local establishments I could mention, if you have a compact car like me, sometimes it can slip the track in the wash. They seem to know about this issue, and leave plenty of space between small cars and the next auto that goes in.

Disappointing. I don't think I'll take my truck back here for a wash. When I got done my mud flaps still had mud on them as well as my passenger side mirror. The guys wiping it down afterwards did an ok job but I was expecting more considering how much it cost. I get better results going to kwik trip for a wash.

Took my car in to get washed and my car came out with a cracked windshield. Owner refused to take responsibility or cover it. Very unprofessional. POOR customer service. Would not return or refer.

They did a good job. Service was fast, car was cleaned acceptably well. If I want the car 100% immaculate I'll clean it myself, but I usually don't have the time. I'm paying for the convenience. If I go to a fast food restaurant I'm not going for the gourmet food. This place (and Octopus for that matter) are fine for what they are, nothing more.

Hesitantly took my new(er) vehicle to Mermaid. I was nervous the wheel tracks/machine would damage my wheels. Sure enough, wheels were scuffed when the wash was complete. I spoke with the manager and of course, neither of us could prove when exactly the damage was done. However I am very sensitive to the condition of the wheels from prior problems so I am confident they were not damaged when I entered Mermaid. Needless to say no resolution was offered. They are adamant it did not happen at Mermaid and I am adamant it did. There was no damage to my wheels before entering the wash. Their machine made contact with my wheels. Now there is damage. Seems pretty straightforward. No follow-up yet from the company, even after filing a complaint with the BBB. Doesn't seem like customer service is high on their priority list.

One thing that I miss the most about my previous hometown was the amazing variety and quality of car washes and car detail spots. This town lacks that greatly. This location is a place that I have tolerated just because most of the other locations are just as bad or worse. More often than not, they don't throughly clean the interior of the vehicle and even when you pay extra for a specific service, they do half hearted work. If you have the time and energy, do the interior yourself at a gas station vacuum and run it through their washer. It will be way cheaper and you will do a way better job than the crew at this place.

Terrible/awful experience. Didn't move for 25 minutes and come to find out the car wash broke down. Came back the next day and all they gave me was $3 off an $18 car wash. The manager was not apologetic or putting the customer first. TRUE customer service would have gave me up the wash for free or close to it. $3 off is a slap in the face. NEVER coming back.

DO NOT GET THE FLOOR MAT TREATMENT!!!! I was just there and paid to have the front and back floor mats washed. All they did was slightly power wash each mat and then place the mats in the car still very wet. My mats actually look dirtier than before they were washed.

Good price for a quick wash. I have been there 50 or more times and never clean the inside glass well. Looks good for s day but the next morning streaks. After two years and comments made they haven't fixed the glass cleaning issue.

Took a vehicle there before I returned it after I borrowed it while my car was getting repaired. They barely even wiped it down inside or out . I paid for the Pearl package just because I thought that they were going to do a better job . Big water spots all over the hood and sunroof, Waterspots on the windshield and I don't think that they even used a clean towel much less a dry one !!!

Very friendly staff. Outside of car looked great, but the inside was very poorly done. The 3rd row seats looked like it was hardly vacuumed nor were my cup holders, the inside of the windshield was still streaked, nothing had been wiped down on my seats, door handles, around the radio/heat controls or drive shaft. I don't expect a full detail, but I do expect my $20.00 worth.

I had my cellphone charger and battery jump pack stolen out of my car when I went there. Be sure to have everything of value taken out of the car before you go to this car wash. The wash itself was mediocre.

10 bucks for a decent car wash. They were very efficient and quick, but not very thorough. There were a few missed spots where they dusted and left some behind. I'll probably go to octopus next time.

Overall we had a good experience. First we stopped at the one on the east side. The service was pretty good but when we left we noticed that the trunk was still dirty. We called and asked if they could wash it again on the west side and the very friendly person gladly took down our license plate and told us to stop in whenever. When we got to the west side they quickly put us through and washed the car really great. I would have liked it if it would be been washed well the first time but great customer service!

The machine leaves steaks at different points of the car. Rags that are use to dry your car are used on the windshield. That leaves steaks in your line of sight. Over all not happy

I brought my SUV for a Pearl wash (top wash) getting it cleaned to sell. They tore my floor mats both froms because they didnt see the notch. and their clean was terrible I had to re clean it myself!

Absolutely the worst car wash I've ever experienced! Employees are rude, the car is NEVER totally clean and when I've asked for something to be cleaned that isn't the response has been a nasty remark and a half-assed effort with unsatisfactory result. Definitely not worth the price and never going back.

It was a very sad experience. It didn't look like a work of professional. I took their pearl package, though the car was cleaned but it felt as good as a gas station cleaning. The interiors were still dirty. There were still sand particles on seat, not vaccummed properly. I feel like my whole money was down the drain. Definitely a NO from me.
