Just had my car done and yet again, an awesome experience! Larry is the best and his crew/staff is always great! Been meaning to write one of these reviews for a long time and should have many times. Been going for many years and Larry has always been great! Great customer service, very personable, never pushy-does suggest but isn't pushy and "salesy". I like that, I have a mechanic to fix that stuff. This location is great! Always has been, I know when I go in, it will be a pleasant experience! Awesome awesome awesome! I have had so many bad experiences at other car shops, but the particular location in Golden always does an amazing job. They vacuum my car out every time, I get a free car wash, and since they have been seeing my vehicle, I haven't had to do a single repair. And they are always extremely fast and courteous.

Like pretty much every location, these folks handle your oil change, service, and various related needs-- and they do so with a welcoming attitude, a helpful, healthy manner of communication, and don't try to constantly "up-sell" unnecessarily; it's greatly appreciated. In addition to the above-- the price they tell you when you arrive is the same as what you'll pay (i.e., no shop supply fees and the like added on AFTER they lead you to believe that the advertised price is, in fact, accurate). Plus, the car wash here does the best job of any drive-thru I've yet found-- and for a maximum price of $8.00 to boot!

I just had the BEST customer service I have ever received in Denver and I have lived in the area for 23 years! Clay and his crew helped problem-solve an issue I was having with oil in the coolant of my car. He gave me his professional opinion, cleaned the problem area, topped off the coolant, and sent me on my way without charge. I service(d) both of my cars at this Grease Monkey because of Larry and his team. These guys deserve to be treated well and paid what they're worth. They're awesome. I can't tell you how great every experience dealing with them has been. However, Grease Monkey's corporate leaders are chasing Larry away. They're focused on metrics and not the customer experience. In the Army, we called this a toxic command climate. If this is the culture that Grease Monkey feels they need to impose on their service centers, I would recommend that the MBA's pushing this scheme relook their strategic value position. We, as customers, have many options as to where we service our vehicles. Customer service matters. Personal relationships matter. Quality matters. If these attributes don't matter to Grease Monkey, I'll take my business elsewhere. When Larry leaves, I leave. I will not use any Grease Monkey from this point on and I encourage everyone who reads this to do the same.

Perhaps it's because I've been coming to this same location since it opened, but I am welcomed, remembered, and I feel genuinely appreciated as a customer by the employees here. Pro tip: this is one of the only Grease Monkeys locations with a toaster oven and cookie dough. I make myself glorious gooey cookies every time :) Bonus points for a free car wash code with every oil change!

I had an oil change and changed the differential oil. That was perfect and done in a very reasonable time frame. However, they messed with the tire pressure, lowering it from 40/45 not sure exactly where my tire shop had it set to 30. Everytime I turned a corner or went around a curve my skid control came on! Stopped to check pressure because the back tires especially seemed like and sure enough. Why would you do this? Pretty mad about it, my husband is in Oxygen and couldn't help me put air in the tires, didn't have enough change to properly fill all tires AND by the time I got to the tire store they were closed. Probably won't be back.

Avoid this location (and possibly this brand). I've had several oil changes done here, no problem with those. I had to replace a set of brake pads as one of my front calipers had failed and was not retracting. I replaced the pads, then after 5000 miles I heard the lovely screech of metal-on-metal. I brought it in to Grease Monkey, assuming I'd done something wrong. I specifically told them that I believed a caliper was frozen. Upon completion of the work, they told me I had installed the pad upside down. *Not* backwards; the proper side of the pad was worn. Not having done my research, I assumed they were the experts and let it be at that, paying for new pads and rotors on the rear. 2200 miles and 19 days later, I heard the same metal on metal screech from the same wheel. I replaced the pads, and attempted to put them in upside down. It is far more difficult, and even the most casual of observers would immediately notice that the pad is oriented incorrectly. Just as I thought, it was a frozen caliper. I asked for a refund of what it would cost me to fix it: the pad cost and half the labor for pads/rotors. They agreed but the manager's tone was extremely dismissive. I had to follow up several times before there was any progress. I was told several times that it was someone else's fault, the paperwork was processing, etc. I was never given a specific point of the process to follow. Finally, I was told the check was in the mail and that it had been mailed overnight (this was Thursday). The only days I could visit the location were Monday and Friday; the next Friday I still had not received the check. I was told again it'd been sent two days prior, but this time I asked to speak with the district manager. He told me he would check on the process and follow up. I had to follow up one more time, whereupon I was told by the district manager that the check had been mailed. I started this process on December 30th, and did not receive this check until February 10th. On February 1st the store manager told me the check had been in the mail for 2 days. The date of issue on the check was February 4th. They will lie to you at this store. They will dismiss your complaint if you don't follow up repeatedly. Take your business elsewhere.

Bad! I went there for an oil change yesterday and they said they were too busy to do my car, they said they could give me some solar eclipse glasses but I'm blind! after I forced them to service my car it came out of the shop dropping black liquid and they said it was normal, today I started my car and the engine makes a terrible banging sound! Technician Lost my oil plug, then tried saying he thought maybe I didn't have one... Until I asked him... Well how did I drive it here with no oil in it. He finally said he found it but it wasn't the right plug and didn't fit properly so it got wrapped in thread tape and started leaking about a day or so later and I had to go buy another plug, dump the oil into an oil pan replace the plug and put the oil back. I'll never go back to a grease monkey. They obviously don't train their staff properly,, even to do a basic oil change.

I started going here after moving to Golden for school and after having some bad experiences with other places in town. Now, I recommend Grease Monkey to EVERYONE. The staff here is extremely personable and quick. They always greet me with a smile, and they know me by name. I get my oil done here, and they are always really quick. Their prices include all your normal fluid top-offs (plus fluid top-offs in between services), tire pressure check and correction, light check, vacuuming, and exterior window cleaning, and probably a whole host of other things I don't even know about. Other shops in town will lure you in with the promise of $20 oil changes, but it's not going to include anything but the oil change itself. These guys are great. There's no pressure to do any extra stuff, but a lot of times they'll give you discount certificates to get the bigger services done if your car is due. Plus, they always give me a carnation when I leave, which is just such a nice little thing to brighten anyone's day.

They gave me a discount for taking a little more time then expected for the last time that I went in. Which I didn't have any problems with the wait.
