This was my first time there. I always ask what the servers favorite is. Michael Lawson, General Manager, was very helpful and happy to explain some of the differences. My friend had his favorite, the Cuban and I had the chopped brisket. We were both pleased. I wanted to go there after seeing it on Diners, Drive ins and Dives.

The meat was tender, and easy to eat! I stopped here to eat on my way into Phoenix Arizona, and this was perfect! I found it on Diners, Drive-Ins, and Dives. I had the sweet patoto fries and they were amazing! I definitely recommend this place!

The brisket you guys... Oh my god the brisket you guys.. You want heaven in a sandwich? Order yourself a moist brisket sandwich, plenty of homemade barbeque sauces to choose from, with some awesome shoestring fries to tag along. This restaurant was featured on diners drive-ins and dives. Guy Fieri approved! And ill tell you what, he ain"t wrong! Awesome decor and gift shop to go with such memorable food. Thank you guys!

5/6/2019: Brought some friends (visiting from California) here (May 6, 2019) to try the BBQ because of Triple D. My wife and I were disappointed. I tried the hippy dippy burger (vegan burger) but it was dry. My wife got the 3 Little Pigs (one of each meat slider) but they were all dry. The little chocolate cream tart was good. The service was good. Parking is a little weird because of the gas station. Update 5/31/2019: The owner, Mike, contacted me re above review and sent me a gift card for us to try again. Spur of the moment after my hair appointment today we drove out here from Mesa to try again. It was outstanding! Hubby got the smokehouse salad and said it was excellent but even more so when he put some of the BBQ sauce (in a little container) by the soda machine in the salad. I got the rib platter with Mac-n-cheese and potato salad with 3 slices of sausage. Yummy. The Mac-n-cheese is the bomb, especially with the browned cheese on top. We got the cinnamon roll for dessert warmed up and it was fabulous. Soft and almost raw in the middle!! So good. The staff is great. Our cashier suggested the homemade mustard sauce to go with the sausage. We’ll be coming back with some friends. *Note: I’m not giving a good review just because Mike sent me a gift card. It was really outstanding today.

Been here about 3 times. Always come here for lunch after Ice skating next door. I enjoy their take on fries a lot, thin but flavorful. I enjoy their fish a lot it is probably the only thing I ever get as I'm a seafood junkie, seeing as I'm from Maryland, it is hard to find seafood that hits my standards but they do a great job.

My husband and I love this place!! We had the sliced brisket sandwich and it was to die for, their House BBQ is the best and the mustard sauce brought it to a whole new level. This place is the real deal my kinda BBQ. I had the ribs and the flavor was perfect with a hint of honey yummy. The slaw you can have it my favorite way with vinegar or you can have it with mayo. Corn bread is nice and light. Definitely going back again and again.....

This gas station is awesome! It's a gas station, a store and a place to eat some killer BBQ! This place most always has a line for the food so make sure your not in a hurry but hey its sure worth the wait. Also the guys from Tank on TV built them a pretty cool salt water fish tank that you can eat around.

A neat little BBQ place hidden in a gas station. I was told about this place by a coworker do decided to check it out. We arrived right as they opened. The staff were very friendly and informative on what each item on the menu was. I went for the 3 meat sampler with fries and baked beans. I got pulled pulled pork, pulled chicken, and the brisket. The brisket was decent, pretty lean, but good. It could have used a little more smoke I felt. The pulled pork and chicken were fantastic, super smokey, tender, moist. It takes a lot of willpower not to drive back up there every day for a pulled pork or chicken sandwich. The fries were surprisingly great. I wasnt expecting much, most bbq places tend to treat their fries as an afterthought. These were thinner, close in size to McDonalds fries, but super crispy and I absolutely love crispy fries. So dang good. The baked beans were great too. They were nice, sweet, and savory. The sauce sort of reminds me of manwich. I loved them. The sauces. I tried a bit of all of their sauces. I really liked their super spicy sauce, cant think of its name right now. All of their sauces were decent but to be honest, the meat was great without saucing it. Price wise it is on par with other places. You should check it out if you are in the area. I'd go early though, because the line was out the door less than 30 minutes after we got there.

What a fun place... Not only is it one of the coolest gas stations you'll ever go to (big chess, checkers, and tic-tac-toe set, fun signs and little keep sakes) but it has some delicious BBQ as well! The pulled pork was absolutely wonderful

Love this place! The pulled pork and mac n cheese were amazing. There is a bakery, gas station, cute little shop/ convenience store, & car wash. The shop had a wide variety of Papyrus cards, like the largest I've ever seen. They also had fancy candles/diffusers like you'd find at anthropologie. We will definitely be back. Hopefully next time I won't accidentally say hello to the mannequin at the entrance.

What more can be said than has been posted in other reviews. Unique shop/restaurant/gas station. BBQ was fantastic. Our group ordered the Brisket, Three Little Pig sliders, and Pigs and Grits. Three Little Pigs is a group of slider-size sandwiches and can be ordered with three different meats for the "tour". Pigs and Grits is a unique offering not to be missed. Healthy serving of grits with topped with pulled pork, cheese, and jalepeno maple bacon. We'll definitely be back.

When you walk in its a little confusing, not your average gas station! The Restaurant food is pretty good, and the prices on the standard gas station array seem a bit lower than other stations in the area. Overall a good experience and Pleasing to the eyes.

The ONLY thing that I do not like about The Thumb is that its so popular! But if you cone early on the weekend, you can get a excellent interior and exterior wash done inside a half hour. Expect to wait later in the day.

We visited this restaurant last year when in Scottsdale and made a point to return this year. We’ve had the tacos and bbq platter all great! The shop is very cute and the place is clean. All of the staff were very friendly and helpful. Mike was particularly nice to us and was bustling around the restaurant helping whenever possible. He convinced me to try the peach cobbler and it was very tasty .

This is a nice place to stop for gas, food and even a car wash. Inside there are several different styles of food spots including BBQ. There’s also a ton of souvenirs and other knick knacks/gifts to choose from. Some of the food can be hit or miss. The sandwiches are the best option for people on the go. The staff are friendly and courteous and the prices are reasonable.

My wife and I are in Arizona celebrating our 30th Anniversary and looked for Triple D places to try and found The Thumb. Wow, great food. I had the 1/2 Stack with the egg, very unique and delicious. Also had the sausage, pulled pork, beans and mac and cheese. Everything was great. The store had all sorts of cool things to buy. Would definitely recommend this place.

Fun spot to stop, we came in to check out the fish tank of Tanked and eat lunch. The fish tank was awesome! The brisket was decent, but not great. However, we did enjoy the mac & cheese. The Mexican corn was good but had too much butter on it. Overall, this place is worth the stop.

This place has some good BBQ. I've been here for lunch a few times and everything was great. However, it seems like maybe they are under new management and some of this service is degrading. I had ordered a BBQ sandwich here once and the twisty tie that hold bread bags closed was in my sandwich...when I brought this to the attention of the staff I was only offered a free dessert.

Wow! A restaurant that is in the convenience store of a gas station! This isn't the run of the mill Chester's Chicken that you'd expect in a gas station convenience store! Pulled pork sandwiches, bbq shredded chicken sandwiches, brisket! Their sides consist of potato salad, mexicorn, Cole slaw, shoestring potatoes, sweet potato fries, or potato chips. Gas up your car, get it washed, shop for some kitschy souvenirs, some wine and have a nice meal, all in one stop!

We had seen this place on Tanked. And we happened to be driving past on a Sunday family adventure day. You know; real estate looking, rural road running, and yay I have AC, it's August, let's take a drive day. The 95 octane race fuel at the pump for $6/gal. was something you don't find close to home, so stop here and load your race tune or timing. The smell when you walk in is amazing. And yes, that gets its' own paragraph. Check out the details of the place before you order or sit down. It's not a museum or art gallery. But it is a friendly set up to review the gift shop area, see a little bit of Americana art and watch the saltwater fish in the (guessing) 600gal. aquarium swim around. The environment ia friendly, casual, and not rushed. August is not the busiest time of year around here, so a winter stop will probably be busier. The stop we made involved taking home food, and I spent most of my time next to the aquarium while we waited. Keep your kids from touching the aquarium when they point out all the different fish, and details inside the tank like mine did. I picked up a gift for an upcoming family birthday. Since there are soaps, decorations, aprons, and a lot of other items, you will easily find simething cool too. I actually didn't adventure past the row of drink coolers towards the other end of the shop area, so go see more than I did. We took home cole slaw, mac and cheese, corn bread muffins, texas toast, fries, pork, brisket and chicken. With our to-go order, we had ketchup, house sauce, and some (really) hot sauces. Start with the house sauce. I like spicy, but the ultra hot ones aren't going to let your taste buds enjoy the smoked meats. Spill some on your shirt, so you can sniff it later. The perfect smokey fire smell is part of the experience of these meats. The meats we had were well cooked, and no better smell will be found. The cornbreads are very good, but we had them about 2 hours later, so try those when they're fresher. Same with the fries. You can tell they are well made, but they're just better when fresh. The mac and cheese has its' best part up top; a crispy but not burnt layer; very yummy. The texas toast was well received by my family, and it was a tasty accompaniment to the meats. Our order included a great cardboard carrying box, and all items packed in appropriate containers. We had a good experience here, and we'll be happy to visit for a while and pick up their smoked meats again. The stars are for a less than ideal response from staff.

I am a huge fan of The Thumb! I have been several times and the food is fantastic. The BBQ is some of the best I have ever tasted, the burgers are great, and salads are delicious! Above all is the great service! Sarah (with the cool blonde hair) is always pleasant and friendly as she orchestrates everything from taking orders to delivering the food with a beautiful smile! I will definitely be back!

This is not your typical, average gas station. It has a bakery, restaurant, gift shop, wine shop, truck/boat/RV shop, smokehouse and coffee shop. This definitely raise the bar of a fancy gas station. It was my first visit of the area and I was astonished of how it look. Definitely check the area out! It is amazing.

Pulled pork tacos - tasty. Drying guys - very nice chaps. Tunnel wash TOTALLY SUCKS and RUINS your finish if you really care about detailing. Can't comment about the hand wash, but the tunnel wash completely ruined my mirror-smooth, ceramic finish (CQuartz Finest) and speckled/hazed my windshield. I was able to partially restore the windshield smoothness with clay bar but it's still messed-up in clarity. I now have to clay bar and possibly have the paint correction and ceramic finish redone on the whole car. Dang, I really hoped to like this place (and tank 95 before track days) but they SUCK.

The meat is excellent! The sweet potatoes fries are great. The corn was delicious. However. The beans tasted like chili. The corn bread was a little dry and their house made Mac n Cheese was nothing but a bowl of cheese with about seven noodles. Overall the meat made up for these issues. And would come back to enjoy.

Who would’ve ever thought that a gas station would be able to provide not only gas, but everything else you could ever imagine. From the best food I have encountered in this part of the valley to little knickknacks that are great presents for those who are looking for a special treat. This is a one stop shop! I do need to, however, emphasize just how wonderful the food is. We live pretty close to this establishment, and have lived in the area for many years. I am so happy to of found somewhere where I know that I can get good food and a quick gift if needed, with the superior customer service.!! Thank you to all that work there and do your hardest to provide the best customer service setting around!

This place is great. The half stack (Eggs and brisket) is just right for me for a nice Saturday morning breakfast. Ordering your food is a little slow. Seems like they need 1 or 2 more people behind the counter to keep the line moving, but overall I am pleased with this place. I go here a few times a year when I'm in the area.

took my car for an interior detail ($59.99) wash yesterday. We started noticing that cars that were not in front of my car when we arrived where getting washed before ours. We ate and had a few drinks. After waiting for 2:05 hours my car was still outside; and nobody was washing it. I asked what was the problem (nobody knew) and how long it was going to take to get my car washed; one of they guys told me that it was going to take another hour and a half to 2 hours. We went back inside and tried to get our money back so we could leave. we were not willing to wait any longer. The cashier went outside and showed my ticket to Terri. He asked us to please give him 20-30 mins. He personally comitted to have our car washed. He was absolutly amazing. He did not only apologized for the delay, they did an exra fantastic job washing it; I am sure we had a few upgrades on the wash. He also mentioned that we had 5 days to return if we were not happy with the work they did (we are really happy) and did not even accepted the tip. It was not a good experience after all the waiting but that became irrelevant after meeting Terri. He is exceptional and it is becasue of him that I am sure we wil be back to wash our car again

This place was great for our whole finicky Family. I don't usually like BBQ, but since you get to choose from many different sauces, I was able to find something I liked. I mixed the habanero and mustard sauces together and it was very good. Also my non-meat eating daughter enjoyed her mac and cheese and French fries with a fruit cup on the side. Crazy good for a little place hiding in a gas station!

Maybe I caught them on a bad day? I got Tom's Brisket Stack, which implies that there would be a stack of brisket. There were two bites hiding between the eggs and potatoes. It was okay - for an appetizer at a chain restaurant - but not even close to what I was expecting from looking at the menu. Everyone else got the ribs, which were absolutely swimming in barbecue sauce and had the standard chain restaurant taste and texture. The only reason I know this is, people started moving parts of their lunch over to my plate when they saw how small my "brisket stack" was. The busser immediately seemed to notice the lack of food on my plate, because the first of the 8 times he asked if he could take my plate was less than a minute after I got my food. A moment later he tried to take someone else's plate while they were in the restroom. Not only was the plate not empty, it was barely touched at the time. We get it, you probably needed the table - but after spending $60 (with tip) on a mediocre lunch for three, it would have been nice to have a moment or two to actually eat it. BTW. Guy Fieri has been to every restaurant in the country for his show at this point. Someone should be able to look in at least one specific direction inside the restaurant without seeing his name, likeness, or merchandise for sale. That's just sad.
