Bought a car here last year. The staff was friendly and willing to listen to what I wanted. Was able to test drive and look at a few cars before I chose one. Since I bought a vehicle here, I got into their program of free oil changes for the life of vehicle. They also had a vehicle package for inside and out protectant which was good, since I have dogs that could potentially scratch my leather. Overall a good cat buying experience.

This is not Jacob, this is Brian his Dad and Owner of the Chrysler 200. I was interested in a Dodge Charger, to the point Jacob did a Credit check to co sign for me. They said my car was a Buy Back, and because of that, You could Not Help me to buy the Charger! Went to a different Car Dealership here in Sun Prairie, told them that and he said there is Not a Buy Back on the Car! Looked at the Stickers Van Horn put on the Car and there is No Buy Back but from a Private Owner! Will Tell Everyone I Know to Stay Clear of Van Horn in Stoughton! You Don't Even try Very Hard to Sell a Car! I had to ask Someone to get any Response from You at Van Horn!!!! Very Poor Relations between your Sales People and a Potential Buyer!!! BUYER BEWARE: I had the unfortunate pleasure to be a part of the vehicle purchasing experience with Van Horn. Our salesman, Ruben, was friendly and knowledgeable. The issue was with the manager, Don. Through out the test drive I noticed a noise from the rear end which Ruben confirmed. Don denied there was any sort of noise although his salesman confirmed there was a clicking like sound. We brought it back two days after purchase for inspection of the rear end, to be told the sway bar was making noise. Im not a mechanic (which Don made sure to reference multiple times) but I don't think the rear ended should make any noise. Don claims it meets WI safety inspection therefore it is fine. A 2014 vehicle which he claims is "an older vehicle will naturally have those noises." To make matters worse he wanted $175 to fix a head light that was clearly untouched since purchase.

From reading all the other reviews, honestly sucks that I didn’t get to see the 5 star Van Horn when purchasing our van. Showed up looking for a van that was on their website. Turns out the van was sent to their other dealership that day. Ok, no problem. I understand websites aren’t updated real-time, you gotta expect some of that going into a dealership and roll with it. So we start looking at inventory, listing out must haves. It’s at this point I get transferred from one salesman to another (Wade to Paul), which always sucks because you have to get the new salesman up to speed on everything, and I had to repeat all the same information on our trade ins that me and the other salesmen just spent 45 min. going over and putting into the system. Anyway, turns out there’s another van on the lot that meets our spec. Take it for a test run, drives good, pleasant experience all around on the test drive. So I’m at the point where I’m looking to buy it, and sit down to talk numbers on our trade ins, etc. We go back and forth, get to an agreeable number. I confirm the car is going to be detailed (dried food stick to the sunglass compartment), and a key fob issue we had discussed was going to be remedied by the tech. At this point I’ve been there for about 4 hours. I’ve held off telling the wife and kids to come down because my kids are very young and trying to contain young kids at a dealership is hell, but we need the wife’s car for the second trade in, so I tell her to come down. Wife comes down with our very young kids (we don’t live by family, else we would’ve dumped the kids off) so that they can confirm the other trade in. We’re all there for about an hour, have some preliminary paperwork signed, and it’s at this point where the salesman tells my wife (while I’m over at Jimmy Johns getting everyone dinner) that, “oh by the way, the car was in an accident.” It’s this exact moment where Van Horn loses credibility and an otherwise good experience with a nice guy turns into a bad experience with a “used car salesman.” Could I have walked away? Sure. But I’ve already invested a literal 6 hours of my day into this, my entire family has been there for an hour, and we like the van - which is EXACTLY what Van Horn knows. In the end we purchased the van; but I definitely came away with some whiplash and feeling taken advantage of. Also - remember when I confirmed the car would be detailed and the key fob issue would be taken care of prior to us leaving with the van? Turns out the tech is gone for the day, so we’re going to have to come back in another time to get that done. And there is still dried food stuck to the sunglass holder, so I’m not sure what “detailing” means to Van Horn, but a big glob of food seems like a “detail” to me. With so many dealerships out there looking to truly and honestly take care of you (I’ve been to them before, they actually exist), I would not recommend Van Horn.

Buying is a process I've walked away from many times. Thanks to Wade Carrell at Van Horn Chrysler, this time I was able to walk THRU. Also Wade worked out ways, with my disability, for me to receive all the perks of a sale that a "regular" (not disabled) customer gets! He's exceptional, very trustworthy, we signed blindly that day but all the numbers were right when we got home. I could not be happier with the sale/service - and I LOVE LOVE LOVE my new base model Dodge Grand Caravan -it's a very thoughtful car.

I am very disappointed with the service I received purchasing our new Pacifica from Van Horn Chrysler in Stoughton,WI. They couldn't get the paperwork to print correctly so we either had to come back another day or have it delivered, but the vehicle had a recall that wasn't taken care of before we got there, so we couldn't take the van home with us. They had to have the van delivered to our house. When the delivery people showed up they were going to use the hood of the new van to sign the contract. They were very unprofessional and a little rude too. My wife was upset with the whole thing and was ready to cancel the deal. To top it off I just noticed that they put the front license plate bracket on crooked. I don't think I'm going to be purchasing another vehicle from them.

Update: I recently visited for some work on my car and was waiting while the work was done. The renovations to the waiting area are complete and it is a vast improvement over the old area. I bought a 2016 Dodge Charger Scatpack from this place that I later discovered was used at a performance racing school(Bondurant). I would closely examine it with a fine tooth comb before considering purchasing any performance Dodge vehicle from this place. Check the CarFax, if the car came from Arizona, then there is a good chance it came from that school. Hope this helps.

Was there as attracted by the listed price in their website as we were looking for a van for the expanding family. Full of questions when arrived as some dealers provide you nice numbers to bring you there but will scare you with a much larger OTD number. Worked with Paul to make the deal. he is very professional and honest and there are no tricks and hiding fees at all! We made the purchase with a price much better than provided by other dealers. We don't want a package which is popular in most of the vans we looked and Paul helped to look around and eventually was able to get the right car we wanted by trading with another dealer. Definitely recommend Van Horn and recommend Paul if you are looking for a car that they carry. Forgot to mention, they provide lifetime oil change for the new cars. That makes a great deal even better!

My experience at VanHorn was nothing short of amazing. Paul was a great sales great. Very friendly, very personable, and did not make me feel pressured into anything at all. He assisted me with all questions that I had prior to, and during the sale. He was prompt with replying to any emails, messages, or request I had made. He and the other staff (finance, detailing, service) stayed beyond normal operating hours to make sure I could get out in my new vehicle without having to make an hour long return trip the next day.
