I have called this dealership in the past trying to trade out of a leased vehicle and we couldn't make a deal (not their fault, it's hard to trade a leased vehicle without being extremely upside down) however, I thought I would call them again and purchase a NEW F350 straight out, no trade .I spoke to a salesperson and explained what options I was looking for and waited (actuallyI am still waiting on a return phone call, a week later) I even called back trying to speak to the same salesperson and still no returned call. Had my truck for a month. The engine was messed up. 2005 Ford 37,000 miles. The engine was not a one time thing with this ford truck. Should have been a recall problem. Had to pay 3081.00 to have truck fixed. However JR Toothman is a good business man and for my inconvenience gave me a deal on the cost. $500.00 off the bill.

Bought a 2018 Escape today with the help of Tyler McMillen. Had appointment, so there was no wait. Entire process took under two hours. Everyone was polite and friendly, and there was no pressure to add more, spend more, etc. Vehicle included the Toothman Powertain Warranty, and I knew from researching ahead of time that the value for the price was as good as it gets. "Checked everything over" and needed an additional $500 worth of parts and service(not including what they didn't fix that they knew about.... additional $135). Waited 2 weeks for a reimbursement check that never got mailed until I called and asked about it...not happy

I like Toothman Ford, have had good experiences there with my fiancee's vehicle & purchasing. Last experience was not great. Got a call saying they had an "independent buyer" paying above trade value for trade-ins. Drove the 45 mins to get there, only to be evaluated at $500 below KBB, $500 below KBB instant cash offer, and $1000 below another dealership offered me for the same trade. Needless to say, I left. Wouldn't have been a huge deal if they didn't stress this "independent buyer paying above trade value"

While this is not the closest Ford dealership to my Fairmont WV house, I believe the 25 minute drive is very worth the additional travel time. 1.5 years ago, in 2017, when I was a visitor to WV from WA state, I was impressed with the quality and friendliness received when I had my Explorer serviced. As a new resident of WV, I returned to Toothman Ford for service and minor repair to my 2000 Explorer yesterday. Again, I was impressed with the ease of making an appointment on line and the friendliness and quality of service. Also memorable was that the TF service manager did not “nickel and dime” me for minor work done and actually provided a “military” discount. I will be returning for future work on my car. P.S. It was also a nice drive through the WV countryside.

Sam took great care of us. He was sensitive to our preferences, patient, and made it an overall enjoyable experience. He made sure we had time to discuss our decision and was helpful during the whole process. You can tell that customer service is a priority as he made sure there was plenty of gas and took it through the car wash before I drove it home. We drove in from out of town, made appointment ahead of time, had call to confirm we were still coming night prior, and morning of appointment. Arrived and inspected the truck thoroughly and test drove it, discovered a couple of mechanical issues. One being exhaust manifold issue. As soon as this fault was mentioned to the sales guy and sales manager, they then acknowledged the issue and claimed that the truck was due in for service the next week.. repair is an 8 hour job. but yet it was for sale and they knew I came from 7 hours away. Would have been a known issue. This dealership clearly did not want to sell to us after this issue was discovered...hoping an out of town buyer would be a yes buyer and therefore do not disclose facts in the hope a buyer will accept sub par vehicle... ask all questions up front.... also surface rust over sprayed during detailing too.... be aware.... and inspect closely.

Terrible experience. I called ahead, and explained that I live over 2 hrs away and this would require a "day trip" as well as time off for my wife and I to make the trip. I attempted to haggle them on price from $34,000 down to $32,000 with no trade. I was told, the best they could do was $33,350. I asked about simple rain guards for the windows at cost (no deal). I called when I left home, giving them time to prep the vehicle. When I arrived with cash in hand, the truck was ready. Dirty inside and underneath. My wife found a drywall / dust mask in the truck. I inspected the under carriage and found mud (caked). Under the hood was sprayed and mud from underneath was splattered. Never once did anyone except our salesman speak to us (until we signed the paperwor). I asked about a full tank of gas for the road and was told no, however another buyer was a few desks over and was told that they had gassed up his vehicle for him. My wife and I sold the truck to ourselves and looked outside of the box. We came with money in hand and they literally had to simply sign the title to us. Never again at TOOTHMAN *** June 18, 2019. It gets worse. My temp tags expired June 15, 2019. By law (I believe) they have 30 days to complete title work. They provided me with a 60 day temp tag and assured me I would have paperwork within 45 days. I had to contact them several times to get the ball rolling. I received incomplete paperwork from them after 45 days which caused delay. J.R. Toothman provided me with his personal cell phone (after my first review), and told me to contact him if I had further issues. He did send a fuel card as a good faith gesture. However, when I was having issues obtaining title work, I text him and never heard back. I finally received title work on June 12, with 3 days to spare. TERRIBLE EXPERIENCE

After hearing all the commercials on the radio about how they’ll but your car even if you don’t buy one from us. I decided to see if they would buy my jeep. I first went onto their website and filled out the form with all the information, year, miles, condition, any modifications etc. I was then called by Toothman Ford since they couldn’t give me a price for my jeep online because it was lifted, and they wanted to schedule an appointment for me to come in so they could look at it. During this phone call I again gave them all the same information that was asked on website including year, etc. I thought that was reasonable for them to want to look at it since it was lifted, so I set up an appointment to have them take a look at it. I got there and they took it for a quick drive. When they got back, they said they could not purchase it themselves because of the year. He said they would make a few calls to some of their other contacts and those contacts gave me a stupid low-ball offer of half of what I ended up selling it for. I thought that it was ridiculous that they were not upfront about the fact they personally would not be able to purchase the vehicle because of the year and then to have someone else give me a ridiculous low-ball offer. I went there understanding that I would not get bluebook because they would have to make a buck, but to offer half that’s crazy.

They used to be very good but have gone down hill! I had an emergency brake situation, and they couldn’t get me in for over a week! They also acted like they were doing me a favor looking at me vehicle and that I was a bother. I went to another local brake place before my routine service inspection to make sure I was safe until I got to Toothman. I had Toothman double-check my brakes (during a regular inspection that took 3 hours to complete), and they said it all looked fine. I mentioned that my brakes were intermittently working incorrectly, but they still found nothing (apparently they only did a visual check despite the issues I detailed for them). Fast-forward to now and brakes still don’t work right, but Toothman sure keeps calling trying to sell me new vehicles! They also cracked part of my front dash on an earlier repair but never bothered telling me. I won’t be going back. I used to trust their work and feel valued as a customer but they don’t deserve my business anymore.

I usually have a good experience at Toothman Ford when getting my truck done. Was there only an hour. The only problem is that they put a big scratch down the side of my driver door and tried to rush my out the door with out notifying. I had to have a radio module put in, but the steering wheel buttons do not work with the radio. Sometimes my phone will work on the blue tooth and the radio say some kind of error when you start the truck. I am not as happy with them as I have been in the past. I have bought three vehicles from them and have been very happy. I have thought about taking it back, but don’t want to get the run around again.

Made an appointment to view a used truck. Confirmed the morning of the appointment that the truck was still available and that I would be coming at the pre-arranged time to view the truck. Upon arrival to the dealership, they seemed unprepared for my visit and was told the truck was at the other location. Followed the salesman down the road 10 minutes to the other location just to be told that someone else had come and put a deposit down on the truck before my arrival. A total waste of an hour long drive down just to be told the truck I was scheduled to see was instead gone. Edit: After giving a one star review after the above experience, I was called by Donnie of Toothman Ford. He wanted to get to the bottom of what had transpired earlier in the day. After discussing the details with him, it was clear the problem had been due to an internal miscommunication on the status of the vehicle. Donnie apologized for the error and then offered to help rectify the situation in any way he could. After some more discussion, we came to a preliminary agreement on a truck similar to the one I had previously wanted to look at. Can't thank Donnie enough for his quick action in helping to correct the previous mistakes.

I actually bought a car here. This place made me feel almost as bad about myself as john howard did. At least toothman did actually sell me a vehicle. Only problem is had to have it fixed first 2 weeks, get it back and it's still not fixed, and not detailed like they said, now it's been more than a month and still haven't heard from the service manager, dont expect to either. It was like pulling teeth to get them to do what their commercial says they do.
