I was in almost 2 months ago and test drove the Buick Encore. I worked with Hank Barnes. He was very attentive and clearly the customers needs are his priority. The financing did not work for me at that time, however Hank stayed in touch. He called me to let me know that knew this time he had the vehicle and financing I needed. I was very pressed for time, I work 2 jobs and needed to get from one to the next quickly. I arrived at 3:30pm and was out by 5pm. Extremely disappointed with this place. During my brake replacement I was told it was absolutely necessary to replace my Ebrake as it had fallen apart on one side and i paid them do so. Thankfully i never used my emergency brake but i have moved out of state and my inspection failed...my ebrake was non-existent. They never tightened my connection thankfully I was never in an emergency where I needed it but the laziness and pure neglect of the staff to not finish the job just says it all. Would be nice if they called me back to explain themselves but they wont return phone calls. Avoid this place unless you dont care for your safety.

Today we bought a car here. We are older customers, in 10 years, we bought 5 cars from this dealership. We were always satisfied with all the cars and services at this dealership. We always worked with, Hank Barnes whom we highly reccomend. He does his job very professfionally and his job is always satisfactory. Today, however, we are a little disappointed with a female sales manager (who we wont name here). She did a very unprofessional job, and did not respect us and our needs. She offered us different typed of insurance, which we did not want, and was very persistant that we get it. We kept declining, and when she finally gave up, she was very upset that we didnt get the insurance. She did not congratulate us or thank us for our time and money for this company, and was overall very unfriendly with us after that incendent. I would not want this person as a sales manager. ALSO watch out with keys: always ask for a second key. Dont believe them when they say that they dont have a second key, they will make you pay for a key, when really they have extras!!!

I bought a 2019 Cadillac xt5 last October and paid almost 70k. Call to make an appointment and they don't offer a free loaner?! I live 2 hours away and do not sit to wait for any vehicle. I'd rather be shopping. Very disappointed. Will not return for service or to purchase another vehicle, even though my husband was thinking of getting a GMC truck within the next 4-6 months. I purchased a Chevy Equinox at Sheerer Chevrolet and everybody that helped me from the moment that I walked in the door to the moment that I left was very kind and helpful. Let me start by talking about the man that sold me my car, Ryan Kronenberger. He was very kind and genuine and never made me feel pressured or rushed. He was patient with my numerous questions and if he didn't immediately have an answer for anything he was very quick to find the answer. He was incredibly down-to-earth which made the car buying experience very relaxed which is a true feat given that I've had some very bad experiences at other dealerships in the past. Not only that, but he got me the vehicle I wanted at the price that I wanted without me feeling like I was being jerked around. I'd also like to mention the amazing service that I received from the sales manager, Scott Brace. Not only was he very patient and honest with me when I had multiple questions when it came time for me to sign contracts... but he graciously offered to go with me to bring my old car in (which was a lease) back to the dealership. I was nervous to go there due to my last experience there and I was afraid I was going to get taken advantage of... the following day, he was there by my side to ensure that didn't happen this time! Talk about going above and beyond! Last, but not least, I'd like to take a moment to recognize Sue Madigan. When it came down to finding a loan for me to purchase my vehicle, she did her research! She also managed to get my car payments down quite significantly by re-evaluating my financial situation.

What a fantastic team! After having terrible experiences with two other dealerships in the past, we spent a year working with Josh and Mike to put us into a vehicle that both met our needs AND fit into our family's budget. The paperwork process was also efficient (which can take forever in most dealships) and we were in our new vehicle in less than two hours from test drive to putting on plates. Just got a brand new Chevy Fleet van from here a few weeks ago. Van is nice but they took forever putting our plates on and had us standing outside in the cold while doing so. They had one poor guy trying to put on 14 license plates on all by himself. He was great but Def could of used some help. There was plenty of employees sitting around inside doing nothing. Also the vehicle was almost empty on gas. Now when ever I've bought a car I've always left the dealer with a full tank. With the amount of $ that was spent , probably over $200,000 you would think a full tank would be a complimentary service. I'd say they came off to me on the cheap side.

Amazing service center. The staff is great and Dennis always remember me when I come in. A huge plus is the free shuttle so you're not asking someone to pick you up and bring you back. The shuttle drivers are awesome and when I forgot my house key they drove all the way back to the dealership and back to retrieve them for me!

I'm nearing the end of my 1st lease with GM and was very unhappy with being told that to purchase my car required me to go upside down on a loan and pay $3000 more for the vehicle (residual value) than the car is worth according to KBB. I'd buy this car if the price was reasonable, but it is not.

I had an excellent experience at Shearer Chevrolet buying a new Bolt LT. They were able to meet a screaming offer from another dealership, patiently helped me get through some hiccups with insurance and my pre-approved loan, and got me out the door with the car before closing, even though I walked in mid-afternoon. Nick Certo is their guy for EVs, and a huge part of my positive experience was shaped by working with him. I've read over and over that a lot of traditional dealerships don't know how to deal with their EVs because they are a different beast than gas-powered cars, but Nick definitely knew the ins and outs of the Bolt. He was patient, helpful, and did not give off any of that pushy salesman vibe. When I had to make a run into town to pick up a check from the bank, Nick even made sure I didn't have to Lyft/Uber there and back.

10/10! 5/5! Whatever the maximum rating is that I can give, I’m giving it! Bryon helped me buy my first car today and he was no less than exquisite. He went above and beyond to fill all of my ridiculous requests and assist me when I had no idea what I was walking into. The car I was interested in came with seat covers, and my final offer on the vehicle was “I’ll take it, but only if you put on the seat covers on for me.” He said “deal”, we shook hands, and after the car was cleaned and the paperwork was finalized he spend a solid 45 minutes helping me properly place my new seat covers. He’s a man of his word! Not to mention, he helped me figure out how to use the new Bluetooth system in the car as well. And there were cookies to boot. He should be promoted for all the help he gave me today. I was his main concern until I drove off the lot. I wouldn’t trust anyone else with a purchase like this. Thanks for all your help, Bryon! Most recently, I was in for service and realized that my family and I are consistently treated honorably and fairly. Excellent sales staff that educates instead of sells, service staff that explains and serves, a support staff that is friendly and helpful, and an environment that is open and inviting. Service Manager was very good, however when I went to look at the tire and the hole the shop personnel were defensive and mildly confrontational when discussing how my tire could have gotten a hole where it did considering i was on the highway, it was 3 inches up the side of the tire. They should have walked me through use cases where it has happened in the past. Certainly not customer facing employees and it will certainly impact our family's decision to purchase vehicles from this dealership in the future.

These people are truly wonderful. Not at all what you might expect from a car dealership. They are courteous, patient, not at all pushy; respectful of the decision making process and the time that that can sometimes take... They explained everything as clear as a bell, and there were none of the unpleasant hidden surprises that often come up in the car-buying experience. My salesperson (Travis) took the time to answer all my questions and when he couldn't access an answer he went to find someone who could. Great service. After I bought the car I went back for the auto-armour and glass-coat and they treated me with all the attention they would give a prospective car buyer, even though I had already purchased mine. When I needed them a week later to help me correct an error (that I had made) they were very understanding and took care of my problem. I never thought visiting a car dealership could be this pleasant. I strongly recommend the Shearer team.

It was incredibly easy to schedule our appointment using the myChevrolet app - NICE JOB WITH THE TECHNOLOGY! The team at Shearer exceeded expectations. We originally told Ryan and Austin that we did not need the vehicle back until 2:00 p.m. but in fact we needed it back by 12:00 noon. We called and asked for the car to be done by noon and received a call back around 11:00 a.m. saying that the service was complete and we could pick up the car. Thank you Austin and Ryan!

OVER PRICED!! PURCHASE ELSEWHERE! Leased a sierra denali and after trying to dump it on lease trader I found out how bad I got smoked by Shearer. My $800 payment is $300 over most sierra denali on swapalease. I have always purchased my vehicles out of state in the past due to cost savings. Stay away from this dealership they scam me $242.80 with an oil change and air filter which was never been done I drove an hours away just to get a service there. 3 hours waiting I was there then drove home after the service not performed and check my oil and filter it was still dirty and the oil was dirty same level as before the service. I like shearer...they worked hard to find me a car and get payments that were low, however I would not recommend their service center unless you maybe talk to cory he seemed to know what he was doing and didn't give me the run around as the other guys did little do they know I think I knew more about cars then they do...Paul and Chuck from the credit acceptance thing are pretty awesome I love my car and have had no problems with it. Hank is awesome too when I go there it almost feels like family its nice.

My sales experience was excellent. I would give sales 5 stars if I could. I can’t say enough good things about sales. Unfortunately, contrary to what Shearers website says, the service quality stopped there. I had my new truck for only a few weeks and had a small issue with a dealer installed bed cover. I spoke to a person in service and had questions on how we could fix it. Since I am over an hour away the service guy suggested I send him pictures of the damage. I emailed him like he said and got no reply. That was the last and only time I spoke with service. They wouldn’t return my messages or respond to my emails. I even emailed the service manager and the general manager. Finally got a call from the service manager with no apology until I mentioned my frustration and disappointment. I never did hear from the general manager. I feel bad for the sales department, they did a great job but I will not be recommending Shearer to anyone after my experience with the service department. I’m sad to say the service quality did indeed stop after the sale.

I went to Shearer trying to get out of my lease with Ford (I was having lots of problems with my car and the lack of customer service provided by Heritage). I met with Skip, an awesome salesmen who thoroughly answered all of my questions, and was extremely helpful. I went to Shearer Chevrolet because an ad was posted for a very good lease deal. When I arrived the first thing the salesperson told me after speaking with the manager was that the car for that ad wasn't in inventory. He then tried to show me instead a much more expensive 2016 model. The car I wanted was in fact on the lot, which the salesperson eventually showed me after I had to pull up the ad and point to the fact that it listed 4 cars in inventory under the lease deal I came in for. So, the conversation started out with a lie. Obviously this is the classic "bait and switch" dealership move. For about 45 minutes the salesperson continued to try and give me reasons as to why I couldn't have the lease deal from the ad - at one point he even told me the sales manager said that he doesn't put the ads up and that it was a "mistake". So, apparently Shearer does not take responsibility for the accuracy of their advertising. This was completely transparent and infuriating. At the end of a long back and forth conversation the salesperson finally did offer me a good lease deal - it was not what the ad stated but nevertheless, it was a good deal. I would have accepted it had the route to get there not been so circuitously deceptive. By that point, however, I was so frustrated by the sales approach that signing any lease deal with them was not in the least palatable. I expressed so in an email and received no reply. In essence, my impression is that at Shearer Chevrolet in South Burlington, using underhanded "bait and switch" sales tactics and blatantly lying to the customer's face is acceptable. This negative experience was enough to prompt me to write a review and I would advise people to be wary there.

I was told first that the truck I called about was not at the dealership. (the dealer had pictures up of the truck) Then I was told the truck was in the body show by another sales guy because of damage to the rocker panels. The pictures showed no damage which would have been evident due to the truck having running boards which would also be damaged. I have never met a more dishonest sales team. Why wouldn't you want to sell me a truck? I highly recommend going elsewhere for a vehicle.

Horrible. Made the mistake of leaving my number on the website, had to deal with multiple calls and texts daily. Finally drive the hour and a half to look at a vehicle, and nobody said anything to me in the lobby for twenty minutes. So I figured I would leave, just to have my phone blow up again. Was told that they would beat any trade price I got from Plattsburgh. After TWO hours got a trade in value 20% less than our tiny town of Plattsburgh. Nobody knew what was going on. Never waste my time there again

I leased a Chevy Silverado 1500 from Shearer Chevy Last September. My salesman was Hank Barnes, and he took great care of me during the entire process. I didn't know what I wanted exactly and he took me through all the different trims and packages. Hank has fantastic product knowledge, and I would highly recommend him. The Managers Chris and Dan got me a great deal, and actually lowered my payments from my previous lease, which was a less expensive car. Fantastic! When I arrived they said that he wasn't in and brought out a different salesman who didn't seem to know or care why I was there. The appointment was set to appraise my current vehicle and see if they could get me into something new "at the same or lower price." I told the salesman what my goal was same price newer crew cab. He told me that they had 2 options. Both well more than my current terms, but I have a growing family and needed more room. I explained that my vehicle is essentially a mobile office. He proceeded to tell me about how this thing is loaded and has everything that I could need. I am not a negotiator so I assumed that this is the only vehicle on the lot that will fit my needs and I needed to get back to work we did the deal. One hour after delivery I realize that this "loaded" truck does not have XM radio which I need to run my business from the road. I am frustrated with myself and the salesman for not asking or disclosing this specific detail to me. I assume that I just can't find the XM, so I go on the Shearer website and find the they have about 90 crew cabs on the lot and most of them have XM, and many well below the price of the options I was given. So I call the dealership and leave a message for the salesman. While I am waiting to hear back I receive a generic email from him asking me to give them all great reviews and if I have anything other than great reviews to call them. I called 2 more times over the next day attempting to reach the salesman. on the third day I get another email asking me again to give them great reviews and to call if I had anything other than great things to say. This time I reached another salesperson who asked what the problem was, when I explained the situation he recommended that I go to Best Buy and buy a portable XM radio to install. This really upset me, as at first I was not told that the vehicle didn't have it, then am told that the fix is for me to go buy something else after just purchasing a $53000 truck. Now I decide that I am going over the salesman and going to deal directly with the General Manager who clearly would want to keep my business as this is the 3rd vehicle in 4 years that I have purchased from this dealership totaling roughly $150000 not counting all of the years of service on those vehicles. Apparently the General Manager returns calls just like the sales team. After never hearing back from the GM and growing more angry and frustrated by the day, I finally get a text from the salesman asking my to come in because he has a solution. When I go in his solution is for me to download an app to my phone and use my cell plan data to get XM through my phone. This sends me over the edge. I tell him that if they do not put an XM radio in the vehicle that I will never do business of any kind with Shearer Chevrolet ever again and will tell everyone who asks not to go to this dealership after the way I was treated. The salesman goes inside and calls the GM who tells him that they can install the XM radio which is a $450 job and only charge me $350. I will never do business with Shearer again and may never buy another GMC is this is how all dealerships treat customers.

First impressions are everything... and this place sure didn't leave a good one. I called the service department to see how much they would charge to "trigger" the TPMS (Tire Pressure Monitoring System sensors) on my late-model vehicle (not purchased from here). I called the service department and the lady who answered seemed okay at first. She had no open appointments today, but said I could come in next Monday at 2 PM. I told her I'm starting a new job on Monday and asked her what the service department's hours were, and she immediately got very rude, saying "the hours of the service department are very different from the available appointment times". I explained to her that I simply wanted to know so I could get a rough idea of options. She said she'd make me an appointment for 2 PM, and I explained to her again that I don't think I can make that, and she said to call and cancel if I couldn't. This is where it gets worse... I asked her if she knew roughly how much it'd cost, and she said, "well, it'll be about the same as reprogramming a key... so $50 for the service, plus we charge $90/hr for labor, and it will take about 30 minutes". WHAT? $95? The tool to trigger the sensors costs $75 on Amazon, and it literally takes 5 minutes. You put the car into the training mode (easily done using the DIC buttons), and hold the tool next to the tire, press a button, and the horn chirps. Repeat the process for the other 3 wheels. A 4 year old could do it. I explained to the lady and she became very agitated, saying that this was the cost of the service and that was that. I told her no thanks and that I'm not interested. I understand that dealerships need to make money, but her attitude was an immediate turn-off. My car had other service needs, I was hoping the dealership would just take care of the TPMS sensors as a courtesy, but forget it. $95 for a 5-minute job that requires no "labor" other than walking around the car is just asinine. I'll buy the tool myself so I'm not paying $95 every time I switch my tires (which I do myself). If you want my advice, stay far away from this dealership. They won't have a positive attitude with you when you talk to them on the phone... and they clearly don't want your business.

Beware of this place! This is the account of my experience. On a Saturday we came together on a deal for a used truck. We agreed on the upcoming Friday for me to take delivery. On Monday my wife says the dealership called and wants me to come that afternoon to pick up the truck. Having worked all night that wasn't possible. Then they call back and tell me that another salesman who knew the truck had already been sold went ahead and sold it to someone else. To say the least I was very upset. Then they call and say the other customers deal fell through. I still wanted the truck so we moved forward. We did all the paperwork, got approved for financing even got it insured. So then they try an get us to pick it up earlier than Friday. I say no as Friday is my next day off. They then offer to deliver me the truck the next day. They admitted they wanted to complete the sale by the end of the month for sales numbers. I agreed and set up a time for 1 o'clock the next afternoon. Great so I thought, the next day after working all night I get up expecting to be getting my new truck that afternoon. I got an email from the dealership reminding of our one o'clock appointment. Then it all falls apart. They say with it being the end of the month push they can't deliver the truck. So I say no big just bring it on Thursday Friday or Monday as I was in no hurry. They then say they can't bring the truck at all! All because they had someone else who wanted the truck. Threw my deal out the window. Lies all lies. Very very unprofessional and rude to boot. Absolutely the worst car buying experience I've ever had. They'll dispute this but I assure you it's true and I have the emails to prove it!

I've purchased two Chevrolet's under warranty. I hold my car in high regards and take meticulous care of it. They could not diagnose a whistle that I had told them was coming from the boot on the steering column in my 09 Silverado. They got frustrated and told me to bring it elsewhere. My 2011 Camaro has also been refused to be service as they had to pay me for ruined paint after they clamped a wheel alignment tool onto my rims. I did not ask for an alignment either. I was written a check and told that my car was to delicate and they would no longer work on it at Shearer. I wrote to corporate office and William Shearer himself. I recieved no response from the owner. GM states that as a franchise they can choose not to service a car. So if you get a car from them they can choose NOT TO WARRANTY yours at any time. Thieves!

I have never had a problem at shearer, an the service dept. until this last service. I brought my truck in on a Friday for a recall issue and was told it may take up to 5 hr so I left it at the dealership. Well the issue was I never heard from anyone all day as to the status of my truck and I called multiple times and just got a automated message to call back during normal hours. I was able to finally leave a message and no one ever called me back that day. So I had no Idea the condition of my truck and it messed my family’s plans up for the whole weekend, late Saturday morning I received a call saying it was done and I could pick it up. When I called the dealership to have them possibly just put my keys in the truck so I could pick it up after hours, I was told “Well there is no one here to do that so no”. It sacs me to say that the customer service here is awful, because I came to Shearer for the customer service but it has been awful.

To the owner: was definitely a little bummed out by my most recent experience and wanted to give some feedback. I've had good experiences with your service center in the past, but this one was just a headache and took up too much time out of my day. I had a 1:15 seasonal tire changeover / mount & balance, so I dropped the car off at 12:30 and they said it wouldn't take too long. I get a call at 2:00 saying that there is a significant issue with my car--told them that particular problem would have to wait until another day since I was busy and didn't have time to give it proper thought, and that we could talk more about it when the car was done with the tire changeover and balancing. I finally get another call at 4:00 saying the car is ready. Definitely took longer than anticipated, but when I get there they didn't have any paperwork ready, and the advisor was apparently at a meeting so I (the customer) had to wait ANOTHER 20 minutes. I got tired of waiting and went back. The advisor was still in his meeting, so the man who printed my receipt and swiped my card couldn't tell me anything about the problem they originally called me about. Not his fault, but was definitely was a huge bummer of an experience. If it weren't for previous good experiences this review would be a 1-star. Please remember to put the customer first. I think it would've been reasonable for the advisor to come out for a quick second to tell a customer what was up with their car, especially with a significant issue. Hopefully the next time around your service center is a bit more on top of their game with communication and preparedness like they have been in the past.

I brought my wife's car in for transmission issues and they diagnosed a solenoid on trans was possibly bad. While they had the vehicle it started leaking coolant from the water pump which was covered under warranty and the coolant had got into the timing belt so they replaced that as well at no charge. They really pay attention to the details and communicated with me on everything along the way . Great customer service!!

My chevy cruze suddenly started loosing power, especialkky when going uphill. I called as soon as I got home and Service said bring it right in and they could arrange a tow for me. I was surprised that they took the car as fast as they did. At other dealerships I've always had to make an appointment which would be several days up to two weeks away. They did a quick check over and told me they would need it overnight and up to 2 days. Without me saying anything they said they are arranging a rental car (free) for me. Immdiately he picked up th phone made arrangements and had someone drive me to the rental dealer. With no hassle, I got a temporary car. My car was fixed and it drove better than new and got better gas mileage too.

I went in for an inspection and to have code 52 reviewed (according to google this is an exhaust related issue). No one seemed to know what that code was but I later was told that it was there because I needed to change the timing belt. The quote I was given was $170 more than the mechanic I've used for years. Additionally, my mechanic noted a highlight out and advised me that my front brake pads should really be replaced as they are worn down. They seemed surprised that Shearer did not tell me this. I've really lost my faith in the service work I've gotten from Shearers. My last visit was just as disappointing as they cannot seem to find the origin of a strange squealing noise when I run the heat fan or the smell I get as well.

Honestly, I don't even know where to begin. Its been a series of bad visits and I feel that the service for vehicle after care is terrible! The sad part is I know Bill Shearer personally and I'm quite certain he has no idea how awful the service department conducts daily business which is a direct representation of all the many years of hard work Bill had to sacrifice to build a company that now is looked upon as the worst place to bring your vehicle for service!! Keep in mind, this was not just one bad visit, or two bad visits. Try more like 6 bad consecutive visits. Also, one of the service visits I was told my work van with only 20,000 miles on it needed over $600.00 worth of work to get inspected and the following day I brought it to another dealership in the area and they inspected the van no problem! Shame on you guys! Seriously?

worst dealer ship ever this is why i walk in and ask if the had any cars for around 100K some old dude maybe manager told me nothing we have nothing to sell you and turned around and continued talking to his associate ,i believe the judged me the way i was dressed i did walk in with me flip flops, so i left and never will visit the dealership, at the same time a mechanic walk out from the backroom and look at the seller manager why he acted like this i have no idea we just moved from cali to Vermont and own a 8.5million house so i left and purchased a Benz from Automaster , i like sport clothing or shorts and flip flops :)
