My experience with Taggart Motor Co. was very easy and enjoyable. The service was exellent and the people are very friendly. I have never financed a car before, so I didn't know what to expect. I was told my interest rate and payment, They even turned the screen around so I could see all the numbers. My first experience with Taggart was a great one. Unexpectedly finding ourselves in need of an enclosed trailer, we traveled to nearby Corpus Christi. We discovered internet searches produced inaccurate information as two lots we visited did NOT have any trailers in their inventory. Exasperated, I called Taggart's and inquired if the information on their website was correct and I was kindly assured it was. We left Corpus and headed into Portland, hoping we had not been led astray. Upon arrival we could see an array of trailers and quickly received help from a sales rep. After considering three different trailers we selected one and made our purchase. Our sales rep, Hunter, and the manager, Pat, both gave us calls when we were nearly 1000 miles into our first towing journey to see how the trailer was performing as well as to make sure we were happy with our purchase. The entire experience was low pressure and painless. The staff seems genuine in their desire to keep their customer happy even after the sale. I have no doubt their commitment to the customer does not begin and end with trailer sales but with all they do; as a result I would be comfortable recommending Taggart's for any service or product they provide.

Purchased a 2007 truck from there in June 2017. I've been to the service department 5 times in 16 months. Each time they "fix" something seems something else goes wrong. One time i got my truck back with a dead battery. Just spent $700 on repairs and now my engine is smoking one day later. Also, the bumper to bumper warranty i purchased and was told it will cover all repairs has cost me thousands of dollars because apparently that wasnt the truth. Worst service department I've ever witnessed in my life.

If your looking for a new car this is the place to look. My wife and I went to taggart to see if they could get us into a new car. Raul, Calin and Pat really came through and helped us in a big way. We even met the owner Mr taggart himself. We went to other dealerships but it wasn't like these guys at taggart. I will be going back on my next car and I'll recommend taggart motors over anyone.

Back in 2016, I was out of town for work reasons and had several issues with my truck. I called my service department back home and told them everything that was going on with my truck. They came back with a crazy quote for parts and labor. I called the Taggart service department and they quoted me a much lower price. I was skeptical but really had no choice. As you can see, I wanted to give it some time before commenting to see how my truck does. So here is my review, their service Department was friendly, honest and informative. I told them I was in town all week so no need to rush. (they had it ready in two days) And they saved me nearly 1000.00$. So to sum it up, Great people Great service and I would recommend them to anyone!

What I appreciated about my recent experience at Taggart is that as soon as I arrived I made it known that I was considering buying a trailer, and all fingers and nods pointed and suggested one man, Hunter. I didn’t feel like I was being fought over and also Hunter didn’t make me feel like he needed me to buy something for him to eat that night! No desperation, no verbally forced cheap sales expressions, no pressure. Hunter just answered my questions very clearly about the pricing of what was available and what was not available. He did give me quality advice based on his knowledge of what size of trailer my truck should handle safely. Anyways, no bad to report. I later went to look for a truck and they didn’t quite have what I needed, and there were no hard feelings about it from my salesman Hunter. We shook hands, with me knowing I’ll probably be back in Portland when I need another trailer!

4th woman on reviews that had a unpleasant experience @ Taggart. Pat Caldwell sales manager is far from honest and has no integrity towards female let alone daughter of military. He lied about them not being able to trade in toy hauler travel trailer for a cargo trailer. Then he quoted less than $13000 difference than base price of NADA. He also stepped on fellow co worker Bob Silverman toes by having his power trip as an egotistical manager acting like it was his business when he claimed they wouldn't trade w me. Bob had already got permission on previous visit to allow such transaction. Pat used Bob as middle pawn. He must of pressured him to lie by saying the phone number he had for me didn't work... I called Bob's cell after that email so that my number would register on his phone and also told him to call me w phone number via email. Pat called me very next day not Bob like I asked via email. Also buyers be where when there is storm, tornado,... that frontage road floods so they might be selling water damaged products. I witnessed they have a cargo trailer that has roof leak. They must rent cargo trailers. You might not be even getting a brand new cargo it might be previously rented since I seen tire marks, a roll of carpet in couple of the trailers. Also Pat Caldwell has a fear of Germans coming after him. I told him, "us Germans are not after him". He then proceeded to try to screw over a German by under quoting me by atleast $13000. Fyi Mr. Caldwell, women know business and are managers too. Infact we are the ones who paid your military pay for 21yrs and your VA benefits. Respect civilans, we the people, the daughters that prayed for safe return of our family members. Pat when you read this review learn this is truly reporting w honesty, integrity, while serving pleasantly the domestic homeland/civilian people.

The car I bought at Taggart was exactly as described. I filled out the finance form before I went, so the whole transaction took about an hour from test drive to driving off the lot with my new car. I cannot say enough about the great customer service by the entire staff, especially my salesman, Raul. They took the time to teach me all the features of my car, and even put my new plates on when they came in a week later. The staff, the price and the quality care makes Taggart the only place I will buy cars.

This is, Probably the best dealership ever! My husband and I dropped by today to pick up our vehicle. We purchased it a few days back, but wanted it to remain a surprise for our daughter. Not only was it detailed, but Mr Raul insisted on filling it up with gas, before our departure. From start to finish this was a no pressure, laid back experience. Also, a fun fact that sets this dealership apart from all the other ones: (Corpus, Kingsville, & Portland) ALL vehicles sold carry a three month, 3 thousand mile warranty. I have been a customer at Taggart Motors for almost 20 years and just purchased my 4th vehicle from them. As a “more than middle aged female”, I have 100% trust in these guys. Pat (Sales Manager) is honest, caring and has integrity. I know that he would not sell me a vehicle that was not dependable. I basically handled this purchase via telephone calls since I have moved to the Highland Lakes area and just stopping in, was not an option. I could have purchased a vehicle in Austin or San Antonio, but when you trust a small town dealership, you continue to buy from them. I arrived at the dealership and Raul (Salesman) walked up and said he would pull the vehicle around so I could test drive it. My Edge was even nicer than the photos. Test drive was great. I went back in and Cullen (finance) had my paperwork ready for signatures. If you are looking for a dependable used car, give Pat or Raul a call. These guys will go out of their way to take care of you.

My wife and I went truck shopping with the intent of going to multiple dealerships. Taggarts in Portland, TX was our first and only stop. Its not a skeevy used car lot. Their inventory is fantastic. Taggarts staff is super friendly and I never once felt pressured to buy the truck I was looking at. They are a local buisness who care a lot about their reputation and it shows! Erick, my salesman, was super nice and was a great help. I came back the next day to get a new set of keys made and he gave me 3 tamales while I was waiting. I got a super great deal on my truck which was already listed below NADA value and they came down on the price with little to no negotiation. I just asked and they obliged. I went in to test drive and had completed the sale in record time. They found me an interest rate well below what I came in with. I highly recommend you buy your used vehicle from Taggarts. They are fantastic!
