When I pick up my car wasn't told what was done staff at as if I was intruding on them. The service person that check me out stated that he thought I wasn't coming cause he usually don't check out anyone after 545. I had to inform him that I called before coming letting them know I was going to be there before 6. Just felt the transaction could of been better.

Dealer had to order part. They had it when they said they would and it was replaced when they said it would be and sense it was under warranty it was at no charge. Everyone was very nice and informative.

Prices are fair, I think. Oil change price is great! The repair to my car was fair, and some things are over priced, such as fuel induction service for $200 when at most places it would be $100, but I guess that’s what you get for going to a dealer. Side note, somehow in the few days my car was there the front windshield got a major crack in it. There is good and bad to this story, the good: service manager was super friendly and apologized immediately, and said we will get it fixed ASAP! At no charge to me no questions asked. The bad: this crack in my windshield happened most likely by a tool being dropped on it, or during their test drive of my car, it was there for 5 days so do not know when it happened. But when it happened, instead of whoever cracked it telling the manager, or for that matter me, I went to pick up my car and found the crack myself and had to point it out to them. Don’t believe they were trying to get away with it, but I do believe whoever cracked it, by accident I am sure, didn’t want to get in trouble so parked the car when it was complete and didn’t tell anyone. End of story, super friendly people and they did take care of me no questions asked. But makes me worry a little bit that my car was damaged while there and instead of fixing it or telling me, nobody knew. One other thing to point out is that I was told “the part will arrive Thursday and they should be able to finish by end of day Thursday.” I understand that things may not always go as planned, but when I called at end of day Thursday to see the status, as nobody had called me, I was told: “the technician assigned to your car doesn’t work on Thursdays, so we haven’t started on your car yet” ... umm, so why did you tell me it would be done most likely on Thursday if it was assigned to a technician who doesn’t work on Thursday's. All I could do was laugh. I think I will give this place another chance, but I must say not the best first impression.

This was my first visit to this dealership, I purchased my 2012 Hyundai Genesis, from Keffer Hyundai in Matthews, NC. But I will return to have my vechicle serviced at Peacock Hyundai, because of the service I received from Ms.Rachel Crawford. Overall service and honesty, GREAT

I have been taking my 2013 Hyundai Genesis to this dealership alongside my sons Dodge Ram pickup. In doing the $99 coupon inspection, of course my car needed new tires, front brakes, and a battery. I had purchased a battery 12/2016 that I was lead to believe for appr $230 carried a 3 year warranty. However, I learned from the new Hyundai Peacock service crewman, that the warranty was only 12 months. I don't think I would've paid $230 for a battery to only have warranty coverage for 1 year. Anyway, I was advised that Hyundai Peacock doesn't have to honor Jim Hudson Hyundai's mishaps and that they apologize that I had been misinformed. I knew my brakes were worn, so that wasn't an issue and I had just purchased tires last quarter of 2018 so I still have good tread on them. I think sometimes the computer spits out what should be required servicing for the car. The customer service crew were all knew and I was advised by the representative the Hyundai cleaned house of the former staff. I'm not sure what happened but they can take a few pages of customer service etiquette from the old crew! They were not as friendly nor inviting. I immediately called around and found a H8 battery with 900 cranking lamps for $100 cheaper! The best Hyundai was willing to offer me for the mishap and proration on a new battery was 27%! Anyway, I'm not sure about anyone else's experience with this new management, but I will not be buying my G90 nor continuing my automobile servicing with this particular dealership! I was glad I had a male friend to consult with because it saved me quite a bit of money! If they don't tighten up, they will loose alot of good customer's.

Service people are pretty nice, but my car has less than 11,000 miles and 3 tires have gone bad . The dealer would not stand behind them. (Because although it was a brand new car, the tires were not made by Hyundai). I won't be buying a Hyundai ever again

The employees were great but the service department was very backed up. It appears that there needs to be more employees to handle the work there. My car was ready for about 20 minutes before I got to pay and leave, and that was because I went and checked after seeing it sitting outside.

What a great group of people❣️ It was comforting to me when my service lead, Rachael, knew the process. She took my keys, took care of my Elantra (which I love), notified me of any other service my vehicle might need in the near future, and also notified me of some recalls my vehicle had. They fully detailed my vehicle when it was finished for free! The other staff were knowledgeable and professional. The service took a little bit longer than I expected but the service I received more than made up for the extra time it took. Thank you Peacock Hyundai service department. Louie Roth was a super nice salesman. He is semi-new to car sales. He is studious in trying to obtain vital make/model information. If he doesn't know something he will tell you he'll get back with you and DOES. You can tell Louie wants to put you in the vehicle YOU WANT. Craig, a finance manager, is nice and funny (at times). However, you can tell he is a bit seasoned. In my case, we played that little game where they let you think you are winning so you'll be open to their other suggestions. I prefer a straight forward approach. Just give me a decent price and an honest and fair value on my trade-in. Again, I'm sure their approach works all day everyday just not my style. We did not purchase from Peacock but, it was a VERY close decision. Go check out the Hyundais and speak Louie. I'm sure he'll do everything he can to meet your needs.

If I could give zero stars I would. I have never had an issue with the service department until now. I had a part of my seat pop and they fixed it before so I called them to see if they would be able to fix it again. I called and spoke to the Service Manager Mr. Sheppard who advised that even though my car was no longer under warranty, they would be happy to fix the part for me (which I greatly appreciated). I called and scheduled an appointment and was told that the part would be there when I arrived on Friday for the repair. I even called Tuesday to make sure that the part was there because I no longer live in Columbia and would be taking time off from work and traveling there to get it fixed. My appointment was at 12 and I got there at 11 just to make sure that they had enough time to fix it. I received a call at 1:45 from Ted in the Service Department stating that Mr. Sheppard ordered the wrong part and that the correct part wouldn’t be here until the following Tuesday. I was upset but I know that mistakes happen and I’m typically understanding but I would’ve appreciated Mr. Sheppard providing me with that information since he was the one who ordered the wrong part. Ted apologized and said that because of the error, they would reimburse me for gas when I came to get my car. I came back to get my car and Ted said that they will give me gas the next time I come up which made me upset because he blatantly lied to me over the phone when he spoke to me 20 minutes prior. Today is Wednesday and I have been calling Mr. Sheppard since I left Peacock Columbia last Friday and still have not heard anything back from him. There is a Hyundai closer to my home and I wanted to know if they could just ship the part to them and cover the labor due to the error and me not wanting to waste another day by driving to Columbia because not only do I work, but I’m in school also so my time is very limited. He has yet to call me or acknowledge my question, and I have never received such HORRIBLE treatment with Peacock Hyundai!!! I’m very disappointed and again, if I could give zero stars instead of one, I would!

I want to start by saying that I've had some horrible car buying experiences and this is not one of them. We showed up on a Sunday and they helped us before their doors were even open. I was in and out in less than two hours. They we're friendly and very easy to work with. If you want a good experience go to Peacock and aak for Raleigh.

Bought 2 cars here within 2 years and I couldn’t get a 250$ refund for a coolant leak on my car that I had chosen to get repaired elsewhere not even 3 days after I bought my car despite the fact I’ve bought 2 cars I had decided to speak Steven Krit the used car manager he lied about a check being cut to me despite the fact he knew my situation and that I was moving spent 39 grand here on 2 cars and couldn’t get a 250$ refund 39 freaking grand and can’t give me 250$ is that how you treat you customers?! Anyways although I would advise buying a new car here I would stay away from the used cars or else you might find yourself in the same situation as I did

They call them stealerships for a reason...PAY ATTENTION because these people will recommend you “just drive it until the part completely fails so we can replace it under warranty”. How about Hyundai stops manufacturing/selecting the most trash engineered parts available. I guess it’s part of their business model. I mean really it’s an evil genius’s idea...sell terribly made cars then charge ridiculous prices to fix/service them. They’ll openly tell you about the trash parts.

Received notice of safety recall. Called and make appointment. Arrived for appointment at prescribed time but was told that the parts required for my service appointment were not available, they had run out of the parts over the week end. Didn't reschedule for a specific time but was told I would receive a tele call to verify that the parts were available for the following day. Didn't hear anything the rest of that day so I called the following day, mid morning, and was told parts were available and I didn't need an appointment just come in within the hour and I would be worked in. I was also told that a message had been left on my answering machine. After my call I checked for messages and found the service reps number on the caller ID about the same time I was on the phone with my inquiry. I got a ride back home with the shuttle service, which was good. The service went well and I got a call that my car was ready. I understood that the car would be washed and vacuumed but didn't see evidence that that had been done. I would have appreciated a call on the day of my scheduled service to let me know parts were not available; it would have saved me a round trip on my car and my wife's car.

PLEASE BE AWARE!!!!beyond shady. they seemed amazing in the beginning showing me paperwork showing 5% apr......but a monthly payment of 576....I knew something was wrong untill I got home and realized it was 22%......5 and 22 are night and day... in addition I asked if there were other cars available and they ignored my request do to me exposing the truth to them. check your loan paperwork. I wish i could give a half a star for the waste of time

Mike Wise @ Peacock Hyundai, great salesman I told him what I wanted, told him where the car was, he was able to get it in 3 days of me telling him about the car I wanted and at a really great price, even better then Fort Mill Hyundai which was going to be more then what I actually paid the car for. Saved me a trip having to go to NC for my car and I have a place to take it to to get serviced without having to go to NC. Very knowledgeable about car and does great follow up. I had a 2:30 appointment. It took 30 minutes to get checked in. After waiting more than 2 hours, I went to the service rep and he said he would check on my car. No work had been done on it in the time I had waited. I sat in the waiting room and watched many customers who came in after me leave with their cars! The waiting room was very full when I arrived but I was the last to leave at 6:05. Customers shouldn’t be given appointment times if it doesn’t have any bearing on your car’s place in line. Very frustrating experience !

The lady at the desk was very nice however the rest of the experience was terrible. The service department did not do some of the things I was charged for (for example it clearly states all fluids were topped off and they were not) and they said I needed work done that I did not. It is very obvious they just want your money and will tell you things to try and freak you out. I happened to go up there for a recall on my car and left my husband at home but he is a mechanic. They saw a single female with a small child and decided to try and scare me with "problems" with my car. Will not be going back.

I took my vehicle in for warranted repair work almost 2 months ago. Parts needed to be ordered, understandable. No big rush as some surgery was going to be done the next day and my immediate availability would not be for a short time. Forward to 6 weeks later and the expected call to let me know the parts were in had not come. I called and was told the parts had come in but they didn't think I was going to come back in and had possibly disposed of the work request. When the order was finally found, I arranged to bring the vehicle in again. An appointment was made for the following week on a Tuesday. The gentleman with whom the arrangements had been made assured me that the car would be ready that day. I called 3 times that day and no returned call. Finally told they had the wrong part. Was able to get the vehicle back on Thursday evening. All in all an extremely dismal experience!

After working with someone online, I was told they had multiple vehicles in the make, model, and color I was interested in. When I arrived they had none. The lied just to get me in the door! After test driving a vehicle, they took forever to communicate with me. They kept my car keys after appraising my vehicle so I could not leave. After demanding my keys back and asking them to email me numbers on the vehicle I never received any information from them. I also gave them a coupon for a $50 gift card for test driving a vehicle, and they never honored that either.

It would have seemed reasonable to think that when either the service tech or the service manager, while driving my car, would have noticed the light and investigated. Otherwise service was fine.

Absolutely terrible service. I bring my car in on time for a recall. It takes 2 hours. I can live with that but when I get in my car to leave, the interior lights won’t turn off. I notify the dealership that afternoon and schedule an appointment to have it fixed. I had NEVER had this issue until after the service at the dealership. I return to have it repaired. Wait 2.5 hours only to be told it will cost me $250. It’s hard for me to believe anyone can offer service this poor. I would NEVER recommend this dealership. One bright spot was the employee who helped me. She was an absolute professional.

I just leased another Hyundai Tucson from Peacock. If you want to be treated like someone really cares about your being satisfied not only with your vehicle, but also with your buying/leasing experience I have a great piece of advice for you. MAKE SURE YOU ASK FOR JERRELL GIBSON!! He made my car buying experience go smoothly and effortlessly. He is friendly, professional, and took his time to show me the basics of the equipment and "bells and whistles" before I drove off the lot. He worked with the sales manager to get my payments affordable for me so I have to thank him also. Everyone there was great.

It took four visits to get two tires and a rim changed. At one point, they made me wait two hours to tell me that the rim had not come in. I am not satisfied with the work. The steering still pulls from side; driving is always two-handed at speeds over 45. Sometimes the front end shimmies. I had asked for the wheels to be balanced, but I don’t know if they were. Can’t believe that Hyundai thinks that this is comfortable driving. I am always conscious of the steering and how it tugs this way and that, especially on straight, smooth roads. Takes curves well, has pep, and is otherwise a smooth ride. Too bad the steering sucks and after almost $825 in total repairs you still can’t make it steer the car smoothly and straight. Also unhappy with customer service. No return calls. Always have to dial and redial. Was not informed when the rim came in; I had to call. Also, the incredibly long waits! Just for wheels! Why over two hours for each of four visits? I feel like I live there! Peacock: you’re no Jim Hudson!

The sales associate was great. Explained everything thoroughly. My disappointment was that my first stop once I got in the vehicle was the gas station around the corner (less than a mile away). Don't think someone have to put gas in a vehicle that he/she just purchased. This is the first.

***my experience is with the service center*** My car had an issue that was very uncommon. I was able to call in and schedule an appointment with ease. The repairs come out to be very expensive, luckily the warranty covered all of it. The staff was very friendly, very professional, and efficient! Ted was amazing to work with and he hilarious! Only complaint (which isn’t any fault of the employees) was that whenever you call and try to get a hold of the service department either you’d get rerouted to someone’s voicemail or no one answers at all.

I went in for my first oil change on a Wednesday afternoon in June of 2019. When I pulled up to the service department the glass door was door but a service rep was behind the desk. He took about 2 minutes to open the lift door. The oil change took 1 hour and 50 mins. I don’t want to be accused of exaggerating so I’m tried to be as exact as possible. They found that my car had 2 recalls which was scheduled for repair when the part comes in the following Saturday. I did not know my car had recalls. That was the slowest oil change ever. There were at least 5 other customers who arrived just before m me or shortly after and they all received the same slow service. I appreciate the car wash inside and out. I appreciate the free oil change but I am highly discouraged from returning for another free ($30 at Speedy Lube) two hour oil change.

3 STRIKES AND YOUR OUT... doesn’t just apply to baseball. Ever since Jim Hudson Hyundai was sold over to Peacock of Columbia I have gotten horrific service. The service department NEVER answers their calls. You have to call sales for an answer then they shame you for calling sales, not service... they say they will try to reach service. If you’re lucky, you will get a call back, but don’t hold your breathe. First oil change since becoming Peacock of Columbia, they stripped my oil plug. They tried to blame it on me and then the age of the plug. Upon research and talking to other mechanics, I had enough facts to continue to argue this was on them not me. Finally after multiple attempts of playing nice and then having to get ugly with them and getting a male on the line, they admitted it was their fault and fixed it. Second time, I got my oil changed and waited. During my wait a sales member decided to walk around the room and pass out business cards. It just absolutely rubbed me wrong. Here I am giving your company business, but it isn’t good enough so he felt the need to come and ask people to buy a new car from him. Once paying, I received a laundry list of things that was wrong with my visit. Third time, (after doing no work to my vehicle in between), my car was awesome, nothing wrong with it. Just some maintenance things since it was nearing 100,000 miles. So they couldn’t even keep their lies straight. However, less than 130 miles and one week later, my check engine light cuts on and my car immediately stops driving. Back to my they never answer the phone rant. I called so many times just for some line of communication. But no answer. Again called sales and they attempted to get me to service. I get it my car won’t be fixed in a day and that’s fine, but I just wanted some line of communication since this is my only form of transportation. Just a “hey we are working on it” or “hey we know it is the end of the day we are still looking into it and will resume first-thing in the morning.” I cannot even get them to tell me anything. I finally went up there with a male mechanic friend since no one could give me the respect to call me back. They were not even looking at my vehicle. They said nothing was wrong with it and it was driving fine now. After no answers, and multiple excuses later, they finally said ma’am do you want to leave it here for us to look further into it (which they weren’t even looking at it in the first place) or drive it home. I said I’m stuck in a rock in a hard place here. Risk driving and getting stuck on the side of the road or leave it here where someone won’t look at it or even answer my calls. I decided to drive it home and I will NEVER EVER be going back there again. I am beyond frustrated. I feel so taken advantage of. I would NEVER recommend this place to anyone, especially a female because in your eyes the service department thinks you are an idiot. If you want good customer service, and communication, better find you another service department. I really hate to post this, but I do not want anyone to feel the way I am feeling right now.

Overall, I like my new 2019 Hyundai Accent and I am happy with my choice to buy a new car. I had done some research prior to arriving at Peacock and found a car with a good price that I really liked so I arranged to come into the store. The car I wanted was actually at another Peacock Hyundai location near Hilton Head but I was adamant about having that car and they made it happen for me. My sales agent was Louie Roth and he was fantastic. He explained all the safety features of the car, which I appreciated. I also got more value for my trade than I expected. They put me temporarily in the car I test drove and arranged to have my new Accent driven up to Columbia from Hilton Head the next business day. Once my car made it to Columbia, it was detailed and I was notified it was at the dealership. I arranged to come later in the evening to switch into my new car. This was a smooth process and I have no complaints other than the fact that I was left with 1/4 tank of gas. Most dealerships sell cars with a full tank of gas. For me, if I had the choice, I’d rather have the gas than a detailed car. Maybe this was oversight on their part but it’s worth mentioning. If I had to do it over again, I would!!

Took the car in for routine maintenance and to have what I thought was a simple repair. Was told the repair was far more complicated and would require ordering a part. Part ordered on Tuesday and I was notified Friday mid day that it had arrived. Returned to dealership for installation. When completed I was told that there was nothing seriously wrong and only the repair I believed was needed to begin with was required. I wasted a day because or a sloppy diagnosis and had to curtail weekend travel plans.

If I could give them zero stars I would. All I needed was a routine oil change. I thought everything was fine. A week later my engine, and oil light came on, and I saw that oil was leaking everywhere. The car had to be towed to another Hyundai dealership because I moved. The mechanic said that the drain plug was missing, and that my car basically had no more oil. If I would’ve have continued to drive the car the engine would’ve have locked up on me. The dealership sells good cars, but I will not go back for any maintenance that needs to be done.

The General Manager, Paul Cobb, is a liar. He looked me in the face and said that the extra keys to my car were lost and that he could not give it to me later. He said that a bag of keys were lost to 100s of cars on the lot. What a sorry excuse for a lie. I have bought numerous new cars and NEVER have I left with 1 key. What dealership loses all the keys to the inventory of cars? Also, I asked about a complimentary oil change. That was considered during the purchase and the end, that was recanted. IF you choose to buy a car there, please get EVERYTHING in writing because you will be left with many empty promises. I hope the Hyundai holds up.

This dealerships communication was awful and we wasted a lot of time and gas. First the salesman that we were working with either quit or was let go and no one reached out to his customers, then there was an appointment set with a manager who was apparently off for the day and the information requested from the dealership was not what was needed. Something we didn’t find out until driving back to that side of town. I used this dealership because my sister had a good experience. However, I’d recommend Galeana 2 doors down! They were up front, professional and able to help me without wasting time! Everything was upfront just as requested!

In regards to Edward who assisted me with my car today and yesterday he was extremely helpful, and super nice. I am giving a 5 star for Edward’s service, and complete follow through with all my concerns from beginning to end. I would like to address a separate issue and if needed give a separate review on Hyundai/Peacock as a whole if they can’t fix my paint on my car fairly. Edward did advise that they were sending a claim to Hyundai, the manufacturer, to see if they would agree to pay for the chipping paint. I however have not been assured or guaranteed they will. As I am sure you can imagine, My concern is this... if the seatbelts are faulty, steering, and ANY item in/on-the car is faulty the item is recalled. I assume because this is not deadly or can’t kill someone there is no real concern for the consumer so why would anyone eat this cost right?? No matter what, the paint on these cars are faulty and they chip!!!!!! When I bought this car my paint was fine. I didn’t have an accident or hit something, nothing landed on my car, I haven’t used products either to cause any of the sorts. Instead, Hyundai chose to go with a sealant paint (which is not normally used) I am sure to save money, which is pure junk!!! Tons and tons and tons of other people have also experienced this same issue but who cares right??? It’s just our vehicle that we pay HUNDREDS of dollars for a MONTH and a CONTRACT we signed with a company that the car we are purchasing is exactly as it is, and everything in it is quality products and is not then it should be recalled like everything else. I’m sorry but some cars that are 12 years old still have never had the paint chip or rust, but a 4 year old car does? A car that has 37 thousand miles is peeling and the paint is coming off??? This is not acceptable and Peacock needs to pay for it!!! I will not pay to have the paint on my car fixed in anyway shape or form when it is still literally like new. I have the the care package so my car has always come to the dealership for all work ever done on the car. I have had a total of three cars with Hyundai, and referred most people who see my car to the dealership to also get one. My preference has always been the Sonata, and I have always had one. My first was the 2012, then 2014, now a 2015. I have stayed with the 2015 without making adjustments or getting a newer model because I really do love this one a lot more then any of the other ones I have had prior until now. Now I hate driving it and paying that monthly bill for a car that clearly has faulty paint on it. Most people would have 40-50 thousand miles on their car by now.. but I don’t.: I do however have chipping paint so I guess regardless how good I take care of it by the time it’s paid off all my paint will be removed.
