Worst experience ever. I had my car for only a month and a lot of problems started. Found out they had me driving an unsafe car and was without a car for weeks while it was in the shop because they wouldn't trade me for another one. I almost lost my job because I had no way to work. So after I get it back they promised everything was fixed. Drove it for a couple weeks and the same exact problem happened. I almost died this time though. And they still refused to trade cars so I gave it back to them and they kept taking money off my card. Soooooo DON'T BUY ANYTHING FROM THEM. All they care about is money. They'll make everything sound good until you sign the contract. Then you're screwed.

Such an amazing experience buying a car from Mrs. Cathie! She always so patient with me and understood my wants and needs! I had my pick of the lot, and decided on my sporty Civic Coupe! Very pleased with the 2 yr warranty as well. My A/C went out about 20 mins after I left. I returned and was helped immediately. While it wasn’t able to be fixed right then and there, due to a part being out of stock, I have an appointment set up for Monday! If you call the office they never call back. They lie about everything. I bought a car from there and the motor was no good. They gave me the run around and on top of that they was going to put that same car back on the lot without fixing it. Smh

It started off great..Loved working with loo-loo! Almost everyone was so friendly!!! They even took the time and helped me find an affordable insurance company, even tho it ment they had to stay past closing! But it's been problems with my payments ever since then. Not taking it out of my bank account and calling me to tell me it was late every payment. They finally fixed it for a couple months and everything was okay until again I am contacted because they didn't take the money out. So I went back AGAIN to correct the situation. And now they have almost doubled my car payment. For no reason. Seriously if you get a car here be prepared for non stop issues.

My sister purchased a vehicle from Family Auto as well. I received my $100 dollars and my sister is happy with her deal! Changed review. After months of attempting to give back vehicle and being told "no do not worry about it" my vehicle that was almost paid for was repossessed from my job after I started. My possessions(my purse included) were held for 1 week until I got the police involved. Then afterward the manager attempted to sweet talk me into signing a new contract (they took my previous contract out of glovebox and did not return it to me) I said no.

I bought my car through them 2 months ago and purchased my Insurance through them. I hit a deer within two weeks of owning the car, and it did some damage to driver side and windshield. Mind you, supposedly I was paying for full coverage through them. The insurance agent assesed the damage at $1,900 they said they would only pay $600 of it not to mention I have a $500 deductible which left me with $100 to fix my repairs now I'm screwed and driving around in an unsafe vehicle, with two very distinct cracks all the way across my windshield and missing my driver side mirror. I will never recommend anyone buy a car from these people as they will rip you off. I don't even get to touch that $100 they're just going to put it on what I "owe" them on this car now not even try to fix anything on my car.

Ive never met a more unprofessional staff than the people that work for this company, that’s the biggest downfall of this company is that they lack professionalism. Not only that but they also sold me a car which the engine blew out not even having the car for more than 90 days, and it also took them forever to replace my battery that they knew from the day i bought the car wasn’t working properly. I literally had to chase them down and take time off work just to get them to do what they needed to do. I’ve prided myself on making my payments on time during this time period. I will admit i may have been late nor more than three four at the max times. But I’ve never been 30 days late with my payments. I wouldn’t suggest to anyone to shop for cars here and if you do please do with caution.

I purchased an SUV from Family Auto in February, 2016. It was a little pricey, but that was my choice.. I've had no problems at all with the very friendly staff also, and have always made my payments on time.. Very recently the vehicle broke down, which is not uncommon due to the mileage it had. I have special physical needs, and when I called, they had my vehicle towed, and I was on my way home and out of this heat very quickly.. Hanna has contacted me advising the vehicle needs to be replaced. After speaking with her, I know I'll be in a new vehicle of my choice, at the best deal possible for me as soon as I can get there. They've made what is normally a bad experience much, much easier at this point...

My friend bought a car from here and paid like 12 grand. He hasn’t even had it a year and they already had to rebuild the transmission and the motor plus multiple other problems. My friend just called to see if once again they can barrow my car because the transmission is slipping again. Don’t buy from here. They get their cars from auto auction and pray on the people with bad credit. They pay 400 a month which is more then I pay for a brand new Kia Optima that has leather seats and had 0 miles when I got it. They don’t stand behind their cars like they tell you when you buy from them

I have never seen a car company that mistreated their customer like this place has done me for the past month. Nothing about this place is worth going to to buy a car from. They only want your money and after they get it, you might as well just hang it up if you expect to get any help or anything. I DO NOT recommend this place to buy a car. First thing first, they are WAY over priced and their $7995 cars are trash and or have high mileage that's not worth 8k anyway shape or form. STAY AWAY!!

First I have to say that my review does not reflect on the staff. My experience with staff has been great and after a year I’ve had zero problems out of my vehicle. My problems is with this business taking advantage of people by severely over pricing the vehicles. I have to admit that I was in a rush to get a vehicle when I went here and they did get me riding pretty quick but didn’t do my homework. I recently went in to make a payment, which I normally do over the phone, and when I received my receipt I noticed the total balance. I was completely shocked! I’ve been paying over 400 a month for a year and still owe over 13,000 on a 05 that’s high end book value is just over 5000! This is absolutely ridiculous and shouldn’t be allowed by law! That’s flat out price gouging and clearly taking advantage of people! Do your homework before buying from here, it will serve you well in the end!

Please if you're reading this and are thinking about buying a car DO NOT I repeat DO NOT GET ONE FROM HERE! Have had my car for a little less than 3 months and this is the 2nd time its been in the shop. Oil leaks (still cant figure out where), cracked radiator, dead alternator, leaking water pump its part of the long list of issues. All of this for them to tell me "well the car was perfectly fine when we sold it to you." In no way shape or form should you treat your customers in this way. Matter of fact while im sitting here typing this Alex just called me and let know that i should appreciate the fact that they paid for gasketts the first time it was in the shop. The same time when my father-in-law was on life support (which they knew) and my kids missed the last moments with him, heck almost missed his funeral and i missed my uncle's funeral.Mind you this is my 2nd time getting a car from them the first one lasted 4 days before BLOWING UP on me 430 in the morning on 85 20 mins away from my home. Againt my better judgement i went back but NEVER AGAIN. Just saying save yourself the headache go somewhere else and don't be dumb and naive like me. FAMILY auto, yeah right more push you in a red ant hill auto.

The service while getting the car was great but we have had many problems since getting our 2005 Scion and are still under warranty I keep up very good matince with all my cars but when the problems started accruing we tried to get them to fix the problem twice and they told us nothing was wrong finally it broke down and they fixed it one day before leaving for the beach told us it would be fine we are currently stuck right where hurricane Florence will hit and they have no care at all I’m having to pay $578 just to get home and they do not care one bit so don’t buy from them unless you want to deal with this they do not care about their customers like they portray I will never buy or tell anyone to buy from there 0 stars if I could for putting my family in danger

Worse car buying experience ever! If you want a lemon this is the place to come. Bought a car in March and the dealership has had more than I have trying to fix the same thing over and over again. Was told if they couldn’t fix it they would replace it or give me my money. Well guess what here it is June 19th and I still don’t have reliable transportation for me and my family. I had my car for less than a month and my window regulator went out. So I took it to there maintence place they told me to take it. And the Adam man said he'd take care of the bill. And little did I know 7 months later they put the bill for the regulator on my account. And I purchased the insurance plan thru them so if anything it should only be $100 on my account not $450. They hassle you even before your car payment is even due. I got a letter in the mail 4 days before my bill was due saying it's due. And say you didn't make a payment when you clearly did, /'d saying you had a late charge and just previously when paid bill was not told I had one. I'll never buy another car from them. Nor will I send anyone there!!

I had written a review previously but it seems to habe been deleted. So here it is again. DO NOT buy from family auto. They are horrible and habe crappy cars. I have had issue after issue after issue here and with my 05 jeep. It's had oil leeks window problems. The key don't fit the door and the key fob buttons won't unlock the door even after a battery change and new keyless entry put on. So I can't lock my car because if I do I can't get it to unlock. I have had to call pop a lock several times at my own expense. And so many other things have went wrong!!!

My husband and I over the years have purchased 4 cars from them and were there looking yesterday considering our 5th. The ownership is different from that of previous years. They have a small selection and do give you a 36,000 mile warranty on their used vehicles. However, the prices can be quite overpriced when comparing to Kelley Blue book and the typical average market price. But it is a buy here/pay here. The down payment has always been fairly reasonable. And they do report to the credit bureaus so it can help build your credit as well. The monthly payments are typically high if you choose to pay the minimum down payment. We always paid by the week. Our lowest vehicle payment was $88.00 a week and another one was $150.00 per week (ouch)! We went back to look just out of familiarity, however our credit is good enough now to go to any dealership we'd like. We did choose to pass this time when a 2007 vehicle after down payment would be $500/mo and the total cost was over $12,000.00!! For a 12 year old vehicle. Kelley blue book is right at $6,000 and you can buy it outright on market for around $3,800. I'm willing to bend a little because of buy here/pay here but that is wayyy too high. But if you are in a pinch, have employment and iffy credit, they will work with you. **Tip from experience** Before you buy from ANY used car lot, you should always check the vin# to see if that vehicle has been previously wrecked or in an accident and also if that particular year/make/model has had any recalls on it. And if so, were those recall issues taken care of prior to making your purchase. So my 3 star rating is more a 2 1/2 because it's right in the middle. They are good for needing a car for less than perfect credit, but bad in that most of their vehicles are extremely overpriced- even for buy here/pay here. They could have gotten our business for 5th car from them....but not this time until they price adjust quite a bit. Also like to add that the staff has always been very friendly throughout the years.
