The service at Carolina Volvo is unparalleled. My husband and I drove from north of Raleigh to purchase my first Volvo. The windshield had a crack in it so Carolina Volvo fixed it and gave us a loaner vehicle to take around town. They pulled all the strings to get the parts and service there on time. I left my purse in the loaner car
I've known the owners of Carolina Volvo for many years and they are the exact opposite of the typical car dealers. They take great care of their employees, their customers, and the Hilton Head community. When you buy or service your car at Carolina Volvo, you're spending your money with the good guys.
Carolina Volvo was able to successfully remedy a factory defect in my XC90 under warranty, a braided ground strap in the engine compartment that was attached at the chassis but had never been attached at the engine mount. They satisfactorily performed a brake fluid flush that I hired them to perform and they additionally provided a complimentary car wash, which was very nice of them. Unfortunately, on February 18, 2019, they were unable to provide a loaner vehicle due to a policy that prevented their loaner vehicles from being driven outside of the state of SC. Be sure to verify their current policies with them if you work or live just across the border in Georgia before bringing your vehicle in for service. Additionally, I requested the system software be updated in addition to the built-in NAV maps as most of them still required update to the latest version. Enroute home, I discovered none of the maps had been updated to the latest [1250] version and some had been downgraded from 1250 to 1240. Do not hesitate to take your service and warranty business to Carolina Volvo, but make sure you ask the right questions when making your appointment and check the vehicle thoroughly to ensure the work listed as performed on the invoice was truly performed.

I was in Hilton Head for vacation and unfortunately got a flat tire. Carolina Volvo was so helpful. They fit me in quickly and had me back in my car and headed to the beach in no time!
Very disappointed in the way our situation was handled. Found a suitable vehicle on-line and spent a week asking questions and working with the salesman. Worked on financing and drove 8 hours to see the vehicle with a check in hand. On arrival and inspection, there was approx. $1,800- $2000. worth of bodywork that needed to be done to make their "showroom/excellent condition car" whole. I know this because I grew up in a auto-body repair family and had just had repair work done to my current BMW. As this car was a Mercedes-Benz I knew my having the work done was way more costly than their cost to have it done but they choose not to disclose all the body work or have it done at their cost. Their showroom MB also only had one keyfob and those are quite expensive. I was very disappointed that a person I had spent a week discussing the transaction with did not provide me with the photos or even a clue about the less than" showroom" condition of the vehicle. There was no effort on the dealerships part to negotiate and they knew we were driving 8+hrs round trip to see this vehicle. They do NOT advertise fairly and and their salesman do not work in a forthright manner with their clients. *BUYER BEWARE!*
Have to rate the experience of owning a 2014 XC60 and dealing with Carolina Volvo 0 stars (Icouldn't post without giving it one star). Persistent problems with this car and Carolina Volvo Service can't seem to get it right. Just truly miserable experience.
We were in Hilton Head on vacation when one of Volvo's came due for routine maintenance. When we called to make an appointment not only did they squeeze us in rapidly, they completely explained what would be done. When we arrived they were extremely courteous and when done they even washed the car! What a pleasant experience overall.

Found the perfect car but because the sales person fell down on the job a car I have been searching for was sold out from under me. Do not expect timely correspondence. I was very happy with the deal I arranged but a deal with out a car is useless. Very disappointed.
We purchased our XC 90 through Volvo Military Sales in Okinawa Japan. We selected Carolina Volvo as the delivery dealer based solely on location while we were overseas. Upon arrival in Bluffton, I could not be more pleased by our choice. Danny V. was there to support from the first email I sent while still in Japan. His knowledge and insight made the delivery process a breeze. The car obviously sells itself but have a true professional there to guide you through the delivery process made it an experience I will not soon forget. The service manager Josh is a former Marine so you know you will be treated right if you need to bring your vehicle in for repairs. If you have a choice chose Carolina Volvo and you will not be disappointed, I certainly have not been.
The finance manager could care less about selling a car. I went in to inquire about an SUV and he reluctantly led me into his office for pricing. He verbally gave me some figures and ended the encounter without writing down the figures, not offering a business card, and not even asking for my name or number. I feel sorry for this owner. He is losing a lot of business. I gave one star because I like volvos.
Visited for an oil change while on vacation. These folks were wonderful and even washed our car before handing it back!. Affordable and professional. Great experience.
What a wonderful experience. I am from NH and called in because they had the RED XC90 R design I wanted. My dream car. Wayne the salesman told me... let's make it happen... those words got me... from that moment on Wayne worked for me and we made the deal! ''Tos the general manager was also great to work with... we joked when I was giving him a hard time :) we were able to ship the XC90 from South Carolina to NH all in safe keeping and the transport company took mine back in for trade. It's as promised and so gorgeous! We made the deal happen and the car to my home in 6 days! I'm impressed and both Wayne and Tos exceeded my expectations. Thank you both for helping me get my dream vehicle . I love it!!!
Purchasing my fifth Volvo from Carolina Volvo was, once again, a very smooth process. We bought a brand new car from them and traded in our old car. The dealer told my wife they would transfer the tags. They didn’t pay the taxes (which was really cheap) and the next thing I know we didn’t have the new sticker for our car and now we have to pay new car taxes. The dealer told me when I called him that they don’t transfer tags like that and that it’s on us. Volvo of Hilton Head. You got us. We bought your car but should of read the small print. You won’t see this customer again or anyone else that asked us about your delearship. Lesson learned ( you can’t trust car salesmen)

I went out to this dealership this past Saturday to look at a car i saw online. When i got there Beth in sales gave me a warm professional greeting. She was not aggressive, just kind and knowledgeable. I then emailed her to make an offer, we came to an advantageous agreement in no time. They even structured some great financing for me within 30 minutes. When i went out to pick up my car today the F&I person had everything prepared so i wouldn't have to want, he also was extremely nice and professional. I want to thank you both for making this such a great experience!
During a trip from NH to Florida our 2011 XC70 developed a troubling and annoying high pitched squeak that seemed to come from the lower right rear of the car. We stopped at two dealerships , one in Virginia and one in North Carolina, but neither was able to identify the source and sent us on our way with the assurance that there was no safety issue. Unfortunately, the noise was so irritating that we actually were contemplating purchasing a replacement. When we brought it to Carolina Volvo, Carlos Godoy immediately identified the problem as a worn bushing on the right rear trailing arm. He ordered the part and the next day (his day off!) saw to the installation. We drove out with a quiet vehicle that we expect to drive for several more years. Thank you Carlos!

Our first experience using the Internet to purchase a car. Carolina Volvo believes in that old adage: "Proper preparation prevents poor performance". From our first contact with Danny Vinciguerra, we received quick, knowledgeable responses to our questions and concerns. Once we arrived, we immediately saw that the prospective XC90 was ready for our inspection. Danny put us at ease with his genuine concern for our satisfaction on not only the car but also the processes in place to make for an open and direct transaction. In addition we quickly discovered that Danny is extremely knowledgeable about the products as well as keen on understanding what we value in an automobile. Along with no sales pressure, we were thus able to make our decision with confidence and complete the purchase quickly and efficiently.
The staff was courteous and handled getting warranty information verified and work completed in less time that I had anticipated.

I want to comment on the great experience I had with the folks at Carolina Volvo, in particular, Pete Capehart and General Manager Tos Chesson. Pete and Tos are great to work with. They have thorough product knowledge and made an extra effort to assist with my purchase, based on my personal circumstances. Although Carolina Volvo does not really promote this, I learned that their inspection and service of used vehicles prior to sale is quite comprehensive, ensuring customers of the best value with their purchase. Also notable are the extra courtesies, such as the full tank of gas to start customers out in their new vehicles. Whether seeking a new Volvo or quality used car, I recommend visiting Pete and Tos at Carolina Volvo. They are pros at what they do and you will be glad you did.

This may take a bit but if you are considering purchasing a Volvo or doing business with Carolina Volvo in Bluffton SC, you should do so with no worries, and you should read this review. My wife and I were driving to Hilton Head from Virgina for what we hoped would be a very relaxing week, 1 mile before the exit on Rt 95 we hit a large piece of metal that was bouncing down 95 we had no way to avoid it. The tire and rim were destroyed on a new 2015 XC60. After putting the spare on, we started to search for either a tire repair place or a Volvo dealership and found Carolina Volvo which just happened to be on the way to Hilton Head. Upon pulling in the Service Manager Chris came right over and asked if we needed help, I explained what had happened and he assured me not to worry they would take care of it. In less then an hour he had the parts ordered had all of our luggage transferred to another vehicle and had us driven to the resort. The car was done the very next day. Again he sent a vehicle to pick us up to get our vehicle back. When I arrived not only were all of the repairs made but any service that was due was completed and the car had been cleaned and was immaculate. When you buy from a dealer you can only hope that when you need the dealer the most in an emergency, they will provide the service you are always promised when you purchase. At Carolina Volvo in Bluffton you can be very confident you will get outstanding service when you need it the most. My wife an I are very grateful for the outstanding service provided by the team at Carolina Volvo. Jeff
