I have found decisions in purchasing a car to always be my Achilles heel. I knew that what I wanted to achieve financially was going to be tough. I was going to get another accord and I wanted try something new. I’ll try a Toyota Avalon. Constantly anxious about this purchase I reluctantly strolled into Toyota to meet Anthony. He’s new but overly assured me I was in good hands. Within minutes I could tell he had some sort of restaurant background. He was so full of care and too much of a straight shot. He won me over. If we could give less than 1 star we absolutely would. They tell you they have the car fax and they don’t they lie and talk non stop about transparency, I think our sales person used that word 75 times but they clearly are not. We drove an hour two times were handing over they money and when our mechanic said the used car with 30k miles (and never has a single thing done one it) needed new roters ont the back they refused and that was the final dealbreaker.They won’t do a single thing for you that dosent benifit them. They couldn’t even get my boyfriends name right after two several hour long visits!!!! We are telling all of our family and friends to go ANYWHERE but here. We will leave a review on every tingle platform to warn as many people as we can about this poorly run espablisnment.

I came here with my husband’s truck and told it would be a 2 hour wait which was fine but then someone came out and told me what was wrong and how much it would cost. I told him we will come back and I would like to leave with the truck and he told me it would be 15-20min. 45 minutes later I am still waiting and he is nowhere to be seen. I ask someone to help me and she finds him and he tells me it will be another 5-10min. I will not be coming back here again. It is almost an hour to go to Tarbox Toyota for me but they are so much better to deal with. I’ll be going back there from now on.

"Bad service and experience " I got a 2018 Toyota Camry at this dealer. I live in Massachusetts, when the car was "supposed" to be ready for me to leave the dealership, first the licence plates were installed backward. The maintenance engine light was on, requiring oil change. The car was dirty inside, one of the door in the glove compartment broken.... what a experience. All of this little things added 3 more hours of me at the dealer trying to get it fixed. I feel that after the sale paperwork was signed, it was hard to get their attention. On top of that, I did the inspection and pay for it myself and despite several calls, text, and emails they haven't refund me the money I paid for it. In addition, as you can see below, they “respond” asking you to contact them in order for them to solve the problem. However, I did contact them, but 2 months later the problem hasn’t been solved. It is just very disrespectful at this point.

First time buying a car here, I was put through a "rig ma role" having to come back for a vin check then they had to re-register the car with the plates that I told them I had with me. ("He" had registered it new after being told I had my old plates). Also, that car was sold to me with not so good tires and lugnuts. Second time MUCH BETTER. I had an amazing experience at Toyota of Smithfield. Starting with David in the service department, he’s one of the nicest and most honest individuals you’ll ever meet. He has such a great personality. I brought my old Coralla in for a repair after coming here for years, but decided it was time to upgrade my vehicle. Kara was an excellent sales representative. She made sure to help me select a vehicle that fit my needs and desires. I felt well informed and did not feel pressured at all during the process. Kara even stayed late to ensure that everything was handled properly. Everyone was very friendly and made it a smooth process. I really like that everyone worked so well together as a team. On a separate occasion, Mike in sales department took time to show me how to program additional features in my new vehicle. He was also super nice and down to earth. Ira in the finance department was very helpful and accommodating. The customer care and service here is top notch. I would highly recommend Toyota of Smithfield.

Get it in writing! Mike, our young and smiling salesman repeatedly told us he would get us our 2nd key for the very nice, low mileage, slightly used Toyota Prius-C we purchased. I did not get it in writing....my fault...I let him con me. After repeatedly calling, and talking to Mike, he failed to deliver. It's one of those small but important things. Nice cars, nice salesman....but, slippery....and salesmen wonder why they have such reputations! —- despite their promise to have someone reach out to me (in their response to this review), NOBODY has reached out after 3 weeks!

Very Dissapointing and lengthy experience. I visited Toyota of Smithfield initially to lease a new vehicle, and after THREE, yes 3 weeks I had gotten several false statements from Sales Mangers assuring me they will have a deal ready for me. The managers and salesman involved were terrible with returning phone calls and attending to my needs and concerns in a timely fashion. Lastly, I reached out to a sales manager here stating I am very upset with the lack of professionalism from their staff and that I will need my Deposit back. Again, the Manager assured me he is working very hard on with finalizing the deal and I'd receive a response on hour later, well the call never came in. //// I WILL be seeking the services of a competing Dealer.

From the start when I enquired on line Jasmin Taylor was a huge help, no games or gimmicks, straight up great price for a fantastic car. I've looked at at least 100 fusions and by far got the best bang for my buck. At the dealership, Derek went the extra mile, staying late on a Friday night (we got there 1 minute before close) to make sure my daughter could leave with her new car. Edit 12/12: Extremely upset by a bill received from Toyota Financial AFTER purchasing my new lease. I was told they (sales rep. John N.) would be taking my old vehicle back as-is, and getting me into a new one - zero down. After having my new vehicle for a month, I get a bill from Toyota Financial for "misc vehicle damage, mileage overage, or unpaid lease payments". They did not specify which. There was a small ding in the windshield that was professionally sealed. Colonial WAS aware of this, and asked to see it TWO times. I was never informed that I would have to pay for the windshield. Buyer beware, regardless of what they tell you, Colonial has no control over what you may be charged upon return of the vehicle to Toyota, and at no time was I made aware that such charges might occur. Very sneaky! After 5 cars, this will be my last Toyota. I do understand the need to pay for damages to the lease vehicle. However, when the dealer takes it back free and clear, and makes NO MENTION of said charges that may occur, this is a sneaky business practice. A simple heads up about this "inspection" by Toyota would have been great. REPEAT: A HEADS UP IS ALL I WOULD HAVE ASKED. I am not debating the bill for the windshield. Edit 12/13: Sales rep called and did not have a good reason as to why this charge was not mentioned. Just repeated to me over and over that "I signed a contract". Absolutely useless. Very typical.

The salesman that I worked with was Paul Conti. I have had some bad experiences with salesmen before but Paul was great. He was patient and never pushy. He answered all my questions, explaining in a way that I could understand. He was very knowledgeable about the cars I was looking at. He also went above and beyond in working with me on price. Keep him around as I will be looking for him the next time I'm looking for a new car. Because of him I drove away in a new car feeling very happy.

First of all, trying to get a live person to talk to is a feat in itself. After multiple calls of BEING STUCK IN THE QUE, I finally got thru. Made an appt for an oil change. Got there 10 min early and told them I needed to be out in an hour. I was told an oil change is 90 min average. I left and went to valvoline where my oil was changed in 15 min. Prior to this incident I took my sienna in 3 times before they finally got it right. Very frustrating that they couldnt figure it out first time around, yet they would always find something else that needed to be "fixed" total dealershop ripoff! However, I will say the staff is very friendly but I was not happy with the work done.....its still not right. Will not be going back to this dealership...too bad too as I am in the market for a new car.

If I could give this dealership negative stars I would. I bought a red 2013 rav4 with them in November 2018. In 6 months I had to go there 10 TIMES(I have paperwork) for them to look at it for the same problem(and additional problems)it stayed in their service shop 4 out of those ten times. The service techs are terrible.They ALMOST sent me home with a broken control arm link. It was making a really scary noise and I felt something in the suspension moving they said its normal and we don't even hear anything with such a smug look on their face like I dont know any better because I'm a girl. I had them get in my car for .2 seconds and show them the OVBIOUS NOISE. They were going to send me home with a broken control arm link!!! With my 4 year old. They didn't even care!! I said the cars a lemon they said no it's not. I needed a reliable car so my only option was to do trade in..they didn't even give me all of the money to cover my old loan so I had to put the rest of the balance on my new loan. They acted as if they were doing me a favor, but they weren't I just needed a new car. I see they are selling the SAME 2013 red rav4 right NOW June 8th 2019 for MORE than what I paid for and probably didnt even do a single thing to fix it. They told me they were selling it to an auction. I hope nobody buys that car!! I was so scared driving that car on the highway there. This place is terrible I am never coming back!!!

I only had my oil changed and tires rotated and it was free for me. However, Ed Doyle who took care of my car was wonderful. When I bought my Highlander in 2016 when it was Colonial Toyota they were fantastic with me. They tossed in the free oil change and tire rotation for the life of the car at no additional cost. They've always treated me great.

Do not trust Smithfield's certificate pre owned vehicles... And 160 point inspection report... BIG Liars! Our mechanic found silt in the engine and the under carriage that's was supposed to be inspected was completely rusted. The automobile we purchased was obviously involved in a flood. Buyer Beware!

Recently purchased used 2017 RAV4 from here. Worked with Ari Brooks. Had a great experience. He was super patient, knowledgeable, accommodating and got me exactly where I needed to be price wise. Not once did I feel pressured or like the dealership was getting one over on me like I have in the past with other car salesman. Even weeks later I had a typical wear and tear issue with the brakes, called Ari and he had me in with the service department same day. Will definitely see Ari for any future Toyota purchases. I bought a car two weeks ago. The customer service is awful. I was sold a car with one key. After I bought the car and questioned only one key, they told me I had to buy a second key myself. Which is crazy. If you buy a car you should have two sets of keys given to you. Also, had to take my car to have paint touch ups done. They kept my car the first day and I had to call and text to find out if my car was done. Never received a call or text back. Only to find out it hadnt been done it was going to be done the next day. Once again I had to call and text to find out if my car was done after being told on two different occasions they would call me. Never received a call. They were also supposed to have my key made at the same time. When I went to pick up the car they couldn't make my key because the guy doesn't come in until Monday. My service advisor told me that he would try to "work some magic" and call me the following morning to let me know. I never got a phone call. I called on Saturday to find out when I'm supposed to come in for my key. Service advisor wasn't working they told me theyd leave my name and number with the service manager and they have him call me back. Never call back once again! Phone calls are never returned and it seems very unorganized. Communication is lacking big time besides other problems I won't get into. I bought cars here before in the past and never had this problem. People work and cannot keep taking time off for things should have been done in the first place. Seems like they are interested in pumping out cars and washing their hands of you!!!

Top notch sales and organization. I was trading in my sports car for something more family friendly. From the second we walked in we were greeted with courtesy and warmth. Our salesperson Kassidy explained all of the changes the dealership went through since the new ownership took over and we were really taken aback. Free oil changes for 5 years, loaners, roadside assistance, carwashes, and most important of all - the salespeople made no commission! They were literally there to serve your best interest. Kassidy took the time to interpret the wants and needs we communicated and brought a vehicle up the door. It ended up being the truck that I bought, she nailed it on the first try. They really take the time to figure out what you need and put you in the best car for your budget. The dealership is very kid friendly as well. Kudos to Smithfield Toyota and triple kudos to Kassidy, the best sales person we have encountered in our 20 years of car buying experiences!

Unfortunately I have to change my mind again. Service gave me another reason to never come back there. I brought my car for state inspection today and they told me that it’s going to take an hour. I’ve been waiting for over 2 hours (had an appointment) and it would take more time but I went there to check why it takes so much time. My car was waiting for me and nobody informed me. 2 weeks ago I’ve been doing state inspection for my other car in Honda Majestic and I took only 40 minutes. Moreover in both cars TPMS light was flashing and Honda reprogrammed sensor for free and Toyota Boch in Smithfield asked for it 125$. Ask yourself why I will never go there with any car. Heard a lot of bad opinions about this place, but I wanted to give them a try. Last time they twisted a cap from oil filter too much (definitely more then manufacture recommend which is 25 Nm because I broke 2 sockets trying to untwist it). They paid for their mistake, but they don’t learn on their mistakes

I wish there was less than one star. Hands down the worst car buying and service experience I have ever had. Service department is a joke, passing things that should not have passed inspection ( I am a certified Rhode Island vehicle inspector) , and not fixing things that they said prior to sale that they would take care of. Not to mention the fact that my temp plate has been expired for over a week now and all I get is the run around since the day after it expired. And lastly the past 2 days I cant even get someone to answer the phone. If your thinking about buying a vehicle here run as fast as you can away!!!

Mike Essig is VERY straightforward and upfront with you and will talk to you like you're just an average person no matter who you are. I'm only 20, and I have been thrown around. Mike and Ira (in financing) are very nice and treat you with respect. I am very satisified with this purchase and hopeful for my future with this vehicle. I asked him to take care of a stain in the backseat, and he did. He pointed out any blemishes on the vehicle upfront and was very open with everything positive and negative about the vehicle which is absolutely wonderful. Would recommend! This is my worst experience so far. I have bought 2 toyotas in the past from a different dealership and had a wonderful experience. We were given a quote which is more than what was offered in other dealership, which is not the problem. I understand each delaer has a different business strategy. We were still talking to Anthony about our expectations and then Fred comes in and says exactly this “guys i have a present for u” , takes us out and says this the best price we can give and leave if u are not happy with it. Bought a 2019 Prius L Eco from TOS in late July. THEY HAD ONE IN STOCK!! (It is hard to find these vehicles in New England since the regional Toyota folks are pushing all wheel drives.) Salesman Eric was nice but why does it take nearly two hours to speak to a finance representative? Fred is super rude. After an hour and a half of waiting, I asked for an update. He basically told us to wait longer or not take the car. He proceeds to tell me how they sold all these cars and I need to just deal with the wait time or walk out of the dealership. You get absolutely no estimate in regards to how long you’ll have to wait, and only after an hour they’ll tell you that you’ll probably be waiting another hour. There is only maybe one finance person on site and over ten salesmen. After we finally get through finance, we get told that the car has not been washed or cleaned and we need to wait another hour. What were they doing during the first 2-3 hours we waited?? Truly the worst car buying experience I’ve ever had.
