Second Steingold purchase in less than 12 months. Unfortunately one of our other family vehicles (VW Passat) was totaled in recent accident. Although I was not initially shopping for another Volvo (because I already had one and like change) I decided to replace our totaled car with another Volvo from Steingold. Safety matters, especially with young, less experienced drivers. Everyone knows Volvo’s are one of the safest cars on the road. The thought of going through the car buying process again was something I was not looking forward to. One visit to another dealership confirmed what I already knew (and had already experienced first hand). Steingold is the easiest place to do business with and most professional car buying experience I have ever had. No BS. No games. Honest folks who pride themselves in old school customer satisfaction. You deal directly with the owners! No sales manger. No backroom deals. No ‘let me check’ while you wait around all afternoon. Straight answers and upfront, honest communication. Work with Brian, Michael or Steve. Buying a preowned car I asked for a few comestic things to be addressed. No problem. Everything was done beyond satisfaction. This was probably one of their least expensive cars on their lot. Didn’t matter, they treated me like I was buying the most expensive car in their inventory. I have purchased over 20 cars in last 35 years of all makes and models (Audi, Acura, BMW, Dodge, Ford, Infiniti, Honda, Lexus, Nissan, Toyota, VW, Volvo) from small dealerships to large auto groups. Trust me, I’m as fussy and demanding as they come. Steingold exceeds in all categories and is second to none!! Drive a Volvo. Buy it from Steingold.

Today was my first time visiting Steingold. I needed the low beam lamps replaced in the XC60 and took my chances going in without an appointment. They were able to get me in right away. We will never panic again! My husband and I are from MIssouri. We had a not so nice buying experience at the Volvo dealer in our area. We had many questions regarding our extended warranty purchase, including the type of warranty, what was best for us and how much we should pay for it. Last week I decided it was time to trade in my 2005 Volvo for a Volvo that had more passenger room... I found a 2012, XC90 online, sent an email inquiring about it and the next morning Michael from Steingold Volvo called me. He told me about the SUV I was interested in and I made an appointment to come see it on Saturday. I took the car for a test drive, and immediately loved it! To be honest the whole process couldn't have been any easier. I worked with Michael in regard to the purchase of my new car and his brother Stephen came up with a price on my existing car and the deal was done. I waited for an hour or so to get the paperwork completed and before I knew it I was driving my XC90 home. What a great experience - a must for anyone, but especially all New England military members! Steingold is a family owned dealership and brothers Michel and Stephen will go out of their way to make your purchase a great experience. Steingold even found a way to register my new car in Texas (w/ Texas tags) which is my home of record for the military. This saved me both money and the hassle of having redoing all my registration paperwork. Moreover, their possitive attitude and no pressure sales approach is unmatched. I stopped at two other RI Volvo dealerships and often felt like I was bothering them with my questions/visits. Steingold has changed my car buying experience! I worked with Stephen during this sale and he was patient as we discussed the details of the purchase. He let me test drive the new car multiple times (without him in the car) over multiple days and simply said to "just let (him) know" when I'm ready to make a decision. After a couple of days, I finally decided to buy the car. Stephen had the paperwork filled out quickly without the standard high pressure warranty/sales pitch in the finance office. When we were filling out the paperwork we noticed that the suscription for Volvo On-call was only 6 - months. We had previously agreed to a 1 year subscription; Stephen simply opened his wallet and pulled out his personal credit card and extended the service to 1.5 years to ensure he delivered to the terms of the agreement. Just when I thought they couldn't do anything more to show their level of commitment to their customers, they did! Michael spent over an hour with me making sure I was comfortable with every detail of the car and the features it offered. From start to finish it was an A+ service. I never thought I would say this about a car dealership... I trust them. That's pretty odd feeling to have when you finish buying a car, but now that they have my trust they've also gained a new/future customer. Make this your first stop when you're ready to buy your next car and I promise you won't be disappointed.

I live in Seattle WA, but found Steingold Volvo on the swedespeed forums as a good place to purchase Volvo extended warranty and prepaid maintenance plans for my new XC90. I looked online for another source when I had a bad experience at my local Volvo dealership. I loved my sales guy but then got passed to an inexperienced warranty salesperson who tried to sell us an additional $13k of warranty and service plans. Say what? He also tried to pressure us by saying that the price would increase if we didn't buy it at the same time as the car. (While that is true, it's totally misleading). We were so frustrated, we walked out of the sale that day. What a different experience I had talking with Mike Bernardo from Steingold Volvo. He immediately came across as a straight shooter. He was patient, transparent, and gave me a lot of confidence in doing business with him. No pressure and he was very honest about which options are worth the investment. We literally saved thousands of dollars choosing to purchase an 8yr/80k extended warranty, 5 service prepaid maintenance plan, and 60 mo. tire service plan through Steingold. It made we wish we lived in Rhode Island so that I could have purchased the car through them as well! Do yourself a favor: if you don't think you're getting a straight story from your dealer on these plans, call Steingold Volvo!! And if you are lucky enough to live in Rhode Island, I wouldn't go anywhere else to buy a Volvo.

He is immediately responsive via phone and email. He is straight-forward and transparent with his services and prices. Even before we talked on the phone, I could tell when I explored his website compared to my experience on other Volvo sites. While they might all have the same base template, try finding some info on a specific topic (i.e. extended warranty, Polestar upgrade, etc.) on a different site and you won't be able to find it or you'll waste your time while getting lost.

I had a great experience buying an Extended Warranty from Steingold Volvo. From a website-based enquiry to Michael calling me to discuss options, it was less than a couple of hours. He was personable and clearly explained the process and gave good information (which fortunately matched with what I had found with some of my research previously). But the main reason for the 5 stars is the price: he was able to beat the price of the dealer I was buying my new car from, and quickly I was able to sign the contract online with a few clicks on DocuSign (or equivalent). Super easy process. Not sure exactly how they are able to give such good prices on the standard Volvo EW plans through FWS, but thanks! Highly recommended.

Steingold Volvo; never fails to exceed expectations! I have been a Steingold customer for about 20 years. Bought two Volvos (yes I do drive my Volvo s about 200.000 miles on an average) from the dealership while living in Rhode Island. I always had the cars in service and repair in their shop. Still, over the years Steingold Volvo’s staff always managed to exceed my expectations of their services, not only the technical and mechanical services they provide to the cars, but the excellent customers service of their staff at the service and sales desks. Drop-off and pick up to and from home and often from the train station when my car was in for service. Their personal attention is assuring and builds trust. I moved to Upstate New York 4 years ago. I did find good dealers but none of them matched the “extra mile” service that Steingold’s staff provides. So when my V70 with 194,000 miles needed to retire, I decided to check out Steingold’s website and found a Certified Pre-owned 2008 V70 that got my interest. Unfortunately it did not have the Euro rails which I need to transport my Peinert X25, kayaks, bikes etc. They accomdated me by ordering the euro rails and promised to install them for me. Unfortunately when these rails did come in it turned out that this specific V70 could not be equipped with roof rails. I was disappointed, but Steingold’s staff did accommodate me and came up with an alternative; a 2009 XC70. They honored the original deal with the V70 and last week I went to pick up the XC70. Again the experience was unique. The car was ready and as expected in excellent condition. It was good so see the “old’ staff; friendly and welcoming as ever. All in all another great experience with Steingold Volvo in Pawtucket, Rhode Island. Just to reiterate, this time I bought the car unseen and un-driven and drove approximately 300 miles to pick it up; that is how much trust I have in Steingold Volvo of Pawtucket. A Volvo dealership in Maryland sold me an outrageously priced extended warranty. I was told that the warranty price was non-negotiable and sold to me well below the retail price. I called Steingold because I suspected that was not true. Sure enough I had been grossly overcharged. Fortunately, I was able to cancel that warranty and Steingold offered me the same Volvo warranty, with slightly better coverage at thousands of dollars less. I will not go anywhere else in the future!

As we are approaching the expiration of our first CPO on our 2011 XC90, we have been shopping around to extend the CPO/VIP coverage. After calling a few Volvo dealers including the location where we purchased the car, it did not seem that many were interested in selling Volvo extended as much as a third party warranty. These guys are great. I went in there having recently came out of a dealership that felt very sleazy. I only went in because I read their great reviews so I went in hoping it was true. And it was. Nobody talked about numbers, no pressure, none of the "what does it take to get you in this car?" games. This is a family owned dealership - not some large dealership where the employees get paid regardless of what happens. In a family dealership, customer service matters, customers matters, because customers are the lifeblood of the place. These guys definitely reflect that in their approach - they are more concerned with helping you than getting your money. But in the end, dollars are votes, and I felt comfortable with their approach so I ended up voting with my feet! ABSOLUTELY RECOMMEND VISITING THEM IF YOU ARE CONSIDERING A VOLVO.

I was extremely impressed with the experience I had with Steingold Volvo. I knew I wanted an S60 R Design and I found the perfect low mileage one online. When I called Steingold I spoke with Mike Bernardo who was very helpful. He informed me that the car I was looking at was in mint condition and was sitting on the showroom floor. I knew it was the car I wanted so I was able to negotiate with him on the phone and complete most of the legwork before even going to the dealership. It is an hour away from where I live. When I arrived at the dealership, the car was exactly as Mike described it. He had prepared most of the paperwork before I arrived and finished the rest when I gave the car a final test drive. After finalizing all the paperwork Mike even showed me how to change the settings on my car and sync the Bluetooth on my phone. The main reason I chose Steingold Volvo is because they are a smaller, more personal dealership and I cherish the personal touch and attention that Steingold offered. Michael was very knowledgeable and patient as I ordered my NEW 2014 S60 in May, and scheduled it for Overseas Delivery. Terrible customer service. Had a motor fail on xc90. Was working with Su to speak with volvo regional in New Jersey to step up and fix the problem. A common problem with the xc90’s on the mid 2000’s xc90 moisture would get i to the motor and seize the counter balance shaft. And then they tell you its 15 thousand dollars for a new motor. Come to find out on sweedspeed, a solid volvo forum, this was a common problem, and volvo sent a tech bulletin, not a recall, to try to modify the motor and drill drain any water that gets into motor and causes catastrophic failure. Steingold left me high and dry and i had to pay for a motor replacement out of pocket. Needless to say myself or my family and friends will never buy a volvo again.

I live in Colorado Springs, CO. Mr. Bernardo provided excellent and prompt service when I requested VIP Extended Warranty for my Volvo C70. I understand everyone has to work, I called and left a message and he called back promptly and offered me a selection of planes to choose from. The Colorado Springs dealer wouldn’t return my call for 3 days and when he did he only offered me only one plane which was more expensive and was after Michael Bernardo from Steingold Volvo sold me a plan. We just purchased an XC60 from Steingold. It was a completely different buying experience from our other new car purchases. It is a family owned dealership, so most of the employees are family members. When it came to price, we were able to directly negotiate with the salesman (a family member) and there was no going back between, salesman, manager, general manager, etc. It took all of 10 minutes to get the lowest price on the car (we had done tons of research before and new the bottom line price). In addition, their dealer fees were very minimal. There are times you negotiate the lowest price on a car and then the dealer hits you with 500 of doc fees. They do not do this. They did not try to upsell us on anything (e.g., extended warranty, clear coating, options we did not want, etc). By far, the easist new car buying experience we have ever had and we have purchased 6 new cars. Would highly recommend Steingold Volvo for ease of negotiation, knowledge of products and no hard sell. We walked in with the intent to not make the purchase that evening, but 30 minutes later we had purchased a car. You will not be disappointed.
