My immobilizer failed and after much research I learned I had to take my XC-90 into Smolich dealership for repair because of the needed codes. My isssue also took out my fuel pump. Although I know having genuine Volvo parts is always my preference, sometimes it’s not in my price range. Well...let me tell you that I received the BEST customer service from the service department. From the service manager to the technicians and those that assisted me in between. John, the service manager listened to my concerns, was patient with his explanations and was key in finding the best solution to get me back on the road as fast as possible and with the best price he could give me. Truly a lifesaver...without my car, life is harder. I thank Smolich Volvo from the bottom of my heart for your professionalism, excellent work and sympathetic kindness you showed me. I’ll definitely be a return customer.

Waste of my time! Was lied to about the condition of the vehicle and the water pump went out the day I was suppose to buy the car. Over priced and not willing to work out a better deal with the car. I was warned and now I'm warning future buyers. Don't buy a used car from Smolichs!!

I did not find the service tech to be friendly or helpful at addressing my concern with our vehicle. One of the reps was very nice but we weren't working with him. When we picked up the vehicle it had not been washed. When asked they dais that their wash bay was down. They did offer to have me us go to another car wash and put it on their account. This was only after i asked about it.

I am a return customer of Smolich Volvo, and use to enjoy their service. Bob McLean bent over backwards to make sure I, as a custoner, was satisfied with their service and my vehicle. But my last visit was a disappointment. When I called to explain why, the person I spoke with, John, was not only not sympathetic, but seemed to be too busy to actually be concerned whether I return as a customer. Most customer service representatives take the time and effort to find out what the problem is and try to remedy the issue, especially return paying customers. Time to find a new place to go shopping for a vehicle that actually wants return customers without worrying about how they can make money off of the customer. As for the problem with my vehicle? There's always other vehicle repair shops around that want my business and won't give me the "business".

Classic shady dealership activity. If you can't trust them before you get to the lot you can never trust them once you get there...

I very rarely write reviews but in this case I felt compelled to do so because my most recent experience with Smolich Volvo was fantastic! Our Volvo wagon was damaged while on a road trip that required a new engine to be installed and the level of professionalism, communication and transparency was off the charts great. John, the service manager was willing to go out of his way to keep us informed regularly and most importantly he was very honest about the complexity of getting the work done on time and accurate. I can't say enough wonderful things about my car buying experience. I called them on my way to the dealership to tell them I was coming and what I wanted to test drive. They had the car ready, warming up and we were on our way to test drive within minutes. I decided to buy the car and made an offer and they made a decision within minutes and the "decision maker" even came out to discuss the price with me. I was so impressed. I have been coming in to have my Volvo serviced here since I moved to Bend two years ago. Each time I come in, I'm greeted with kindness and prompt attention. Each member of the Service Department seems to go over and above to meet my needs, and I trust that they have my best interest at heart. They never seem to be trying to sell me a service that I don't need, in fact, when I went in to have my headlight fixed today, they wouldn't let me pay for the new light! I will be coming back here for as long as I have my Volvo!

Knowing that Smolich was busy and short handed, I asked them to do something extra on my Volvo before I took off for a long distance trip. They did it. The cost was less than expected. I had a bad experience today, 10/26/16. My husband and I just recently moved to Bend from Medford. We own 2 Volvos. My Volvo is having a battery issue; it will not hold a charge. I had to call AAA today to have my battery jumpstarted. After starting, I drove to Smolich Volvo, hoping to have someone look at it. The Service Dept. was difficult to find--it was on the Sales Floor. I walked around the building looking for the Service Dept. and finally arrived. No one greeted me; no one helped me. I had to approach the personnel. I was told it would be one week before I could be seen. I drove back to my new home in Bend, turned off the engine, and now the battery is, once again, dead. I will call AAA again tomorrow, and have my car towed to an alternative service specialist. Smolich could have had two new clients and two cars to service. No more. I will not go back, and certainly will not refer anyone else to this business.

Smolich Volvo and specifically John and Joey offer outstanding service. I have a newer Volvo that I bought out of the area, and had not been excited about the only service company in town because of repeated negative services for other vehicles serviced by same name. Smolich Volvo is entirely different! From the service reps to the financial rep, I have been treated with extraordinary respect and care. Issues with my Volvo, which were apparently somewhat uncommon enough for Smolich to reach out to Volvo itself, have been resolved. Additionally, an issue I have had for more than a decade with my Jeep was also resolved in once service call with Smolich Volvo which employs a Dodge tech. I am entirely pleased with the friendly, professional service and the outcomes of all my experiences with this team. I highly recommend anyone trust this team! Thank you.

The current person, John always seems disinterested in your problem. Never smiles or greets you. He doesn't seem to offer any alternatives to your issue. I think I will find a new service shop for my Volvo.

My wife and I purchased our 'first' Volvo, a XC60 T5 Momentum just a few days ago from Smolich Volvo (Bend, OR). Not only did we get a 'great deal', but a 'very fair' trade-in on our 2015 Subaru Legacy. The 'Sales and Finance Team' was terrific, answered all our questions, and never pressured us to do anything...but enjoy the experience of possibly buying a very fine 'luxury' SUV ('very safe, very roomy and all the extras that a couple would need...or want'). The service department is really nice at Smolich Volvo. When I recently went in to have new brake pads installed, they made me feel welcome from the moment I entered the door. The person who was behind the counter made sure I knew exactly what was going to be done to my Volvo and how much everything would cost ahead of time. Plus, he was able to fit me into y scheduled within a few minutes. After a short, pleasant wait in the comfortable waiting room, I was on my way. My brakes work great, BTW!

While our car buying experience was phenomenal, every time I have gone into the service department something has gone awry. The first time, the service manager was rude, and the 2nd time, I made an appointment only to be told an hour later that the appointments are check in times and my car hadn't even been started on. I had made plans accordingly and ended up having to cancel my appointment. I want to continue to give my business to Smolich Volvo, but the service department's track record is making that increasingly difficult.
