I called over a month ago and ordered some screws so I could fix my fog lights. I was told the screws needed to be ordered and they could be sent to my home 50 miles away. I was told when they arrived I would get a call and mailing 12 screws would be done. Once I gave my address, I was told the shipping cost needed to be determined. I waited to get another call back, as promised, so I could pay for the screws and shipping. The call never came. How did this get so difficult? Guess I will try somewhere else.

Had a 7:30 am Appointment set to have work done on my car. When I phoned to check on the status at 12:30pm, they still hadn't even looked at my car! What's the point of having you set an appointment time if they don't bother to get to it when they tell you they will?

Wow! After researching used Volvos for weeks, I visited Jim Fisher Volvo. I had a pretty good idea what I wanted. I was expecting the same patronizing treatment that I typically receive when I go to purchase something of this nature without my husband. Instead, Mike really HEARD what I wanted and answered my questions. Mike even let me buzz out to Hillsboro to show my husband, who was working, the car...which allowed me to get the car that day rather than wait until we could return after the holiday for my husband to see it. Dare I say that the entire experience was even fun?! I highly recommend Jim Fisher Volvo, especially our salesman Mike. When are those other car dealerships going to stop their tiresome sketchy practices? I’m so impressed, and cannot say enough good things about this place.

After getting a complete garbage treatment from Herzog Meyer, the service level received from Jim Fisher Volvo and Nick Tsytsyn specifically, it was most definitely breath of fresh air! The car issue was taken care of, and just as importantly, my customer needs were taken care of (transportation while the car was being fixed). I wish 10 Star was an option!

Paid about $2200 to have my front bumper and driver side fender replaced. Their paint machine kept breaking down, what was supposed to be 3 days ended up being 1.5 weeks, costing me an extra $200 in car rentals. Then when I get my car back, they used my old bumper trim pieces that had greyed from the sun instead of using the new black ones which came with it. I stopped by 3 times with no one in the body shop available, and left a voice mail asking them to mail it to my address, which they never did. Horribly disorganized, they'll end up costing you even more money in the long run.

Got my car fixed today.... WONDERFUL service and very fair price. Corey went out of his way to be helpful and answer all my questions. I loved that they had a shuttle service so I was not stranded. I asked to be dropped off in the Pearl District and they picked me up when my car was done. I went shopping and had lunch with my young son. Great experience and I will be back when I need service again.... even though I live in Salem :)

I am basing my evaluation largely on my experience with the Sales Representative, Mark Wanaka. He has been a delight to deal with. He has been very helpful throughout the process and a very pleasant and congenial person to deal with. I hope Jim Fisher is well aware of Mark's value to their company. We did not have to negotiate a price for the Volvo that we purchased as we opted for overseas delivery of our car. The price is fairly set by Volvo in Sweden. Overseas Delivery included free, upgraded, round trip airfare for me and my wife, a free night in a hotel, free car insurance (2 weeks)) to drive your new Volvo around Sweden and Europe, and free overseas shipping to the United States. The normal destination fee is just shy of $1000. The Parts Department, so far, has been helpful and does not seem to charge exorbitant prices. We have not had the opportunity yet to utilize, and therefore, comment on their service department. I hope it can approach the standard set by Mark

My experience with your service department was better than I heard it would be, in particular, Mr. Corey Morgan. This man went out of his way to explain to me, everything that I had questions about. Over the years, I've had many cars and many repairs done but this is my first Volvo, and to be honest, I expected to be taken advantage of like I had been so many times before. Now I feel like I have "a guy" in the service department that I know I can trust, "a guy" that I know will see that my car gets the very best care. I'm the proud owner of a 2004 Volvo XC90, recently I needed some work done on my beast. However, the repair was a specialty repair that only a certified Volvo repair center can do. I had a choice either go nearly a hundred miles north or roughly 40 miles south. It should be noted I had to town my vehicle to Portland because the repair it needed left me unable to drive the vehicle. I had the vehicle towed to Jim Fisher Volvo on Friday April 28th, I was told that the part I need would be sent from Sweden and it could take anywhere from 5 to 7 business days and I was quoted at $650 for the repair. To my shock, I was called on Wednesday April 3rd, that the part has arrived, that they installed it, that my vehicle is running perfectly again (Minus some other needed repairs) and to top it off instead of the $650 that they quoted me, the only charged $639. Suffice to say I am very pleased, I just wish I was able to bring the vehicle to them on my own without needing to rack up a $325 towing fee. The only other thing I wish is that they made it easier to get on I-5 Northbound from Portland, overall I will be back to do more business. Thank you Jim Fisher Volvo.

The service department at Jim Fisher also does a great job. I took my last Volvo to them for oil changes, tires, body repair, everything. The Fisher family has integrity and class. My next car will be purchased at Jim Fisher Volvo in the distant future.

I agree with the comments posted by SEVERAL customers in regard to service, primarily from the body repair center. I think this is important to say .... I was informed that the body shop was to close at the beginning of 2017, yet they were still taking vehicles to fix in September. Why is this so shocking to me, well, the supervisor in charge of that department stated that the body shop was poorly managed and, as a result, was going to be closed. As a logical thinking person, this suggests that any repairs needed should be directed to a body shop that doesn't have these issues. However, this was not the case and the vehicle in question took more than 3 months to fix. Does this sound like a legitimate business move? Maybe, just maybe, they thought that they would be able to get through the remainder of 2016 and shut the doors, but in doing so Jim Fisher Volvo sacrificed service and possibly their reputation. With that in mind, and what makes this even more frustrating, I could have taken my vehicle to my uncle in Mexico and he would have had it fixed in a fraction of the time -- completed equally as nice. Ultimately, I continue to wonder why the vehicle in question was taken to a place that was candid about poor management and their looming closure. In summary, I'm not writing this to be cruel or cast aspersions on Jim Fisher Volvo, but rather to shed light on a situation that could have easily been avoided -- not just for the vehicle in question, but for each customer impacted by the decision. It is my hope that future situations will be handled with more care and, more importantly, with more thought about the single mothers/fathers, the people that work two to three jobs, students, etc., that can't afford to have their vehicle in the shop for several months due to a simple lack of communication. I hope that Jim Fisher Volvo is able to rectify this mistake with the many customers that had to go through this experience and, ultimately, repair any damage to their reputation. Things happen, specifically unexpected things, but the manner in which we deal them is what is important.

I was an Audi owner prior to ending up here. I had looked at all of the luxury brands...Audi, Land Rover, Mercedes, Porche, Lexus, Acura etc. After frustration with quality and typical dealership wheeling and dealing I ended up giving Volvo a look. Aside from the thoughtful service, great trade in value (Almost 2k more than Landrover) and convenient burnside location, I found the exact kind of car I wanted -- 60xc r series. It was fast, sporty and had more features of every car I looked at in the same class. The special order took less than 14 days. Best choice I could have made was to give Jim Fischer and Volvo a shot.

This review is mostly for Doran in sales. He was awesome. Respectful, fun and no hard sell. He just let me and the family test drive the car (not even a Volvo--it was a trade-in RAV4) and asked if he could answer any questions. While the price of the car was not negotiable and I well know I didn't get the best deal ever, what is more important is that everyone I met was respectful, kind and seemed genuinely to want to help without getting in the way or pressuring us to buy. Kudos to the folks we worked with making this a very easy purchase.

My review is for the online booking. I had a confirmed appointment, for the proper type of service as well as for a rental car. I showed up at the appointed time to learn that the wrong service had been requested and no loaner car available. I was told the online booking system does not in fact work with the Jim Fisher system, which is why my confirmed loaner didn’t happen. It is only once in a blue moon that I have time during the week to get to an appointment, and i have been told I can’t come in in a Saturday for any diagnostic work. I was offered a loaner down the street, but I would have to get a ride to and from Volvo and it would need to be returned in the evening regardless of whether my car was actually ready. I know this wasn’t my service person’s fault, but I’ve waited for months to have the time to bring my car in, and to be told that I’ll just need to reschedule is beyond frustrating. I can’t be the first person to have had this experience with the online booking, so I do hold Jim Fisher as a business accountable for not taking the time to have a human double check directly to make sure that everything was in order for the appointment. They should have been tipped off when a 10 year old Volvo was showing up in their system for a 15,000 service!?!

We went here and purchased a new Volvo XC90 after we tried to go to Herzogg Meier first. The salespeople at Herzogg wouldn't give us the time of day. They wouldn't even take us on a test drive. We showed up with our three kids, but they are all above the age of 10 and were behaving well. So not sure what the story is there. It was the complete opposite at Jim Fisher. Michael our salesperson was quick to ask us if we had any questions without being pushy in the least. He allowed the vehicle to sell itself. We left about an two hours after arriving with our new vehicle and couldn't be happier.

I have to say it was one of the easiest car buying experiences I've ever had. They really have a great no nonsense attitude, I got a very good quote for the car I wanted within a few hours of doing an internet query. Terrible experience with both the sale and service departments. BUY SOMEWHERE ELSE!! As I am getting ready to sign the paperwork on my new Volvo the sales man tells me I can't take it because it is having some paintwork done. The car was damaged enough that it needs paintwork and they didn't tell me till last minute. What followed was all the bs you would expect at a high pressure used car lot. The service center is equally terrible. You work with one service advisor which at first seems great, but its a huge hassle. If your advisor is not there no one can give you answers on what is going on with your car. Additionally, every time I get my car back from the service department it has new scuffs and scratches. They are small and most would not notice, but you can tell they don't take good care of the car when it is in there shop.

WORST customer service I have ever seen! Never have I been to a place and a sales person literally runs away from a customer. I was 5 feet away trying to get his attention and he not only ignored me but turned and walked away. Then everyone else who works there hides while I look for a sales person. Unprofessional. Completely unprofessional. I would have given 0 star if it's allowed. Can't believe Fisher family is letting their employees destroy Jim Fisher's reputation in such a shameful way. My 2016 XC90 was rear ended and my first thought was to send it to Jim Fisher since I bought the car there and it's the only place I do service. After three months, THREE MONTHS, vehicle still in the body shop and repair uncompleted. During the three months, I called Jim Fisher 15+ times, and they called me only 6 times (a couple just to reply missed calls from me). I expect high quality service when I buy high-end vehicle, not such inattentiveness. Personal change should not be the excuse of everlasting delay. Show some professional management, would you? Before they started repair, additional damage was found and I understand that some problems wouldn't show up until you start working. Right before the final assembly was done, they discovered another damage? Excuse me? What have you been doing in the past three months? Is it not long enough for you to fully exam the damages? The vehicle was in your shop day and night for THREE MONTHS! I was first told to expect the vehicle fixed around Thanksgiving, then before Christmas, then after New Year. Now my only wish is to get it back before Valentine's Day. Maybe? Hopefully? I'm glad my name will show in this review. Because Jim Fisher would know who I am and I did not lie. Will never go back to Jim Fisher. And never recommend anyone to go.

I have to say that the experience was new to me. There was not pressure during the experience and they took the time to really explain the advantages of Volvo. In the end we ended up getting a certified pre-owned car because the cost was so good and the warranty was I think better than a new car! Coming into the weekend I had a coolant reservoir that was starting to leak as well as a check engine light that was always on. Despite my pleading the other Volvo dealer in the Portland area couldn't fit me in. Luckily for me Nick at Jim Fisher made time and managed to get both jobs done. Moreover, not only did they save my weekend, but the reservoir job was $80 less than I had been quoted by the other Volvo dealer. You may find or have seen an earlier post from me complaining about Jim Fisher. Let me add: I WAS WRONG. Jim Fisher is the best Volvo dealer for service in the Portland area. Thanks Jim Fisher.

I went to a different dealership to get a new key phob. They quoted 105 for the phob and one hr labor at 67 plus a software download. Problem is they were a week out. I live 100 miles away so I called around and Jim Fisher said they could do it today and it would be 250. Sounded about right. I get here and checked in. Then I'm told it's actually 330 and that there labor is 123 hourly. Definitely first and last time I will be here. Worth the wait else where.

After decades of hearing their mantra, "You'll love the way we treat you," I've owned a Volvo 1 year, been in for both maintenance and service a few times on a 2010 and it's really true. They take really good care of me. They're hourly rate is lower than Herzog-Meier and they cover the first hour of diagnostic work whereas HM doesn't. They also follow up with me a few days later after each visit just to check in. I highly recommend them

I purchased a used XC 90 that came from Jim Fisher Volvo. Recently my SUV was in an accident. Upon impact the air bags deployed. The steering wheel was poorly designed and the emblem exploded sending pieces flying. The triangle piece of the logo lodged into my hand (that wasn't on the wheel.) I ended up needing hand surgery and have some long term nerve damage. I thought Volvos were supposed to be safe in an accident but I don't buy that anymore. These weren't the only injuries but are the only ones caused by the steering wheel malfunction.

When my car is in for routine service appointments at Jim Fisher Volvo, I appreciate the personal attentiveness and thoroughness of my service agent, Rich. He makes sure to ask and listen to my responses on why I've brought my car in for service; explains what items the service department will be working on/taking care of; asks if I need a ride (they have a shuttle service for customers), while also letting me know that there is a full-service waiting area available; and he follows up with a phone call (if I am not in the on-site waiting area) to let me know the progress and/or if there are any other issues that are discovered and asking if I would like to take care of those items while the car is in service. Rich is always personable and professional, and doesn't pressures me to make a decision - he is sure to explain things thoroughly so I can make an informed decision. Great customer service = loyal customer.

I wanted to share what a great experience I recently had at Jim Fisher Volvo. I recently moved to Portland and at the time drove an XC60. I heard about Jim Fisher through word of mouth and decided to take my car there for it's normal maintenance (oil changes, tire rotations, etc). Back in November 2016 when I went to pick my vehicle up during one of it's services, I decided to take a peek in the showroom at the latest models. That's when I met Dale Neeley. I shared with Dale that my lease wasn't coming up until mid/late 2017 but wanted to see the new XC90. Dale was awesome. He knew I wasn't going to make a purchase anytime soon and still provided the highest level of service, which speaks a lot to the type of person Dale is. Fast forward to April 2017 when I had an afternoon to myself and was near the dealership. I decided to pop in and see if there were any deals. I met with Dale again and he remembered me and our conversation. We spent a lot of time (again) looking at different vehicles and test driving different vehicles but at the time, it still didn't make sense for me to do anything. Dales level of service didn't change. We kept in touch and shortly after, I received a note from him that there was an opportunity to "pull ahead on my lease" and the numbers worked for a new XC90 lease (I had very specific parameters that I wanted to stay within). It's now May and I'm driving a beautiful new Volvo (which is my fourth Volvo, I guess you could say I'm a "Volvo for life kinda gal") and I'm so happy. Dale and the rest of the Jim Fisher team were just fantastic. Buying/leasing a car can be stressful and overwhelming and Dale and his team made it fun. Thank you Jim Fisher, your commitment to service is awesome!

I didn't particularly care for them because they had to make a laser key for my Volvo and they didn't program it right nothing was working properly and they charged me $230 for the key that was outrageous I had to take the car back they have them reprogram it and it took longer than they said it would

I was able to schedule a next business day appointment with Corey to take a look at a mass airflow issue that was not allowing me to pass DEQ. In summary, Corey solved the failed code, I passed DEQ, and I also think I might have solved a reoccurring stalling/idle issue that reduced performance. Happy customer that plans to come back. What went wrong before Fisher: Prior to bringing it to Fisher, I took my 07 XC70 to a Portland independent "volvo" shop 2 times and they were not able to diagnose or repair the mass airflow issue. The miss diagnosis and unneeded repairs cost me about $400 bucks. Customer service at this independent shop was poor. Conversations were hurried and after the failed first visit they wanted me to wait another whole week before they had the time of day to look at the car they failed to fix in the first place. My Fisher Experience: Very clean shop with lots of bays and VERY smooth customer service. They diagnosed the car and brought up volvo codes that my previous mechanic did not mention during my 2 failed visits. Prices were pretty comparable to the independent shop. They even have a 10% service discount advertised so I was able to save money. They had my car done in the course of 1 day and even washed it. Very satisfied & passed DEQ. Thank you Corey & Fisher Vovlo.

A pretty terrible experience. They broke components of my car, then wanted to charge me for the labor and replacing the parts they broke. The whole ordeal took me a week or two, and they were going to charge me something like $2k (and offered no apology) for a $300 quote until I got upset at them. Their driver seemed like a nice guy, though.

My family had an excellent experience here buying a trade in 2005 S60, even though we were only going to spend a small amount of money they treated us very well, and even though we ended up agreeing to buy it "as is", they checked all the tire pressures for us, topped off the coolant and oil and made sure nothing else needed anything, as well as giving us a good deal on the car and offering to give us a discounted first service. Very nice service from a dealership that is usually selling cars for 7-10x as much as what we paid. Wayne in sales was especially helpful to us. I read a lot of negative reviews from a couple years ago, but most recent stuff seems to be very positive so it seems like they've cleaned up their act.

We have a 2015 xc60, the check engine light came on. Called Jim Fisher Volvo and from that point on our experience was a great one. Chad from the service dept. was great. Turns out one of the fuel sensors was bad and it was covered under warranty. They did a couple other things as well under warranty. Can't thank the service dept. and staff enough. Thanks again for a great experience!

An old man there at the parts department was very unhelpful. He wasn't able to find the bushing for my shocks saying there aren't supposed to be any. I left after he told me he has been working there for 25 years and he knows what he's doing. When I went to the dealer in Beaverton they were able to find the part right away and without a problem.

My service representative, Chad, is great! He is always pleasant and helpful. And I never feel like he pressures me to do more services than what my car actually needs. Also, after calling around they had way better prices than any independent shop for what I needed. By a couple of hundred dollars. This goes against the narrative that dealerships always charge more. I had a nice loaner while my car was worked on and they washed my car for me, too.

I was really excited to visit the dealership and could hear the radio commercial in my head as I walked in the showroom —“under the big blue Volvo sign—you’ll love the way we’ll treat you.” There were 5 salesmen that eyed me and my mother upon our entry and they literally looked the other way. When one of them finally made his way over, he was obstinate and would not answer any of my questions. He reluctantly asked me if I’d like to go for a test drive and when I said I didn’t have my insurance card—he told me he could not allow me to drive the car. I walked out. This was a very upsetting experience and one that I won’t forget.

Nice staff and they do good work. Always get my car on time. Taking away one star because the waiting area for service is not someplace I would want to hang out waiting at, I think you are only expected to drop off and pick up so be sure your car is ready before going to pick it up.
