Walked in and stood at the front counter for 10 minutes without so much as a second glance. So I decided to check out the cars on the show room floor. A woman dropped off some papers at a desk, walked by, I said hello and she walked straight to the bathroom without a response. Continued to look at the car I was interested in test driving. Finally, after about 20 minutes and just about all I can do on my own in a dealership, someone walked up and asked if they can do something or if I had already been to service. I told the sales associate I was interested in a test drive. He said oh I thought you were here for service, muttered something and turned away. I told him not to worry I no longer had time and I didn’t want to buy a vehicle from a company that didn’t want to sell me one. I knew what I wanted, all I had to do was confirm it with a drive. Could have been a simple transaction. Also, you’re parking lot is a disaster.

The best car buying experience I have ever encountered. There wasn't a lot of the haggling or back and forth about the price that i have experienced before when trying to buy a car. I have been a part of the University Volvo family since I purchased a used 2008 Volvo from a private party in 2010. The exceptional service there led me to purchase another Volvo, a 2011 XC90. Now I have purchased my third Volvo, a 2017 XC90, and was thrilled with the Sales Staff and the way they handled the purchase. First the Dealership is smaller on scale than the larger volume dealers and everyone in this Dealership took ownership of our purchase. Everyone makes a point to know your name and what you are considering. The Service Department has been right by my side whether at the Dealership, or with a question while traveling on vacation. Let’s just start off and be honest here. They’re a very unprofessional dealership. When you go in there they honestly don’t know what they’re talking about (I’m talking about the service people). The service manager, Tanya, is plain rude. There’s nothing professional about her. When I dropped off my car for one issue another issue came up and she tried to blame it on my drive home. I took my car in because I had an issue with my suspension likely my air pump. When I brought it home I noticed it was a very low almost like a low rider. She said it was probably because it got “uncalibrated and on my drive home.” Is that even possible for me to do such a thing while I’m driving down the highway? They don’t take responsibility for their own actions. Then when they “fixed it” I brought my car home and it was so high that you could see my submission. So now I’ve been trying to call them and of course she’s ignoring my calls. So professional! Bet she will call now! I don’t want a call from her. Never go there. Try out Volvo or Charlotte and hope they are better. By the way i bought my 2018 fully loaded XC90 R Design last March off of the show room floor. I was the first to ever drive it!

Hooked us up with a dope XC90, followed by me coppin’ a used 2017 S90. Even had the window tint already, so he knew it’d be right up my alley. That’s called a personable approach to car shopping. I had a scheduled appointment on Saturday morning to get my S80 serviced. Arrived at the dealership and they were late. I had an appointment to drop off my car and get a loaner. The service technician was very disrespectful and racist. He looked my husband up and down and told him that he was not going to give him a car and would not allow him to leave his. Now we purchased our S80 from University Volvo so we should not have had any problems. I called back 3 times on Saturday with my complaint talk to the same person each time and got no where Bob never even asked me for my number. I spoke with the manager today and the only thing he said was that's not the way we do things around here and I don't think that he meant it that way. I told him that it didn't happen to you and that you .I called Volvo of Charlotte on independence Blvd and they were very very nice that's where I will be going from now on. I do not recommend university Volvo.

Be careful with Tania and Andrew , they are the professional thieves. Thieves, never bring your cars, I trusted blindly in them and I left $ 2,500 dollars and my car is damaged and they removed all the codes that never existed to justify their mistakes and give no guarantees of anything.

He clearly explained each document I signed as he handed them to me and was willing to answer any questions I had (though I had very few questions due to his transparent explanations). I just purchased my third Volvo (my last one I drove for 15 years) and couldn't have been happier with the entire process, which was easy and painless. Even if you're just browsing or know exactly which vehicle you want to drive off the lot, PLEASE call ahead and ask for Bob Kennedy. Bob is a phenomenal salesman and will bend over backwards to make sure his customers know their options and end up with the Volvo they love. He set up an appointment so I could test drive any car I cared to try out, was very transparent about pros and cons about each vehicle and its financing, and walked me through all the features of the vehicle I fell in love with. Everyone who assisted me, including the sales manager, Jeff, and finance manager, AJ, were fantastic and made sure I had a positive experience!

Absolutely the worst experience we have ever had with any dealership. I am 60 years old and have owned numerous vehicles personally and about 65 business vehicles and no dealership has been so incompetent. My wife was planning on buying a new Volvo SUV this spring, being a longtime Volvo owner, but that will not happen because of our experience with the Service Manager at University Volvo. Volvo does make a great car. Ours is a 2005, S60, with 136,000 miles and is still a looks new.

I was very impressed with my experience at University Volvo. I went in looking at a Used Jeep they had on the lot. Daniel Lechner came out and began helping me by sending me on a test drive. I came back later to test drive again and made my purchase. The entire process was easy, hassle free, and no pushy feelings around the whole thing. The impressive part for me is 4 days after buying this Jeep, the Water pump blew out on it. If you know these Jeeps, you know this has happened on most all in this model year by a certain mileage. But it was unfortunate. Daniel took it to service and once we determined what it was, they offered to take care of it if I helped with Parts (Labor being the expensive part of all of this) even though it wasn't their vehicle brand or a covered item under Manufacture Warranty. I didn't have to ask for this, In my opinion they didn't have to offer it. The service manager apologized and said they looked for this sort of thing before selling and didn't see any evidence (which again, if you know these Jeeps, this is not surprising and I looked as well and didn't see anything before buying). I have a few more things they are going to take care of for me in the paint, but going ahead and leaving this review as I was very pleased and see no reason that would change.

Although reviews may be generally biased considering a negative response is more likely to evoke a review than a positive experience, please keep in mind that even a few incidents at small dealerships (where the same people pull all the deals) can speak volumes about your potential interactions before and after the point of sale.This review is strictly in regards to very poor customer service before the point of sale. I'll start by saying I really wanted to buy a car from these folks. My salesman's name was Daniel, who amplified the negative experience. That is, he gave no eye contact during conversation and focused on his cell phone instead. Complete lack of respect, and waste of my time. Another issue regarding customer service was their issue for putting something in writing. For some reason, this was a daunting task that required going to the manager who then, for some reason or another, thought I wasn't interested in the car. I simply did not what them to "forget" ANY verbal agreements. They then asked the same question three times, spread out along the manager and the salesman. When the customer raises his/her voice after you asked the same question three times; this is natural instinct, as-in it's not apparent you heard us the first time. Overall, there are plenty of dealerships in the area with the same cars and competitive pricing. Why put up with bad customer service when you may have to service your car there in the future?

The crew at University Volvo has done all the servicing of my 2013 S60 and I’ve always been very pleased with their work. They never try to up sell me or get me to do weird fluid changes and flushes like I’ve experienced with other auto shops. For the first time in 5 years I needed something fixed other than routine maintenance and they took care of it for me - it took longer than originally anticipated but they gave me a pretty nice loaner so all was well. I will continue to bring my car there and if I decide to buy another Volvo they’ll be at the top of my list.

BEWARE!! Do NOT bring your Volvo here for service! The service manager is RUDE and UNPROFESSIONAL. The service department: inept and DISHONEST. I brought my 2016 XC60 in for a check engine light and was told I needed spark plugs. 3 days later: the light was back on and the engine sputtered when I started it. Brought it back and was told "need new coils". 2 days later: engine light back on and brakes grinding. Now told "need new injectors ". I am convinced they have created these problems to make $$$. I will not take my car back to them to "fix" it. AVOID!!!
