I purchased a 2019 Volvo XC60 from Rich Mac. The entire experience was a very pleasant one. Rich was excellent to work with. He knew about his cars and would find the answers to any questions he didn't know. I was never put under any pressure. I also met with personnel in the Service and Parts Departments ahead of time to ask them some more esoteric questions. They were very welcoming and gave me appropriate responses. Even my dealing with Ivor who assessed my trade-in and the sales managers were low key and pleasant. I know cars in depth and decided that this was the right car for me at this time. I couldn't have asked for a better experience.

I got my XC90 lease on Saturday June 29. after driving a few miles the car started to stop running and needed to restart everytime I stopped in a traffic. I called the dealer, they requested me to bring back the vehicle, which I did. They said the car is good after they drove it. I had leased the same model XC90 for three years before and I am will familiar with the car. I drove the car home but the problem increased I got a permanent engine alarm signal, sensors were not working, too much vibrations. I called the agent again , they requested me to drive back during my working hours, I postponed all the meeting I had to drive the car back to the dealer. After I explained I had a tight schedule, they offer to drop me to my work and they promised that I will get my car fixed the same day, which I am still waiting to happen.

Purchased a car with Steve Prestup -- amazing purchasing experience! Went to another dealer closer to my home...then tried this one. Steve was friendly, to the point and NONE of the traditional "let me waste your time while I 'talk' to my manager" line. He delivered on EVERY thing he said he would. The process almost felt too good to be true! This was the easiest car purchase I've ever made. Don't buy a Volvo anywhere until you've spoke to Steve at Volvo Cars of Manhattan first!

I have been owning and driving Volvos for nearly 17 years and have had the experience of going to multiple dealerships in New York and New Jersey area. My Brooklyn dealership closed and I received a notice that Volvo cars of Manhattan will be in my service center and in the same announcement it stated that they will pick up my car for service. When I called the story was different And they stated that they do not pick up from Staten Island. They also stated that they will not be able to drop off a loaner and that I must come in person. I reluctantly agreed as the car needed service and they were the closest dealership to me. I made an appointment in advance to drop the car off and pick up a loaner and then have my serviced vehicle returned to me the following day. I came to the dealership and apparently their loaner fleet is minimal and the loaner that was supposed to be returned was not back and no one from the dealership contacted me about this issue before I went out of my way to drop my car off. After spending nearly an hour at the dealership there was still no loaner. The service manager reluctantly made arrangements after I complained that I cannot come a different day, for an Uber pick me up and drive me from my house to my work where they would later deliver my serviced car the next day. I had no choice and although it inconvenienced me I opted for this option which they deliver it on. The car was returned to me the following day serviced and washed with the vehicle errors being remedied. I feel that the service for a long time Volvo owner could have been better and that arrangements should have been made knowing that they do not have a loaner and a customer coming to pick one up.

I researched the XC90 extensively and visited 2 dealerships prior to visiting Manhattan Volvo. I knew what I wanted and Eduardo was a class above the other sales agents I met with. It was refreshing not to be pitched a sales talk but to be listened too and have all my questions answered. My comfort level increased ten-fold after talking with Eduardo for 5 minutes. He is informative, attentive, a good listener and professional. Good experience all around.

My husband and I Loved working with Wayne (Sales) and Mustafa (Mangament financing). Wayne was great for test driving the 3 models we were interested in and was not pushy and never rushed us. I’m incredibly grateful how honest, transparent and helpful Moustafa was with the financing. My husband was out of town so it was myself who dealt with Moustafa and after 25 years of buying cars I was a little jaded and looking for the angle however he offered us the lowest rate out there and showed us the dealership invoice so we knew we were getting a great deal. The best car buying experience ever! We love our new XC60!

My car was towed here for service and the tow truck driver witnessed the employees back it into something and cause damage. He called me to tell me and when I called the dealership they assured me the car was fine. After hearing nothing from the dealership for two weeks I was told it had been ready to pick up for 10+ days and they threatened me with $700 of storage fees. When I picked up my car the entire back bumper was scratched up and they are playing dumb about the incident. Denying I ever called to discuss it and denying any responsibility. They were unable to produce a walk around assessment of the vehicle to prove the state of the vehicle upon arrival. The man I spoke with mentioned waiving the storage fees and this time said $4500, and encouraged me to drop it and leave. They were very short with me through the whole process and I felt as if the repeated mention of a now inflated storage fee was an attempt to make me feel like I was not being cheated as badly as I could be. If you need your Volvo serviced I highly suggest taking it elsewhere where both you and your vehicle will be treated with respect.

My SUV XC90 started to sputter and stop in the middle of the highway on a 3 hour trip from upstate. Barely missed getting into accidents when it did this 6 times over (but as soon as I turned it off and turned on again, it would start up again and run for another 15 minutes). Took it in to the service which cost $4000 +. Just 1 month after service, car starts to stop again on the highway, we were barely missed by a huge truck. Called the service and informed them we were "stranded" in upstate again and needed assistance. Person who took message said they would call us back asap. It has been two days since the call. So, $4000 for one month of a functioning car and now, being forced to drive this death trap back to NYC on back roads in case we need to pull over. As soon as I can, we're getting rid of this car and never again a Volvo.

Had a great experience at Volvo Manhattan, brought in my 2017 XC90 for a service and problems with my brakes, and numerous other issues that were discovered in the inspection, but handled efficiently. The regular service and some of the work was at no cost, the rest was somewhat on the pricier side but my rep, Prem Dass, was so nice and polite, as well as exceptionally accommodating with my restrictive schedule, and my car was returned cleaned which was appreciated!

I bought a used car from this dealership on August 2016, the sale's person premised me another set of key at the time of the sell because they only have one set of key to offer which I never received. I have called everything week since August last year, the sales person never returned my calls. I also spoke to the receptionist and asked to speak to her manager, I was told I will get a call from him, that is also never happened. I have never worked with any company that is so unreliable like this dealer ship. I am not recommend this company to any one, after all I spend over $70,000 to buy a car, it's not a cheap car. I was just so disappointed with this dealership. No one deserve to be treated like this.

This review is for Volvo Cars of Manhattan service department. My car's engine light came on few days ago, and I went there for a service on Presidents' day early morning. It's a holiday and I told them I need the car on the same day since we scheduled an out of town trip. Once the service adviser came in office and they work on my car right away. I waited there for couple of hours, and they fixed my car and explained to me what was the problem with my car. I didn't buy my car from them, but their service department is exceptional. I am very happy with their service. Highly recommended.

This used to be a Maserati dealership, but it looks like the service manager, William McKeigan, is unfortunately still there. You should accept that there will be some problems with the car, but they were handled SO poorly by him and his staff. After you leave the car with them for 2 days, 3 days, or a week and a half...he'll call to tell you your car is "done" and "ready for pickup." You rearrange your schedule, get a ride with a friend to get into the city...then you pick up your car only find out 25 miles later, when you're back home, no repair was made. Don't know what the sales is like nowadays, but keep in mind that even if your sale goes fine, the service dept will be the one to (mis)handle simple things like (not) getting your license plates, for example.

Avoid this dealership at all costs. Purchased a "new" "used" car from them that turned out to be a rebuilt vehicle, which was never disclosed to me. They are owned by a company called Recovery Racing, which is a salvage and restoration company. The finance manager also forged my signature on a title application and still owes me for the taxes and registration fees they charged me for and never paid. Bunch of con artists running this place.

When i called to get our car scheduled for maintenance i had asked as to how long volvo would need the car , the women who.made thos appointment assured me that we would have the car back the same day. Upon the service department receiving the vehicle the service advisor called me to let me know he got the car. I asked when i can expect to have back my car and he said not today, i explained him that i discussed this prior to him having my car. He was super rude about the entire situation, tried hanging up on me several tines . I ended up pulling the car out . PS this car lease is going back now and i will no longer be driving a volvo due to this .. i was very close to signing a new lease with one of the salesman but not going to happen.

I usually dont write reviews but had to on this one. Zero communication amongst themselves. They had my car for 2 weeks. They were unable to fix dings and dents for which I purchased insurance...from them btw. Day of pickup, I show up in the am and the car is not ready to go. I left the car with them since I worked close by...show up in the pm and car is still in the shape i saw it in the am... a bunch of marker spots on the car and dirty. Mind you, I paid for my bill in the am. They had me wait another 15 mins so they can get my car ready, when they had it ALL DAY. No apologies, no remorse...from any staff member. I will take my Volvo elsewhere for service!

While sales reps at other dealerships were sending me incoherent e-mails with no punctuation, and refusing to work with me over the phone, Rich was able to send clear information and follow through until we got the deal done. The finance guys of course, by nature, are a bit more intense, but Michael wasn't too bad, haha. And Amir was easygoing as we finished up all the paperwork and went over additional coverage options. Notorious rip-off artists. AVOID at all costs! I took my 2011 car in for its 75,000-factory service. It's a routine job -- changing spark plugs, fluids, filters. The cost? $1,667 (after a $100 coupon discount)! I had been calling Volvo Cars of Manhattan the entire week leading up to my appointment as I wanted to know how much it would cost and how long it would take. No reply. I show up and they hit me with this. I went ahead with it because I needed the service, and having just come off Volvo of America service warranty, I had no idea how much something like this would cost. But I called around to some area dealers afterward and found out that Volvo Cars of Manhattan had ripped me off big time. Here are what the other dealers quoted me for the SAME job: $450 (Riley Volvo, Stamford, Conn); $900 (White Plains Volvo); $932 (Kundert Volvo, NJ); $395 (VC Auto Repair, NJ. An excellent indie shop specializing in Volvo and run by a former master Volvo dealer mechanic.) So why did this cost me so much? I thought it had to be a mistake. I finally got someone from the dealer's service department on the phone. Tom Palladino, the service director, says he thinks their rate was competitive and their service superior to competitors, and he offered to give me a free detail to make me happy. I appreciated his time but didn't take him up on the offer. I did try taking it up with Volvo of America but they told me that their authorized dealers, to whom they grant a license to operate in their name, can charge customers whatever they want. So I'm completely out of luck. But YOU don't have to be. Beware of Volvo Cars of Manhattan. I think this is their MO. They book your appointment, don't answer questions about time/cost at the time of the booking, promise you a follow-up call that never comes, and ignore all calls from you. Then you show up to your appointment in a bind and already having committed the time, and they take full advantage. They saw me coming and fleeced me. I failed to do my homework and fell for it (just LOOK at the litany of similar complaints on their Yelp page). Fool me once, shame on you. But it won't happen to me again. Don't let it happen to you. Do yourself a favor and learn from my costly lesson. Take your business ANYWHERE but Volvo Cars of Manhattan. Don't say you weren't warned.

I would agree with the review below. Steve Prestup was a great advocate for me in getting my car. This was my first car, so it was a big deal. He made sure he answered all of my questions and apologized personally when he couldn't be there on the day of the delivery of my car, which I appreciated. Manny was there that day and he answered all of my questions. He didn't rush me and took his time, which made me feel like a valued customer. I would highly recommend Steve if you are looking for a great car.

I entered the Volvo showroom about a week and a half ago and was greeted by Richard Mac. He was courteous, professional and accommodating—which is usually 1-2 out 3 from most salespeople and sometimes zero out of three. He knew exactly which model I wanted as well as the features from the email I sent that morning and that let me know that attention to detail is a strong quality with him, took me on a test drive and never felt rushed to get to the dealership. We got back and within 15 minutes negotiated a very fair lease deal on a black on black S60 T6 Momentum which is incredible. The finance part with Amir was also very pleasant and efficient as well; which my wife was very happy about. Richard then went over the details of the car and was very thorough and patient in answering our questions. This was by far the best dealership experience I’ve ever had. I loved it so much that even though I will reside in Pennsylvania in the next day or so, that when our primary car lease is up in February of ‘20 I will be back to this dealership to lease either a XC60, XC90 or a V90 as the primary family vehicle. Very quick turnaround time on answers to questions we had about the add on packages, timing on the vehicle availability, the approximate monthly payment. We were in our new car within two days. Steve made the process seamless as he returned my previous car to the lessor, even though it was not a Volvo. Financing process was painless. Everything about the car was as promised and on time. WARNING. The second you sign the lease, you're on your own. Their sales associates, specifically Jeff and Mike - Will leave you high and dry with a LEMON. This establishment is absolutely terrible. They have the worst customer service I've ever experienced. We started a lease in May of 2018 for a brand new XC40 and it's been nothing but a headache. Starting with their sales reps, and DMV paperwork that was never filed. They promised to handle, and it took 2 months. After a few weeks the XC40 began to have constant maintenance issues. With alerts lighting up the dashboard. The only solution is bringing the car back to the dealer (multiple times). Each visit, they can't guarantee a time of when the car will be ready, and NEVER give you a loaner. This has happened twice. If you need your car for work? Tough luck, is the response you'll get. Even at this current moment, I'm without the car. Can't get an answer on when it will be ready, due to a seat belt issue which needed a part to be ordered! On a NEW CAR. Of course will not give us a loaner. STAY AWAY!

This place is a joke. I have called for the last 2 weeks trying to get an appointment made for my XC90. Half the time when i call i get a Voice mail answering system and the other half of the time a get an incapable receptionist who keeps telling me that someone will call me back to make appointment. To this date no one has called me back and the last time i called i got the front desk voice mail again and gave up.

I do not recommend working with this dealership. I've had experience with Volvo of Englewood as well as Volvo of Mt. Kisco and this dealership is at the bottom - primarily due to the sales department. I had decided to give this dealership a chance for my business and traded in an S60 for an XC90. They assured me that all costs associated with my previous lease (remaining lease payments, excess wear and tear) would be voided. I was surprised to receive a note from Volvo financial that money was due for wear and tear. The sales agent as well as the head of sales (Mike Dillon) has not been responsive to this concern. I would not recommend work with this dealership. I'm sure there will be a response from a manager to boost the perception of this situation. Englewood and Mt Kisco are a short drive away.....

The service department is a den of thieves. My experience was less tragic than others, but I’m sharing because it illustrates that no scam is too small for them to pursue. They tried to upsell me for the car to pass NY State inspection on my *2 year old* XC 90. When I declined to buy their overpriced and unneeded item, they failed the car. It isn’t even the wasted $37 that bothers me, it is the blatant falsehood, assuming I knew Absolutely Nothing about cars and would fall for their line.... “well ma’am it is so the car can be it’s absolute safest.” If you have any regard for your money and don’t need the faux-upscale coffee in their Swedish-designed lounge area, go elsewhere. PS I did go elsewhere, and the car passed inspection.

I wish I could give them less than 1 star. Called them 3 times 3 different days to get a service appointment. They told me they were busy and would call me back, which they never did. I took my business to queens volvo, where I got my car from. I would never recommend anyone to go in Manhattan Volvo.

Due to Volvo's safety, thor lights, its attractive aesthetics, and ultimately working with Luis in the very beginning stages of deciding which car to choose; Luis exuded patience, friendliness, comfort, and an honest experience. There are so many horror stories about purchasing a car that it sent me to research until there was no more room to retain any more information. Luis was attentive by responding and checking up to see if the interest for a Volvo was still alive without feeling any pressure. Once our decision to get a Volvo was made, Luis still kept in contact in a timely fashion; never too soon and never too late -- right on time. Luis' calm, friendly sounding voice when leaving his message was the beginning factor to do business at Volvo Cars of Manhattan dealership. From start to finish, we had a pleasant experience at this dealership. What I appreciated the most that Luis gave was his willingness to deal with me via telephone, text and email; it made the process easy and at a pace comfortable for us. I told Luis that we do not window shop because it is a tease and that we come to purchase; the car was chosen, paperwork completed and by the end of the week the agreement was signed and sealed; the key fobs to a brand new 2017 XC60 Inscription was handed over to us. We are a down-to-earth family; Luis and Amir were also down-to-earth adding to the business experience personality and friendliness. Volvo Cars of Manhattan was clean, airy, a welcoming front desk Assistant, friendly staff, a comfortable waiting area, snacks and drinks for their customers -- it was an inviting place. Not every dealership and dealer works for everyone but this shoe fitted perfectly for us. Thank you Luis for your professionalism, friendliness, funny personality, and working a deal that suited our family -- it worked for me and we had a great experience with you. Amir, thank you because usually in the Finance Department one tends to walk away with all sorts of things not wanted but pressured to purchase. We never felt that when dealing with you in your department. P.S. I parked too too too too close to the curb and I immediately moved it but said "ahhh it's covered -- LOL." Visited this dealership twice. First time was for the 10K service and second time was for clicking noise from driver compartment. Excellent and pleasant experience during both visits. Friendly staff and great environment. Drop-off and pick-up are super efficient and smooth. Prem was my service advisor for both visits and he is truly a star! This is my first lease with Volvo (XC90). Not really that familiar with the brand but went for it because of its stylish design and excellent safety ratings. Thought I’d give it a try. I leased with Bay Ridge Volvo. Unfortunately, the place closed down shortly after I leased the car. I was worried and unsure where to turn to until I received a letter form Volvo Manhattan saying they would be taking care of customers from Bay Ridge Volvo. True testament came as the lease mileage approaches 10K. I made appointment online and arrived at the dealership super early and brought all my lease documents with me and more paperwork not knowing what to expect. The next thing that happened changed my perspective entirely - meeting my service advisor Prem. Prem made everything super easy for me and never mind all the documents. I dropped off the car and was on my way to my next destination in no time! By early afternoon my car was ready for pickup and all washed! Throughout this time, I was kept up to date on the status of my service. My second visit is even better, I was bothered by a clicking noise while driving but could not figure out where it’s coming from nor what’s causing it. I took the car in and next thing you know it’s flawless again, the same date! There are many brands we could choose from in today’s competitive market. However, what truly sets Volvo Manhattan apart is their excellence in customer service both pre and post sales. Often, we find ourselves in situation where we see huge discrepancy before buying/leasing vs. after. I’m happy that I found the right dealership and look forward leasing/buying from this dealer in many years to come! Thank you Volvo Manhattan!

Typical “treat you like family” sales people that did not explain anything about the service piece. I’ve bought tire and rim insurance but after 4 torn tires in two years I’ve had to pay for each tire out of pocket and didn’t know that Volvo on call could have towed and fixed for free. Charles was the sales person.

"No Customer Service" This place will bleed you dry over charging you for service that they take hours between other vehicles to do. If you spend $240.00 for an oil change the bill will be $600. It is very sad that people are simply taken advantage. Keep your eyes open at Volvo Cars of Manhattan.

I bought a used Porsche from Volvo cars of Manhattan on 10/13/16 and this review is a testimonial to the experience. I found this sweet used Porsche Panamera on the Volvo cars of Manhattan website and was instantly stoked and wanted to check it out. I expressed interest and almost immediately after I got a call to schedule an appointment to check it out. Even though this was not a Volvo that I purchased from them, the sales rep Steve Prestup did enough background study to advise me comprehensively about the car, features, history, service records, etc. Being a first time car buyer in US (being a foreign national), I felt comforted by the reliable advise and transparency of information that I received from Steve, and that allowed me to make a purchase decision quick. I was also assisted in securing financing for the car in the most hassle-free way I imagine it can be done, and the rates, etc. I felt were rather fair. Since this was a used car, driving it around for a couple of days, I discovered small niggles and before I could get a chance to call up, I received a call from Steve asking about my experience thus far. Hearing that I had a few issues, he immediately got in touch with the nearest Porsche dealer and scheduled an appointment for me to get the car fixed. It was fantastic that Steve called to check with me, before I had a chance to call with my complaints! Overall I would rate the dealer as a 5/5 as I felt they were knowledgeable, gave a fair deal and all the staff were extremely pleasant to deal with. All the paperwork processing was done very efficiently and that was awesome!
