Do you want to have the experience of taking the wrong baby home from the hospital? That’s basically what happened to us at Northstar Kia. We owned a 2011 Kia Soul Exclaim and wanted to test drive a new one only because we were interested in getting a car with the latest auto-driving features such as Lane Departure Assistance and Forward Collision Warning. We told the salesman specifically that we wanted a car with these features. On Sunday December 30 2018, gave them $1,000 on our credit card and signed a contract for $22,160.76 which took into account a $2,000 rebate and a $4,000 trade-in allowance. The manager also signed it. The salesman advised us that there were not many Kia Soul Exclaims with the specs we wanted so it would take a while to get one. We told him that was fine, and we all agreed that we would pick up the car in mid-February. Then we never heard from the dealer. In early February I started calling them. We were told our salesperson was no longer there and that the dealership had changed hands because of problems with the prior dealership. They could not find our contract. They did find our $1000 deposit which they did not offer to return. After they stalled us for a couple of weeks and kept pushing our pickup date forward, we finally agreed on February 18 2019 as the pickup date. We arrived at Northstar Kia on February 18 2019 as agreed at 3:30 and were introduced to a salesman named Moon Lee. The whole experience was starting to be like a science fiction episode where you go to your office one day and everyone you know has been replaced by people you don’t know. We were there for five hours. The dealer did not have a car for us when we arrived. Nor did they know what kind of car we wanted or what price to charge us even though I had had extensive conversations with them earlier in February. We had left our contract home assuming stupidly that they would have a copy even though we knew they had lost it. I had my husband go on the Kia website and rebuild the car. At 8 PM, which at that time of year is after dark, they brought us a car that they had picked up at Hudson Kia in New Jersey, and shoved it at us. I was concerned that the price we were being charged exceeded my memory of what we had contracted for, so they offered us a free installed roof rack, which we accepted because I wanted a roof rack. Mr. Moon told us that if we gave him a five star review on Yelp we could have free floor mats. We drove it home to Brooklyn. In the morning I noticed that the car had two scratches. I brought the car back to Northstar Kia and got my roof rack thinking the only argument we were having was about scratches. But the worst was yet to come. In early March I finally sat down in the car with the manual to really learn the car. I looked for the lane departure warning button where the manual said it was supposed to be and saw that it was blank. The car did not have a lane departure warning feature. Worse it did not have forward collision prevention or enhanced cruise control. The only self driving feature it had was a rather inaccurate beeper that was supposed to warn you about how much room you had to pass. The whole point of getting a new car now was to get those features and lo and behold this car did not have them. When I so advised my husband, he absolutely could not believe it. What a nightmare.

I usually don't write reviews regarding service. However, yesterday I stopped by Northstar Kia in efforts to trade in a car that had cost me so much money to repair mechanically. I was at my wits end because nobody would trade the car in and finance me a new one. I was Blessed to meet Jasbina from Kia Long Island and I had a complete meltdown while speaking to her about my circumstances. I felt defeated and out of options but Jasbina was so understanding and so patient with me and told me that she would try to help me. She was very honest considering my difficult circumstances with my upside down finance. I left the dealership elated and no longer felt defeated when Jasbina and her team was able to get me a finance for a brand new car. The tears are rolling from my eyes as I speak because Jasbina made something I thought was impossible possible. I cant thank Jasbina and her team enough. So if you think that getting a new car is impossible when you have credit issues. Please stop by Long Island Kia and ask for Jasbina. I promise you will not be disappointed.... Nicole

Have been here 2-3 times now but waited till today to finally write a review. I must say I felt very good with how they treated me and how Darlyn Davis spoke to me and assisted me. They have new staff and this review is relevant to the Service department, since I haven't gone to purchase yet, please keep the review in perspective. Since I've been there before I did notice a change in the staff and apparently under new management. Nevertheless I went into the show room and things looked a little different, less sales reps but they have the newest models out etc. Try them out for service and see what you think but I appreciated what was done with me.

Every department at this dealership tried to scam us. Test drove with Joe (nice guy) then came back the next day to buy. Joe wasnt there, so someone else took over. We were passed around by 3 salespeople. Two of them told us the car had a mandatory tracking device already installed (iTrax), but it only cost $20. A third salesman restarted paperwork that the first one apparently filled out wrong. We waited for 6 hours to start the contract. Ron in Finance told us the tracking system wasn't mandatory, but reduced the price to $5 since we were misled. That price was not worth arguing over, so we kept it. The total cost of the car was higher than I expected, but I figured i must've calculated wrong. After getting home we noticed Ron had added an additional $995 transpo fee and the tracking device was $495. I called the next day and complained. Joe came in and made sure the contract was redone without the extra fees and without iTrax. We went to the service dept to remove the device. The lady in the office said they removed it and showed me a box, but I asked the mechanic separately where the device had been installed and he didn't know what I was talking about. He said all he did was run a diagnostics check on the car. THERE WAS NEVER A DEVICE IN THE CAR! THEY LIED! Which means they charged me for it and didn't include it! Ron then waited a couple of months before sending our contract to the bank. We called him several times. He swore he sent it in and then tried to convince us the bank was charging the dealership for our car and we should make payments to the dealership to reimburse them. THIS MAKES NO SENSE! CLEARLY A SCAM! I reported them to Kia's corporate office and to the BBB. DO NOT TRUST THIS DEALERSHIP!

I have been trying to get my refundable deposit back for well over a month. Each time I get a differnt excuse. At first they said sure come puck it up, I arrive and they cannot open the safe or write a check even though he is the manager. They said we will mail it. Ok fine. After two weeks of not getting it, numerous calls and unanswered texts, they say it is going out. Wait a few days and oh it was sent to the wrong address, but had no tracking information. Then the manager is on vacation. Then we need a copy of the receipt with the deposit info. I thought the check was in the mail so why this run around? Another week goes by and assured the mgr is back and it will go out today. Now it is Friday and I have texted everyday for a update. After texting I’m contacting BBB and and consumer affairs, I get a text it has been sent but they don’t have time to send the tracking info. Guess Monday morning I will have to make lots of phone calls. Don’t shop here if a deposit is required. You won’t see it anytime soon. Update: there is no way to reply to another post. But here I am, still waiting for the refund. A reply was given to contact Darwin he was truly sorry and wants to fix this. The phone number is always unavailable and the mailbox is full. He has not attempted to once call me although Raul says he is aware of situation. I will continue to give updates and will be posting on other sites.

Let me begin by saying that this is more a reflection of the business practices that all Kia Dealers are using with the Kia Telluride. I was contacted by Northstar and asked to come in as they had a Telluride Prestige SX in stock. I was also told that I would not be charged over MSRP. Fast Forward once we are ready to discuss the figures, the car was marked up $10,000 based on the “demand”. I spoke to the owner who said he will accommodate me based on the misinformation I received. They promised to honor the price based on MSRP. I will say they were very nice and I will not take away the fact that they were professionals but there was also a bit of deception as well. It turns out the vehicle that they stated was in stock in order to get me down there was suddenly not available. Though I had a vin and stock number of the vehicle posted on their website, they stated the vehicle wasn’t in stock and in order to honor the MSRP pricing I’d have to wait until sometime in November. I am frustrated that 1) I was made to come there and promises were not fulfilled 2) The deceptive practices. Again the folks that helped me were nice. Nice and ethical however are two different things.

My experience at Northstar exceeded my expectations especially since there was a small snowstorm. Enough snow to delay all services. But that was not the case. I purchased a Kia Telluride through them and I would not recommend others to do the same. Unless you want a headache and a brand new car with ripped seats and trash all in the backseat. Very disorganized, gave different prices in emails and it seemed nobody knew what they were doing. You also get a big call center when you call, which in itself is misleading. Run from this place

not a good place to do business. They stall customers, take too long to forward completed application to bank. Why does it take over a month for transactions to be finalized? First I called the dealership about a specific vehicle, and color, I spoke to someone and they said They Have the vehicle, when arriving to the Ship, and you asked about the car they said oh we have that car just not in the color you wanted. So they me showed me something else. I drove 3 hours to look at the car, !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Then they to convince me to finance something totally different And convince it was a better deal and car, now I went to Kelly blue book and they was shown to be overly priced by the dealership. Northstar Kia was great I️n helping me purchase my new Kia Stinger. They didn’t have any on the lot, but my sales person Alfred saw that there was a used one, a took me there to drive I️t to get a feel of the car. Once I️ drove I️t I was hooked. The nicest customer service that I experienced in NY. I took my three little girls with me and despite of long waiting time, I am very satisfied with their service. I took my car due to leaking on fluid tank and they filled up the wash fluid too!! I didn’t expect them to filled it up so it was a big surprise for me. After the service, I went to grocery shopping and the back passenger door( power door) didn’t closed completely. Just by looking at it, it seems like closed but the system says it was opened. I called and they helped me get it fixed over the phone!!! Very helpful and kind. The only negative is the parking. I am from TN where free parking is available to most facility and every dealers have their own parking lot. So it was pretty new experience to find a dealer without parking lot. Other than parking issue, EVERYTHING WAS PUUUURFECT!!

I went to North Kia today, after seeing 2020 Telluride EX on their website for $38,016. When I got there I was greeted by salesperson named Johnathon, he was very nice guy and accommodating, the two stars rating for him otherwise I would have rated this dealership zero stars. Right away Johnathon informed me that the car was not available, that’s deception #1 , but I decided to give them a chance to do business with. I had my share of experiences with Leases in the past, so over the years I educated myself on how leases are calculated. Now let me tell you about dealing with the sales manager Efrain Fournier, this guy wants to lease me 2020 Telluride EX for $489/ month with $3800 down and trade in which he valued at $6500, that’s another rip off, because I appraised my car at several different places at $7900. Anybody who is familiar with lease calculation, will tell you that this is an outrage rip off in broad daylight. Luckily I am an educated person and didn’t give the opportunity to Mr. Efrain Fournier to rip me off. Once again I want to thank Johnathon for his professionalism and integrity. If you are in the market for KIA car, avoid this place particularly Efrain Fournier at any cost.

DON'T GIVE THEM YOUR CREDIT CARD. Went in for regular maintenance on my brakes. I explicitly told the secretary I know there's a blown out headlight but don't do any maintenance that is not covered under manufacturers warranty unless you ask me before. After waiting for 2 hours they told me the car is ready we're charging you for changing the headlight bulb. DON'T CHARGE ME FOR SERVICE i NEVER ASKED FOR.

I have provided all my information and they pushed me to give them money on the spot. How can i give money without knowing what i am getting. They were unable to give me any information. Kia company had almost ruin my career. I traded my Toyota Camry with their Kia Optima. They told me to respectively pay my monthly bill on time for Kia and they will take care the remaining balance with five monthly pay on my Toyota. They failed to do that plus they failed to send me a billing statement through mail for me to pay my part. Instead they called me almost two months and try to make me pay over the phone. They kept calling me and so as the Toyota finance. My coworkers reported me to my administrator that I'm more on the phone than taking care of numerous patients who were waiting to get their medicine. I'm very disappointed.

Go see Jasbina for any vehicle purchase! She’s straight forward and actually cares about your time as a customer. I went in with my cousin to purchase a used car and was able to walk away with the car the same day, it didnt even feel like we were there to buy a car, I’ve been to many other dealerships nearby on Northern Blvd and have never had such an AMAZING experience before. I wish I would of read the reviews first. Seems like multiple people have had this issue. I confirmed the specifics multiple times and specified under $400, as I didn't want to travel and waste their nor my time. They said I must come in and ask for the sales manager do not talk to the sales rep. I took the trip and was not able to speak with the manager after asking serval times, I had an appointment which no one knew about and was told the call center gave out bad info, best they could do is $529 for a 48 month lease instead of 36. Complete waste of time, bad communication, and unfair sales tactics. I guess that’s how they conduct business by luring you in.

Update: Just got my car and it is not what I thought I had purchased. Lots of miscommunication (or did I just get lied to?) and I’m not happy with the experience overall. Some of the staff at the Kia dealership were nice, hence the 2 stars. The end result really doesn’t deserve any stars.

Shady dealership, that will tell you whatever lies they can think of to get you in the door. Once there completely disorganized and the lies continued. No one I spoke to on the phone was available to meet or go over what we discussed. Wasted 2 hours of my time driving there and back. Their whole sales process is dopey and cumbersome, where you meet at one location and then are expected to get into a car with a sales rep so that they can take you to another lot to see the car. Once that is completed, the sales rep will drive you back to meet with the sales manager.

Just be on your P's and Q's in that finance room.

Zero.THIS DEALERSHIP IS RUN BUY A BUNCH OF LIAR'S AND THIEF'S (yes they stole my 3 hours of precious time that i could have spend with my pregnant wife and 2.5 years old baby princess in this summer ). I am in market for a 2020 Kia Telluride. I submitted an online enquiry about availability and these good for nothing ppl called me multiple times(see screenshot below) while i was at work and told me they have 7 of them avaliable and i specifically told him i am looking for a 2020 telluride S trim with 8 seat in dark moss color. He acted like reading in to their inventory and told me they have it and gave me an appointment for 7:45 pm (see email )to come right after my 12 hour work i drove 1.5 hours in heavy traffic to get there just to find out the adress he provided on the email is wrong(see email). Then i had to google my self to find their new location. Which is this and when i got there on the out side it said mitsubishi dealers and then i called the number again to make sure i am at the right place. They told me come inside they are located inside. I walked in and asked for the persons name in the email and the guy said i am his big brother what r u looking for. I told him i am looking for 2020 telluride then he said "YOU KNOW YOU NEED TO WAIT 3 MONTHS TO GET IT RIT ". If you reading this please dont never ever ever deal with these Liar's. As you can read in reviews they told the same lie to multiple people. And THEY WILL LIE TO YOU TOO AND STEAL FROM YOUR POCKET

When I started my lease two years ago, I wrote an amazing review because I was extremely satisfied. At this point I could not say the same and would probably never go back. I need them to complete paper work for me so that I can transfer my registration and plates to another state. So I called and first of all it sounds like everyone is having a party in the background while the person is trying to talk to you. Everyone is screaming and yelling. I was told he doesn’t know how to help me or doesn’t have the number for that department and then hung up. I should have put on hold and someone find the number to the department I need. So I called again another day, still sounded like a party was taking place, I could hardly hear him. I asked to speak to a supervisor and made it clear that I didn’t want a voicemail as I need this matter taken care of. I was sent right to a voicemail. After getting a hold of someone because I had to call back 4 times as I kept getting sent to new voicemails who were not even for what I needed because he couldn’t hear me because it was so loud in the background, I was told to email a person. I did and waited for a response for a week. Called again, and after having to be very stern about my frustrations with a supervisor he finally gave me the cell phone of who I needed to talk to. After speaking to that person, he said this was not his department even though a supervisor gave me his name. After a week and half I was given the right email of who to contact and now I’m still waiting for the right person to do what I need because I still need my plates changes and obviously this is time sensitive for insurance purposes. They may be wonderful when you get your car, but when you actually need their assistance after the fact, no one will help you. I’ve called and asked questions in the past about my lease and what’s covered for example do I have oil changes left, I was told “our system doesn’t say sorry.” They don’t know the answers to the most basic questions and will not even try to help in anyway. It’s get the sale and they’re done! When they answer the phone they say the customer always comes first, but the customer always comes last and them doing nothing to help you comes first even from a supervisor. Stay clear of this dealer, completely useless after the car is purchased.

The manager' kept on telling me oh we really apologize but I heard that's their way to sale. I got this coupon in the mail that I will get an oil change, tire rotation fluid check. I told them I was there for the oil change and it seemed not a problem however when I mentioned the tire rotation the guy told me that that’s going to cost me additionally $25 or so. When I told him it was included in the offer I got he apologized and said ok, it’s going to be done. After I paid and left, and driving a while, I checked the pressure in the tires and it was just like I knew before I dropped the car: a little more than the recommended tire pressure on a certain front wheel and less on another in the back. Therefore I concluded that they never rotate the tires, despite being advertised and requested by me. I am sorry I even stopped there, will and continue to go to my old shop, they always check tire pressure, fluids and always give me a free car wash for EVERY oil change, I always see my car and I actually know that the oil is also changed (right now I have real doubts they even changed it at KIA). I wish I knew beforehand the tire rotation is a fake advertising because I wouldn’t choose them. Now I have to waste more time to have my tire rotation done. I’m very disappointed of this experience, I wish I never was there.

I came to get serviced on sat 8/18/18 because my steering wheel was shaking... they fixed it and diagnosed my car for free. It was the steering cupplier Ana it was under warranty so they fixed it for free. They also gave me a copy of the diagnosis so I can come and get the work fixed another day. I was there 2 1/2 hours. Which wasn’t that bad. I will definitely be back.

This place is a joke. Advertised price was $9995. Went to the dealership and bam $15000 for the same car. They “tried” to lower the price next thing you know they tried to charge an inspection fee for $2000 meanwhile it only cost $37. They also tried to charge a prep Fee for $900. On top of that they tried to add the down payment to that total instead of subtracting. This is borderline fraud.

Definitely a must when buying a new car. Customer service was excellent. No pushy carsalesmen very laid back and honest establishment. They even worked with us in helping donate our old car. They truly made the car buying experience as painless as possible except for the wait to see financial but they did give us the option to leave and return in 2 hours unlike other dealerships that make you wait in the waiting area for your turn. Scott and Joel are very informed and actually know the details of the car. They also didn't mind answering my 5 million questions which is always a plus. I wish I could rate it a zero. I inquired about a specific model and trim. Spoke with 2 individuals over the phone. Discussed number ranges, even possibility of trade in. I specifically asked for transparency, and would be willing to make a deal immediately, as I don’t want to waste time. It was reiterated to me that we should meet and negotiate. I drove an hour same day, and it turns out not only they do NOT have the car we discussed, they didn’t have ANY of the desired model. I couldn’t buy a car if I wanted to. Further, was informed that the specific trim I wanted can’t even be bought until September 2019. Worst part is the individuals that spoke to me didn’t even come see me, they sent someone else to break this information. Latoya was very nice and seemed genuine in her apologies. However, I can’t in good conscience, recommend this dealer. Clearly the goal was to leverage my time in looking at an entirely different model. I can understand this tactic had I stated I was open minded, but I wasn’t. Bad business practice.

Man where do I start. First I call Northstar Kia and a call name Jesse pick up and gave me a too good to be true price on a lease. And I told him what's the catch he told me there was no catch.i told him " listen this better be true cause I'm 15 miles away and I don't want to get trick. He broke it down and didn't mention anything about any discount or bonus that I need to qualify for. So I get to the dealership and meet a guy name Carlos, he was totally rude. Very disrespectful told me the deal isn't real and he can get me into a Sorento for X much which I didn't like. When im walking away he start saying I don't know what I'm doing or talking about. Mind you Im in my second lease. VERY DISRESPECTFUL . AVOID THIS PLACE AT ALL COST.

This place, by FAR, was the easiest to deal with and very straight forward. I walked out of many dealerships when I felt anything was shady or there were games being played. I have little patience for it. I was ready to come in to battle it out with Northstar Kia as well but to my surprise, Jose was very accommodating and straight forward. They are all about transparency there. Not once did I feel uneasy. I was in and out the dealership in less than a hour with a deal I was extremely satisfied and happy with and peace of mind. Super super easy. They even went out their way to add a few more bells and whistles with no additional cost just because the ready date of the vehicle to be picked up was only a day behind from what they originally told me. Highly recommended to go there. Oh and just to add one more thing, dealing with John at the finance department was super easy as well. I was finished signing the papers within 15 minutes after he thoroughly explained each one and giving his personal opinions about them. Again I can’t stress enough on how great they were. Highly highly recommend. You’ll see for yourself when you get there.

HORRIBLE MANAGEMENT...There's a new manager named Darwin that I've been trying to reach for 4 weeks and I have not gotten one phone call back and I've made clear this is Urgent. I purchased a wheel and tire package from this location last year I've had to replace several tires... the tires they put on my car we're old and dry rotted, causing my car to almost spin out of control pulling out of a side street and almost got into an accident with my daughter in the car. When I called the service department to explain to them what happened they told me I have to go through the manufacturer to get those replaced. I think since they are the ones who put them on they should have to do all the calling to the manufacturer, no? They have their own warranty it's only been two months since I replaced those tires. Now when I called the manufacturer they said I need the physical Tires which are long gone. Northstar Kia has yet to make right of this situation. I had to pay almost $1,000 for two tires which they should have had warrantied to being with since it was only two months after they replaced those tires. the service people should have seen that right away before they put me and my daughter's life in jeopardy by being cheap and putting bad tires on my vehicle.

I had just about the same experience as user ‘A REX’. After calling multiple times to ensure it would be worth my time to drive over an hour with a baby and a toddler for a car, it turned out to be green instead of white and almost twice the price. They claimed that I was speaking to a call center in Dallas, where all calls get routed. I find them completely dishonest and super shady. They explained the price on their website could only be honored if I was willing to wait indefinitely for the car as they could only start placing orders in September. That’s fine only they could have told me over the phone and saved me over four and a half hours and the headache of NYC traffic.
