I have used this business since the early 1980's. At that time it was Ramsey SAAB, and I was a SAAB owner for many years. As SAAB went under, I switched to the other Swedish car, VOLVO and have been extremely pleased. Over all these years I have always used the service department of the business and have been extremely satisfied. The work is done in a timely manner, and it is done right the first time. I have never had to go back and have anything corrected. The service representatives are knowledgeable, helpful, and very courteous. The mechanics and service representatives deserves the highest rating possible.

Wonderful experience! From start to finish my service experience with Volvo Cars Ramsey was top notch. Professional staff answer calls and guide you through the process. Staff who greet you at entry are welcoming and efficient. I choose to wait for my first service and they expedite to minimize your wait time. Snacks and beverages are available and a comfortable couch - not hard seats in a cold room. Last was the surprise that they returned my car to me shiny and clean inside and out! I have had my car washed at service before - but this looked as it was detailed. Thanks Volvo Ramsey!

Previous attempts by two other shops couldn't get the alignment correct on my 1996 Volvo 850 t5. After finding out that the senior service manager(Doug) has a yard filled with old Volvo's, I knew he'd be the only one who can help me. There are some mechanics that work on cars to live, and some live to work on cars, well, Doug is that mechanic. You're in good hands with the staff in the service department from start to finish. My 23 year old Volvo drives like new again!!!

I always get an appointment for service at this dealership really fast. They are super efficient. The service staff answered all my questions, explained what was going to be done, how much it was going to cost and all work was done in a timely manner while I was comfortable working in their showroom, waiting area. Plus the dealership replaced my Volvo front emblem under warranty and my car was squeaky clean when I left the dealership. I won't go anywhere else!

horrible and dishonest customer service. i left my ezpass in the loaner car and they stole it. i called within a day and steve told me he would mail it. didnt mail it and told me he wasnt able to a week later when i followed up. he said it would be there for me and i had to pick it up. i went driving over an hour each way- wasnt there. called and liz answered- nope my ezpass wasnt there. completely rude, unhelpful people wont be coming back.

Excellent service and professionalism from start to finish. Beautiful and spacious dealership compared to some other Volvo dealerships in the area. Nicely greeted as soon as you step in. Started with Danny Falk, an internet sales specialist, who gave me a competitive price right from the get go through email correspondence. Danny personally introduced us to our salesman, John Montenegro, when we arrived at the dealership, and John was fully up to date with the vehicles and prices I discussed with Danny. Initially disappointed that we weren't test driving our actual vehicle, but that seems to be the case with most Volvo dealerships in our area. We were able to fully inspect the vehicle we wanted and test drove a very similar vehicle. When we were ready to make a deal John helped expedite the whole process till the end, especially in light of me changing my mind last minute to pick up the car in a few hours instead of the next day. Michael, the finance manager, was also very helpful in explaining the details of the auto loan as well as warranty options available. Mike, the technology specialist, was very thorough in explaining the tech aspects of the car - features I probably would never realized the car was equipped with if not for him even after reading both the quick guide and supplemental that comes with the vehicle. Overall, very pleased with everyone at this dealership and would highly recommend to anyone.

Purchasing a new vehicle can become a nerve raking experience for everyone. You often are face with car salesmen that are often less than honorable. My experience this time around was actually very pleasant. The sales person at Ramsey was a role model for professionalism and furthermore he is what every organization would want form an employee. Gary Parker who was my sales representative truly exemplified the meaning of customer service. It is without hesitation that will return to conduct future business with Ramsey Volvo.

The service here is fair and honest. I had them replace rear bushings on our XC 70 and the final bill came in a little less than they quoted me in labor. The only issue, and it's an issue at all dealerships, is that they assume you don't know what is wrong with your car. You can tell them but they are still going to charge you to make sure you're right.

Please do not lease a car from Ramsey Volvo. If you negotiate the car's price, which you should even when leasing, they will change that agreed upon price even after you shake hands on it. They use two different computer lease programs in order to deceive you - one during the sales process and one when you pick up the car - the numbers get changed in between - I realized it too late. I communicated with four different people there and they were all in on the scheme. I think it's a built in sale strategy for them. Spare yourself the feeling of being used and the loss of your new car experience - please shop elsewhere. Response to the dealer's response: Jeff, why don't you just post the output from the two computer programs you use - you have the original negotiated deal saved on your computer and you have my lease contract. I fully authorize you to do so. And everyone will then see that my first lease payment was always intended to come from my down payment - but you tried to trick me out of that as well when I picked up the car. And the lease shows I, not Ramsey. paid for the plates. So the nonsense continues. Everyone will also see how what I posted above is absolutely true. Your brother originally offered me a sales price 10k below MSRP and you agreed to it and we shook on it. You can't explain away the math. Just post the output from the two programs that Ramsey deploys to effect their scheme and let readers judge for themselves. But make sure that the "sales program" shows $ 50,940 as the selling price. No edits.

UPDATE: Volvo Ramsey said that they would pay for half of the deductible ONLY if I would take my reviews down - I feel it's only fair to note this. I refused out of principle. We had to put a claim through insurance and we took it to another dealer who was incredibly helpful. They also corrected the software update that Ramsey supposedly performed while our car was there. I’ll do my best to articulate this in the clearest way possible. I came in on Sat 11/17 for a 10k mile routine service + recall item relating to the airbag curtains in the ceiling. I drove 45 min from Jersey City, arrived at about 8:45 am and around 11:30 am (approx) was told that my car was ready. I didn’t even have to get into my car (XC 90 R-Design) to notice that there was an approximately 20 in crack in my windshield. I immediately went inside to tell my service advisor, Stephen. He came outside, insisted crack had to have been there when I arrived, and was insinuating that I was trying to pull a fast one on them. He then brought out a handwritten form, with a circle around the windshield, telling me that upon intake, they noted that the windshield was cracked. Keep in mind that this form had no time stamp and could easily have been manipulated. He told me he would call me back after speaking to his manager. I politely asked that he call my husband and explain, who was on a business trip in CA at the time. My husband never got a called, and ultimately got Stephen on the phone after several attempts. My husband went on to ask that, why, if there were a big crack noticed upon intake, would they not come out and speak to me about fixing it. Glass is not covered under warranty, and they would stand to make a good buck on the repair job. Stephen agreed, said that he came to conclusion that crack must have happened while the vehicle was in their possession, and that they would make it right. He told my husband to stay tuned for a call from his manager (Jose) on Monday (today, 11/19). Jose told my husband that after reviewing the camera footage, they did not see a crack across the windshield when I arrived in the vehicle, but there must have been a small crack that got worse in their possession, because there are never any sharp objects near the cars (it was in a repair shop littered with tools etc). He said that the crack likely spread across the windshield when they were washing the car at the end, due to cold water temps. Interesting, because on Saturday, Stephen said that 1.) he would make it right and that they were to blame and 2.) the large crack was noted by the techs when I first arrived. In short, Volvo Ramsey is refusing to fix. We are absolutely disgusted by this. This car is a luxury vehicle (msrp of ~$62k) and we were given total garbage service, not what I would expect from a luxury car dealership. We have several friends who have admired our car and have considered buying. We have already told them to avoid this dealership, we will post reviews everywhere to warn others, we are opening an investigation with our insurance company for fraud, and Volvo corporate will be contacted to talk about the specific individuals involved. The way we have been treated is an absolute disgrace and we will never step foot in this dealership again. This is our first Volvo - we traded in our BMW X3 upon purchasing the XC 90. We would never receive this treatment from BMW. They have made errors in the past, and ALWAYS made it right. You just lost a customer, hopefully several, and you live up to every stereotype that people think of when they think car dealerships. You lied, passed the blame, and did nothing to make good on the situation. To whomever is at the top, you need to look real hard at the employees representing you.

I inquired about the price of a cpo s90 I saw online and made an offer below their asking price. My offer was based on the fact that the car was not selling as its been in the lots over 100 days. I was told the price was not negotiable by Bailey Kasbarian. A few days later they increased the price on the car by nearly 3k. I feel really bad for the person who buys at that price as they were asking for a lot less earlier. If you look at the market the new list price is way over their competitors. Now buying a new xc60 somewhere else instead.

My family's been buying Volvo's for many years, and I own a 2004 XC90 that I love, but service is now a factor as it's getting older. Unfortunately the service department at Ramsey Volvo does not now how to handle service professionally, there is a severe disconnect between the shop technical supervisor and customer service, as well as poor knowledge and communication to the customer of the technical aspects of the repair. The basis of their service is to make as much money as possible, and to use psychology warfare if you question the basis of the recommendations. I was really looking forward to buying the 2014 XC90, but it looks like I'm going elsewhere and walking away from Volvo. It's sad that such a great product and brand has such poor representation.

Do not waste your time with Ramsey Volvo. I spoke to Rich Sass on the phone and was told that a car I wanted is on the way and I could put a deposit on it. When I arrived, I was told that only a more expensive version of the car is available. Then, the promised price on their advertisement went up by $100 / month. Classic bait in switch. They also tried to include etching fees and pass on additional expenses into the lease. Overall a very disappointing experience. I walked out.

I'm infruriated. On Thursday, November 19th, 2015 I called to inquire about a 2016 XC90 I found online. I talked to Dan and told him I'm very interested and that I would visit over the weekend. I also knew the car was rare after searching through numerous dealerships across the tristate so I asked if Dan could hold the car for me. He told me he will give me a call if another customer makes an offer. On Saturday, November 21st, 2015, as I traveled from Maryland to NY for Thanksgiving, I called Dan to let him know I'm on the way and he thanks me for the heads up. After surviving hours of terrible traffic, I walked in only for Dan to tell me the car was already sold and when asked why he didn't call me earlier his excuse was that Timothy sold it, which is a very strange excuse. He then tried to sell me other cars that he knew I was not interested. As I walked out a minute later he didn't even try to stop me from walking out. I saw from a corner of my eye he just got up to go home an hour before the dealer officially closed. It is clear that Dan didn't care I was a customer. He didn't care I was coming in from out of state to make a deal, he had no respect of my time, and he had no decency to call me when the car was sold. I'm sure that Ramsey Volvo is a reputable business considering it is still in business but Dan's behavior was unprofessional and rude. I know he is a new employee but that is not an excuse to wait for a customer who knows that he wants to make a deal to come in and tell him that the car was already sold. If he picks up the phone make sure you ask for someone else before he gives away that car you were looking for.

Just purchased a used SUV from this Volvo dealership. The salesteam was decent. They were friendly, and basically satisfied all of my inquiries. Slightly on the pushy side; they kinda make you feel that you're wasting their time if you dont buy a vehicle that second.. But overall, they were good, the buying experience was pretty pleasant. They were willing to work with me a LITTLE on the price, but the sticker price was already pretty good, so I left happy. I wasn't thrilled with the 'dealer fees' tacked onto the purchase price after the fact. Car was clean, reasonably priced, and they washed it and filled the gas tank before I drove off in it. Can't really ask for much more.

If you are expecting good customer service when shopping for a car at Ramsey Volvo you will be disappointed. I spoke to sales person Timothy Bourne and was very serious about buying a Volvo and wanted to buy at this dealer. My concern was getting the car with the options I wanted and asked Timothy about either transferring a car from one dealer to the other, and also Volvo's Overseas Delivery Option. I was told he was incapable of transferring cars between dealers and was told next to nothing about Overseas Delivery. I know for a fact that you can transfer cars between dealers. I tried to schedule a test drive but was told to look elsewhere. I mean geeze, you are trying to spend 45k and they are entirely unhelpful. So unless you are willing to just buy a car off the lot without any helpful interaction with the sales staff, I would look to buy a Volvo at another dealer. I called a different dealer a day later and the receptionist knew all about the Overseas Delivery Option and explained the whole process to me, as did the sales person I spoke to. A whole different experience when the sales staff actually tries to be helpful. I bought my Volvo 3 days later. If the manager of Ramsey Volvo is reading this, you just lost money.

I travel to NJ for work often. On a trip the WK of Jan 21, 2019 hit a pothole at night and popped a tire. Fortunately Ramsey Volvo is only a few miles from work and where the incident occurred. Ramsey Volvo, specifically Steve in Service were exceptional. The level of service was superior from Steve and team. Be assured I will not use any other dealership when needs develop in NJ. The best car buying/leasing experience ever. Tim and his team were very professional, knowledgable about the XC90, and made the process so easy. From negotiation - to car pick up - to financing it was just a very pleasurable experience! They let me test out all of my car seats before test driving, and even let me test drive it over to my home where my wife was with our 19 month old who was napping (we live close by). I would definitely recommend Volvo Ramsey and would encourage any one in the market for a family car to check out the XC90 and make sure to ask for Tim!

I've had excellent service by thoughtful people, but frankly I am writing because the rating system allowed someone claiming to be a secret examiner hired by Volvo to post obvious spam. Any such person would be fired for releasing his results outside of his authorized reporting management (not to mention his recommending another dealer). It is worse for the fact that he is posting anonymously and in light of the new rules for Google posting, his rating should be removed. That's up to Google, of course, but my recommendation is that his rating should be ignored.

We had a reasonably good experience at this dealership. Traded in our 2011 X5 for $15,575. The opening offer on the trade in was $13,000 which (the salesman knew) was absurd, and our ask was $16,000. Held firm on the $15,575 and they accepted. We felt this was fair (make sure you know the whole sale auction value of the car before you step foot in the dealership, and get at least 3 competing quotes from other dealers and CARMAX). They are now selling the car for asking price of $18,500, so we think the price we got was generous to the dealer (who does take the risk of on-going depreciation, any maintenance work that creeps up, and cost of capital tied up in the depreciating asset). The dealership will generally give you a deal on the new car and try to steal the used car from you. Be informed and let them know you are shopping around the trade as well as the car purchase. They do charge EXTRA $300 for documents fee and $500 for detailing/oil change - insist that they actually perform the detail and oil change - they tried to tell me that the oil change they did 6 months ago was the same as doing it now.

Hi, I’ve been coming to Ramsey Volvo since 2015 when I purchased my XC90 . The staff is very professional. When you walk through the door you are greeted , offered beverages and snacks . The guys in service are awesome , efficient , and very patient with me no matter what my car issue is . I’m made to feel comfortable with each and every one of my concerns. *********Buyer Beware ********** I bought my Car Feb 6 2018 and today is April 9 2018 I’m still waiting on my plates. I have tried to reach out to my sales person, finance manager and the General manager still NO help. My temporary plate on my vehicle has been expired since February 24 and the dealership won’t give me new plates. Problem was presumed false alarm indicating "charging system failure." After replacing alternator, belt and battery, the same indication comes and goes - even though a digital voltmeter always indicates charging when the engine is running. Hence, after paying over $200 for diagnosis, and after replacing alternator, battery and drive belt ($1500.) no solution was found. (Therefore I always leave the voltmeter plugged into the lighter outlet.)

I visited Ramsey Volvo last week in search of a new car, I was immediately greeted as soon as I entered the dealership. I've just leased the 2019 XC90 Inspcription, a 72k viechle,. It has major issues with the driver seat, took me a few days to realize that, I've developed major back pain, and suffering. You can read about it all over. For this money get an Audi instead. This dealership is unwilling to accommodate, and I'm stuck with a lemon. Volvo botched up this car. I'm getting an attorney to sue them to take back my car, to release me from this lease. or I'll take them for what they've got. If this dealership is closed next year, you will know why.

Beautiful dealership friendly folks that are not overbearing. What matters is the deal you get and we were able to get a good deal. Make sure to go for test drives outside of rush hour, because rt17 can get very busy even this far north. Their exit and entrance is right on an entrance ramp which sucks when you have been driving the car for 30 seconds.

I was told it would only take another 20 minutes, But ended up waiting over an hour. This was after they took it in for service at 9:00 in the morning. Dropped off the car they gave me a loaner car (Than you) so i could go work, I was told car will be done at around 12/12:30 & they would call me, At 1:00 i called the dealer up he said another 20 minutes is needed. But you could start heading in our way (drive from work to dealer is around 14 min), I said I'll be there at 1:40, giving him another 20 minutes, I arrived & guess another 20 minutes is needed & it ended up being over an hour.

I have TWO experiences to share... 1st I used to take my 2006 SAAB 9-3 to these guys and they were great (their service hours SUCK if you're a 9-5 worker). My SAAB ended up having a major electrical problem, they gave me options, fix it like this or like THAT etc... I never felt pressure by the service people. I felt informed and like I was able to make an informed decision. I traded that SAAB to another VOLVO dealer for a 2004 XC90... WHICH IS AN AMAZING CAR!!! Years later I was ready to trade in the XC90 for a 2016 XC90... I called Ramsey and gave them the numbers that another dealer (Prestige) gave me, they told me that they could EASILY beat it. I went in, they gave me a great deal... I know because I called two other dealers, gave them Ramsey's numbers and BOTH dealers told me that they CAN NOT beat that price! So, I purchased it. The only negative was, that I had to wait for like 30min for someone to help me... I was READY to buy and I couldn't get a test drive, a salesman or even a hello... This is rather offensive to me. (I wont play the race card here although I'm feeling my pocket to make sure that it's in my possession). It WAS winter so I had on a puffy jacket and a beanie so I'll admit that I didn't look like the most studious customer however, you shouldn't judge a book by it's cover... Their credit guy even told me that I had the highest credit score that he had seen in a few months (820's).

very bad experience. I went for 75000 mile severe about 2 months service. Car had issue. After service car was making noice. I visited service department 3 times . I paid again something which I believe volvo service guy messed up. Basically I was ripped off. I was also treated with disrespect by one of the service lady. She was extremely rude. I will not recommend any one to this service station.

John my salesman, Jeff the Manager, Asher the business manager, Mike the technical adviser and Steve in service are top notch. Not only are they professional, courteous and knowledgeable. They were a pleasure to work with and I will continue to be their customer from here on in. I was treated with respect and consideration. The service at Ramsey Volvo is impeccable. My car is going on seven years old. One of the reasons why I am still having it serviced at a dealership (which can be pricey) is because of the camaraderie, fellowship and trust I see and feel when I am at Ramsey Volvo. The receptionists are always helpful, pleasant and efficient. The sales people are not pushy in any way and the service dept. has always been accommodating (Thank You, Steve C.). Why would I want to go anywhere else? In my travels, I have had the fortune of visiting and receiving service from other Volvo dealerships. Ramsey Volvo surpasses them all. You all have the appearance of one big happy family. Please, do not change a thing. It works!

Well, I wanted to see what my options were on the new car, and get out of my current lease at the time. Initially, I was not ready to buy that day. I honestly has never dealt with such a bad service dealership in my life before. My husband got his car from here and since day one is being a horrible place to deal with. The sales rep that conducted the deal with him was full of racist comments that he started making once he got all the signatures he needed to close his sale. Beyond that the service department is just horrendous. My husband' car literally stopped working in the middle of the highway and it took them 2 weeks to 'figure out the problem'. When my husband asked for a loner car as they couldn't figured out the problem with his, the sales reps and service team told him ' we don't have one, is pretty much your problem. Go and rent one' It took 2 days for them to even try and accept the fact the car issues was going to be 'complicated to fix' and that he needed a loner car. Beyond that, if we didn't call to check the status of the repairs, we would have NEVER found out any information. Today, after we called them. they told my husband the car was ready to pick up but that WE OWN THEM MONEY because in order to 'fix the car they drained the gas tank so we needed to pay them back'...Are yous serious???? The problem was caused by YOUR CAR SYSTEM AND SENSORS. You drained in order to FIX IT!!!!!! Are they serious???!!!! This dealer and service department are FAR FROM being considered a 'LUXURY SERVICE PROVIDER'. They need to train their personal, teach them manners. The lack of service is visible. In all the years I have dealt with Customer Service I never encounter such a plain horrible place. Truly disappointing. We are definitely looking for another dealership to take the car in the future. If anyone is even considering VOLVO Ramsey, honestly, think twice...

This review starts out at Ray Catena in Edison on a beautiful Saturday afternoon.After spending three hours at the Jaguar dealership we were told to come back another day since they were super busy.I was called back on Monday to see if all our needs had been met and I was promised a call back and I am still waiting for that follow up call.Ray Catena should watch his TV commercials to see how customers should be treated and then fire everyone at that location that we dealt with.I will never step foot in a Ray Catena dealership again ...unless we are in the middle of a zombie apocalypse and I need a quick getaway car! Ok great but what does that have to do with Volvo of Ramsey you may ask??? Volvo was next on our list and we were treated properly from the moment we stepped through the front door.Tim Bourne was our sales person and he was amazing.He and his team made the entire process very enjoyable... as much as buying a car could be. They have set the bar to what other dealerships should aspire to and I tip my hat to the owner for creating a positive experience.

I recently had a trailer hitch installed to my xc70. It was my first time at Ramsey Volvo and I will not be returning. To instal the hitch they must remove the bumper and it was not put back on properly, 2 bolts were missing from the bottom of the car. When I brought the car back I was told that one was never there and one was cracked so he would only replace one. So here I am after paying over 1000 for a job to get done, trying to put my car back together properly. I should have gone to Pauls Volvo dealership in Hawthorn
