The only downside was that I couldn't test drive the vehicle I was driving. They do gaurantee though that it will pass inspection, in the end it worked out. I come across the Mini Cooper Roadster on Cargurus in September and in October I decided to contact New Jersey Auto Auction about the car. I got a quick reply back and all the details I needed from Crystal. I live in North Carolina and had never purchased a vehicle out of state so I had a lot of questions which were answered thoroughly easing my mind about the deal. All the paperwork was emailed to me which was e-signed while a few things that required actual hand signature needed to be faxed back. They arranged for my car to be shipped to me, fed ex my title and temporary registration and I was on the road in my pre-owned (1 owner) Cooper Roadster. Crystal went above and beyond during my purchase, she was friendly, professional, and wanted to see to it a had a great buying experience. Don’t buy your car here. Go to a professional dealer. They took advantage of me because I was a first time buyer. They sold me a Chevy equinox that had a broken air conditioner plus the car was full of rust. These people are scammers. The check Engine light turn on 3 months after purchase. $15,000 dollars for a 2011 Chevy equinox with a lot miles and rust worth in reality $3,000 dollars. Here the kicker I was paying $350.00 a month. I hope that this place gets closed down. Before everything started I told them that I have a special need child and how important it was to have a reliable vehicle. They Don’t Care About Your Situation. They Just Want Your Money.

I came here to get all brakes and rotors done. I was given a price and told it was for all 4. I sat there for over 1.5 hours waiting. The supplier brought one wrong rotor and had to go back and exchange it. 2 weeks later i had my car inspected and the inspector told me no one had touched my front brakes or rotors. When I went back to the shop, who never gave me a receipt, shame on me, i was told the price i was given was obly for the 2 rear. Never again. Make sure you get a receipt everytime and watch the work theyre doing. Scam artists.

Elvis is a absolute bum. Although he was right about the car price. Being at a fair rate, Not good but fair, when I said I wanted to negotiate he could not atop telling me that I don’t know what I’m talking about and that I don’t have enough money for this car in an extremely rude and unpleasant way. I then told him well I would like to see some suvs that I could get for 14 15 grand and I’d pay cash. He completely ignored me and walked me inside trying to see if I could get approved while I kept telling him that I was not looking to do that I wanna see another suv. He continued to be rude and then kept making comments about how I can just drive my small little Honda accord for now and That was the end of that. All I have to say is cars nice your not geting a great deal here but their are fair, service is rude. If you go to this place make sure you don’t give Elvis that no neck skinny leg boy your business cause he just gonna insult you. Your tough guy salesman attitude doesn’t work well considering you walk like you spent the night at a bath house and u can’t seem to stop sweating. Hit a treadmill boy.

I bought my very first car in this location and honestly couldn't have been happier. I have been through the process of buying a car in other commission based dealers before when helping my mom buy her previous cars and I had always felt like the process was stuffy, impersonal and all about the money. My mom herself has never gone back to the same dealer twice because she's never felt taken cared of . NJ State Auto changed that narrative for me. Jimmy, my sales rep was not only very knowledgeable and professional, but he was also human and definitely put my needs first when looking for the perfect fit for me. He really made me feel at ease throughout the whole process. Buying a car can be a very stressful procedure and time consuming, but here the process was easy, and more than satisfying. The whole team really tries to do their best so that you leave with a car you love and more importantly can afford in the long run. I will never go to any other dealer or work with anyone else but Jimmy ever again.

Beware, this place is a scam! NJ State Auto has perfected the bait tactic where they put so much pressure/distraction right from the beginning. You need to “register” and surrender your ID as you walk in. Then, they need you to pay a certain fee to see the car. And once you are interested, there was no room for negotiation because they pressure you to sign this and that. They also knew we needed a car as my husband’s broke down. That was our wrong move. Once we got to the finance department, they forced the warranty showing you a price which already includes the warranty (his words were confusing to mask the fact that the warranty is OPTIONAL). By this time, we felt so invested in the whole process that we might just as well just do it. We were buying a used car anyway so maybe we needed the warranty. (FYI, that warranty was useless. We brought the car back 3 months later and got nothing except more harassing for more money for the car). They took advantage of us as young buyers with the fact that we needed a car and we had exhausted toddlers for over 5 hours in this place. We went in for a car worth $13,934 posted and came out of the dealer with $22,000 (dealer fees, doc fees, forced warranty, sales tax; $25,000 if you include finance charges). Almost TWICE THE PRICE they got us in for. Also, they do not accept personal checks for the down payment and would charge an additional 9% if a credit card is used. We should have backed out right when we walked in the place that morning. NJ State Auto was not thorough with details; they hope to confuse you with all the cost and fees to get your money in the end. They make you feel so invested in the purchase with their “steps” that there was no way backing out. Our experience with Honda the year prior when we purchased a certified pre-owned was very transparent. We walked in NJ Auto State assuming we would get the same experience here instead we left feeling totally scammed. We had huge buyers remorse the day after our purchase with NJ State Auto. And now we are paying for that very EXPENSIVE mistake. Check the real reviews on YELP - poor reviews that do not lie. (Notice how those reviews are more thorough with real experiences). Their own employees must have written FAKE stellar reviews here - plugging their own names for you to seek them out. Unbelievable!

PLEASE READ BEFORE BUYING A CAR HERE!!!!! I went with my brother to buy his 2012 BMW 5 series from here, big mistake. Everyone at the dealership where rude and arrogant. Not even a week in the BMW wouldn't start. When we went back to the dealer turns out the car needed a new crankshaft. They refused to give a rental while they worked on the car, after waiting a week without a car we finally got the car back. Right after getting the car back it started making noises, I took the car back to the dealer a second time and this time it was the racker pinion. The dealer told me that "We were lucky they did the first repair for free and all other repairs we had to pay out of pocket". My brother tried to return the car, but the dealer won't take it. Now my brothers stuck with a lemon. Never again we would step foot in this dealership.

I apologize for my previous review of this business. I had given New Jersey State Auto Auction a 5 star rating and and nice review. However, this was done in the dealership and out of excitement for my new vehicle. The truth really is that their management is poor at best along with their book keeping. Because they had forgotten to do paperwork on their side, I almost had my lean holder repossess the truck, which would have probably ended up on their lot...again. Not to mention the mark up of the vehicle was much lower than all of the other dealerships which is the reason you get drawn in in the first place just to be hit with all types of service and handling fees that essentially makes the vehicle cost as much as it does anywhere else. The salesmen, at least the individual that I dealt with, was rude and not understanding of any kind of situation. He had the “take it or leave it” mentality which is never a good attitude to give potential customers. Unfortunately I was in no position to go anywhere’s else and take longer looking for a newer vehicle so I had to settle with New Jersey State Auto Auction. My advise to you is to stay far far away from these people and their corrupt company. I cannot wait to find the time to scrape their decal off of my truck and never be reminded that I dealt with them. My only regret, second to going to this dealership in the first place, is that you’re unable to give negative stars out of 5. One of the worst and frustrating experiences of my life. Do yourselves all a favor and just keep looking.

I understand the frustration of sales people when customers come in and just waste time, however, not all customers do have the time to waste. Here is what happened: I walked in, already selected the car I was interested online so I knew what I was getting, asked the salesman can I check a very specific functionality, he said its there. I asked can I check the engine sound by starting the vehicle, he said its a 30 day guarantee we will do it after the credit application. I obliged, we go in, the price of the car online is 168xxK, I asked is there a room for negotiation (I have mentioned that I will put a $5000 down in cash that signifies that I am interested in getting this car), he said yes, we will work it out, I fill in the application (including SSN) so that he can come up with numbers, he comes back and tells me the cost of the car will be around 19K including all the hidden fees (apart from taxes and regidtration and stuff, which is simpy in my opinion, fraud) to which we said no, asks us for a counter offer, we present (15k in cash, which was quite low I accept but only so because we were upset with what had happened with the hidden fees and we wanted to see if they were willing to negotiate, remember he said room for negotiation, that's why we presented our offer, had it been that their price was the final price, I simply wouldn't have gone through with the application), to which he goes completely rude and starts taunting indirectly. Since we drove from Brooklyn, here was his last sentence: drive safe, the tolls are very expensive. Cost of the car I ended up getting from another dealer on the same day: 21K for the same model but different mileage and specs. Final thoughts: Pretty much all of the conversation was extremely straight forward, one line sentences from his side. I do know the name of the person but I won't disclose it as he might just be going through a rough day or maybe there were were customers who waisted his time before or maybe he was biased the entire time, but the rule is simple, treat with respect and you will get the same in return. Period.

I went there with a huge expectation especially with such a high rating. I went there to sell my car. The Manager was very rude. Those guys gave me a lower price than what CarMax did. And I was fine with that. But his tone was very condescending. The Appraisal Manager was good and a decent person. But the sales manager and maybe his assistant. Not at all. There are a lot of ways to negotiate but irking your customers is definitely not one. UPDATE: Got a call from the General Manager, as he was concerned about this sort of behavior. He said he will take actions.

Upon arrival, approximately 40 minutes prior to closing, Steve cordially received us at the entrance and escorted us to the vehicle within minutes. He was very knowledgeable, addressed all of our questions, and we weren't pressured or rushed despite the late hour. His pleasant demeanor, patience, and attentiveness were welcome changes from our experiences elsewhere. We were pleased enough to move forward and worked with Jose on pricing. This is typically an arduous stage in the process, but he was straightforward and handled it with integrity. Alex introduced himself next and we were financed and completing the transaction in less time than I anticipated. He provided a thorough breakdown of costs and even mitigated a technical issue with the insurance provider while completing the financing. We were off with our new vehicle that night! They are really nice here and very friendly. Our advisor Miguel went out of his way on his day off to come in to make sure our templates got printed and we were all set to pick up our car. He even waited for us and made sure to answer any questions we had. We experienced great customer service. The only down side was the large amount fees and being told that we could negotiate the price later with finance but when we got to finance were told they don't negotiate price. Paid more than expected but still love the car and had a good buying experience.

It’s a business so yes they try to get your money. But they back it up with the service. Good luck getting that same service at a different used car dealer. Like every car dealer there are always hidden fees. But when you email, you get a response, when you call you get an answer. I thought it was a comfortable environment. And yes, I will get another car there and hope the service is the same. This is a year later ....

Went in on July 1 to try out the Mazda 6 they had and loved it . The price they had on the internet was way off from the actual total they gave you with everything included . I was trying to spend less than 15k cause I wanted to buy cash up front but instead settled with financing . EVEN THOUGH I don’t have credit history cause I just started on my credit they still were able to approve me which helped a lot . So far it’s been a week with my new car and no complaints. Steve helped a lot with questions I had about the car so shoutout to him ! I did buy out of state ( I’m from New York ) , so they were able to do the plates for me but they did say it will take around 3 weeks for them to get them in , I’ll check back in with them later so I can pick them up in person instead . Good place to find a reliable car , and they have different selections of cars as well .

Relevant, detailed, inclusive staff. Lack of capability to drive vehicles in a highway setting made the choice more difficult, but pricing was fair and honest. Seeing the operation from start to finish was incredibly helpful, and Christopher A. did an excellent job of explaining my options, even looking up my trip home (winter weather watch) to ensure safety. Sam also tried his best to ensure me the 2.5 hour drive would be worth it, sending my home with a reassuring warranty. Will update in a couple months on car quality.

One of my biggest regrets in life is coming to this place.The car that I bought here which was a honda civic 2014 has been a curse and Ill explain why... A few months after i got the car the motor blew off without any explanation. I took it back to this dealer because I did paid for warranty and did NOTHING to fix it. They started saying that I drove the car for 3 miles without oil change trying to blame it on me and avoid the responsibility. A year later the car again had another issue inside the motor. If I can give this dealership zero stars I would. After 1 whole month of buying a 2006 acura TL the transmission needs to be rebuilt. While buying this car all the sales people gave this car all types of praises. Guaranteed that i wouldnt have any issues at all with this car. The salesman SAM is a complete jerk and a liar, he'll tell you anything to get your money. Sam Told me he would sell me the car flat out for 3000 dollars so I would only have to worry about my insurance and no payments. then as I was making the payment, retracted his first offer to tell me I was making a down payment. Basically swindled me into buying the car taking advantage of my situation and need for a car. Make a long story short. Transmission guys want 1800 dollar to do the work to the lemon they sold me. And they wont budge to help at all. If u want to buy a car or lease or whatever try your luck somewhere else they lie and cheat here.

NJ State Auto charged me a higher price after the ‘fees’ they were supposed to have told me about but didn’t. Almost $2000 in fees because they are an auction. Make sure you get all of the numbers up front because this was never told to me. In fact the listing price on all their vehicles does not include these fees.

I enjoyed looking at a car here. The sales man was low pressure. He left me alone with the car while I inspected it. They had an area in the back to test drive the car and I appreciated being left alone to drive and see how I liked the car. I found a lower price on truecars.com for the car then what the dealer offered. It was about $1k less in fees and they honored that price. They were even honest with me and let me know that they couldn't beat the financing deal I got with me bank. It was a good experience.
