I am not one to write reviews and I try to avoid badmouthing an establishment even if they do not deliver on their promises. Kundert Volvo in Hasbrouck Heights has been so horrible that I feel it is a public service to write this review. I purchased my car from them and did not haggle with them on the price naively thinking that I would be well treated when I returned for service. I was so wrong. The service experience was a nightmare every single time. They left the amber leather interior filthy and put dark grease on the door panels that could never be removed. They attempted to sell me new brakes at only 10K miles and promised loaner vehicles that never showed up leaving me stranded at the dealer without a car. They performed unauthorized work and attempted to bill me for it. Finally they have refused to service the vehicle because they decided that I owe them money for their unauthorized repairs. My car is now serviced at Ramsey Volvo. I want to reiterate. I do not have time to just write a review. This is a warning and advice to other car shoppers. Do NOT make the mistake I did. I also want to mention that I went out of my way to clearly notify the salesperson who sold me the car and the dealership owner before complaining online in a public forum. They made NO attempt to resolve the issues. Ignore the good reviews, if something goes wrong with your Volvo you will have no one at this dealership to help you. STAY AWAY FROM KUNDERT and maybe from VOLVO period. Prestige BMW did a far better job with my BMW service. I cannot wait for my lease to be up.

I was going on a road trip to Nova Scotia and had my S60 serviced (regular maintenance) before the trip. I just came from a road trip with my son in Orlando and it was very, very Hot and humid there. So, I told Pete, My service advisor, to check the Coolant and Transmission fluid. Although they said that both were still acceptable, I told them to change it anyway mainly because I was going on another road trip. Had a blast in Canada and the car run smooth and like new.

Having owned Volvos before I looked at was available to replace my wife's leased car. The used XC90 looked appealing because it was purchased and maintained at Kundert. We met Tony Calderon who turned out to be one of the most professional salespersons I have dealt with. Outstanding experience at this place while traveling from Canada. The staff is very friendly and polite. We had a low oil alert in our XC60. The first dealer we stopped at said it cannot look at the car earlier than a week. These guys were a bit farther away however they accepted our car as walk-in after a very short wait, did the oil change and charged very reasonable. Best experience ever at any dealer. If you wonder, I am not related and never met anyone there before this incident. Thank you again Kundert Volvo.

I didn’t buy a Volvo although they’re making really sporty cars these days and I came very close to abandoning my initial idea of buying their pre-owned Lexus ES 350. I was about to buy the very same car with 500 miles less from another dealership for 700.00 more when Yasmeen texted me out of the blue to make sure I was getting the car I wanted. I appreciated that follow up and that’s when I realized that the other car was 160 miles away and so that negated the mileage. Kundert’s car was now the better option. Yasmeen and Bernie simply let me choose. No pressure. All I got was them both telling me to just be happy with whatever you opt for. My credit is the equivalent of a train wreck. They found a bank to finance me at 20%. I said ok. When I got there the finance guy-who I believe sincerely wants to help idiots in my financial dilemma-showed me how to take the warranty and he’d get me 14.7%. My monthly payments went from 350.00 to 318.00- AND A 100,000 mile bumper-to-bumper warranty-because he went out of his way to help me. I met the owner’s daughter who had no reason to introduce herself and she brainstormed with the finance guy to see if maybe another loophole was available. It wasn’t but her concern meant a lot. Kundert Volvo is now my go-to dealership. I’m beyond a satisfied customer. I’m now singing their praises here, to family, to co-workers and to friends. They earned this and I honestly feel I owe them that. So, thank you, Kundert Volvo!!! See you in about 50,000 miles!!! ❤️

I had a great experience at kundert Volvo with all involved, when I was in the market for a new crossover wagon. From Nicquelle Denney, the Internet Sales Manager who answered every question I threw at her and made me feel like she was there to help me make a decision, rather than pushing an appointment to the dealership; to Jarilton Cruz, who ensured my new Volvo's delivery was as smooth as it could be, teaching me all of the features and providing info on the Volvo accessories I wanted; to Finance Director Erin Kundert, who made me feel at easy in her office, went over all of the necessary documentation, and welcomed me to the Volvo family (literally, her family owns the Kundert Volvo dealership). As always, my 52,000 mile service and repairs was excellent and completed as scheduled. They provided me a loaner car and even took the time to phone me after their analysis of the repairs I requested. Way back in 2010 I had my 2010 XC60 serviced for a very unusual repairs such as mice nesting in the engine and eating the wiring. They replaced the the entire wiring system and my XC60 ran perfect thereafter. Everyone at the dealership is exceptionally courteous and caring. Well , the service department has been wonderful beyond our wildest dreams. Having Chip as a service advisor is a dream. He promptly updated me as to the problems that he found and time and cost of the work that my car needed. He was respectful and accommodating and made recommendations in my best interests. Chip is a consummate professional who takes pride in his job and easily deserves the highest of praise. It would be hard not to be a loyal fan. Not only is Chip unusual for his earnestness and excellence, so too this service center for its zealous commitment to the customer and acting in good faith. Brian, the EXTRAordinary service manager, takes a long view in terms of business practices, and acts to cultivate a relationship with the customer, rather than make a killing in every transaction. Some of the work performed on my car, actually more than a little, did not show up on my bill. Brian's manager, Billy, took my car in and provided a loaner, without an appointment, and followed through on every detail I addressed. No dealership could compete with this one. Even the physical setting is impressive. It feels like a high-end hotel. The waiting room feels like a comfortable living room. I’m looking forward to returning.

The most unprofessional experience of my life. We walked in around 6pm to take a look at 2 cars. Two sales people were on the floor and did not acknowledge us at all. The first was helping one couple and the 2nd was talking to someone as well. However, they each could have at least acknowledged us and told us they will be with us in a moment. Instead they both ignored us. The 2nd salesperson actually walked away after I asked one of the mechanics if we could get someone to help us. I get that you have other customers but an acknowledgment would go a long way with customer service.

We just purchased a 2015 XC60 here with around 23K miles on it. Volvo kept its word on the items they said they'd fix. There was a scuff on the side mirror which we noticed prior to purchase. The sales person, Al, said he'd make sure they took care of it. They did. They also promised to always have a loaner available if we make an appointment in advance. They did. They also fixed the broken visor mirror/light which we noticed was broken after we purchase the car at no charge, and sealed/minimized a tiny chip in the windshield driver's side which we also noticed after we purchased the car at no charge, and put on our license plates for us. The only thing they didn't come through on were protective floor mats. We were given the impression they'd throw them in with the purchase. We ended up having to buy them as it was unclear when they'd find some that fit our car that I guess were going to come from a used vehicle. This was not made clear initially. Also, the initial paperwork and some details about our loan weren't made clear upfront until we were signing for the car. But it appeared to be a miscommunication. Overall though the service and experience at this Kundert Volvo from sales to service beat any other Volvo dealership we've been to. They were not pushy. They let us test drive the car on our own. We purchased our car here because of the family run feeling of this dealership and because they seem honest and professional.

Nick was a great salesperson. He was able to find the car which I had been searching for and get me the pricing which I needed in order to make the deal. He knew my price points and was able to come through better than any other Volvo dealership in the tri state area. That is very impressive. The car was also ready when I arrived. The whole process in person took less than 2 hours and was mostly online. I traveled 2 hours to make this lease work and Nick held up his end of the bargain with an efficiency that I have never seen from a car dealership.

the staff here was very courteous and time efficient. If I was able to get my car serviced here I could perform a better review. However, After I filled out all the information online unfortunately that information did not transfer into their system so they could not appropriately schedule me. They scheduled me at the end of the week and they said the service would take about a week however they would not prefer their loner to be in my hands that long. They did do me a courtesy by allowing me a one-time loner because I didn't purchase my vehicle from them. However, I would have to purchase a plan from them if I wanted to continue to get the same kind of service from there Center. Due to the fact that other service centers do not require such plan and provide the same benefits I chose to take my business elsewhere rather than return to their Center. Pros: friendly service Associates that were understanding of my issues. Cons: an efficient scheduling website. Didn't plan in advance before I arrived at the center to make sure they can meet all my needs. If you do not purchase your vehicle from this dealer you will need to buy an additional service plan to get the same service benefits.

I did my annual maintenance here and they charged me a good $700 and all they actually do is change the oil, I discovered many problems in my car the next week, one of them almost had me killed, was brakes problem, which tells me that they did nothing but charge me money. So I had my 2nd free service scheduled drop off and a loaner waiting. But when I got there I said to Pete, it’s just an oil change. I’ll wait instead of taking a loaner and having to come back. He said about an hour and a half, I said no problem. Went to check out the new models in the show room, checked out what they had outside, went to the parts department to check out prices on parts for my older volvo, and went back in and sat down in the service waiting room. Not even 10 minutes went by Pete came and said my car was ready. 45 minutes tops. Much appreciated guys!!

I purchased an S60 from Kundert as an out of state buyer. From the moment I set foot in the dealership to sign the paperwork and pick up the car, my experience was abysmal and required over 10 phone calls and 20 emails with the dealership to resolve. See a summary below. When signing paperwork, the finance manager attempted to strong-arm me into a higher interest rate than what I had previously qualified for based on my application. There was a clear attempt to breeze over numbers quickly and take advantage of a young buyer and it took 15 minutes of confrontation for him to provide me with the lower interest rate for which I had qualified. I then had a nightmarish experience in getting my plates and registration mailed to my out of state address. A week prior to my temporary plate expiration, the sales manager lied over the phone, stating that my permanent plates were being tracked through the mail and would arrive in time. A few days later, he lies again saying that he has arranged for new extended temporary plates to be sent in time for the expiration date. Neither of these things ever happened, and I later found out that my plates were not even shipped until a day after the temporary plate expiration. Additionally, the day after the plate expiration, the sales manager guarantees that my permanent plates will arrive by 10 AM the next day and that a signature would be required. I took a half a day off from work to receive this shipment, which did not end up arriving until 9 PM that night (and it turned out that a signature was not even required). As a result of the incompetence of Kundert employees, I missed a half a day of work and was forced to go out and rent a car for 2 days in order to make my commute after my temporary plates expired and before they sent the permanent ones. Direct quote from the sales manager: "This happens all the time, we usually just pay the tickets for customer's unregistered vehicles." Kundert actually directly advocated me to drive my car illegally in the interim period while they got around to processing my registration paperwork (which they had 30 days to do). To their credit, the general manager graciously agreed to cover my rental transportation costs during the unregistered period, which I greatly appreciated. However, she had also agreed over the phone to reimburse in full my motor vehicle fee and did not follow through on this. When I received the check in the mail, the reimbursement was only for a portion of the fee. All told, I spent close to 8 hours of personal time to extract information from this dealership on something that should have been provided to me automatically and without issue. Both the finance and sales managers were confrontational at times and the general manager did not fully follow through on her promise to make it right. Unfortunately my family will be looking elsewhere to purchase our 7th Volvo when the time comes.

Mike was excellent. He knew exactly what needed to be done. We scheduled an appointment to drop off my car for repairs after another driver hit my car. He knew that the damage to the car would require more work than the driver's insurance approved. He worked with the insurance company and had them approve the additional work as well as an additional day's car rental. I did not have to do a thing. The work was excellent. This dealership has been providing all my maintenance and repairs since I bought the car several years ago. They customer service is excellent, I never had to return my car after a repair was completed for additional work, the prices are excellent. The service area and waiting room are always clean and comfortable.

I've been buying cars for 40 years and I found a breath of fresh air here in Hasbrouck Heights at Kundert Volvo Pre-owned. After 2 horrid weeks of dealing with incompetent, unprofessional, ignorant and just plain dishonest used car salesman, I had a stroke of good luck in discovering this establishment. From my first phone conversation with Al, to meeting him and Jesse -- and then buying my new Volvo S60-- it has been a perfect and pleasurable experience. These two gentleman are not only capable and expert representatives of Volvo Automobiles, but they met and EXCEEDED my needs and expectations. Insulted by dishonest sales team. Completed portion of negotiation online, was told 12 cars are available. Arrived ready to purchase a car. Confirmed 12 similar cars are available. Went for a test drive. Upon return was told of the "surprising news" that all 12 cars had sold out since my arrival. The dealership was empty. At this point the sales team started their attempt to sell a different more expensive car. Waste of an afternoon.

Erin was great in the finance department and even Billy the owner was involved and available. While buying a car can be a daunting experience, the folks at Kundert make it easy and non threatening.
