I went in for an oil change and tire rotation. Not only were these done, but they also let me know that my inspection was due, and instead of coming back another day they could just do it for me right then. That was really great, because it is difficult for me to find time to make it in for service! I was a little disappointed that the car-detailing is not a service that is offered any more. However, the sales manager was able to refer me to someone to detail my car, and it all worked out in the end. I appreciate the service team being proactive with all my car's care, and a huge thank you to Sales Manager (Mr. Lombardi I believe) for the referral for the car-detailing! This place has been great from start to finish!

Bought a pickup truck here, one of the worst dealership experiences I've ever had. From the initial test drive (gas tank empty) to the scheduled pick up time (truck not ready) where I had to wait over 2 hours past the scheduled time, it was just a completely unpleasant experience. The dealership seemed to me to be completely disorganized and I would not go back to them again because of it.

took truck in for front end noise they changed wheel hub. that part went great but didnt fix the problem. dropped the truck back off for same front end noise , after they had the truck for 3 days i called for an update they said the took left front end appart and test drove 3 times and cant find anything. i picked up the truck and drove 20 miles and front end noise is still there, called service manager and tpld him i was comming back he sent 2 tech with me they hear it. they kept the truck to try and figure it out . its been 2 days since that ride with the 2 techs stikk waiting tp hear. they did put me in a loaner while they have been trying to fix my truck. noise started at 890 miles...

Worst experience I've ever had with a dealership! After having $2000 worth of work on my truck I try and leave the dealership and the battery is dead. The battery was a auto craft silver and six months old. They don't just die for no reason. They told me they changed my oil and I find my old filter on it. When I called them on it they told me they changed the oil but didn't changed the filter. But told me if I came down to the dealership they would give me one for free. Wow that's service!! Anyways if you are looking for a good Chevy dealership drive the extra 30min to concord and go to Banks!!

I just left with the truck of my dreams. Overall a good buying experience. They valued my trade right, helped me with financing and showed me a value I couldn't refuse. Jay in finance was helpful with my less than perfect credit score. I shared with him about my recent divorce, and its effects on my credit and he pushed all the right buttons to get the right numbers and overall the most financially sound deal. The only thing next is to leverage this sweet truck on a Friday night ;-). In short, great experience, good staff, strong value.

Wow. Some pretty brutal reviews on here. My husband and I have purchased all our cars from Portsmouth Chevy, and we're about to go back for another. I bought mine through John McSharry (no longer there) and had an excellent experience. No pressure sales and took his time to educating me. John Miele worked with me in finance. He was a hoot! I enjoyed the relaxed environment of the dealership during my purchasing process.I go back regularly for maintenance as well. The people in service have always been kind and straight with me. The car (2012, 35k miles) has never had any issues. The few recalls I had done were completed swiftly. There are never any gimmicks to get me to replace the air filters or flux capacitors. Not so sure why there are such lousy reviews. Perhaps it had to do with buyers' attitudes? If you go into any business expecting to get screwed and you're rude to the salespeople, I doubt you'll leave there feeling good about the experience. I went in with an open mind and my typical sense of humor and left feeling taken care of, and more importantly, loving my car. I still love it, and I bought it 3 years ago!

Should be an option for no stars had issues with sales dept a year ago when i bought the car, now the car has issues so I take it in and they tell nothing is wrong. The day after in had in last time service advisor calls me and offers a specialist that will be in monday cant call out of work so i share my option with the service advisor bout that. She then rudely tells me its my problem then and hangs up on me. Next i call the dealership looking for a way to talk to the person that runs the dealership they wouldnt give me a number only and email so i email this person 2 weeks ago and have not heard back.

Walked in to look at a used Silverado, walked out with a brand new one. The sales person, Chris was helpful and never did i feel rushed or pressured. Actually, it took quite a while, because I wanted to take the truck home that day. I was in the market for a full sized, crew cab 4x4 pickup and found Portsmouth Chevrolet through a car buying service I was using. I am glad I did because the entire experience was top notch. It was probably the best over-all experience I have ever had searching out and purchasing a new vehicle. The entire staff was friendly and it was clear that Portsmouth Chevrolet integrated the philosophy of a no pressure buying experience into the daily workplace. Options and extras were offered- but nothing was pushed. Eleanor was a treat to work with. Knowledgeable, friendly and accommodating in every way. 2011 Chevy Cruze. Showed up without an appointment due to engine trouble, they took me right in and diagnosed it and put a temporary fix to get me through the weekend. So thankful for that! My appointment the following week took a little longer than I expected, however the work was done right, which is all that mattered. I felt that the service department was HONEST, which is the biggest reason I come back. The only drawback of coming to the dealership for service is the high price compared to other garages, however I feel that the work is done correctly and my car seems to just run smoother after service is done at Chevy.

BEWARE!! They run your credit through there dealership and they don't even finance! They will run your credit 2-3 times through the another creditor without permission or knowledge, very pushy salesman, they will try to get you to buy no matter what, they do not have your best interests at stake, I know salesman can be pushy but these people take the cake, tried to speak with finance personal and he was very rude!! Didn't want to answer any questions I had, or be helpful in the least, kept talking over me and wouldn't let me talk!!

The very same day I applied for the same car in Amesbury and I was granted for the lease...not a great service after all. I am driving an equinox from Mass now...

They wanted to charge me $850 for plugs, wires and an O2 sensor. I said no and did the plugs and wires myself for $60 and the O2 sensor was fine once all cylinders were firing properly. I don't mind paying for good service but almost $1000 for a partial tune up is criminal. Stay away from this place.

One of the worst places to buy a vehicle. One price shop. No neogations on over priced vehicles. Didn't want to come down on price of the vehicle being damaged. Still asking above book and price and when you call them out on it all they say is we've priced it according to others in the area. So that's ok cause when you make up three dealerships in Portsmouth alone? I went out and got a great deal from Bonneville. Same truck down to the color but in better shape. 5000 dollars difference in pricing. Save your money shop elsewhere

I had met Chris Payeur several weeks prior to the purchase of my new Silverado when I had stopped in to test drive one of several different makes/models of trucks. At that time, Chris was knowledgeable and took the time to completely answer my questions. When I had decided on the vehicle I wanted, I contacted Chris and he remembered completely the vehicle I was looking for. When I arrived the next day, two of the three vehicles from my request list were ready for my review. Chris had also prepared a list of discount programs I was eligible for, showed me the benefit these discounts would have on the Silverado line. I was able to purchase a Silverado (LTZ) with so many more features that I would have never believed I could get and stay within my budget. Instead of taking most of the day to purchase a vehicle, I was able to drive away within a couple of hours which included prepping the truck and completion of all the paperwork. I am extremely satisfied with the service and customer care provided by Portsmouth Chevrolet.

Can't do zero stars, so i had to pick 1. Took my 2001 Silverado in for service. Explained that it had an electrical problem. Truck would completely lose all power randomly. Some days ran fine, some days dead, no start, all settings back to default. COMPLETE loss of power. They kept the truck for almost 2 days, called and said the found nothing and charged me $109 for "diagnostics." I argued and ended up paying $60 for them to walk out and try and start it a few times. I told them it was electrical. I ended up posting to an online forum and someone replied that a total loss of power would most likely come from a failed primary battery ground, or failed primary battery positive lead. Took me 5 minutes to check the battery cables and the negative terminal fell out of the battery. Obviously they didn't do anything at all to look at the electrical system, but still wanted $109 for it. Complete ripoff. $5 at NAPA for a new screw in battery terminal and the truck is perfect again.

Dang, had I read some of these other reviews prior, I might not have ever gone to Portsmouth Chevrolet but I'm sure glad I did not read them and I went because my experience was excellent. Maybe it is because I worked with John who is a salesman, but more like an expert on every car on the lot. He was incredibly helpful, receptive in-person, on the phone and over text but most of all he knew his stuff and never fluffed an answer. Anyway, my experience was great and the total amount of time I spent at the dealership was minimal compared to experiences in the past elsewhere. I will be back for sure.

Bought a used 2014 chevy silverado 4.3 here. Two big issues with the purchase 1. Went in here pre approved from capital one. (Important as you can build your financing options and bring to the dealer to have them write up the deal exactly as the loan states) I went in negotiated price ( to match my approval and terms, which was me putting money down to bring the financed amount down) the finance manager had me fill out an application as capital one apparently needed a hard app after applying online already and being approved. I obliged and provided the app. The finance manager submitted my app to.three additional companies without even asking me which brought my score down 27 points. And then resubmitted me to capital one for a higher amount than I wanted to finance (the full amount of the truck without cash down)which they said yes to but In doing so they raised the rate due to the higher risk. And the finance manager apparently couldn't get fixed so my payment went from 398 to 441 a month. Needless to say I'm still angry every time I make a payment but will refinance it soon. 2. The salesman Alex promised me a second set of keys and key fob. Saying he was positive they had it.and.would.find it. Total lie. I ended up having to buy a key which was 47 dollars. Alex is no longer there apparently. I also ended up buying the factory remote start since it was almost the same price as a new key fob programmed. But now have to pay $260 to have them program that... needless to say im frustrated.

I wish that I could say that I have had a great experience, but in the long run I have not and I have been a customer for a little over 2 years. If I ever knew about the whole leasing thing and the trade in, I wouldn't have trade it in. The reason being said is that we traded my car in because my lease experied and they promised that they would pay the entire bill, but dealing with John marital I felt that he wasn't really understanding where I was coming from. I wasn't treated the way that any customer should be. I am glad everyone else has had a positive experience, but I am now completely done dealing with Chevy

My experience at the Portsmouth Chevy dealership was great! After finding the vehicle I wanted on their website, Chuck Barrett and the staff immediately brought that vehicle from their location in Salem to Portsmouth in order for me to take a look and a drive! Although the vehicle was a previously owned 2010 Toyota Tacoma, Chuck and the whole management team treated this sale like their most expensive new car or truck on the lot. The truck was clean when it arrived and the service dept. cleaned it again just before I left the lot with it. The paperwork was done professionally, everything was clearly explained to me with no hassles! I will definitely come back to see Chuck whenever I have an issue and will recommend anyone that I know to see Chuck, Brad or any of the sales team if they are looking for a good car-buying experience. I might buy another GM buy certainly not from any company controlled by key auto. Terrible customer service imo. Was told that we had an exhaust leak, and needed a new power steering unit for a total of close to $500 bucks and that it would NOT pass inspection. Brought the vehicle to our local mechanic and was told that we did not need those repairs and it passed inspection! NEVER AGAIN will I use this dealership for any purchase or service

My experience with the sales department was stellar, and I actually justified paying $4K over MSRP because of how happy I was: this low mileage Toyota Tacoma was a lucky find and I was able to quickly drive it off the lot.. However, it should be explained clearly and up front that the service department will charge a flat $114 to just check on your check engine diagnostic, without doing any work. And they cannot guarantee their work on transmissions because "transmissions are tricky". I don't think I can afford to have my vehicle serviced there, but that is not their fault! Overall, their follow up to a complaint is 100% satisfactory. Thank you!

Hands down the best GM Dealership in the North East. I cannot say enough about Portsmouth Chevrolet's service department. I was referred to Portsmouth Chevrolet by a close friend who also drives a Duramax and I am glad I went there. The service manager Pete, service write Jasmine, and the diesel technician Kevin have been nothing but outstanding. I have had my Duramax there twice due to serious issues created from another GM dealership in my town. I have no problem driving almost two hours to bring my vehicle to these people because I know it will be fixed right the first time. They have treated me with the upmost respect and fairness. Both times I have been there, they have gotten my truck in and out in a very short time frame. To anyone with a Duramax I HIGHLY recommend this dealership. They know what they are doing, and will not take advantage of you like other dealerships. 10 stars

First of all they called me to lease a new vehicle as my lease was coming due and it sounded pretty decent. We negotiated on a set price with money coming back to me to cover sales tax and a lease payment on the old vehicle. My sales person never calls back. Once the sale is made and the vehicle is delivered they couldn't care less about you unless you are standing in front of them. I was told the money would be funded on the Tuesday after I leased the truck on 8/26. Still no money 10 days later nor an explanation other than its in the mail. Their customer service skills are the worst at best except for the service department. The truck is great but dealing with Portsmouth Chevrolet is a terrible experience. Never again.

The support of CarPlay was quite possibly one of the biggest features I was looking at when I purchased this vehicle and it's very frustrating that Chevy can't make it right. My wife's 2018 Jeep Wrangler Unlimited *NEVER* has an issue...works EVERY time with both of our iPhones (my XS Max and her 8+). We always use Apple cables. We take care of our stuff. There should be negative stars. They increased the purchase price on my used car transaction. When I noticed it a week later, they would not correct. That is on top of the hundreds of dollars in "paperwork fees", the dirty car---other things not done such as inspection sticker. Increasing the price was on top of the bad condition of the vehicle. My fault because I did not read things carefully the night of the deal.. MY fault for going here when I was warned against it. MY fault for trusting a major business to give me a fair deal. THEIR fault the public even needs to worry about crap like this happening. Do NOT buy here.

If I were to buy another one I would go straight to him. 0 stars for the service. Place is just god awful to have your vehicle serviced. They never answer the phone so you can't book anything, they stop taking walk-in's at 3:45 pm so god forbid you work a normal job. I was told it would take over an hour and a half to get an inspection on a brand new truck. They advertise free inspections for NH residents for the life of the vehicle but good luck getting one.

I just bought a new Chevy Avalanche from their salesmen Wayne. Service was great and was able to get out of there in a timely manner. The prices were competitive and the truck is great, they had a great selection of vehicles to choose from, but fortunately I knew what I wanted. Haven't had a bad experience here yet. They always call to let me know the status of my car. If more than what I intended needs to be done, they call to get verification before doing anything, along with estimates. They usually have loaners if your car needs to stay longer than one day or shuttling services if all the loaners are out. They've even gone over a list of maintenance I'd need to have done over the course of a year, gave a rough pricing, and a timeline of when I could do them so the blow to the wallet wasn't so bad. I can't say for certain if the prices are higher because it's a dealership (I assume they are), but for the service I've had, it's worth it. I've had service done by a few local car shops and it was nearly the opposite of what I got from this dealership...so I'll pay a little extra for the better service.

Worst experience ever. I setup an appointment with them on 6/29/2017 around 1 pm and went there the very next day at 8 am. I was very much excited that, I would get Chevy Equinox 2012, $12995 in a reasonable price, the car I want in next 2 hours. Unfortunately the car was already sold. I was so disappointed and they told me that they would give me a good deal instead and I asked for the alternatives.And then they took me to Portsmouth Used Car Superstore for a 2013 Equinox and drove back to the dealer. The price was way too high then I expected around 16K. They tried to add their so called administrative fee of $424 on top of that quoted price which was never processed and took $500 off that price. They tried to convince me but I found something wrong. Instead of giving me a deal they were trying to add more. They called me in to look at the car which was already sold and instead of giving me a deal they were trying to rob me. So shameful and disgusting. Their price is not exact what you see in the website. After that I asked for my key and left. I would give them a negative star if I could. Be aware people. Keep away from these dramatic robbers. Such a shame.

I had a 9AM appointment on black Friday and expected not many people to be there. I had 2 recalls that needed to be taken care of and a headlight issue. The parts were there, so I decided I would wait. The waiting room was full and I did not leave until after 12. I had told them that the issue was a wiring issue, but they had to charge a diagnostic fee too. When I left, the check engine light was still on in my car. I knew it was on beforehand but neglected/forgot to tell the people that checked me in. Upon calling back, they had not even checked it. This was really frustrating because, if they are going to charge a diagnostic fee, then they should look at the car and not just the headlights. I do not think that they needed to charge me $110 for me to tell them that there was a wiring problem to the headlight. The good thing was that when this was brought up they allowed me to come back and have the check engine light checked for no cost.

We were lied to about the crash history of our vehicle, we received a false carfax on the 2015 Tahoe we purchased from them back in March( after having the car detailed we noticed multiple runs in the paint, both the driver side and passenger side windows fell down that being said we had another dealership check out the vehicle used parts have been used through out the front end-they ran the vin and we were told it had been in multiple front and crashes) being the beginning of August (5 months)!!! we are still waiting to get this issue resolved... we are in contact with them multiple times weekely and we just keep getting the run around. I am very satisfied with my experience with Portsmouth Chevy. I originally bought a Jeep Cherokee. After 3 days it had an issue-no fault of the dealership which made me uncomfortable. I was sure what would happen. When I told them I would like to return the Jeep and get something else-they had no issue with me doing so, not for one minute. Initially pleased with the dealership until we needed to use the Portfolio warranty coverage they sold to us at the time we purchased our 2012 Silverado truck. The warrant company requirements and time for approval is very poor which makes this dealership responsible for both the inconvenience and overall poor customer service. We live far enough away to use the Portfolio coverage at another Chevrolet dealer but our local dealers make it clear they don't want to deal with Portfolio. I provided an explanation of the issues with my vehicle when i dropped it off that detailed what has been done in an attempt to service my truck for the same issue I have had since I leased the truck and I have now had the truck in for service on the same issue (3) times, first the tires were balanced, secondly (3) out of (4) tires were replaced, and now the tires were re-balanced again but the issue remains and to boot I was initially going to be charged for the re-balancing but then was refunded after I spoke up about it. This truck has a bad vibration @ highway speeds (73 and up) since the date I leased it and it has not been fixed and now it appears that I am supposed to just deal with it, unacceptable. There is clearly an issue with this truck and if your tech would have just taken it on the highway at highway speeds he would have clearly noticed the issue. When I asked if the truck was road tested at highway speeds I was told it was driven for 6 miles and was never taken up to highway speeds, how are you to experience the issue if you do not even diagnose the issue correctly? I will never return to this dealership and will make sure no one I know ever does either. This is my second vehicle purchased via KEY Auto Group and it will clearly be my last. I will be reaching out directly to GM to try to have this issue addressed and you can guarantee I will be telling whomever I speak with about this service received or shall I say lack of service I received from your dealership. Feel free to contact me as I would prefer to speak to a manger about this as this is unacceptable. I do not want to deal with this issue any longer but there is nothing I can do but count down the days until I can get rid of the truck as I do not want to trade this truck in to another dealership as I cannot push this issue off on another unsuspecting driver. 16 months to go and then never buy a GMC/Chevy truck again.

They sell lemons! Bought a car here and asked for a safe and reliable car. So they set us up with the "best they had" long story short it spent about 4 months at the shop they have numerous issues. But the one that kept happening was the head gasket over and over 3 times at least. One would think of looking at the heads while your at it! Then we wanted to return it early on so what did they do without asking run our credit on cars we didn't even get offered to look at never said sure try and get us that one. Nope did it without asking!!! Don't worry kyle is gone now he quit they told us once we found out! Stay away from here go to Manchester,Concord or Dover chevy!! Plus they have better offers
