Went here for airbag recall only. Did not have the part I needed in stock that day so had to return. Temporary waiting area during construction wasn't especially comfortable, but has been remedied with a nice updated structure. Now I get calls and mail telling me to trade in my car or bring it in for service. Easy enough to cancel at least.
Looked at a car a few months back. I picked out the one I wanted, it was blue. I was ready to close the deal, so I went home and came back the following Friday. The sales men got all the paper work out and I started signing and didn’t realize until about the 4th paper that he had the wrong car in the paperwork. Instead of getting the car I wanted, I got a lower model total different color. At least he got the right brand.
Jason was very personable and felt no pressure into buying a car the day we came down to look. He helped us work out numbers for options and left us satisfied with our first visit. When we returned to purchase the car, he was very happy to see us and understood our feelings of letting go of our old car and purchasing the new one. Staff was great and look forward to returning for when we need a vehicle again.

I had a good experience here. Made an appointment for an inspection in advance, showed up on time and was in and out in less than 30 min. Everyone was very friendly and the waiting area was comfortable and had some free coffee.

I bought my car here, and it was a horrible experience. Waited for an hour for the sales man to show up. Then took another hour to get thing done, for a cash sale! Service department has screwed me over at least three times that I can think of. I will not be coming back here even tho I have free services. I am going to pay to go somewhere else. That is how horrible this place is!!!
The service department is excellent at Newport Chevy! I have done the most business with Bennett and he is fantastic! My car is getting old and I feel like I’ve found a place I can trust to fix what actually needs to be fixed.

The Service Department went out of their way to help me make an appointment, for which I am deeply grateful. The work was supposed to take an hour and 15 minutes, but I only had 45 minutes. So two techs teamed up to get the work done in the shorter time. That was incredibly nice of them!
Screwed us on a double car purchase, then burnt us by using our warranty to fix our car befor we even got the buick. so when we needed our warranty they refused because so much was paid out in repairs. Then airbag recall and told us it wasnt the recall and it would cost thousands to fix. but at another shop told it was a recall issue. In the end we got hit for 12k on a vehicle that wasnt drivable and let it be repoed. Filed complaints to BBB on the autosavergroup we have been black listed from about any dealer ship in the area, all because we prooved what they did was wrong, being a disabled person couldnt afford a lawyer to go after them and make them pay for the damages they caused . VETs beware. Scam artist. Never would go there ever again.

My spouse and I were lured here by the promise of a new 2017 Chevy Impala for $14,500. They refused to discuss the price over the phone, and insisted we would have to drive 45 minutes to the dealership. We arrive, and the salesman who we were scheduled to meet with is inexplicably missing, so we are instead given an audience with Jeff LaClair. After trying to swoon us with a test drive, Jeff tells us he can't honor the price because they "ran out of coupons." They then attempted to sell us a 2014 model that was outside the hard limit of our budget, which we communicated to them repeatedly, and which ran on diesel, a fact he did not communicate in his attempt to sell us on the details of the vehicle and which we only found out about on their website. Curiously, their website also still listed 11 of the 2017 models at the advertised price. When we discussed this discrepancy with our salesman, Jeff LaClair, he asserted that it "wasnt his department." We discussed this with their sales manager, who claimed they had "just run out of coupons that morning, isnt that funny?" This was an obvious bait and switch, and I'm embarassed that we fell for it at first. Don't expect honesty, reliability, accountability, or basic competence from these people.
Pricing is definitely reasonable. Negotiation wasn't unpleasant. Vehicle is as expected, this is the second vehicle we have purchased from here. Overall good experience.
The service was terrible the music was disgusting I will not shop here ever
While they were really nice and awesome, I went to my appointment at 10. I got there and had to leave my car, I had my 2 children with me and my friend came to pick me up. I had to transfer the car seats from car to car. It took them a half hour to an hour to call and tell me they couldn't do my recall. I just wish they had told me sooner that they couldn't have done it...they would have known almost immediately. But they are great otherwise.

We thoroughly enjoyed our experience with our salesperson, Anthony. He was not aggressive, but knowledgeable, and the few times he didn’t know the answer to our questions, admitted it. In those cases, he sought advice from his colleagues, and got back to us with accurate information. Bottom line: our experience was nothing but positive, and we recommend Anthony and the dealership without reservation.

I’ve worked with these guys before. Always nice people. They worked on my fiancé’s car and they helped us out with the overall price. They let us know what was going on during the whole process and updates on how long it would be. I had my kid with me and the service advisor (Bennett) even came out with stuffed animals for my child. He even gave us extra because our other daughter wasn’t with us and he didn’t want her to feel left out. Amazing team over there in Newport. Keep up the good work.

Have been trying to get my car in for service for warranty repairs for months now. Instead I get we are 3 weeks out and my only day off they can't do a diag on it that day. Now gm had told me I should seek service repairs at a dealership they recommended.
Quick response to my parts request - though unable to fill request, parts manager Kevin made sure to provide names and contact info for local Chevy dealers who could better assist me. I would gladly return there for service!

Extremely Disappointed in service here. Had it in for recall work a few months ago, and needed some finished today. Also needed an inspection today, figured wrap it all in as one and get it done with. Service decided to change a sensor part that had already been changed the last time it was in, and then try to inspect the vehicle. Sensor worked fine, vehicle should have passed with no issues, yet because they decided to do something extremely stupid, that none of my mechanic friends can understand, I have to drive around with a clear sticker and get pulled over constantly for at least a month, as they need 500 miles put on the vehicle before it can be inspected again. I wish I had listened, and just gone to Banks Chevy in Concord for the work, figured keep the work and money in home town. Me and my wife were just starting to look at options for our next vehicles. And funny, Newport Chevy has exactly what I want on the lot, ready to go, but after this, I would not give them another penny for anything. I would suggest you go any were else for service, even drive the hour to concord, because these guys are pitiful. Mike Fisk

Very good experience at Newport Chevrolet. My. Salesperson Jessica was excellent and very understanding of my concerns and what I could do to be able to to get back Into a Chevy truck. Also the finance manager was very helpful and understanding also.
I love my new to me car and the process was relatively simple. That said, the salesman ignored me most of the time deferring to my husband. He didn't make sure the paperwork regarding my proof of income was the correct paperwork the bank needed. Nor did the finance manager. Or the sales manager. We had to make another trip back and jump thru hoops a week afterwards. Relatively small, but you'd hope after buying a $30,000 vehicle the staff would know these standards. I would recommend this dealership as a whole, just not the salesman we used.

It says that they are working on Sundays from 11am - 3pm. I have only one day off, I spent 2 hours to get there. And it was CLOSED. I am so disapointed.

I went in to get an oil change with my 2 girls. They found that I had gas leaking from my fuel line. They had the part overnighted and put me in a loaner right away so I was not sitting there any longer with my girls. Everyone was very nice and helpful.
I have a wonderful experience every time I use their services. Even when I have an inspection or repair work done, they are honest and open about what needs to be done and cost alternatives. I am so buying my next vehicle from them!!!!

I took time off from work to bring my 2007 Chevy Malibu down for some recall work. They were able to do the patch to one of the recall items, but the other required a return trip. When the part came in, I was contacted and I explained that I work Mon - Sat and am unable to bring the car down. The last time I brought my car, I had to take time off from work which I was unable to do for the second trip. I was contacted a second time about a month later and the gentleman who I was talking with said that he would see if they could come up and get the car. He said that he would call me back with a day that they would that, I never received a call. So, my car still needs the remaining recall work done to it and I have no way to get the car down there without my losing time from work and money from my paycheck.

This truck (2015 gmc) has been nothing but a nightmare. new starter and transmission in my first 20k of owning it, also oil leaks and cv problems at the first oil change. The certified pre owned needed all new brakes/rotors and tires after 5k miles, and the battery failed in the second month of owning it. Not to mention the painful process that was buying it. Salesmen telling me i can exceeded gm specified town ratings, and not to worry about it. The first truck i "bought" was actually under recall and had to be brought back to the dealer. Then i got the bait and switch with a much more beat up truck. After the problems it has had in the first year there is no way i can justify the payment or ever buying from Newport gmc again. The service department however has been the bright spot, unfortunately i know them too well. I would not recommend this dealer to anyone.
Leased my first vehicle last October. I have been overly satisfied with Newport Chevrolet Buick GMC. Had my car serviced when needed and was basically in and out and on my way. They even washed my Terrain. Very happy and would recommend!
Service was great. They got me in last minute. I didn't even need an appointment for my oil change and tire rotation. They even washed my truck for free, which was surprisingly nice and very appreciated. Nice staff and a beautiful waiting area with free beverages and wifi. They even brought my truck right around for me when it was finished and gave me a free 27 point inspection when I pulled in. I couldn't have been happier and I highly recommend the place! 80)

Each time I have been to get serviced they do a good job! The reason I did not give a hi score is because I do not always feel they are completely forthcoming with there service, such as, I was there a while ago for an oil change, tire rotation and general maintenance. They came back to me and said I needed to get my calipers in my breaks fixed and they quoted me a price of close to $300 to fix. Fast forward to a few weeks ago when again I went in for general service and asked them to just check the calipers, I was told nothing was wrong with them? But they found something with in my omissions that needed attention at over $200 to fix! Makes me feel like I have to keep my guard up because what is true and what the service department says you need are two different things! Sounds like they try to up-sale you every time you go in!

This place is yet a note shady dealer that will rip someone off if they have the chance. So I got 2 stories I'll sum them up. The first one if from a sweet old lady friend that bought a car from them and service the car there for a while. One warranty was done every time she did service car had some sorta problem soon after she left. Then one day she broke side mirror they quoted her $700 to fix. She found a repair place down the road that would do it for 500. She called them out of loyalty and gave them a chance to match price. Then they told her they could but they would not use same paint that the car already have wich will look off. So she went to other car repair place. Ups delivered part by accident to the dealer that was trying to rip her. The repair place called them to get there part but this dealer refused like a Lil child making her life hard just because they did not get to rip her once again. So the other repair place called Daimler Chrysler that shipped part and they told them to give them part or else wich they did. Other one they sold a car to a single mother of 3 a car they knew she could not make payments on. Especially with her bad credit and low paying job. But they did because we'll as long as they get there check what do they care.

After dropping my truck off for service before flying out of town, I can honestly say the Fred Pierce in service has set the bar. I had an excellent experience at Newport Chevrolet purchasing a new GMC Canyon. This was my sixth new vehicle purchase, and I've seen all types of dealer tactics. At Newport, I dealt with Ralph Farnsworth and Crazy Dave Gifford (from the commercials). Neither confronted me with high-pressure sales tactics, theatrics, or gimmicks. Both were honest and forthright, and took care to listen to what I wanted and didn't want. When it came time to talk numbers, it took fifteen minutes to close the deal. After we made the deal, my good experience continued as the finance manager talked me through the necessary paperwork without pressuring me to buy additional warranties and accessories I didn't want. Now I'm the happy owner of a brand new GMC Canyon All-Terrain - exactly the truck I wanted (not the more expensive trim levels) without having to fight for it. I enthusiastically recommend Newport Chevrolet! Ask for Ralph and Dave for an honest deal.
Waste of time and land..
If I could leave a ZERO stars rating I would. My daughter and I had an awful experience here. When I went there, we were interested in the Chevy Sonic's . We wanted to test drive one and see if it would fit our needs. The salesman wouldn't even let us test drive the vehicle until we filled out a credit application to lease or purchase one ! After we test drive it, we decided it was too small and too cheaply made to fit our needs. We asked about another couple of vehicles and test drove them, but did not find something we liked. A month later, when we found the perfect vehicle, we could not get approved for financing because of too many credit inquires from Newport. They checked with six different bank for each car !!!! Each check dropped our credit score by 4 points. A total credit score drop of over 50 points ! BEWARE !
I don't understand, we lease a vehicle and bought a vehicle. Waiting 3 weeks for a oil change is pitiful. I'm disappointed, so now rather then wait 3 weeks, i will pay to get a oil change.

My car was towed there after I called and confirmed that service could get it in that week, they said yes. Also because they were the closest GMC dealer in my area. I borrowed my Mom's car for 4 days and then called them and asked what was going on that this is crazy and they said they hadn't even started it! I told them I wanted a loaner car (which the service manager Mike WAS NOT GOING TO OFFER) and he said yes because I was throwing such a fit. Mike was not very nice and he treated me like the customer is not always right... I just got my vehicle back after 3 days short of 4 weeks!!!!! They had excuses EVERY week why it wasn't done or even looked at. The blamed it on that they were super busy, then it was my Major Guard warranty (which only took 3 days to get approved), then it was the storm and their electricity....I would NEVER recommend Newport GMC to anyone.

Misty phoned us out of the blue, knowing we had just purchased our first home and that we had previously held off on purchasing a truck because of that and was checking in on us if we were ready to move forward or not. After she set us up an appointment we met with Ralph who was so easy going and inviting that we both felt very comfortable with him. Within 48 hours of our first appointment with Ralph not only did we get a new truck that initiated our appointment but a new SUV as well. "The best price. Period." Well, in all honesty, I told them of a better deal I could get at another dealer and they said, "Yeah, we cant do that" Wouldn't work with me at all on the price. I went to the other dealer (Quirk Chevrolet) and got a better equipped model of the same car....for 4000 less than what they were trying to get at this dealer for a bare bones base model. No brainer. Not to mention, I got the standard pushy salesman treatment. Try to discuss price? No, no no, lets discuss what your monthly payment will be instead! Bring up a competing dealers pricing? No matter, those are just advertised deals! You never really get that price! Well....he was right on that one, to a degree, cause I ended up with a price lower than they were advertising at the competing dealer....
Ralph and the newest manager Matt Lecuyer were able to make the deal this time and I look forward to the service and possible purchase of another vehicle from them.
It was a good experience. I got what I wanted and wasn't pushed into something I didn't want. I was able to take the time to check the vehicle all over and drive it before purchasing. The dealer answered all the questions I had and was very kind. I am very satisfied. I would recommend him to others.

I purchased my new 2019 Buick Encore at Newport Chevrolet Buick GMC. The Sales Manager Matt did an exceptionally outstanding job of assisting me to getting into this new car! He worked with me to purchase the best package for my needs! I would strongly recommend this group the next time you are looking to purchase a vehicle! They even threw in a 50 inch TV for Free with my purchase!! Matt even worked with the Springfield to get the exact model and bells & whistles I wanted! Hard working, dedicated team. Dave who was my sales rep also worked hard to help to get me the best deal!
Matt was able to get me a very good deal on my new car. The only downside was the only thing I asked for was GPS and when he showed me the vehicle he said it had everything I wanted. This was not the case, didn't realize it didn't have GPS until I got home and started messing with the radio and getting used to the controlles. Its not a deal breaker at all but if someone is told a vehicle has something it should have it. When I got a hold of hime to ask about it I was told the navigation was through onstar. All I could think was, I just bought a car and have payments, had to get full coverage insurance and of course have to pay for that every month now I have to pay for OnStar to get navigation. I think it was just mis communication and really doesn't affect my rating. I will just have to use me phone for the GPS.

Really disappointed. Test drove a car I actually liked but when it came to closing, the prices was over $10,000! over blue book value and the salesman offered $0 ! for my car. Waste of my time. Then to get emails from salesman asking if he could have a 2nd chance at making a good st impression? What a crock!

A very relaxed and enjoyable experience. No pressure to buy and a quick bargaining session compared to other experiences I have had. No long waits while manager was consulted. I was not left sitting alone for more than 5 minutes.
I bought a new vehicle here over a year and a half ago but wanted to wait to see if my opinions changed before writing a review... Here were the issues I had with Newport Chevy: - they performed two credit checks (When I agreed to the first I asked if they'd have to do another and they said no... so I went along with it. They ended up doing two anyway. Not happy seeing that on my credit report) - Jeff was my salesman. He was very nice and approachable, but he didn't know the paperwork. He handed me each thing to sign and didn't explain it, just read off the title of the paper and gave it to me to sign. - the vehicle was dirty. When I test road it, I asked if it would be clean and was told yes. The inside still had dirt on the floor. The outside of the vehicle already had small scratches in some areas. The left side mirror was cracked and they had to replace it before I got it. - there were 600 miles on it. I was paying full price for a new vehicle, that already had 600 miles on it, which was not what I wanted. - I was approached during the paperwork regarding an extended warranty by whom I'm assuming is some upper management. I asked how much it was and was answered around $750, for that price I said sure. When it came to looking at the numbers later, the extended warranty was over $3000 and the $750 was for gap insurance. Wish they were truthful about that before I said yes. - I wanted a hitch to be able to tow things and the vehicle didn't have one. So they added it for me. They didn't want to bother finding and getting a new, 0 miles, no scratches, with hitch already on vehicle. - for me it felt like they were pushing to sell this vehicle no matter what shape it was in. Looking back I should have just said no and walked away or demanded a completely new vehicle (since they already messed up my credit). I feel bad doing things like that so I didn't at the time. I still have the vehicle but will never buy another one from this dealership. - Luckily their service department has saved them and that's why I'm still going there. They are nice and seem to be truthful. When scheduling online they still call afterwards though... why would I schedule online if I was going to have to talk on the phone anyway? That seems redundant. Also, expect to wait a long time for service... an oil change can be over an hour. At least their lounge is decent.
The whole process was pretty easy. Jason Gibbs is friendly, courteous and thorough. No pressure. Rebecca was extremely helpful going over all the features. We love our equinox!
I’m not a guy that writes reviews. This may be my first. My wife and I bought a 2017 GMC Terrain back in February from Barry Potwin, what a great experience! He was easy to work with and more than happy to answer any of our questions. The reason I am writing this review now is because I have been able to take advantage of the “Big Deal”. The tires have been changed and rotated. The oil changed, along with an averall service review of the vehicle. All of this was done and I was treated like I was their only customer. You just don’t see that anymore. The entire staff have been wonderful to deal with. Barry, who sold us the vehicle. Kim, who welcomed us in for service. Bennet, who placed the work order. Sean, in the parts department,who got me a second set of keys in 2 days! Crazy Dave even came out to make sure we were happy. I will definitely be back to see this team for all my service needs and when I need another vehicle!

I had been in the market for a newer truck and had been searching the website car guru's. After a miserable experience from my local Chevy dealer, I found a GMC. I called Newport Chevy and spoke with the sales manager Matt. I made an offer on the truck and we were able to make a deal and appointment over the phone Now I live 3 hours away in upstate NY and I agreed on this without even seeing the truck. Today my wife and I took the ride to your place of business and met Matt Natole. He quickly grabbed the keys and a plate for a test drive and we also spoke with the sales manager Matt about the truck. Both of them made us feel welcome and relaxed. I am pleased to say that despite a few minor issues (that were quickly and happily addressed) I signed the paperwork and we were on our way back home. Very pleased with the entire experience. They even made a few jokes. I definitely will consider buying from them again. 3 hours isn't that far for a good deal and great service. Thanks guys. Ken Green Amsterdam NY.
I was having trouble starting my truck, and just so happens that my coolant level was low at same time. Turned into a much bigger repair than i expected, needed head gaskets. The shop was crazy busy, Bennett took the truck in and set me up with a loaner. Very big help getting my truck back into service. Good job!
I was inches from purchasing a GMC Sierra. But the dealership in VT was terrible to me. After dealing with Matt,Dave, and Barry I was more satisfied with my Chevy Silverado. I am looking forward to a long relationship with the Newport Chevrolet dealership

Zero stars. Either shoddy or nonexistent service. Brought the car in for 1 wheel heating up, was told they couldn't reproduce driving 5 miles. Must have been a rock. I leave and drive 5 miles, the wheel is hot to the touch. I don't think they even checked it, just tried to sell me a brake cleaning service that somehow costs double what everyone else In the area charges. I wouldn't go back even if it was FREE. Turns out they missed a bad wheel bearing through multiple test drives as well, even after I specifically mentioned the noise. Additionally, they won't sell me the bad wheel bearing, and instead require me to come in to have it installed. Unbelievable.
