These guys are not good to do business with. They flip auction cars. If you don't know what those are, research or ask someone. They also sell rental cars (red flag). They are not very honest, and I wouldn't trust an inspection sticker. Go get it inspected by someone else. Don't let their nice demeanor fool you. The devil has a nice smile too. Before you buy a car from their lot, ask to drive it to get it looked at by a knowledgeable set of eyes before you make your purchase. If they refuse, you know something's wrong. Stay away from them.

Three years ago I purchased my first car at Key Auto in Somersworth. So, when my husband and I found out we were expecting our third child and needed a bigger vehicle for our family we didn't hesitate on contacting the team again. After e-mailing back and forth with Wes, my husband and I stopped in with our two young children on a Tuesday evening. Wes totally understood our budget, our need for a reliable vehicle, and our situation with our trade-in. The next day, Marie worked her magic and was able to get us approved. I can not express how grateful my husband, Brian, and I are for the hard work of the Key Auto team to get us into the perfect vehicle for our family at a payment we can afford. This is my second time buying a vehicle from them and I would recommend them to everyone! They had my truck more then i have. They pulled codes of mis firing and then when i brought it back to get fix some how the code whete just gone. Very nasty people. I have heard so many people now telling me how theyre car is still sitting there. I got hung up on. Called names. And they refused to give me the owners contacked information. Just about 3 months ago purchased my second car from Key Auto Center after having my previous car for the last 10 Years and finally was not going to fix it anymore, I filled out the online credit app and got a call later on that day. I knew what I wanted this time around for a car, when I arrived at the dealership was looking around to see what they had on the lot but also had done some homework before going over and meet Wes, after talking a little letting him know what I was looking for,went home and later that night Wes was calling me to tell me yes they had my car and the exact model I was looking for went down the next day looked my car over and took it for a test drive was perfect! After signing and picking up my Avenger form Key the next day the heater core of the car just stopped and I went back to the dealership spoke with Marie the Sales Manager and they ordered the part and installed when it came in and gave me a loaner until it was completed, also covered the entire cost of the repair. If you are looking for a Honest place and no pressure sales then Key Auto is the Place to go and if you are looking for a High Quality used Vehicle go and see Wes and Marie at Key Auto in Somersworth They are Super helpful and will go way above and beyond to take care of you the customer, as Marie always says the car is just a car the Customer they want for Life.

Lets see. Well I only had 1 car to choose from and it wasn't the one I wanted. Before I picked up the car, they were supposed to change the brakes. They didn't replace them but said they did. I have had mechanics look at the brakes and they told me that they are factory brakes. How did they replace them if they are factory?Now my car which I have had less than 10 months is broken down 30 miles from home. Its been there for 6 days and key auto won't do anything to help. We have been calling them for 6 days now and nothing. They won't even let me trade the car in for another vehicle. I think it's time to get a lawyer. Sherman Washburn.

This review is on the service department mostly. Once my warranty is up in 8k miles I will never go here again. The service department doesnt fix the problem. When you bring the car back the next day they try to bully you into paying the deductable twice. When you make an appointment they say they cant get you in for a couple weeks They make false promises and lies . They do not honor what they tell you. Their reason is "they were just trying to get rid of you" exact quote from someone in service. When I picked up my car I asked if everything else in the suspension was good they said " I dont know we didn't check it" Terrible people. Terrible service. Bad cars. Buyer beware

The staff at Key Auto in Somersworth are extremely friendly and made our car buying experience one of the easiest that we have ever done. Their non-pushing approach when my husband bought his truck made me return just a few days later to get myself a car as well. We both got top dollar for our trades and didn't have to haggle on price, you just know that you are getting a good deal when you step on the lot and look at their prices. They make you feel welcome and the atmosphere isn't that of a stuffy dealership. They actually deserve a zero for the dishonesty involved. They had a car in the show room and the salesman Tim kept saying how meant it was and it was a Kia, come to find out five months later it needs pads and rotors all the way around after he told the purchaser that they were all brand new and the tires are bald. I am a friend of the guy that purchased it and he’s not happy about this because he made sure he asked the salesman more than twice if that anything was going to go wrong with it in the next year and I was reassured that it was mint and I specify mint because it was in the show room. Now when the purchaser calls tim tells him I’m off today or I’m busy today and then finally he got an FU. I know the general manager at Quay Chevrolet who actually owns both locations he’ll be getting a full report on this one. I almost forgot they also failed to disclose this car was either a rental or a lease.

I was referred to Key Auto by my sister after she had purchased a vehicle from them. When I decided that it was time to purchase a vehicle I looked around at multiple places, but after going to Key I wouldn't purchase a vehicle from anyone else. I looked at, drove, and loved many of the vehicles they had. I had Wes Maynard helping me there, who I must say was the best car salesman I have ever encountered. He was the nicest man, helping me find the cars that were right for me within my budget. He sat with my mother and I through many test drives and gave me very helpful, (and truthful) advice. After finally deciding on a 2008 Ford Fusion (which I LOVE), it was time to deal with the final part. With being a first time buyer without much credit history, I expected to run into some problems but Marie Forbes handled everything perfectly. She did everything in her power to get me the car that I wanted - and that's exactly what I got. Key Auto made what should have been a complicated and prolonged process very easy and less stressful. When I finally got my car, they were just as excited for me as I was. They took pictures and really made it an amazing day for a first time buyer. I HIGHLY recommend that anyone, first time buyers or previous owners go to Key Auto. I go back in for routine maintenance and everything and pop in to say Hi to Wes and Marie. We were immediately greeted by Wes who was friendly and helpful without being overbearing in the way that car sales people can sometimes be. I'm unfortunately not too impressed with them, and I will tell you why: I have never purchased a vehicle through a dealership before. I messaged Key Auto through Facebook, as a few friends of mine have had great experiences there. They were quick to respond which was very exciting. I explained that I had a certain budget and I was looking to mainly buy outright, but would be open to financing IF need be and I wouldn't want to take out a loan bigger than $2000. The response I received was "We have a lot of inventory in your budget and we can work with you to meet your needs, come on down!" So I did. Absolutely NOTHING was in my budget. And the few cars I was interested in weren't even on the lot (which I understand, they need to rotate stock etc). Also, I was told I couldn't finance any less than $4000. I was so sad because they were highly recommended. I guess if I wasn't there with a budget and could spend whatever I wanted on a car I probably would have had a better experience. I mean I understand that they need to make money but don't LIE to people! Seriously! So, my advice: if you have a "small" budget ($5000, which to me is not that small) don't go here. They don't have anything in that range and don't let them tell you otherwise. Other than that, everyone was very friendly.

Please don't go there. I just had my power window repaired and they pulled the plug out of it. They wanted to charge me to fix the power window. I just drove in there to get the clutch fixed. They are crooks. Please don't buy anything from these people. They will make something else wrong with your vehicle.

Made a verbal deal, then in contract it was different. Worked with Christian in Sales and Mike in finance. Seemed like cool guys. We made a deal, verbally and on paper, regarding the trade-in value of my Acura MDX kept in very good condition (which was sold in under 36 hours according to the dealer). With a recent death in the family I wasn't paying the strictest of attention - shame on me, they made me feel at ease. Anyways, to the point, after reviewing the sales agreement, I came to find that the trade-in value was not only not the amount (I believed) we agreed on, but it was in fact $50 lower than their original offer. Part of it's on me. I should have been more careful. I certainly will in all future dealership-related visits. Be careful with these people. Make sure you have everything in writing that they offer before you sign or pay anything.

What an experience. For some, buying a car is as fast and easy as taking a shower in the morning. For me not so much. So many dealerships these days will promise to get you into a vehicle yes, but with absolutely no consideration or reverence for the qualities that the vehicle needs to posses. I went in to Key in Somersworth almost a month ago with little money to put down and lofty requests of the staff. I needed a family vehicle with a 3rd row seat, under 100,000 miles, low payment, low money down and NOT A MINI VAN...please...anything but a mini van. I had met the GM Marie Forbes and Sales Professional Dean Boggs almost a year prior at a restaurant that I used to work at, and we just kept in touch. Dean became a client of mine, and we developed a high level of professional trust. When it comes to Marie, we need more of her in the world today. Through the whole process, I could absolutely tell how hard she was working to get me what I needed. She was constantly on the ball with the finance company. Every time I had a concern, she was one step ahead of me. This all came to an end this morning when I drove my Toyota Highlander home. I couldn't be happier. If you need a vehicle, whether you believe you're in a good spot to buy or not, take my advice; pay Marie and Dean a visit. You will come as strangers and leave as family. Dean and Marie are officially invited to Thanksgiving at my house. #happynewcarday

I owned a 97' Nissan Maxima that needed a substantial amount of body work done in order to pass for a sticker. Instead of putting money into the car just to keep it going another year, I was referred by my girlfriend's mother to swing into Key Auto and take a look around. Upon arrival I knew what kind of vehicle I wanted and had my price range and expectations in mind. Not only did Key Auto meet beyond my expectations, they presented me a vehicle that was overall better for me in comfort, travel and price. They drove me to their Portsmouth Chevy Dealership in order to test drive the vehicle, drove it back to the Somersworth location, went through credit approval process and found me the lowest financed price all under 2 hours. Also, during inspection they replaced the CV joint for the vehicle FREE of charge before allowing me to leave with it. After spending 3 hours at a previous dealership just to leave with nothing but a headache and prices I could not afford - my mind was blown with the professional service Key Auto provided. Quick, honest, more than willing to help and best of all they find what is best for you. Highly recommended to anyone and everyone. I never believed to purchase a vehicle from a dealership before and now I'll gladly eat my words with a smile. If I could vote 5 instead of 3 I would. Thanks again Key Auto Center!

I bought our Impala from James a little over a year ago. The car runs great. The service was phenomenal. The people at Key know their business and don't waste your time. They fit me with the perfect ride within 24 hours of me calling them initially for a car. The advise they offered was key in my decision to purchase from them. James is wonderful. Again I brought my car in on a saturday for a check engine light. Was told that they bent the connectors for the switch to see if it would work. Was told to give it a bit to see if that fixed it. I requested the part be replaced since it was under warranty. They told me to come back in on monday when the part arrived to get it fixed. When I got my car back on that Saturday it ran terrible. Was losing idle and stalling. So when I arrived on the monday I told them the car was running terrible since they touched it. Was told by the counter person that they didn't touch it at all. Only scanned it. After talking to the mechanic he told me that yes he was messing around with the connectors and that my battery had died while he was doing it and had to be jumped... Great communication here guys and also THANKS FOR NOT TELLING ME THE BATTERY DIED! Anyway so they brought my car in to get the warranty repair done. 15 minutes later told me the part wasn't there and wouldn't be in until Wednesday even though they told me monday. Ok. Very annoyed for wasting my time. So rescheduled for Wednesday Come Wednesday I actually had to cancel because I couldn't make it there. So I called and asked for a Saturday or monday appointment when I was not working and available. The woman told me that they couldn't do those days because the original mechanic who first messed up my car wasn't working that day. Angry at this point I was like . I don't care who works on it. I need a monday appointmen . 5 days from now. She finally reluctantly agreed. After all this I decided not to get the repair done there because after copay it was only saving me $50. And I didn't want to deal with them anymore I seriously despise the service department. It seems the mechanics have zero training. The counter people are extremely rude and in no way willing to help the customer. Now. My car has 500 miles left to the warranty....which btw I bought my car with 59666 miles. And bought a 60000 mile extended warranty which supposedly ends at 119000 miles. Explain that math to me please! Any way. I'm gonna need a repair within the next 500 miles so i need to call them. Wish me luck please!

Easy to drop off my car for inspection. But I got a call halfway through the day so they could ask me if I had taken my registration with me when I left. When I told them I didn't, they said "okay, that's all we needed to know." I did not receive a call later to let me know they had found it, so I got to wonder for the rest of the day if they did. Turns out, they had left my registration in another vehicle. I don't know if they looked through the vehicles they had been working on to find it, or if the owner of that vehicle found it and decided to return it. I would not trust this garage to do anything more with my car, if they can't keep track of a piece of paper during a routine inspection. I would not trust them to do any sort of repair on my vehicle. As a side note: I have also heard from friends that they overcharge for their services. They had more than just a state inspection though, and so I didn't personally experience this.

I have never had a better car buying experience. It started with my boyfriend Jared looking to trade in his car for a truck. While we were meeting with Wes Maynard about different trucks, I also mentioned I was thinking about trading my car in. He was more than willing to bring in any car/truck from the different Key Auto dealers for us to look at. Wes is such a friendly and kind person and very easy going. And most of all he GETS it. When we were looking at the various cars/trucks, he understood if there was something we didn't like about it, or if it was over our price range. He wasn't pushy at all like most car dealerships I've dealt with. They also went about and beyond when I decided to buy the 2011 Mazdaspeed3 when cleaning it and going through it in the shop. We went into Key after our car broke down on the side of the road that morning. My husband needed a vehicle asap and we also needed to make sure it was 4WD and had enough space for our growing family. Wes was very attentive and listened to everything we wanted before picking out a couple cars to take out for a test drive. We had a newborn with us and they made us feel so welcome and didn't mind taking one of us out at a time so the other could stay with the baby. When we finally agreed on a vehicle Marie happily volunteered to look after the baby so we could take the jeep out and discuss it in private. When we came back in and said yes to the jeep it took about an hour to have the paperwork and financing all set up. Our experience was excellent start to finish. We will certainly do business with them again!!!

We just recently, (today) purchased a car from the Somersworth store. Wes and Marie went out of their way to make this a positive experience for us. We had a car picked out, which was a different color than what we really would have like to have but, Wes happened to find one the day we were going to sign the papers in the exact color that we wanted! He even went so far as to drive it to my home so I could see the car and test drive it because I was home without a vehicle. I recently purchased a used 2012 Nissan Versa from Key Auto. The experience was great. The salesman, Tim Novakowski, found exactly the right car for my needs. My credit is not the greatest but Dave got me financing that I can afford. I bought the car on a Saturday, drove it for a week and then brought it back for official delivery the following Friday. Got a good cleaning. It was like I bought the car twice! There was a small crack in the windshield and Tim was very prompt in arranging for their glass guy to come to home and seal the crack off. All in all it was a very friendly, easy car buying experiencing. The only thing that stopped me from giving 5 stars is that it was a LONG process. I was at the dealership for about 6 total hours because they were short on managers that day. I highly recommend checking out Key Auto if you are looking for a car. Ask for Tim. Great guy!

Just purchased a car from Wes Maynard on Sunday May 10th 2015. We pretty much knew what we wanted, but he didn't know that. We were in the lot for maybe 10 minutes before Wes greeted us and asked if we wanted to get inside the car. We took it for a test drive, around the Rochester and Dover area before returning and Wes was awesome at giving us the info we wanted without trying to pressure us into anything we didn't want. In fact I don't remember him even trying to push us into anything other that what we came there wanting. I was very impressed with the overall experience not just from Wes, but from David the financing guy. He did everything he could do to make sure we got what we wanted within our budget. David got us an AWESOME trade in value which made it possible for us to purchase this vehicle. Wes was right there helping us along the entire way. Key Auto has a great kids area with toys and TV playing cartoons so my wife and I could get down to business. When we are in the market for another vehicle Key Auto will first dibs on our business.

I cannot recommend Key Auto of Somersworth enough! The entire experience working with the team there was fantastic! My salesperson was Chris, and he definitely was so very helpful! Made it easy to be a customer, answering questions and providing honest insight. In fact, Chris even helped me to consider that my first choice may not have been very realistic for me. He then helped me find a vehicle that I was very happy with, and that he felt was obtainable. I was so impressed by the atmosphere and the employees, that a trip to just get information turned into me leaving with a car. Speaking of the atmosphere, they are very casual and friendly. There was never any pressure at any time during the process. The whole dealership had a sense of professionalism without being oppressive or stuffy about it. I do wish I had gotten the other names of the gentlemen who helped with the process, but everyone expertly performed their roles and had top notch customer service. If you are looking to get into a car, this is a great place to be!

I went into key auto in March of 2019 stated the amount I wanted to pay monthly and amount I wanted to put down. Found a 2017 Chevy malibu I loved the car. I ended up having to put more then I wanted down and higher payments which I excepted. Exactly 1 week later my accelerator went had a rental for over 2 weeks mean while got no time from my 20 day plates. Not even 2 months later I started having issues with my sensors reading my front driver tire is low of air yet waa full n my back passenger tire went flat on me. Then when placing car in park dash lights up stating shift not parked I have to shake shifter to fall into gear. I have been to dealer 2x now n Christian has been great trying to help me out yet they want more money down to get me in a diff car. I have never been so upset to have invested my money into something that is falling apart. Now my floor carpet is coming out from door sides. I am now SOL due to this unless I have more money to put down. I am single mother n work hard all I want is what I pay for. I would never do this again.
