We bought an Outback from them in 2014 and it's okay, but we went back in August 2015 after receiving a flyer in the mail that indicated we'd won $5000 cash. We figured it might have been a racket, but hey, 5k is worth a shot, right? When we got there, some guy sat us down at a table, took down our personal information, and told us we didn't win. When we asked about the consolation prize listed on the flyer, he said they "ran out." Honestly, don't waste your time here. Go ANYWHERE else. Ed Reilly Subaru in Concord is infinitely better and way less skeevy.

Dear owner, before you tell me that this happened under the old ownership as you seem to do with all of your bad reviews including ones in the last month, understand that this happened at DAN OBRIAN SUBARU. Please be more upfront with your pricing. I talked with you guys on the phone and it was like I walked into a completely different dealership. Refused to the price that YOU EMAILED to me. We connected with Dan O'Brien Subaru on their website looking at inventory. I sent a chat message requesting some information about a car. Within a few minutes I had a phone call from a salesman inviting me to visit. We set up a time and met with Craig. He was great from the start. We needed 2 cars. One for our family and one for our teen driver. He found cars that fit our price range and requests on the lot and let us test drive both. I even had the opportunity to bring one of the cars home and pick up the teen driver so she could see it for herself. By the end of the day both of the cars were ours. Craig, Pete and the finance office all worked to help us get what we needed, keep costs where we wanted them and provide us with sound, reliable cars. I will definitely be returning to Dan O'Brien for service and for our next car needs.

If I could give them zero stars I would! Went in to change the lease vehicle to make a purchase and after putting money down was not delivered the car that was expected. When we changed our mind regarding the deal they refused to return the thousand dollars. We have now not only had to file a dispute with the credit card company but I have never been treated so poorly by a “customer service“ in my life! I cannot remember ever having to speak in such a tone to a sales person who refused to help at all. Instead, he wanted to read me the contract. Nice way to insult someone’s intelligence and have no integrity! Please stay far away!

I got a call from their finance department and they said I was pre-approved. I wasn’t planning to buy a car that day, I really just wanted some numbers to throw around in my head. I walked in and Ellen welcomed me instantly. She had me test drive a couple of cars and we had really great conversations. When we got down to business Craig and peter were super helpful and really understanding of my particularly situation and they tried hard to get me a good deal that was within my budget. Ellen, Craig and Peter all listened to me and my situation and really that meant a lot, they didn’t try to push me into a car that was out of my price range. After all I ended up signing for a car, Peggy was great she did a great job at explaining all the paper work and made the process easy!! After I got home Craig gave me a quick call just to say thank you!!! Everyone there was so nice!! Went here Thursday Feb. 28 for a vehicle. I first met with the 'Finance Mgr, Alex'....he was notified of our credit, income, etc. Wouldn't you think a 'Finance Mgr' would have some type of clue as to what the bank would/would not approve? Worked with Shauna, salesperson, who seemed to not know much, but stuck it out. Left after wasting 3 hours of our time. Then, we get a call Saturday March 2 from Craig, asking if we were still interested in the car and that he would work on it. Ok, here we go again................I waited 4 hours and called Craig and said nevermind, I am not going to have you continue to waste my time. I had another deal somewhere else, where I should have gone in the beginning.

Recently purchased a new vehicle from O’Brien in Claremont. I asked and they matched an offer from another local Subaru dealership and I bought that day. The car arrived quickly but was not what I had agreed to. A few things I did not ask for were included and a few that I wanted were missing. I challenged the missing items and was told I got what I ordered. Foolish me had nothing in writing. I emailed my detailed needs and a second excuse was given for not providing the missing items. No big bucks but the dealership chose to deny my request two times. I have removed the dealerships name from the vehicle and will move the future service requirements for my two Forester’s to another Subaru dealership the same distance away.

Consumer BEWARE this place is over priced all the way around shop any dealer other than this place!!!every car come marked up $2000 for a snake oil product of a paint and fabric protection plan that does not cover a thing and is a non name product when told that you don’t want it they will tell you they removed it from the deal and give it to you for free but all they did was bury it in the deal. Unable to get a reliable extended Subaru warranty or a reputable extended warranty!! Only one they offer is one that the upper manager has his hands in so he can approve or deny claims and they do not like to approve high dollar claims. As for employees they treat there employees with no respect they over book there schedule often backing the shop up by hours so when the owner starts to ask why used cars have yet to be through the shop the service manager will blame the techs and recon department for being slow....NOT THE CASE he has no clue how to run a shop in the least bit sit in his office 90% of the time intimidating his employees by watching them through a window or watching cameras he will be nice to some customers to there face and then flip them off as they walk out the door and call them names seen this happen many times within the past two years some of these customers are very good returning customers as well

Horrible experience. I ordered some accessories for my WRX STI and they arrived wrapped in shrink wrap and looking like a log. Their response was deal with FedEx if you have a problem with how it was delivered. If you need parts or accessories looks else were such as Heuberger or better yet see if your local dealer will price match their prices and avoid dealing with this dealer at all costs. EDIT: So seems that you're only willing to respond to things only when they're posted public instead of doing when contracted directly. So they been laying the garage in the New Mexico heat since I wrote this review. Still have a curl at the end near the pedals. Considering what happened with Toyota and their run away cars. I'd hope that you'd care more about your potential customers. Oh well I guess not. Again all shoppers he should look else were because the level of service drops to poor very quickly if you have any issues.

I bought a 2015 nissan rogue from subaru of Claremont before it switched owners and ive had the car for not even 3 months and I am told I am responsible for putting $1400 worth of work into it. I voiced my opinion several times before we drove the car off the lot that it needed new tires rotars and brakes all around and it never got done. I brought my car there 3 times for the same issue to find out that I was right all that does need to be done and should have been before i even purchased. They only replaced the front rotars and now they are not worn correctly so they are chipping and not wearing correctly because they were not all done together! I was told I should have never been sold the snow tires that came with the vehicle and because of that they are cupped. Not to mention the 1 time they changed the rotars in the front they scratched and chipped my rims where the lug nuts go from poor workmanship! I am very frustrated and not happy at all! Beware they are just out to make mobey!!

Getting the car initially wasn't a bad experience at all. But then I had to come back two different times because they forgot to have me sign single forms. Which was very inconvenient. Then when they inspected my car they put the wrong sticker on and when I tried to go back and have them change it they told me my car wasn't in good enough shape to be inspected and that it'd cost me over $600. I brought my car to another place and they inspected it just fine. All I can say about this place is I will absolutely never step foot in that building or associate with them ever again. I recommend anyone who reads this does the same. Not a good place to go to.

They run very dishonest promotional flyers in the mail. My grandmother received one claiming she won $5000. I double checked the flyer looking for the small print assuming it was a hoax. But sure enough there was nothing saying that it was towards a car or a vacation, just a cash prize. When she went in to claim the prize a salesman took her flyer and said she didn't win anything. When I called up the dealership to confront them on their shady business practices I was told they hire an outside company to do their marketing and flyers so they weren't responsible for the deceptive nature of them. If they're going to pull tricks like this I certainly wouldn't trust them with a car purchase.

Very bad experience at this dealer, they have advertisements on the radio about there "Express" service and no need to make an appointment. Took them over an hour and a half to do an oil change. I'm not sure if the guys in service are doing drugs or just plain lazy and incompetent but there's no reason an oil change should take that long. Better off going elsewhere for everything except recalls and warranty work!

This place is full of scam artists and crooks. My daughter and her husband got an advertisement in the mail with what looked like a lottery ticket on it, if your ticket matched the winning combination, you won the prize listed. Their flyer said they won $5,000.00 ! We were all very excited and showed up at the dealership to claim the prize. The idiots there gave my daughter a $5.00 Walmart gift card ! WORST ever experience in my life. For the first time in my life I felt so HUMILIATED , UNCOMFORTABLE and DISRESPECTED in such a professional institution. I’m already a owner of 3 cars but this dealership tried to make me sign a form stating “ after all the negotiations I am going to purchase a car on that day”.... This is for the first time in the history of purchasing a car any dealership had made me sign such ridiculous statement from me or I believe in human history. In addition to that, a manager came and introduces himself and told me that “ he wants us to sign that paper as a oath not to waste his and his employees time because they were too busy helping other costumers. This was a very serious statement made from such a responsible person of the company. Which made me felt not to do the business with him. After all I was a costumer too. Because of this experience, I had to leave the building without getting a car that I loved and had to get A Honda CR-V from Honda upper valley, who had best service .

I bought a used Subaru Forester back in November of 2018 and I started having an issue with it. Having many issues with other car dealerships and their service department in the past with them trying to charge you more than what needed to be done or telling you more than what needed to be done, I have to admit I was a little skeptical of how Dan O'Brien Subaru of Claremont was going to be. Even though I had a 100000 mile warranty I was still nervous! So I called and spoke with Jeff Grigg and he made all my worries go out the window!!! He assured me that they were different then other dealerships and to give them one chance to change my mind. I'm very glad I took his advice and went. Not only did they address my main issue they checked many other things they were very polite and professional! Still stressing a little as I was wait in that waiting room thinking in the back of my mind I was going to get a massive bill before I left, I went to the counter and I saw the continuous long list of things they did and checked on my vehicle and it was all for no charge! Plus they washed my dirty car before I hopped in it! I want to give a big shout-out to Jeff Grigg and the technician at service department for everything they did and making me change my mind about this dealership!!! I would recommend Jeff to everyone! THANKS SO MUCH FOR EVERYTHING!

I made an appointment to have my snow tires switched over to my summer tires for a Saturday. When I arrived I went in gave the service advisor my keys and walked next door for a coffee. As I was walking back I see my Impreza sti pulling out of the parking lot....thought it was weird but figured it was someone else's car until 10 minutes later saw it pull in from the highway and into the shop. The tech had NO business test driving my car without permission BEFORE the tire service was performed. After the service was performed would've been slightly more understandable but still not exceptable. I'm outraged that this dealer thought this was ok. The service advisor said they do it with every car but funny thing is, I had the same dealer do a nh safety and emissions inspection a month earlier and no test drive was done. THESE PEOPLE LIED TO ME!!! I hope that tech enjoyed his joyride I'll never return to this place not even for an oil filter. *Response* Date of joyride was 5/20/17 between 12:30 and 1pm. Im not with vehicle so I don't have the last 4 of my vin. You have my permission to look the vin up in your system. Thank you *update* I'm curious what your corrective action was with my issue??

Toward the end of the summer of 2016 we began looking within a short distance from where we live in Upstate NY for a pre-owned Subaru Outback. We found many offerings within the three states closest to us but found the best deal and best reviews at Subaru of Claremont; worthy of the 165 mile travel. Kim Beers was our sales representative and she was amazing, not at all a "users car salesman" at all. She helped us feel very relaxed about our decision process with no pressure at all, answered every question we had and for those she didn't know she spent the time to discover the answer. The purchase transaction went smoothly including the fact that since our credit union was financing the car, they held the car we wanted (for a very very small deposit) while we came back home to finalize the paperwork. We returned two weeks later to pick up the car; they had cleaned it up for us and it was ready to go. We have had our Subaru Outback from Subaru of Claremont now for almost 5 months with not one complaint about it. Part of that speaks to the quality of the care, but part of that also speaks to the ability of Subaru of Claremont to select the best pre-owned cars they can for resale. If you are looking for a pre-owned Subaru, you will find a good value at Subaru of Clarmont... just be sure to ask for Kim Beers. She's a great sales woman that will help you feel at ease about such a large purchase.

It started off rocky due to misinformation I received from an employee that I was emailing that didn’t even work at this location. However they took very good care of me after I relaxed a little. I was in and out in a record breaking time for car sales (I did tell them I was in a rush). I missed my appointment I had later that day but it was worth it. When other dealerships turned me down due to my bad credit and limited resources Dan O’Brien Subaru made it work and now I am the proud owner of a 2019 Subaru Impreza Premium. I had a recall done on my car. Although they took care of the recall they also gave me back my car with a radio that suddenly did not work anymore. I called and spoke with them about it and they were Great. They made an appointment for me to drop my car off plus take a rental while they fixed what they broke... lol... The service department is good, however... The company is not honest about how they use personal information. I had a service appointment. They requested that I give them my email address. I asked what it would be used for. They clearly stated that it would *only* be used to contact me about appointments for service and updates on those appointments if they needed to cancel or service was not completed on time. I made sure to then ask if it would ever be used for sales and marketing. They told me it would not. Ever since the change to Dan O'Brien from the previous name, they have been spamming me regularly. I have called three separate times to have them stop. They tell me to click a link in the spam in order to unsubscribe. I tell them that it is horrible practice to click on links in email, especially since they have already made clear that they do not seem to have any control over the email system they use. How can they guarantee it is not a link to malware or an otherwise compromised site? They have told me they would stop. They have not stopped. It has been months since my first complaint. I blocked the first address they were sending from as that is a safe action to take, unlike clicking links. Now they send from other addresses. This problem continues. UPDATE: They have recently started calling my cell phone with advertising as well.

I bought a front grill from this dealer through their Ebay store "subaru_parts_hq" & specified Jasmine Green color but they sent a black one. I tried to communicate to the seller to solve the problem which they were capable of doing but decided to not respond & ignore me. I finally have to file a claim with Paypal & they decided in favor of me with a full refund. If it's not significantly lower priced, I suggest going to another Subaru parts store/dealer to avoid the hassle. You will possibly get better customer service too.

I've never had a satisfactory experience here. Been to this dealership with a car purchase in mind about four times. The sales manager I spoke to each time was rude and arrogant. Trade-values offered are also pathetically low, even most of the local Subaru dealers will offer more on your trade. I feel sorry for those who purchase their vehicles from here -- especially with a trade -- you've lost out on some savings. TLDR; Buyer beware -- you may be attacked with arrogance, and will be under-paid for your trade. Go to Keene or Brattleboro instead.

HORRIBLE EXPERIENCE PERIOD! When I walked into this dealership I SAW FIRST HAND ALL THE DISAPPOINTED PEOPLE WHO ALSO WAS LEAD TO BELIEVE THE SAME AS I ! What's so rotten about this kind of advertisement is the lies that lie behind it but what's worse is the employees who stand behind the advertisement knowing firsthand that this was a scam and a hoax and it would just lead people in and to just disappoint them period! SHAME ON EVERYONE WHO WORKS FOR SUCH an establishment knowing This is how they (Roll) with the public!! We had a worrying noise come from our front wheel well while driving down Mt Ascutney and stopped here before making the 2 hour drive home. Turned out to be a bent piece of metal rubbing. They saw the problem and fixed it within an hour on a Friday and washed the dusty car as well. This helped end our vacation on a high note instead of a nervous drive.

This is the worst dealer in the area for sales and service. This review is based on multiple experiences with them. I went one time and they didn't even have knowledge of the vehicles on their lot. Another time I went was to repair an issue they caused when they were doing regular service on my subaru. They refused to pay for the damage they caused and acted like it wasn't their fault.
