This Car Concessionaire is classified in the category of Auto repair shop.
We were very happy with the service at American Auto. The day before taking our daughter to UNR, the air conditioner died. Local shop in NE Nevada quoted $1100 for new compressor. American Auto worked with my daughter's schedule, providing transportation to and from UNR. American Auto assessed the situation and determined it was a faulty switch. Customer service was great. Will not hesitate to use this shop again if we experience car problems in the future.
My girlfriend and I are from New York and we bought an RV for Burningman. When we got to it, we realize we need some connection for mechanic to tune the engine and have emission test done for DMV. Not knowing anyone, we called several places and by intuition and feel of professional approach I decided to go with American Auto Air. They were fast, professional and very fair. The RV failed the first emission test as expected, so they tuned it and it passed. It took about and 1 1/2 hour, they charged me $95.90 I did tip the mechanic, he was very nice and knowledgable. The owner was accurate on estimate cost. I left happy and will come again. Thank you guys!
Went to this establishment about 21 years ago when my a/c wasn't working in my Suburban. Nothing was wrong except a mouse had made a house and blocked the vents with car insulation! Very honest about the issue and didn't charge me for something I didn't need. I recently had to bring my daughter's car in as her a/c had been not working properly for a few years. They diagnosed and fixed a problem that was misdiagnosed at 2 other repair shops (in Oregon) and now her car is nice & cool. I absolutely recommend this company for their great work and fair, honest prices!
I know my car was well servisef by Shane Acker.
Great service with reasonable prices
Very happy to have found them when my AC went out while travelling through Reno. They used quality parts and explained the issue clearly and understandable. The price is what I would have expected. Plus the extra of them knowing what they are doing is well worth it. Thank you.
Great they fixed my air conditioner by replacing my condenser and also put a new serpantine belt all in one day like they said they would with great service. They were booked solid but made time for me. I am totally satisfied Great customer service.
Very nice people and I didnt feel like they lied or over charged. My new favorite place!
We needed a new a/c compressor in my wife's 70 Camaro during Hot August Nights. They said they were booked up until the middle of the following week, but we needed it by Sun. (This was Wed.) Tom, the owner listened to our story and finally said he'd have it done by Fri. The next day he called and said it was finished. They went over and above what they had to do, and they did a great job. It works better now than it has in years. We highly recommend American Auto Air.
Friendly staff that stand behind the work done. Always a good place to get descent price.
Very good service and price for your auto work. But the waiting room is to small other then that very happy with the work.
The staff is amazing they took my car in to their shop right at 8:00 AM.
This will be the only repair shop I will take my car to from now on. The service and all the people working there are just awesome! I cannot thank them enough! God bless you all....
Was a pleasant experience fixed and on my way in about 1 hour thanks!!
I went to American Auto air thinking they would give me a good price on fixing my heater core they charged me $2300 which I thought was average but when I had to get something else fixed at another shop I found out they charged me $850 dollars more than this other shop would have charged me I’m very disappointed I’ll never trust or recommend this shop again.
They do ALL repairs and I wouldn't take my cars to anyone else. They are honest and very good at what they do.
Omg they are amazing!! They were very friendly. They knew I was sitting waiting and offered to give me a ride.
Total pros love these people.
Great place to take your car. I had an air conditioning issue and they were able to diagnose and fix it the same day. Great service and pricing beats everyone else.
Excelkent service every day any time
Completely satisfied of the work they have done on my AC. VERY competent. Trust them, they know there business.
Best receptionist ever ! Great service and knowledge!
My husband put the serpentine belt on wrong. But of course he would not admit it and wanted them to just do the work and replace everything, without a diagnostic. I had them do a diagnostic and they caught it very quickly and fixed it and we were out the door. Great service and wonderful to deal with.
The owner is a real nice guy that will go out of his way to help you. They know auto A/C repair as well as everything else. Complete bumper to bumper repair shop.
The service really wasn't that good.
They are experts when it comes to A/C issues. And they do pretty good repair work, too. Their location is not the easiest to get to but I consider them to be my ace in the hole.
Has a cooling system leak. They identified the bad component in a matter of minutes (heater control valve) and the owner (Tom Rankin) gave me a quote. The fix was done in under two hours - while I waited - and the bill came in $11 UNDER Tom's quote. Can't ask for much more than that!
Timely n good work. Stand behind their jobs. Free coffee, n bottles water , snacks
Everyone is competent and friendly...good coffee too!
Fast, competent service, fair pricing.
Super helpful and nice staff. They always seem to be having a good day. Bought a car from them and then got cruise control installed through them, and I couldn't be happier with their service.
Good place to take your car
Went to have my AC system purged of an old refrigerant, and after about 15 min, the mechanic returns to me and says he can't charge me for the service because it was already empty. He could have easily gouged me $20 and did not.
I brought my car here after taking it to another shop to fix the broken heater. The other shop quoted me $1,200. I thought that was outrageous, so I brought it to American Auto Air. They fixed the problem and charged me $700 less then the other place quoted. These guys seem honest and reasonable.
DO NOT BRING YOUR AUTO HERE. I came in to get a new condenser and relay (under $200 parts) and they quoted me $800. I told them to go ahead anyway because it is a hassle. I brought it in on a Friday with the assurance I would have my car back by the end of the day. I get a call later sayings that the imbisols broke my radiator and would have to be replaced and the new condenser had a "faulty weld" and they couldn't do it till Monday. (I drive for Uber on the weekends so this is costing $100's more.) Then Monday I get a call saying that my evaporater sensor is faulty and it would cost another $800. Didn't even fix the $20 sensor for my trouble. Those clowns are the worst. Just crooks with stupid patches on their shirts. "They make customers for life" because you have to bring you're car back to get fixed every year.
Expensive, but not shady at all. These gentlemen know their work
Didn't do the worked ask of them the first time and had to pay a second time to get it done right. Avoid these crooks at all costs.
The first person I talked to was polite and respectful and answered a few questions about my vehicle. When I called a second time to possibly set up a appointment the second guy I spoke to was rude and I didn't appreciate it. Called this place on a recommendation and because the second person I talked to was rude I am going somewhere else where my business will be appreciated. Maybe they need to teach customer service skills to the employees especially on how to talk to people on the phone.
I would not recommend this place to anyone. They employ a man named John Goode. Well he showed up at my house on 6/28/18 and tried to intimidate me for his girlfriend, who ironically is my exes sister.. Hes not a good guy and if hes employed by this place, i can imagine they are no good either. Boooooooo you suck.
My automobile air conditioning had stopped working. A friend recommended American Auto Air. A $60 diagnosis was required before any work. The diagnosis on my vehicle was that the compressor was leaking fluid and needed to be replaced. The estimate for the service was approximately $1,000. Before I proceeded with the repair I bought a refrigerant re-charge kit at the local Wal-mart for approximately $20 and followed the directions. It worked perfectly, suggesting that the repair was not necessary.
I live an hour’s drive from Reno in Graeagle, California. A local auto repair shop in my area diagnosed the problem in my 2009 Honda Odyssey as a defective A/C compressor. I called Tom at American Auto Air to make an appointment, and I told him about that diagnosis. He said they would do their own diagnosis when I came in for my appointment, and he cautioned me that if there was mechanical damage inside the compressor, there could be metal particles in the system that would be very expensive to remove, but also said it was unlikely that would be the case. I showed up for my appointment fully expecting to pay $950 for replacing the compressor and sat down to wait for the work to be done. About 90 minutes later, Tom came to the waiting room to tell me the work was finished and the van did not need a new compressor, just a new relay. The bill was $175. My experience at American Auto Air speaks volumes about the integrity of this shop.
American Auto Air and repair is the only place to go!!! I went without air conditioning for a few years because I was told by a place that I trusted with the care of my car, that it would cost me over a $1,000 to be fixed. I was told that the whole thing had to be replaced. Enough was enough so I took it to American Auto Air And Repair and Boom this girl has air now! It cost less than$1,000 and did not need the whole unit replaced. The service I received from American auto air and repair was Excellent and over the top customer service!! They are honest, friendly and they get you in and out. With there over the top service, I am willing to drive from Carson city to get the care my car needs:) Thank you so much for your service!! You guys Rock!! So does Melissa:):)
I am restoring an 1994 Chevy truck. A car fanatic friend recommended American Auto Air. They repaired, recharged the air conditioner and put infrared dye in with the Freon (to id leaks, an older truck may leak again) for $145. Lucky for me it was an easy repair. The near by chain oil change place wanted $159 just for a Freon recharge that would have leaked out. My wife's Subaru had lots of leaks in labor intensive places and cost $442, ouch. If I had wanted to to some or all of the work they would have given me a print out of the work needed but there would have been a charge. I found American Auto Air to be professional, curtious and prompt. They cautioned me that when it is hot it may take a week or so to get in.
