I was looking for a Volvo XC70 with low miles. I found exactly what I was looking for online, but it was 500 miles away. When I called for information, Jim Carpenter took the time to answer all of my questions. He told me about the history of the car and even went through the service records with me over the phone. After about the third call, Jim went out and personally inspected the car for me while I was on the phone. My faith in Jim was rewarded when the car arrived and was in perfect condition just as Jim had told me. Jim was excellent with communication during the transport and delivery process. Everything went just as he described. I couldn't be happier with my purchase. Rob

BLUF: Get a new internet sales manager, or rethink internet sales. Used TrueCar to find Volvo dealers in the area with the XC90 plug in hybrid. Once I submit the quote request through TrueCar, it came back with the general response, and dealers in the area who would contact me with a quote on XC90. West County Volvo sent a automated response, and the next day the Internet Sales Manager emailed me asking me if a different model year was ok, and when can i come to the dealership to test drive. I replied to the internet sales manager that I would just like a quote for the best price they can offer on the XC90, and that I am shopping around. I do this everytime I purchase a vehicle, and it is the best option for my busy schedule. Internet sales manager came back with "No, thanks" No quote, and the justification he gave was if I want to shop for a luxury car like I am shopping on amazon to go somewhere else. How is that good business? Why does an internet sales team exist for a dealership if they can't provide quotes through email? Their job is completely irrelevant if all they do is ask when you can come to the dealership. I can check the sites inventory and come in without speaking to an internet sales manager if that was what I wanted. West County Volvo needs to rethink this internet policy or teach the internet sales manager better customer service skills.

Good service. Very accurate estimate on my wait time.

I didn't buy from here because Brentwood Volvo was priced $3000 less on the XC90. I thougt I'd give service here a try once I got my new Volvo- what a terrible experience. Not at all what I'd expect from a luxury car dealer. Bob from service was rude and they didn't solve my problems. Back to Brentwood Volvo where they are helpful and friendly. Thumbs down!

Purchased my first Volvo from WC Volvo and worked with Ken Levine. I had an absolutely amazing experience there, both with Ken and WC Volvo in general. Ken went above and beyond and got me exactly what I was looking for. It will be really difficult to go anywhere else, and to own any other vehicle after my incredible experience there. Thank you!

I'm very discouraged by the lack of customer service my husband and I received. We recently purchased a used car (1 month ago). We understand it is used and can come with issues. However, when the car is given an overall 100+ inspection check (or so we were told) and we have been to the mechanic twice since we bought the car, that is unacceptable. Not to mention we paid over $1,300 in mechanic fees thus far (my husband is at another mechanic at the moment, so who knows what that bill will be). My husband works freelance and in less than 1 month has lots jobs because he has been without his car for 3+ days. Time is money, as they say. Time and time again we were told there was nothing they could do. So I thought I would just give a plug that if you purchase a used car, there is nothing to say their 100+ inspection is accurate and they do not in the least try to make accommodations. They wouldn't come down on the car price at all and said at the time of purchase that they would "hook us up with deals" in the future. Well, the future came less than a month later, but don't seem to remember to keep their promises. They seemed to only make sure the check cleared. My husband is trying to travel for work this weekend and can't get out of STL because of car trouble yet again this month. My recommendation was to the staff was to have a more thorough check on their used cars and also tell the salespeople to remind customers they can get an independent check on the car from their mechanic (we were not informed, nor did we know since this is our first time buying a car). But alas, we are stuck with a car that has cost us more time and money than we planned to since we purchased just one month ago. Just wanted to give a fore warning to those considering purchasing a used car from here--DON'T.

Thanks to Tom, I have finally found my forever Volvo home! He is professional, incredibly knowledgeable, and understands what a person wants and needs! I have never had a experience at dealership quite like this one. West County is lucky to have him, and Volvo should appreciate having someone like him selling their brand! Thank you, Tom!

This is our third purchase with Tom and more than likely not our last. Tom and the staff of Suntrup are exceptional in ensuring the CONSUMER is getting what they want and backs up the purchase with an exceptional Volvo service department. Very knowledgable, patient not pushy, respectful, friendly, treats us as individuals not just another sale. Tom makes purchasing a car "FUN". Keep doing what your doing Tom...it works!

Volvo désigned and globally deployed an unmatched luxury sedan- S90 available in Inscription and Momentum models. North American markets are quickly learning about the profound engineering, performance, and lux values inherent in this Swedish marvel. German competitors are yet to react, let alone stumped as to rival with an alternative. Forward looking- Volvo continues their unmatched innovation which keeps the Germans rooted in Berlin and Munich whilst Gothenburg explodes with the S90 as the premier luxury sedan and trends-set it as a leader in it's hypo-fashion line up, inclusive of the XC90, V90 and the forthcoming debut in North America of the XC60. Patiently waiting for the urban chic- V40 to make downtown a driving mecca. Try and find another sound system that boosts Swedish electric music as Bowers & Wilkins. Volvo's partnership with the UK leader in acoustics, transforms the cabin of the S90 back to Sweden. Tune into the Goteborg Concert Hall for instrumental magic, and amongst an array of Swedish couture, simplicity hallmarked by native, linear walnut trim- divine by nature, garnished with Sweden's epic Flag. Adaptive Cruise and Pilot Assist functionality parlay Volvo's safety functionality to another level. Safely creative is a strength, which Volvo has incorporated into its technology without surrendering its historical pedigree. Advancing leadership in this field will bode well for Volvo's continued reputation of dominance. Importantly, dedication and passion for Sweden, Swedish culture, heritage, and Volvo's automotive advancements is championed at West County Volvo and by Tom Calkins. Service, knowledge, and customer first expertise is the foundation for long-term client relationships with the professionals at West County Volvo. The Saint Louis market is one, if not the only US market, with a representative of West County Volvo, Tom Calkins, who has studied, perfected an expertise, and pioneered growth for Volvo Sverige in North America. Tack och Grattis Tom Calkins, West County Volvo, och Sverige!

My husband and I were in the market for a Honda Pilot. West County Volvo had one that we were interested in. Before even looking at the vehicle we met with Tom in Sales and explained our situation in detail (credit challenges). We even provided him our credit scores, the fact that we were trying to stay around $1,000 down to start out and asked if it was possible to make the deal work or if we were just wasting our time. We were assured that he would be able to make it work. We left with the promise that Tom would run everything first thing in the morning and give us a call. The next day (Friday), after numerous follow up calls to Tom, he said that he was not able to make the deal work. We then went and found our own financing that night. Saturday morning we called Tom and let him know that we had secured our own financing and that we would be providing a down payment of $2400 between cash and trade in. We emailed him the loan documents (he confirmed he received them) and asked that he have everything ready for me to come pick the car up on Monday evening. Monday at 4:50 pm I received a call from Tom asking about the loan that we had secured. It was obvious that he hadn't bothered to do anything with it until then. When I arrived at the dealership, again it was obvious he had done nothing. After making me sit and wait he ran around helping other customers and finally got the loan company on the phone. He went back to someone's office to speak with them. When he came back, he stated that they were not able to give me the vehicle until they sent the paperwork to the loan company and they sent a check back. I mentioned that when we bought my husband's car at Bommarito we had the same type of draft check with Capital One and did not have any issues using it. He stated that Capital One is a larger, reputable lender but that I was using one they hadn't dealt with often. He promised they would overnight everything the following day and that as soon as the check was received and cashed they would release the Pilot to me. The following afternoon (Tuesday), I called to make sure the documents were being over-nighted. Tom was out of the office of course. I spoke with Ken instead. He promised to check and call me back. When he called back an hour later he stated they were not going to accept the loan. I asked for an explanation and he stated that because the loan company charged the dealer a fee and required them to do paperwork with them and become a (gasp) provider for them, they didn't want to do that. He stated the lender was predatory and they didn't want to do business with them and did not want the business they would bring. In other words, they don't want low class people in their dealership. Ken offered to work some numbers since we were able to put more down and said that he would call us back. Of course, he did not. We continued on our search and on Wednesday were able to secure a loan with Capital One. My husband called and spoke with Tom and let him know we had financing through Capital One. He provided the loan amount, the down payment amount and the interest rate (9.4% on a 48 month loan). Tom told him that was great and to come in the next day (Thursday). After arriving at the dealership, again got the run around and they stated they wouldn't accept the Capital One loan either because they also charged fees and were also a "predatory" lender. They told my husband that they had a friend that worked at a bank and ran my husband's credit AGAIN and came up with a "great offer" with 22.95% interest on a 54 month term. When asked why anybody in their right mind would take that deal when they had a much better offer in their hands, he was told that they wouldn't be told who they had to use for financing. Funny how days ago they were unable to finance the deal and then suddenly their "friend" comes up with a "great offer". Wonder how much the friend's bank and they were making on the back end of that deal!! Needless to say, we did not buy a car from them.

Absolute best service. One whose values are competence and integrity will like West County Volvo. Service Advisor Bob will kindly help you, and Service Director Dan will manage the shop for your benefit.

Highly Recommended Dealer! After a month of searching across the nation for exactly what I wanted at the fairest price, I'm glad I came across the CPO listing at West County Volvo. From my first email inquiry to delivery, Dan Suntrup was a true pleasure to deal with. Buying a car can be stressful - buying a car from 400 miles away is even worse, but Dan’s personal attention made me feel like I was his only customer and that he also had my best interests in mind (understanding it’s still a business and they have to make money too). I am very particular about my cars and big on transparent communication, so I flew into St. Louis with very high expectations - Dan & West County Volvo didn't disappoint. He was quick to answer all of my many questions/concerns in great detail before I arrived, he picked me up from the airport, and he was very accommodating of all my particular demands before I would finally agree to make the purchase. I’ve bought many cars over the years and dealt with buyer’s remorse on more than one occasion. Thankfully, this was not the case with West County Volvo - I drove off the lot feeling like I was offered a fantastic car at an extremely competitive/fair price and each day I get into the car confident that I made the right purchase decision.

Kristine Cagwin

We worked with Ken Levine on the purchase of our first Volvo. He was knowledgeable, patient and honest. Ken got us exactly the car we wanted for the price we wanted and went above and beyond to make sure we were taken care of. We had our three children with us and he went out of his way to interact with them and make sure they were having fun with the process. I would highly recommend purchasing from West County Volvo with Ken Levine.

Senthil Ramasamy

I bought my first used car from here and the service was great.

Hey Quentin Johnson the place OPENS AT 7:30 you jackass. It is idiots like you that think you should get a red carpet and be able to bend the rules. Grow up you puke. It is good they lost a retard like you for a customer.

Had a great experience with my Volvo Consultant Mr Fitzpatrick. He did a great job helping us find a car that meets our need and price structure. He was helpful but did not push anything on us. Very good experience in a world of bad experiences.

DO NOT PURCHASE A VEHICLE FROM SUNTRUP WEST COUNTY VOLVO. Extremely disappointed in my dealings with west county Volvo after purchasing my 2016 XC90 just two months ago. My car has needed to be serviced now for the 4th time because of yet another issue and I do not have the car back after dropping it off yesterday. The car has already needed two new batteries, o2 sensor etc. The car has continued to die numerous times; I have no clue how they were able to classify the car as “sellable”. Bad experience from the front of house to the service department. The inconvenience they have caused my family and I do not wish upon anyone. After purchasing the vehicle through my salesman Jim Portner (which has done nothing to rectify or acknowledge the cars issues) the finance manager Mat was less than knowledgeable and called me a week after I purchased the vehicle and stated I owed him an additional $1000.00 because he miscounted the cash I put down. Then he needed me to bring in a check for the last payment of my trade in because he had it sent to me instead of to the dealership; mistake after mistake. Dan the service manager was horrendous to deal with because of his lack of courteous customer service and sarcastic nature. After he called to leave me a message and tell me that I needed to bring the loaner/ sales car back in that was loaned to me yesterday while mine was being worked on they needed to swap it for a different loaner vehicle, while inconveniencing me to drive 30 minutes one way to the dealership to do so, meanwhile arriving he did not have a vehicle ready for me; I waited for the vehicle to be filled with fuel; the vehicle arrives dirty with pretzels and sticky remnants on the seat. Needless to say I was late for my son’s parent teacher conference all because I was inconvenienced yet again when they should have had a car delivered to me to swap out instead telling me to come in and drop it off if they made the mistake of giving me that vehicle in the first place. I let Dan know I would be writing a review and he said “I can’t wait”. Unreal to deal with. Meanwhile I’ll be waiting for my car to be fixed and if history repeats itself with this car; it will be approximately 2 and a half weeks before another issue arises with this car that I’ve had for just over 2 months. Which has been in the shop with issues more than a total of a week and a half, not to mention the countless hours I have sat in their less than standard waiting room. Do not buy your vehicle from SUNTRUP West County Volvo.

I was in the market for the new Volvo XC90 and had no luck finding one with the features I wanted and for the price I could afford where I live. I found one online at WC Volvo and submitted an inquiry and received a response back from Ken on the same day. Ken was always very responsive and answered all my questions whenever I called or emailed; and after finalizing the sale, Ken even agreed to come pick us up at our hotel on a Sunday and spent time going over all of the features of the vehicle and answering any additional questions. He treated us like any regular customer during normal business hours, and did not appear to be put out or inconvenienced in the least bit. I felt like a VIP with the personalized treatment Ken provided and for that alone, I will always buy my cars from Ken no matter where he's selling them!

This review is based on the behavior and poor customer service of the guys in service. The worker Bob is outrageously rude. I’ve brought my vehicle here for service several times, I usually have an appointment or call ahead. I called ahead, spoke with Bob who told me to bring the car in. When I arrived at the counter, I said hello to Bob and told him I was the person who called a short time ago. He looked at my car from his desk, and then got up from his seat with no mention to me of registering me or what would happen next. He disappeared into the back of the store. I waited at the desk almost 10 min not being helped. The rep Harris was busy with someone else. Bob came back to his desk while I was standing there, with my car key still in my hand and totally ignored me. Sometime later Harris asked me if Bob was taking care of me - I shrugged and said I don’t know. Harris proceeded to register me but I could tell he was only doing it because he realized that Bob had totally dropped the ball. This has happened to me before when another worker claimed to order a part for my car, I called about it two days later the same man told me the part was in. I dropped by the shop on my lunch break after calling ahead, only to find out from Harris that his coworker never ordered the part at all. I guess he lied and didn’t want to help me as I showed up in person previously after calling ahead. Harris ended up ordering the part and I had to wait another 2-3 days to come back for it. Whether it’s ignorance, bad manners or bias, the behavior I’ve experienced of these men was plain unprofessional and unacceptable. Without going into more detail , I noticed that Bob and the workers do not treat all customers the same. And I am a female witnessing this. It’s unfortunate because all of the customers are coming in to have a Volvo fixed , it shouldn’t matter our age, gender or race / ethnicity. The leadership in this office must not care how workers treat people and they should give Harris a promotion because he tries to pick up the slack of his rude and lazy coworkers. Volvo should know some of the workers here are not suited to represent their brand which is a global luxury brand of reliability and class. If they’re so unhappy serving various customers they should work at a body shop in the boot hills of Missouri where this behavior may be acceptable. Note - all of the awards in the world don’t substitute treating customers poorly. If you’ve treated one customer badly, that is one too many.

Tom and the sales / finance staff have always been superb here. They're great to work with and very knowledgable about the cars they sell. Sales department gets 4.5 stars - I would give 5 but they really don't like to deal on special order cars like mine. The service center at West County is a bit worn down & tired looking, and compared to other premium brands, lacking in amenities for cars that cost upwards of $60K.

Shannon Knight

I worked with Dan. He was very friendly and helpful with all my questions.

Lindsey McCoy

My husband and I have bought several cars from Tom at West County Volvo. It has been a great experience not only when purchasing the vehicles, but also when we bring them in for service. When we purchase our next Volvo it will be from West County Volvo.

Adam Huynh

Drove all the way up here to purchase a preowned vehicle and ended getting a good deal. The sales reps are very friendly. Edited: My temporary tags are about to expire and haven't heard back regarding the status of my title...

Bruce Tamanaha

We were meet promptly, Tim worked well with us and provided the answers for us to make a great decision. Helped us get our phones connected to the car and we were good to go. We had a great deal.

I have been buying cars for over 40 years, and the experience that I had with West County Volvo in general and our salesman Tom Calkins in particular was the best that I have EVER experienced. I believe that Tom was the #2 salesman in the nation last year, and I can see why. He is super knowledgeable about the cars he sells, including the intricacies of the various tech/option packages that Volvo offers, he goes out of his way to make you feel comfortable along the way, and he worked with me and his front office until I was able to get the pricing that I wanted. Matt their business manager was also great to deal with, and the car was in perfect condition with a full tank of gas, of course, when delivered thanks to their top notch service staff. Tom even had a big red bow on the car when he handed over the keys much to my wife's surprise. I would give West County Volvo and Tom and his team my highest recommendation.

Richard Bergstrom

Harris Thomas greeted me promptly with a smile as I entered the service entrance bay. I told him what I wanted to be done and he repeated it back to me word-for-word, so we knew we communicated correctly. What a wonderful thing to do!

Doug S

Kind, courtious and helpful. Could not recommend more highly.

Lawrence Feigenbaum

Tom Calkins and West County Volvo made my car buying experience a terrific one. Tom was friendly, informative, and wanted to ensure the entire process went smoothly. His exceptional customer service extended beyond the Volvo car lot. If you are looking to purchase a Volvo, I strongly recommend you meet with Tom Calkins at West County Volvo.

Collin Garrity

Forget what you know of car salesmen. The team here was kind, helpful, patient, knowledgeable and even fun. I literally bought the cheapest used Volvo they had, and they treated me like someone buying a new luxury model. I'd give the experience 6 stars if I could.

Jeffrey Cao

I talked with Ken Levine in Feb for my car purchase. He is a great guy and truly went out of his way to help resolving the issues. Overall the purchase was good experience.

James Kamau

This is the worst delership of the year at parts department... i have visted here several times i wish could change things i would change the guy who was working on tuesday and today friday..

Tim L

I had a wonderful experience buying a certified per-owned Volvo. Very helpful staff and they were more than willing to work with me on a price. If you're looking for a new or pre-owned vehicle, this is the place to get a great deal.

Mark Domyan

Can't wait until I get a new car so I don't have to come back here to service the car. Unprofessional and wait forever.

Brent Gallagher

Called ... rep didnt want to schedule a test drive.. makes my decision easier :)

Casey Hanford

Had a great used car buying experience with Jim Portner. Valued my trade in fairly and helped me and my wife find the perfect replacement. Negotiations went smoothly and we had no worries driving off the lot in our new (to us) MKZ.

MARYAM RAGHEED

They are the worst worst dealership they cheated me they sold me camry 2012 hybrid and the sales person name Tom calkins as a clean Carfax and without accident , I bought the car after I saw it in there website and I didn't see the car because I am in another state , I trusted there word because they are VOLVO dealership , I received the car in miserable paint condition I pulled the autocheck report and I shocked when I saw there is accident in the car when it was in there dealership and they didn't update the Carfax they are liars , I called them and I asked them to return back this car or make any discount they refused and they told to go and hit my head in the wall

S Nichols

We found a certified used Volvo we were interested in on the web and contacted Dan Suntrup for information. He was helpful, responsive and honest in answering our questions and we ended up traveling 300 miles to meet with Dan, test drive the car and complete the purchase. It was probably our best car buying experience in the past 50 years. Dan continues to be helpful and responsive even though we live 300 miles from his dealership. Thanks, Dan

Matthew Tucker

Easiest and most efficient car buying experience I've ever had. See Tom he's great!

G Knapp

low pressure but very knowledgeable salesman

Mike Weinberg

Let me set the stage appropriately: I'm a car nut and a sales coach. So I'm very picky about how car dealers operate. Just bought (leased) a brand-new S90 from Tom Calkins. There's a reason he's the top guy in the country. He's fun, knowledgable, an expert, proactive and always on the move. I have bought A LOT of cars and my experience was so good with both the sales and service (and the car - a 2012 S60 T6) from West County Volvo that I came back to do it again. That's the first time in my life I've been a repeat customer at a car dealer. Everyone at this dealership is top-drawer - Steve, the sales manager, Matt and Ken in the finance office, and as previously stated, Tom Calkins is the best there is. I cannot recommend this place and these guy highly enough. Mike Weinberg

Great selection of cars

Tim Latham

Salesman was professional and didn't try to jerk me around. Worked the deal over the phone & by email, so thorough communications were required as I saw the vehicle online and was flying in from another state just to buy this car.

Kyle French

Went for a test drive, salesmen weren't very interested in helping. Plus they made zero effort to honor their 50$ test drive gift card offer.

Christopher Zawicki

Love the car I got but the salesperson I worked with was very dishonest. Just told me what I wanted to hear. Ended up needing brakes 1 week after buying the car. My local Volvo dealer was appalled that a Volvo dealer sold me the car with the brakes in that condition. Tried speaking to the manager about it but never got a reply to my email. Spoke to the used sales manager and he wasn't interested in anything I had to say about the salesperson but he did rectify the brake problem. If you're interested in purchasing a Volvo, I'd shop elsewhere. Also, the salesperson I spoke with assured me they would be able to handle the out-of-state taxes... They couldn't. Just another lie to get me to buy the car. Ended up needing to shell out $1700 when I got back to Illinois. Tried reaching out to the dealership principle but he's heavily guarded by staff so no luck there. Will update my review if the dealership shows any interest in the dishonesty of the salesperson.

To reply to that guy that said they wouldn't help him at 7:25am, obviously if they are closed and the machines aren't yet turned on they can't help you. The doors aren't even opened until 7:30am so I don't understand how you even got in the building unless they opened early, but it sounds like they did not open early so you must have snuck in somehow. It's ridiculous of you to leave a bad review because you came in before they were open and they could not help you. I've had nothing but great experiences with their service department and would recommend them to others. UPDATE: I looked up this guy, turns out he is a salesman at a different dealership in St. Louis... Seems like he should know how service departments work.. lol

Jessica Egli

UPDATE: I took my vehicle in for service and in the AM my boyfriend took the time to call and confirm the appointment and VERIFY that I would have a loaner car. Guess what? I got to the service department and they didn't have any loaner cars so they called Hertz (rental car company) and they picked me up - took me to their office - made me give them a credit card to put a hold on it in case of damages and let me know I would be responsible for refilling the tank. I explained the Volvo should take care of all of this and they said no. OKAY whatever. . . . I had to have a car with electronic seat adjusters since I"m 4'10 and they only had 1 car available and it had JUST arrived. I was in a hurry to get to a dr's appointment so I told them not to worry about cleaning it and I'd just drive off. So, I wasn't in a Volvo - I was in a Chevrolet - and the company lied to my boyfriend. THEN when I went to pickup my car they just handed me a sheet and then pulled my vehicle up. I was expecting them to go over everything they did, what I'll need in the future and answer my questions regarding tires. NOPE - heres your car. . . . What? HELLO - It's called customer service! I am on a quest for a good Volvo dealership in St. Louis! |||||||||||||| BEFORE: After moving here from Texas I was looking for the same A+ service I was used to receiving. The receptionist was accommodating and I wasn't put on hold for very long which was nice but then I talked to service and learned something. I had asked for a reminder call or something and they said "we don't do that here." --Weird! -- So I set up my appointment but they didn't ask for my name, my phone number, my email or even my VIN. My last dealership would call, text and email me to remind me and it wasn't overwhelming, just informative. I always felt important and that they *needed* my business. I guess since I only have 2 options dealerships here don't feel the need to go above and beyond for their customers. Since I don't really have any other options I"m going to service here but I miss my TX dealership already.

Juanita Mohrmann

First class...the best car and service center!

Abbas Adams

I drove 4 hours to the dealership a month ago to purchase the car. Approximately 3 weeks after I contacted Ken to find out why I hadn't received the title yet. This is my initial problem. If I had not made an attempt to contact him I probably wouldn't have found out that according to Ken the state of Missouri is behind on processing titles. And would have been riding around on expired temporary tags. After multiple calls I still have not received any title or tags. My temp tags expire in two days. I'm still on the fence about this dealership and this situation. They've made their money, now I need tags or a title to drive the car to make mine.

Gay Goldenberg

I can’t say enough good things about West County Volvo and the sales staff. Everyone was extremely knowledgeable and ready to answer any question I had. Ken Levine, our sales person took me on a demo ride and really highlighted the car. Although I didn’t think we were going to buy a car that day, we did. Thank you West County Volvo. I love my car!

Todd C

I would recommend NOT going here. Arrogant. Don't care about customers, was the attitude I got, when walking through the doors. I have a Volvo XC90 already. They don't care. If you are crazy enough to give these guys your business...I can recommend a better place to get servicing and repairs, just down the street. A place that specializes in Volvo's, but also Porche, Ferrari, Mercedes...and at a fraction of the price this dealer charges, for guaranteed work.

Raina Chao

We've purchased two cars here and were extremely happy with both experiences! Tom Calkins, who we worked with for both purchases, is great and was even a factor on our pro/con list for buying the second car. I would highly recommend him.

Robert B

Went to parts. Good experience.

Bill Parker

Have purchased several cars over the past 18 years from Suntrup West County Volvo. In all cases the buying experience has been a very positive one. Have used Tom Calkins each time with extremely good results. There was no games played or bait and switch tactics involved. He is an honest individual that knows his products thoroughly, sharing his knowledge easily with my wife and I. While I like Volvo products, I keep going back to Tom Calkins for this most positive buying experience.

Lawrence Chavis

I have never owned a Volvo before but when I saw the new Volvos and the technology I was excited to try one. We knew exactly what we wanted but no dealership in NC had it. I looked on the internet and found 3 dealerships that had the model w/features we were looking for but WC Volvo took the lead in satisfying a new customer. The deal was smooth and the customer service was top notch! If you are looking for a Volvo from anywhere in the USA, dont hesitate to contact WC Volvo!

This is the second Volvo we've purchased from Tom Calkins at Suntrup West County Volvo - he and the dealership team make the buying process easy and efficient. I emailed on Friday afternoon about a 2016 XC60, visited the dealership on Saturday morning for a test drive, and left that afternoon the happy owner of a shiny, new volvo! They were willing to negotiate on our trade and surprised us with a 0% financing offer. Tom was a pleasure to work with - friendly, professional, and honest, he sells a product that he genuinely admires and believes in. Our overall experiences with Suntrup have always been positive, and my husband always compliments the service team for taking care of his scheduled maintenance in a timely manner. We have been pleased with all aspects of Volvo ownership thanks to the great team at Suntrup and highly recommend them to anyone looking to purchase a new or used vehicle.

Tim Edwards was terrific! I did not buy my used car from here, but I sure wish they would of had what I wanted. By far the best salesperson out there! He was personable, knowledgeable, and not pushy at all. My 2 teenagers( which the car was for ) wanted to buy a car from West County Volvo just because of Tim! Sorry Tim, we had to get a certain Toyota, even though that salesperson was awful. Thank you for showing my kids what a "nice" person is like. I will look you up when we buy our next car!

I always enjoyed visiting West County Volvo, because I know when I go there, I will be treated like a Queen.... I went for my regular maintenance and not to my surprise, Velma, the name I gave my Volvo, came out of the service department just like she did when I picked her up in 2012, brand new!!! I especially want to give a shout out to Amos Beals who took care of Velma and made her so shiney!!... He worked so hard and I could tell how much he enjoys his work....Awesome job, Mr. BEALS!!! Finally if it wasn't for Dan Kitchel, I probably would always be crabby.... He knows exactly what I need and always goes the extra step.... I have referred several clients who have a Volvo, to use this location because It Is The Best!!

Sabrina Chuc

Had a Saab there for weeks. My boyfriend went to pick it up and had to deal with absolute disrespect. No greeting no nothing. Probably was being profiled and thought he was there for nothing. Spent over 1k and dealt with nonsense. And picked up a dirty car not even washed. Only helpful gentleman was at the parts department. Never again. Do not recommend. Disrespectful, ignorant, and rude.

Amy Rendleman

Thank you Tom Calkins! Great experience. Highly recommend!

Kris S

Simple process and great arrangements for finilizing the purchase of the vehicle. Ken worked through even while my father was out of the country for his mother's unexpected death.

Leah Rutenberg

Great experience and service from beginning to end. Tom Calkins was my sales person. He took time to explain all of the technology and after a software update, he made sure it worked. He had everything ready to go on time and even the financial office was easy to deal with. Never felt pressured and they came in higher than 2 other places on my trade.

Laura Arnold

Purchasing here was the most pleasant car dealer experience I've ever had. The service experiences, however, have been the exact opposite. Every time I've brought my vehicle here for service the problems remain unchanged because the service technicians are "unable to replicate" them. We've gone so far as to take pictures of the error messages that our vehicle was giving us and showed the technicians who told us that since it wasn't giving that message now they couldn't do anything to fix it. So if my car were, say, on fire but it wasn't currently giving you a message that said "Help! I'm on fire!" you wouldn't be able to determine that maybe you should put the fire out? The thing is, I don't even blame the technicians really. Every time we've been there, there have been several other vehicles ahead of and behind us and I don't think I've ever seen more than three technicians working at once. I'm sure they’re coached to keep the length of time they spend per vehicle to a minimum and that they prioritize based on the severity of the problem. So when I drop my car off because the headlights occasionally cut out and then flash back on they're probably going to try it a couple times and if nothing happens they mark it off the list and move on to the next car. What needs to change isn't the technicians, it's the service standard that Volvo has in place. When I purchase a Volvo, with it's quality and performance being the top selling features for me, then I should be able to have that quality and performance maintained throughout the life of my vehicle, whether it's eight months or eight years down the road. And really, Volvo should want that too. After all, each Volvo driving down the road is a rolling advertisement for the brand. If the headlights are blinking on and off sporadically it's not a very good advertisement, or rather it's an excellent advertisement to buy another brand. I had planned on purchasing a new XC60 in the next year or so but now I'm seriously considering changing to another brand just so that I don't have to deal with the Volvo service department anymore. Your cars can pretty much sell themselves, all the salesmen have to do is be friendly, but the service you provide your existing customers goes a long way in determining whether those customers continue to purchase with Volvo or another brand. I haven't tried the other Volvo dealer in the area but based on the reviews online it sounds like it's not much better. It's overwhelmingly disappointing that an outstanding company like Volvo, who produces a wonderful, high quality vehicle cannot provide their customers with a service department that matches that standard. I apologize for the length of this post.

Tom Cunningham

Not so helpful. Not very interested in satisfying our needs.

I want to rate my experience at Suntrup West County Volvo. First, I only went to this Volvo dealer for a car maintenance (wife's car) and no intent to leave with a new car. The customer service in all areas of this dealership is excellent. Tom Calkins is a superb salesman, his knowledge, and experience in auto sales made the process very smooth from beginning to end. At any moment fell pressure or rushed, the communication was clear at all the times, and the dealership made the process easy. Tom Calkin is a salesperson who went above and beyond, understanding the needs of my wife and helping me to choose the right car at the right price. This is our third Volvo, and this kind of customer service is one of the details that make us loyal to the brand.

Chris Aguirre

Jim Portner was a terrific sales person to work with. He and the rest of the team made the whole erxperience of buying our XC60 comfortable and easy. I would highly recommend visiting West County Volvo.

Jerry Lester

Recently purchases a 2017 XC90 R-Design from West County Volvo. I live in Illinois so the drive to the dealership is a long way; however, I was very surprised at how much time the salesman (Dan Suntrup) spent with me and my 12 year old son. We test drove 3 different XC90s and look through nearly everyone they had on the lot. This is when the outside temp was near freezing and not that fun to be outside; however, Dan freely kept running back to get different keys and put on deal plates. He also spent a lot of time explaining items in detail as we conducted our test drives and comparisons. I was able to complete the deal via phone/txt over the next week or so since I live in Illinois. Upon delivery, the vehicle was ready for my arrival (gas, clean, and under cover), paperwork took less than an hour for everything and everyone was very efficient and pleasant to deal with (no waiting around for the next person!). Afterwards, Dan spent another 1.5 hours once again going over all the features and setting up all customizations to fit me. We even did one more test drive to help me fully understand and use the AutoPillot. This is my first, but definitely not my last Volvo. I usually trade out of autos every 3 years or so, and I will definitely be visiting West County Volvo as my first stop for my next auto!!!

Rapheal Murcelli

It's very rare to find an Automotive Dealership that is truly honest and fair. West County Volvo is the place.

Renee Hertel

Good service

Chad Shelton

Tom Calkins is excellent. He really cares about connecting with the customer and making sure your needs are met. Very knowledgeable about his product as well as the competititions. Extremely personable as well.

Paige Tobik

I, very unfortunately, made the mistake of purchasing a pre-owned Chevrolet from West County Volvo. While I do think the car is just bad, I also think that the employees here were well-aware of the problems with the car and intentionally did not disclose them.... Even when asked. Less than 3 weeks after purchase, my car was hardly driveable. I initially got no help from West County Volvo, until I took it to another place who told me that the dealership from which I'd purchased the car should be willing to help me. After forcefully requesting they fix the car, they took it to another dealership in St. Peters, had it worked on, and I had to go pick it up in St. Peters. Only about half of what I needed fixed was. (No follow up from West County Volvo). Now, a year later, my car is back to its same crappy state, again with no offer of help from this dealership. Had I known that I'd be met with such dishonesty and 'dirty business,' I would have never shopped here. Do yourself a favor and don't.

Matteo Signorino

Tom Calkins is the best sales associate that I had ever had the pleasure of dealing with. This is the second Volvo that we have purchased from him. His approach is completely relaxed and no hassle and he genuinely seems interested in providing the most comfortable sales experience. When you can walk away from a car buying purchase and not feel stressed, taken advantage of, and get a good deal on the sale, what more can you ask for? Plus, having dealt with their service department for seven years now, I know that the car will receive professional and courteous attention after the sale. Tom and West County Volvo definitely have our loyalty for years to come.

Michael LeGay

Good service and attention to detail. Excellent communication.

Christy Schmidt

Excellent Customer Service! We didn't quite expect to buy a car when we walked on the lot, but we found exactly what we were looking for at an unbeatable price. The best part was that our salesman, Tim, had an easy-going personality, he was honest, and didn't pressure us one bit. It was the absolute easiest car-buying experience we've ever had. We highly recommend getting your next vehicle at West County Volvo. :)

nicky ridgeway

Great sales staff. No pressure sales and honest.

Duane Collett

I have purchased many cars from many different dealers in the past 50 years. No one has ever gone beyond my expectations as much as Ken Levine at West County Volvo. He is a true professional and very much knows his product. He is patient and very courteous. In the many car buying experiences I have had, he is the Very BEST!!! Thank you Ken for all of your help. I love my new Volvo S 90 . I will be back in a few years to buy my next Volvo from you !

Corrie Huff

We had to start shopping for a car and had no idea what we wanted. We went to one dealership to test drive another make and the salesman was incredibly pushy and just put us off even looking. Then we went here to Volvo and Jim Portner was great; he explained the new features, let us do some no pressure test drives and answered our questions. He did not push us to buy that day nor did he call us 2 minutes after we left. When we called to negotiate he was very reasonable, accommodating and efficient. We closed with Matt Iglehart, who was super helpful and seemed to genuinely care about getting customers the appropriate package for them. John Fitzpatrick walked us through the new features and computers on our new (to us) car. They made everything hassle free and we didn’t feel that we had been taken advantage of.

Princess Hutchins

This place is so much better than Brentwood Volvo. They are so friendly and I truly appreciate the timely manner in which they take to fix my car. Twice now, I have brought my car here and they have done a fantastic job. They have won me over.

Quentin Johnson

I came into service department at 7:25am with a simple question, one that ended up giving another dealership some business. I was told "we don't open until 7:30" OK, I get the posted hours, but dam, did I offend someone?

Margaret Clarke

Loved working with Ken Levine to buy my Volvo XC60! Very knowledgeable and great to work with! No hard sell, just a great guy! Now my husband wants a new Volvo!

Karen S

We wouldn't consider going anywhere else. Tom Calkins is the best! His knowledge and attention to detail goes beyond expectations. Whether we lease or purchase, he always makes the process easy. Once you have worked with Tom, you will understand what excellence is!

Rider Biker

Jim Portner was rude, argumentative, arrogant and unprofessional. The only reason I bought the car was that it was optioned and priced where I wanted to be. He went as far as to cut down my wife's car while she was standing in front of him. He didn't deal, he dictated. Knowing the car and blue book I bought the car. There is no way I would consider buying from West County Volvo again. Terrible experience, worst sales agent ever.

Terry Trout

Went there on a Sunday to just browse around. Tom C is a salesperson there and was taking care of some business and saw me looking around. He approached me and was very nice even though I told him I wasn't in the market. He even got keys to let me look in the new XC40. I was very impressed with that level of service and if I my budget ever allows for a high end vehicle, I'm heading straight to him. Thanks for the impressive service.

Mark Jones

Great service department . They were able to get me in without an appointment and solve a minor electrical problem in my car very quickly. Can't say enough good things about the staff here. Would highly recommend and will do business with again.

Davey Hawkins

This is the first time ever in my life that I've taken the time to post a review of anything online, and I am doing it because my experience with Tom Calkins at West County Volvo was so extraordinarily good. Tom worked hard to get me into the right car and I am so satisfied with my overall experience. I could not have gotten a better deal or more friendly, professional service anywhere else. Thank you Tom!

Sharon Westrich

I can honestly say that my husband and I have never had such a stress free, no pressure, go at our own pace, decision making process in deciding to buy our Volvo XC40 from West County Volvo. Tom Calkins is a seasoned, easy going and very knowledgeable sales man who made our experience in selecting our vehicle a smooth and enjoyable one. In addition to his professionalism he is just a likable guy who knows how to personalize the process which helps set up the relationship we will now have with the dealership as we bring our car in for future maintenance in the years ahead. If I could give him and the dealership 10 stars I would!

Scott F

Fast, efficient, no hassle, and friendly service is achievable. Our experiences have been outstanding. We were out looking at cars on a chilly Sunday afternoon and Tom C was at work. He probably wasn't expecting to do business with customers but let us test drive a car and let us in the office to warm up. We were impressed - liked the car too!

CHERYL SALAMONE

A few years ago I was in need of a new car after an accident. WC Volvo had a cute little Lexus, barely used, that fit my needs. Tom was my salesmen. I must say he made it super easy. Typically, as a women, you can feel mislead. That was not the case. Fast forward to current time and the need for something new and a few more needs arose. Based on my experience I went back to Tom. He was able to check off my needs with a brand new S60, packaged just the way I wanted. I was in and out in with no hassles. I am not for sure, but I just may be Volvo4Life.

David JONES

I very much appreciate WC Volvo's and our salesperson Ken's way of doing business. Upfront, honest, and helpful. Prompt, courteous, and personable. This was the most pleasurable car buying experience I have ever had. Not only were they great to deal with, I got a great deal too!

Jake Evans

Bought a 2017 Xc 90. Salesman did a great job. Porter did a terrible job detailing the car. Very disappointed. Wheels were caked with brake dust (when I cleaned the wheels I noticed 2 of them had rash on them and one tire had a chunk missing)interior was filthy and had less than a half tank of gas. I have bought a lot of vehicles and that was a first for me! The comical part of that is l, when I test drove the vehicle I had to put gas in it myself because there was not a porter around to put fuel in it

Andrew Overbeck

Turned in a lease car here and salesman Tom was extremely rude the entire time. He said he didn’t do lease turn in’s so I asked who did and he threw down his stuff like a child and marched into the office of Sam who did. I could tell he was talking about us behind our back. I walked in Sams office and Tom told us to get out and have a seat in the lobby. Very bad customer service. Volvo paperwork I received in the mail never said to make an appointment or I had to return to the dealership I bought from. He never asked if we wanted to lease another car. We emailed the general sales manager about our poor experience and never heard back. Maybe sales people here need a course in common courtesy? Glad we went elsewhere to lease another car!

Chris Hanson

Tom Calkins of Suntrup Volvo West County = Exceptional! Educational, knowledgable, helpful, customer-first approach. Not only did Tom help me purchase a new car, he provided the perfect amount of information and education to help me select an automobile I did not think of buying while staying within my budget. He put himself in 'my shoes' and I ended up with a 'dream' automobile. Many thanks to Tom and Suntrop Volvo.

AVOID, AVOID, AVOID. Purchased a car from, Dan Suntrup at Suntrup West County Volvo. Before purchasing the vehicle, I asked if the car had been inspected by a mechanic. I was told by Dan that it had and everything was in working order. Before I had driven the car 100 miles, the check engine and VSC lights came on. I took it to my mechanic who told me that the catalytic converter may be bad, a wheel speed sensor was defective, engine torque strut needed replacement and one of the three tires was so worn that it could have caused damage to the transfer case since the three other tires being new were not rotating at the same speed as the worn tire. My mechanic even stated that no reputable mechanic would have let an all wheel drive vehicle out of his garage with mismatched tires like those. When I contacted Dan and Sam Bruen (Pre-owned Manager) they, of course, denied there were any issues with the vehicle and it was pure coincidence that all of this occurred within 100 miles after the sale. They also told me that they would do nothing to help. Basically, Dan told me that it was too bad I got stuck with a defective vehicle and a $1,265 repair bill, but it wasn't their fault. I thought the day of the prototypical used car salesman and dealership were over. I guess I was wrong. They got me, don't let them get you! Be very careful if you think you are getting a solid car from Suntrup. You probably aren't! There are too many reputable dealership in St. Louis to have to put up with this type of dishonest service. Go elsewhere.

James Sarino

We had visited Suntrup West County Volvo to look at a Honda Pilot that was on the lot. However, when we got there the SUV was sold earlier that morning. We then spoke to Tom Calkins, who offered to have us test drive two SUV's in our price (and reasonable mileage) range, the Acura MDX, and the Mazda CX-9. We really liked the MDX, and without any pressure, we did end up picking it up...the price was just too hard to pass up. Tom on the sales side, and Mat on the financing side were more than accommodating, even with our bored daughter tagging along. :-) I would recommend coming here to check out their selection of pre-owned, as well as new cars!

Ryan H

My wife and I were looking for a hard-top convertible and Volvo's C70 was on our short list. After driving the C70, we were down to that and the Infiniti G37 convertible. The price, ride, and features were very comparable, but what pushed us to the C70 was the experience we had at the dealership. The entire staff was pleasant, even the people not helping us, and Tom Calkins (our salesperson) was incredibly nice and was the main reason we purchased the vehicle from West County Volvo. We plan to own this car for a while, so knowing that we have Tom and the rest of the staff on our side in the future is very reassuring. I've purchased/leased over five cars in the last five years for myself and friends/family, and this was the most easy and pleasurable car buying/leasing experience I've ever had. I highly recommend West County Volvo!

Scott S

Best car buying experience in over 30 years! We've purchased a lot of vehicles over the last 30 years. Tom Calkins made car buying fun for the for the first time. He's down to earth, honest, and very knowledgeable! This is our second Volvo and we love it! Thank you, Tom, for everything you did for us.

Dianna Phares

Excellent! I have been buying Volvos from West County Volvo from about 1990. I have always had outstanding service on my cars and most important, I have 100 percent trust in buying a new or used Volvo and having service and repairs done. I would never go anywhere else. Tom Calkins is the best in sales as well as the service and parts team!

Praveen Varma

The 2017 blackfriday xc60 inscription deal is shady. Its the regular bloat up the price, take out the bloated price deal.

Matt Roche

A wonderful experience from beginning to end! Tom Calkins genuinely cares about each person that comes through, and I felt that the entire way with the best car buying experience I’ve ever had. He found my dream car and made it so easy, I cannot begin to thank him enough. A few months out and I still smile every time I get in my new Volvo XC60.

Kim Cordevant

We waited 3 1/2 hours for an oil change and tire rotation. We have to drive a long way to get to you for an oil change, so it made for a long day and we had to drive back in traffic. Come to find out our vehicle was done and the paperwork just sat on the desk for 1 1/2 hours while we waited in the waiting room :-(

BOUND BOUND

Cheaters crooks nope not digging it.

Bryan & Trish Sato

The service dept is not representative of a luxury auto brand such as Volvo. I had a 730am appt for oil change, tire rotation and state inspection. At 1230pm when I hadn't heard from service dept, I called. I was told by Bob that they hadn't even started on my car and they had no estimate of when it would be completed. I was told that it didn't matter that I had a 0730 appt because so did everyone else and they couldn't "bump" anyone. I asked that they cancel my service and I would pick my car up. Upon pick up, the service mngr showed my husband a long list of other open tickets that also hadn't been started. He even showed him an open ticket from Wed (this was Fri), that wasn't finished as if to validate this problem. Never have I run into problems such as this at any other dealership, let alone one where cars run 40k plus in price. They definitely do not cater to the customer. Very disappointing.

Carl Ward

This dealership is run by experienced professionals. They offered a fair price on the vehicle right off to bat so there was no needless back and forth. They are extremely organized, so we did not have to sit around for hours waiting for paperwork. It was the best car buying experience I remember. The Volvo S90 6 is an amazing car.

Timothy Case

DAN!!! The service department is why I have kept coming back to this dealership.

Mike .

Salesman was friendly and not pushy. Very nice selection of vehicles. I would recommend this dealership.

Heather Dorkapotamus

For a bunch of people that are in customer service they have the worst people working with people. I bought my 2013 Rouge here and it has not been the greatest experience. I felt like I was a burden to the guy that was selling me this car. He was not friendly or helpful and seemed like he just wanted me out of the way. As for the car. I'm sure I got the short end of the stick and now I'm stuck with a bad transmission because they cant recreate the issue and no error codes come up do there is not thing wrong with it.

Glenn Huskey

If this dealership hadn't had the exact, preowned car that I was wanting, I wouldn't have bought my car from there. They insulted me by what they offered for my trade and it took almost 4 hours to go through all of their games. In the end, I got what I wanted but it shouldn't take 4 hours of haggling to land at a favorable deal for the customer and the dealership.

Sara Ahmed

We walked into a Volvo dealership to check out used Volvos and walked out with a Lexus. Jim Portner was patient, thorough and explained the ins and outs of each car, the associated warranties, as well as his own personal experience as a car owner. He accommodated our schedule, letting us take an "extra long" test drive for the car we eventually ended up buying. We were very satisfied with our experience working with Jim and look forward to referring friends and relatives and working with him again when the next car purchase comes around!

Nicholas O'Shaughnessy

I only have good things to say about my car buying experience at this dealer and my salesman, Tom Calkins. I would rate ten stars if I could!

Adam Pherigo

Customer service was awesome but what mean nasty technicians they really don't seem to care about you I own a Saab and I will not be taking my vehicle back here

Brian Mcleod II

Cliche car dealership. Small, rinky-dink office with disinterested salesman who are confidently wrong about the vehicles they sell. When presented with information from volvo’s own website that’s in contradiction with what he said, he claimed “you can’t trust everything on the internet.” Avoid if you can.

Jerry Kokesh

Highly recommended; great place to do business; very satisfied with great selection and good prices. Tom Calkins is a super salesmen who makes car buying fun!

soocoolO_o younger

This place suck!!They sold me a 06 nissan pathfinder n they knew it all along that it has a lot of issues one major thing was bad transmission n bad radiator! 4 months later after I bought this suv from west county volvo everything started to fall a part. It's going to cost me about 4 to 5 thousands to fix the transmission n new radiator replace and other electrical problems. Please dont buy anything from this prople they are nothing but a ripoff!!! Verry bad business.

Vania Letechipia

Ken L was amazing! He helped us find the right car for us at the right price. Totally recommend them.

Elyse Thomas

Wonderful experience from A-Z!!! Ken walked me through the process. I felt completely taken care of. I’m so in love with my new car!!!

Jennifer Cave

My husband had a great experience here versus the other Volvo dealership in St. Louis. They fixed a software problem with the car and fixed a problem he's had for over three years where as the other place simply couldn't get it right. Thanks to Joe in service for the great experience!

David Holmes

We bought our second Volvo from West County last week. It was a good experience. Tom Calkins sold both cars to us. The first about 3 years ago. I talked to him and told him what I was looking for and he kept in touch and found me the right car. Matt, the finance manager, is excellent also. Experienced and honest. Would recommend Tom, Matt and West County to friends and relatvies. David Holmes

The ostrich Squad

On a cold afternoon in January we visited West County Volvo. Tom was tremendous. No pressure. Friendly but not fake. He listened and got me in the cars I came to see. As we talked, Tom heard me say a few things repeatedly and suggested the XC90. At the end of the day, it had everything I really wanted and I owe Tom some credit for hearing it and making suggestions. Go see Tom at West County Volvo and simply tell him what you are looking for. 24 year can't be wrong. Oh, and the Volvo's are pretty sweet too!

Norm Muelleman

Monday Feb 18, I had the day off and chose to go car shopping. I am a very particular shopper; I research, I compare, I look some more. For cars, I had a particular brand in mind. As a comparison, I went to West County Volvo, and met with John Fitzpatrick. I explained I was looking at replacing my Chevy Impala LTZ. It is the 305hp V6, loaded. I looked at Brand X for a replacement, and wanted to know what Volvo had for comparison. John took a lot of time getting to understand what I was looking for. We started looking at the s90 series, but he knew I was looking for a little more sport. We eventually looked at the S60 R pkg. We test drove it, and I put the car thru its paces. He knew I was looking at other cars, and was confident that I would be back to look at Volvo. Im still looking. I may go with the Volvo. Bit John was a pleasure to work with. He was not your typical "car salesman". I would go back for a 2nd look just based on the experience I received.

Ajit Kumar

One of the best car buying experience. Jamie Sorrentino the sales person is very nice. Other Volvo staff are also helped me get the Registration paper completed in time. Got the best deal on my car. They delivered what was told at the time of sell.

Patrick James

Ken helped us out through the initial sale of our new XC60. He was very informative and answered any and all questions. When we returned a couple days later to complete the purchase, Jamie helped to assist us with the delivery of the car when Ken was out. Everyone was very nice and I would recommend Volvo and specially West County Volvo for anyone looking for a new vehicle.

Lynne Strasser

Bob in service did a great job getting all the things done that were covered by the initial contract for the car. Even the windshield wipers that were starting to streak more were replaced. Another good reason why we work with Tom Calkins and West County Volvo.

Jennifer LaBundy Palagiri

We had a great experience at West County Volvo. The sales staff were extremely helpful and spent time with us answering questions. The lease signing process went very smoothly- the gentleman who walked us through the process was very knowledgeable and friendly. Our salesman was very patient with us and we felt no pressure. He was readily available for the follow up questions we had after our first meeting. This is our first Volvo, and we love the car. Plan to come back for years to come.

Jeff Taylor

We dealt with Ken the internet manager and had a great buying experience. He gave us a good up front price and I didn't get the usual high pressure sales pitch in the F&I office. It was one of the best car buying experiences I've had.

BADR ALHEMAYYED

Be careful before buying any car from this dealer the worst experience ever the told me there is no issue with the car unfortunately I trust them when I received the car full of issue refused to fix the issue

Matthew Alexander

Buyer beware! If this dealership lived by the words of their business philosophy they would be tops, but what a loaded line of false advertising. They take every advantage of being a business in a no-fault state. Careless, false, uninformed & pompous are just a few adjectives but most of all & definitely unconcerned about safety. Buyer beware!

Colleen Matthews

Jim was absolutely incredible! He really took his time and effort to work with us. He made us an incredible deal we could not resist or find elsewhere. He really took care of us, and did not waste our time. He will definitely have our business in the future!

Alex .

Absolutely love this place because of Tom! He is by far the best sales person that I have ever worked with. We have now purchased two vehicles from him. If you need a great deal on a new luxury vehicle don't waste your time anywhere else!

Vernon Bean

Check with Tom Caulkin if you're interested in buying a car. Happened to catch him on the lot on a Sunday and he wasd extremely helpful.

Jeff Watson

I've purchased my last two cars, both Volvo's, from WC Motors. I drove my 2001 S-80 for over thirteen years. I plan to keep my recently purchased 2015 XC70 at least that long. Go see Ken Levine in the online/used car department. He made the whole buying experience as painless as could be.

Suzanne Carroll

See my friend Tom Caulkins and he will take care of you!! Will always go to Tom when I need a car. He is like family!

Derick Dailey

Jim did an excellent job getting me into a great new Volvo. I recommend him and his team to anyone looking for quality and friendly service.

Jane Yount

Worse than horrible service - they don't care = zero integrity. Took care in over and over, got work I didn't need (one thing was credited eventually). Horrible diagnosticians. They wanted to charge me at one point for their ineptitude to diagnose - I pointed to their sign which said free diagnostics, was told that's not always (sign was later removed). Got new brakes I didn't need, by the time inept staff figured out prob was my tires, they weren't under warranty anymore. I complained as this was just ONE prob of many. Finally after my repeatedly trying to get SOMEONE to address the issues, got a call fm Joan Suntrup. I told her I resented having to pay for new tires because their mechanics don't know what they are doing. She said she had told the service mgr to call me. She obviously didn't care. I pressed her to get a call, got a half-hearted response. That was seven months ago. These people don't know what they're doing and don't care if you get to shell out the bucks because they don't. (And Volvo Care is an oxymoron.)

I just had a wonderful experience at West County Volvo with Tom Calkins. He is friendly, knowledgeable and even fit my double stroller in the trunk of the XC90!!! After that I was an easy sell!! Lol! I usually hate buying cars and the whole process but he made it easy and enjoyable so I really wanted to share my experience.

Adam Bleser

My wife and I had been lurking XC90s for a few months and Tom helped us along the way - zipping up any color combination we wanted to see without hesitation on multiple occasions and answering all of our questions. He never pressured us to buy or dismissed us for not being ready to buy - he was always happy to help and answered all of our questions. The buying experience was great too - had us in our new car the same day we agreed on a deal. Great experience overall!

Was in there over 3 weeks ago. They had to order parts and was told 7-10 days. (must not be Prime members) so I offered to return their loaner car. Now it gets to be over 2 weeks no contact so I call and inquire. Only 1 set of parts came in they would get the other set in within the next 2 days. (thinking they only ordered one set) 3 days now no call. My service guy is off. I called over 2 hours ago (11 am) and have yet to get any service technician to return my call. If I had an option I would go elsewhere but this is a OEM part and only a few places work on their convertible's. Yeah its the nicest weekend of the summer and I can't use the convertible top. Seems to be a trend this service department has never gotten things right the first time or within a month.

We bought a used Highlander from Suntrup West County Volvo and we could not have been more pleased with the service we received. I found the car while searching the internet for Highlanders in the St. Louis area. Dan Suntrup and I emailed back and forth a few times about the car. He was very responsive and helpful but not at all pushy. Once we arranged to see the car he made us feel like we were the only thing he had to do that day. He was very patient while we processed our decision. He called the Toyota service department to get information about adding a tow package, which was something we would need that wasn’t currently on the car. He was very thorough and by the time we made our final decision to purchase the car we had no lingering doubts at all. From there we met with the business manager. We thought we were using a loan that had been set up through our own bank, which had assured us several times that everything was in place to drive off the lot with the car that very afternoon. Turned out the bank had not given us everything we needed (their mistake, they apologized). The business manager arranged a loan for us with a different bank at a lower interest rate and had everything done in the time it took us to sign a bunch of papers. Even though we were dealing with an Illinois title (which apparently causes a few more hoops on the paperwork side), everything was done properly and we breezed through DVM. I’m writing this review because I wanted the world to know about our wonderful experience with West County Volvo. Buy a car from them — you won’t regret it!

Great service. Very organized. One issue they took too many walk Ins while those with appointments waited.

The salespeople here are definitely friendly and personable. They are a tad salespitchy though, which of course is to be expected at a dealership. The reason I am giving only 2 stars is because once they found out we weren't going to lease and wanted used, it felt like they just gave up. Apparently around 60% of their inventory is leased, which is great for them, but not for prospective buyers of used inventory. Literally it felt like we were rushed through the rest of the process once it was clear we were not leasing. Even the tour of the vehicle was rushed and very surface level. The salesman was polite and informative but it felt abrupt. We were not offered a test drive. I had driven the xc90 there about a week before, but this time I was back with my husband, and he had never driven it and was excited to get the chance. However, there was no offer from the salesman to test drive. We could have asked but I was picking up on the strong vibe that he wanted to move on. I get it, he didn't want to waste his precious time offering a test drive to folks who weren't going to sign leasing papers that day or any day soon, but I disagree with how it was handled. It was a total turn off and they possibly lost our business.

The Team service provided by the staff at West County Volvo was great! Moments after walking in the dealership, someone is tending to your needs and providing assistance. In addition, management is not afraid to get involved to address particular needs of a customer. Most of all, the service provided by my sales representative, Tom Calkins, is bar none! This is my second Volvo and I wouldn't think of going anywhere else! Kudos to the Team at West County Volvo!

Kathi Mikelson

Thank you, Jim! When our family moved from a van to a SUV you were the perfect representative to help us transition. Your guidance and kind spirit helped us feel great about our decision.

We just bought our first Volvo from Suntrup West County. We had the fortunate experience of working with Tom C. in sales. He was fantastic, patient and knowledgable. He answered numerous questions and spent time getting us settled in the car after purchase. He went extra steps to make sure our experience was pleasant and memorable. Overall, he made the typical dreaded car buying experience something we look forward to again. Ask for Tom in sales!

Bo Roche

The best experience I've ever had buying a car. The salesmen there actually KNOW about the cars they sell. Great service!

Ken was excellent - very helpful as we made our selection and purchase. He was attentive without being pushy. His follow-up was just right. We highly recommend West County Volvo.

In mid-July I contacted Ken Levine at West County Volvo with questions about the 2013 Volvo S60 and details concerning how the COSTCO auto buying service applied. Ken was very helpful, and I made an appointment to see him about a new car. Ken and I went on a test drive, and he thoughtfully and thoroughly explained the wonderful new technological features. I would be trading in our 2006 S80 (our 3rd Volvo) and the advances are very impressive. I selected a beautiful S60 Premier with the Technology Package, the Blind Spot Information System (BLIS), the Climate Package, and All Wheel Drive. I also paid $2000 to have the Navigation System with Voice control installed. I diligently researched the S60 online, and compared its value to other cars in its class. Actually seeing the car and driving it confirmed what I’d hoped was true. I also researched the trade-in value of my S80. It was worth approximately $7000 according to the Kelly Blue Book Trade-In estimate. Ken offered $4000. When I questioned him, he explained the cosmetic issues (primarily replacing the rear seat) would require over a thousand dollars. I told him I had researched replacing the seat myself, and found a replacement for $350, delivered. He further explained the Kelly Blue Book figure was always significantly inflated, and that after the car’s mechanics were checked and repaired as necessary he was sure that the dealership would make only a marginal profit at best on the S80. I went into the dealership having decided I would accept $6000 ($1000 lower than the Kelly Blue book estimate) on the trade-in, but Ken was firm on the $4000 figure. I didn’t like it – but I believed Ken to be honest, and trustworthy, and agreed to the deal. I found the S80 on the used car lot yesterday. The rear seat had not been replaced, nor had any of the other minor cosmetic issues been addressed. The list price for the car was $9,950. Now, I understand dealerships need to make a profit – but REALLY? Over $5000 PROFIT! Ken’s message (above) thanks me for my trust and my business – and adds that great customer service is the basis for his business. I’ve been extremely happy with all four of our Volvo’s, and have demonstrated MY loyalty to Volvo by returning to buy a new Volvo time and again. In addition I faithfully maintain all of my Volvo’s at their service centers. I now wonder if my loyalty is so misplaced that I should seek new avenues. After having written the above message, I printed a copy and brought it to Ken. I also brought copies of the Kelly Blue Book, and Edmunds estimates for trade-ins. Kelly’s - $7300, and Edmunds - $6900. I proposed that the dealership provide me with $1500 in future maintenance and parts to be fair, and to prove by example that “great customer service is the basis for his business”. We talked for more than a half hour. Ken continued to assert it was a fair deal. I asked him to present the proposal to his Manager and he did. The answer was “No.” I no longer wonder if my loyalty is misplaced – and I WILL seek new avenues.

Went for an oil change. Staff was nice. There’s a nice waiting area or they will get you a car.

Just bought my first car from Jim Portner! He was very helpful and professional! 10/10 would recommend for your next car purchase! Go see him at West County Volvo!

My wife and I stopped in to look at Volvos with the thought of leasing one. We have never leased a car before. We worked with John Fitz who was very patient and thorough as he walked us through the pluses of a lease as opposed to a purchase. We looked at our options and decided on a vehicle. We would highly recommend John to anyone looking to purchse/lease a Volvo. We were pleased with our choice and felt the price was fair. We look forward to a long relationship with West County Volvo. We absolutely love buying and having our vehicles serviced at West Co Volvo. We have purchased four Volvos from them thus far and have always had an amazing experience! Our sales man, Tom, is exceptional!

After lots of research and conversations with other dealers, we decided to purchase our vehicle from Ken Levine and Stephen Lynch at W County. We got a better deal than anyone else we had worked with, better knowledge of the product and a better experience. The support from the whole team at that facility has been great - John Fitzpatrick was super helpful in educating us on the car and all its features. Would recommend to anyone over any other dealer in town.

Worked with Ken Levine for the first time to purchase 2015 XC60. It was Labor Day afternoon, and Ken stayed late to answer questions and make sure our needs were met. I felt the negotiation was fair and we are happy with our new car. Ken also provided a loan car when we brought ours in to install seat warmers.

Haritha Kommineni

Not professional. I’m not sure if that’s a typical Midwest customer service but every person I came across here is rude and I couldn’t tell if they were racially discriminating. I truly wish there’s another Volvo dealer around to go to. We never had that car and heard and read good reviews about these cars.

Larry Prewitt

Probably the best experience I have ever had in purchasing a car was with Ken Levine with West County Volvo. No pressure but a lot of listening to what I wanted in a car and then explanations of the features of the Volvo and how it contained 21st century technology. Then...a remarkable test drive to illustrate the principles discussed. Ken was a very knowledgeable, upfront, honest and eager to be of service during the sale and following up in teaching and explaining features of the vehicle. The negotiation was quite simple with very few decisions required and then sitting down with the finance group was just remarkable. I'm very pleased with working with Ken Levine and the team and considered this my absolute best car purchase experience. WC Volvo is very lucky to have Ken and I'm looking forward working with the team as we move forward with the maintenance and upkeep of the car. Larry R. Prewitt
