Told us the car we were buying was not the one with transmission failures when we asked. A month later had issues and they “fixed it” but another month and now the transmission is failing. They are offering market trade in...either they are not as knowledgeable about cars as they seem or they lied. Not sure which but would not recommend buying a car from them.

So I had originally went in 1st day dealing with James looking at a very used car. I liked the car started the process of going the steps...which he made easy! Had to return the following day to finish the process due to a security thing on my account my protection! Before I got out of bed my phone rang from the finance manager Eric... they have better options and so forth for me, ok! So I went in... I had a wonderful experience purchasing my Chevy Impala from Gulf Auto Direct. Let me say that I do not look forward to working with car salesmen and was trying to find a vehicle I liked using something like Carvana (just so I wouldn’t have to see a car salesman). So, I worked mainly with James and the customer service all around has been top-notch. Once I found the vehicle online, everything was done and the car was delivered to my house in less than 24 hours. I never stepped foot in the actual dealership and everything was done via email or phone (with the exception of the delivery and signatures). James drove the Impala to my house after business hours (which was over an hour and a half away in Louisiana), and drove my trade-in back to Mississippi. The other staff members who reached out to me to explain financing and warranties were also very friendly and did not give me the run-around. I would definitely go to Gulf Auto Direct when purchasing another vehicle and would recommend to others.

They weren't interested in negotiating price, when there was obvious room for it. You can contact them, but don't expect much. They contacted my wife after reading the review to try and persuade her to get me to change or remove the review, citing all the positive response on the Internet. Nothing against them. I am just providing an honest response to our experience. It does make you wonder if you can trust what you see on the Internet about a company like this and how honest that representation is. I've read the managers response to negative feedback here. (read it for yourself) He says they sell so many cars, they can't be bothered with negotiations. I guess he doesn't need or want my business, then. That's okay, there are plenty of other car dealers and I wish them the best.

If I could give a 0, i would. I was interested in a vehicle and was contacted by Ricky. He sent me multiple emails and text messages about the vehicle. Basically, he wanted me to purchase sight unseen over the phone. I told him my husband and I would be down to drive at 10 on Saturday, 8/3. We drove 2 hrs from hattiesburg only to find out the vehicle had sold late the previous day (even though Ricky had contacted me at 3:45 the day it supposedly sold). When I contacted Eric, the sales manager, he made it sound like it was my fault for not calling before I came since they have lots of customers who never show up. Wanted to talk about all the awards his company had and how impressive they are. Basically, ricky wanted me to buy vehicle sight unseen bc he kept offering to deliver for free. Also, ricky said vehicle sold at 5:30 and Eric said 7:00 "right before closing" . No one bothered to let me know so I wouldn't make trip. Obviously, they dont think my time is as important as their sale. Just proves what I've always been told...car salesmen are dishonest. They can't even get their stories to match!! Since I am a woman, they didn't take my business seriously. I wouldn't buy from this dealer if it was the only one in mississippi.

On face value, customer service from Jacob was great and professional. The price was great and the car was in really great condition. Jacob and the sales manager told me that they get cars in and thoroughly inspect them before the cars even get to the sales side of the lot. When i test drove the car, no issues were presented. Two days later when i picked up the car to take home, the rear tire pressure indicator came on reading it was 7 pounds low. I took the car to be looked at and the tire had 4 nails in it. Which means i drove home with my son in the car over 90 miles with this tire. So ya not very safe for the customer! GulfAuto had to put air in it before i test drove it because the online pictures of the interior showed the dash with the low pressure tire indicator but not when i test drove the car. The gas cap seal wasn't working correctly and the light came on saying there was a leak of pressure but nothing while i test drove it. The computer was cleared previously before i test drove. I received a call from management and then talked to the owner directly. The owner was very sympathetic and helpful. He made good on the tire issue and the gas cap so i changed my rating. The one good thing from all this, the car was what i was looking for and wanted.

Justin is the worst salesman I’ve ever come into contact with. He is unfriendly, manipulative, and deceitful. He is money hungry and does not have your best interest at heart. When trying to buy a vehicle from Gulf Auto, we were repeatedly directed to vehicles we said we weren’t interested in. Instead of running our credit number and attempting to get financing for us, Justin suggested that “daddy” help to pay the bill. Justin’s daddy might pay all his bills, but we’re adults that are interested in doing business with other professional adults. I reccomend you go literally anywhere else on the gulf coast.

Want to thank Justin for his help with my purchase of a 2018 Sorento. He made the entire experience an enjoyable one. I'm up there in age, bought a lot of cars so far in my lifetime and could never honestly say that until now. Past experiences for me and probably a lot of folks has been like taking two full tablespoons of nasty tasting medicine and getting a flu shot in both arms simultaneously. That's not the experience you get at Gulf Auto. You don't have four or five sales people popping out of the building running towards your car when you first arrive, even before you're able to park. Kind of frightening sometimes. Only one person, Justin came out to greet me and actually allowed me time to get out of the car and everything went smoothly from there. First impressions inside the building.....spacious, clean and inviting and you're even offered a cold non-alcoholic drink right away. Everyone of the staff I met was friendly, professional and eager to help if needed and you're not rushed, or pressured in making decisions. Wonder if those other dealerships along the coast will ever catch on to what the people at Gulf Auto are doing right? Now, they have a bean bag throw game there , but I think there's something a little sketchy with that. The bean bags are like huge compared to those small holes you're supposed to lob them into, plus the wooden surface where that small hole is appears highly polished. Yep, probably the reason the huge bean bag slid right over the small opening when I threw it. In all seriousness, this is where you want to go for your next vehicle, great inventory selection and good people. Be sure and ask for Justin if you want a great auto shopping experience.

Vroom!!! What a great car store. I had been keeping my eye on this dealership for a while and noticed that there was always an impressive and constantly changing selection of late model cars, trucks and even vans. When I arrived, it was like walking into a car candy store. I upgraded my low mileage 2018 car for a different low mileage 2018 car and got an unbelievable deal on both the trade-in value of my car and the price of my new car. Alexis, my Salesperson, knew more about cars than I did and I know a lot. She was incredibly patient, taking me on several test drives to help me select the vehicles I liked best. No pressure at all and that meant a lot - it was all about me the customer. Then Eric, the Sales Manager, wrote up offers on the cars I liked. The offers were almost too good to be true. I thought about haggling but decided it would be pointless. All I really had to do was decide which vehicle I wanted to buy - and that was the hard part because they were all so nice. I managed to get really lucky with a deal they had and working with a great salesman. Ricky Saragusa went above and beyond and the rest of the dealership did everything you could ever ask for. I live 3 hours away and didn't find out the whole story until later, I bought a porsche boxster from them sight unseen. I ran into a ad they had for it and no pictures but, the details fit the goals I had in mind. I gave them a call and Ricky made it all happen fast. Truth was I ended up buying it from them within an hour of the ad being posted and they were still in the process of making it. It is a great car and they even repaired a few things damaged in it before I got it. If you are looking for a new ride, go see Ricky and I promise you will be happy in the end.
