I would get a Volvo serviced here but I personally wouldn't buy from them compared to experiences I've had elsewhere. Presentation is decent with a quirky Swedish interior design to it that I like. The reason i wouldn't buy from them is one of the sales people were apparently shady towards a relative buying a car from them. Artificially nice, possibly told a lie about a rival dealer and then when they were closing/bullying the sale they made comments of legal threats if there were delays with the financing (rather than "we will work with you"). I would have walked from the deal if that happened to me. The brand new car broke the moment it was driven from the lot. 3 days later flashing all kinds of dashboard errors. Now this was more likely the fault of the manufacturer and/or this car had "lot rot" (new car sitting on the lot unsold or driven for a year). The issue was how they handled it. Weeks in the shop getting new parts with poor communication updating us on the status of the repairs. Had a similar issue later when they lost parts required to do maintenance on the car and blamed us. After weeks of back and fourth it turned out yes the parts that belonged to car owner were in fact lost in their shop from a previous service. Car is great but is still having minor issues. If it was mine I'd trade it in for another brand before the below industry average warranty expires and have to work with the dealers out of pocket.

I had a very satisfying experience with Johnny Rogers of Kline Volvo in making a decision on purchasing a new car. There are many choices available and he answered all my questions. After the purchase, he covered all the aspects of the technology as that is one of my weak points, but he became a verbal manual in explaining all the features which helped me understand and his patience made the experience easier.

This is a similar review written on the Yelp page for Kline Volvo as well. Be sure to read those reviews and strongly consider whether or not you want to do business with this dealership. My wife and I began looking at new cars. On the Kline website, they had an offer to test drive a new vehicle and receive a $75 gift card. At the dealership, we had a fine experience with the sales person. Test drove a couple new models and gave him the paperwork for the gift card. He said he would take care of it. He followed up frequently and had let him know we were still looking. I had mentioned we never received the gift card and went back and forth. Several weeks turned into months. At this point, i was really skeptical of wanting to proceed further if they couldn't figure out a simple gift card offer. The sales person was going to work with the manager and then was going to just send out a gift card directly from the dealership. I've never received it and the sales person refuses to return contact. Mind you, this is a very dumb reason to not do business with someone. However, if they can't figure out the simplest of tasks, why would I trust the with the difficult ones? I had suggested to a friend who was looking for a new car to consider the XC90. I told him my experience and suggested he visit another dealership. He chose to work with Kline and it has been nothing but a battle of back and forth. He too was denied an advertised offer because the dealership wasn't making profit on the vehicle. Not because he didn't qualify... but because the business manager made a poor business decision. I have filed a complaint with the MN Attorney General for false advertising and dishonest business practices and recommended to my friend do the same. It's a shame about the dealerships reputation when Volvo are such nice cars. I have been working with Volvo corporate to file a separate complaint with them.

Had our car brought to Kline because it wouldn’t start, or release the shifter out of park without manually releasing it. Called in on it, and was told they had it all apart and hadn’t found the cause, they were looking at everything. They notified my wife they had to get diagrams sent to them because they had checked everything and couldn’t figure out why it wouldn’t release the shifter interlock or crank. The dust shield that slides with the stick wasn’t replaced when they reassembled it. I said I can stick my fingers right down in there. The manager’s response was “Well, don’t stick your fingers in there!”, and laughed and laughed... His follow-up was his technician told him they never looked at the shifter and it’s interlocks. I’m pretty sure since they claimed to have taken it apart and couldn’t find an issue there, they actually took it apart. Two stars are because they did get the car to shift and start, minus three for contradicting themselves, and returning our car missing parts. What’s possibly missing that I can’t see concerns me. P.S., please don’t tell me you’re sorry and tell me I have to again call back to try to get resolve. I called, your manager laughed and laughed...

I have had the opportunity to work with Mike Hendrickson on a couple occasions. During both, Mike was excellent. My first visit was related to a question about climate control. My air conditioning was not very cool. Mike was reviewing the controls when the air conditioning compressor started making a noise. He quickly grabbed a technician who analyzed the situation. Mike set me up with a loaner on the spot and repairs were completed just over a day later. The next experience was with a pulsing brake issue. Mike was able to get me in the same day I called. I arrived at 4:30, a technician took the vehicle, 45 minutes later the front rotors and pads were replaced. Mike is excellent, he is very friendly, detail oriented, concerned about the customer experience and ensuring any repairs are completed in a timely manner. Great job Mike. 10/7/2014 purchased a Subaru from Peter Carlson. Test drove it the day before buying with no issues, no check engine lights. Buy it and on the drive home the check engine light comes on. I was dumb at the time and needed a vehicle for work. I should of turned around and took it right back. Turns out to be a head gasket issue eventually leading to engine failure. Point of the story is be careful buying used vehicles from these folks, it's easy for mechanics to shut off check engine lights before anyone tests drives a car. Take the car back if the check engine light comes on, on the drive home.

Additionally the actual facility was excellent and geared toward customer satisfaction. My only "complaint" is that we bought the car and drove it home to Kansas so won't be able to have Kline service it!

I took my new used car to Kline because I believed the dealer knew best how to fix it. First repair was great, with great communication and fast service. However, my satisfaction dulled in my recent dealings. Since August, I have had our car in for 3 different repairs. Unfortunately, TWO of the three repairs required more than one visit to fix. My service adviser Jim was attentive at the start, but within 2 or 3 visits, was hard to reach. On one occasion he promised a callback by 1pm for an estimate. When I called at 3pm, the receptionist said he had left for the weekend. The service manager ended up calling me an hour later with the diagnosis and estimate, without an apology. I don't know if its because my car is older, or if its because I didn't purchase it at Kline, but I really don't feel as if I am a "respected" customer. Regardless, I will NEVER be taking my business to them again.

Normally courteous service but every time I bring my XC90 in for service, I ask if it will be washed and every time I pick it up, it isn't and has to be washed at that time. I don't usually mind waiting a short time, but why not wash it right after the service to save customers time? Today, when I saw my car brought around unwashed, I complained and the runner said "it'll be a while" and showed little effort to make haste and was all too happy to hand my keys back when I declined the wash so I wouldn't have to sit there. His attitude and this annoying car wash policy need to change. I come to Kline for a higher level of service than I can get at my corner garage, but now I'm reconsidering.

My husband purchased my CPO'd Volvo XC90 Inscription at a dealership in Virginia and a little over a week later, we came to Kline for our 50K service. The vehicle had been pulling strongly to the left, so much so that I could barely drive it. When I brought it to Kline, they noted that the tires were below the required tread for a CPO vehicle and thought this was most likely causing the pulling. Our service advisor, Bo, was extremely helpful in contacting the general manager at the dealership we purchased from and with the help of the general manger of Kline (Mike) the cost of the tires was completely honored by the Virginia dealership under our CPO agreement. We were so grateful for the integrity of the Kline dealership for pointing this out, as well as their willingness to go above and beyond (I'm nearly positive Bo stayed over an hour late to resolve this) and work so well with another dealership to honor the CPO requirements. Without Kline, we would have been out over $1,600 for tires we had been told were in CPO fine condition at the time of purchase. We would definitely recommend Kline and they have our absolute trust and respect for working through this and making sure we got the vehicle we deserved and paid for. Thanks, guys!

I emailed Kline Volvo about a vehicle I was interested in. In my email I linked another vehicle that had a lower price but was the same trim with 7000 more miles in Chicago. I told them I would be more inclined to consider theirs but the price difference between the two ($3000 to be exact) had me hesitating. I asked what they could do for me to help me reach a decision. I also mentioned I lived in the Milwaukee area and was open to travel to purchase this particular model. A John Rogers replied to me asking me to provide them with a credit card so he could bring my offer forward. Immediately, bells went off in my head. I have never heard of such a thing before so I called John to ask him why he needed it. He replied stating it would do him no good to try and price match their vehicle to the one I found in Chicago and bring it up to his manager without some 'weight' behind it. I consider myself a nice and respectful individual and I don't like to get confrontational so I didn't mention that I never said anything about price matching, nor did I mention that I would not have wasted my time to contact them if I wasn't serious. Furthermore, if I was a walk-in customer, you would not simply ask me for my credit card. John's tone then changed to something I perceived was discourteous and without care. He asked me why I was even bothering to call them and that if he were me he would just purchase the vehicle I found in Chicago. I was a bit stumped and in my mind I thought 'Really?'. I mentioned theirs had less mileage and he said, "what, 5000 miles?". I corrected him and said 7000. He brushed it off and continued to speak but at this point I was so beyond his logic that I was barely able to pay attention to him. In the end, I simply told him I was no longer interested and hung up. Kline Volvo, I am disappointed at the level of service I received from your dealership. I was expecting a lot more professionalism considering your high rating. This was not my first time purchasing a vehicle and I know full well how the process works (as two of my dear friends are car salesman). I do not understand how I could not simply have been accommodated my simple request. I hope you will provide a better experience for your future potential customers.

Would should have been a simple defective tire replacement turned into multiple visits and blame from service staff for not parking the car in a heated garage at night. They have no interest in listening to you or working to come to a compromise. For the amount of money you spend at the place they treat pretty pathetically. Side note, I'm pretty sure they intentionally understated the mileage on the title when I bought the car as well. I'm sure it was to try and lower the number of miles remaining on the standard Minnesota used car warranty of 2,500 mile you get upon buying a vehicle. So for people who have recently purchased a used vehicle from Kline I would double check your paperwork. My vehicle is still under factory warranty so I'm ok but others might not.

Kline Volvo is a great dealership. Even after two years since I purchased my S60 they still greet me by my first name which makes me feel I'm a special customer for them. The staff is always friendly and courteous. Last Saturday in the morning, when I called the Service Department to schedule a 20K service, Scott Muellner picked up the phone and gave me a good news - I could bring my car in for service the very same day at 1PM. Scott came out to greet me and take my car. I had a chance to briefly explain my current concerns about the car and Scott gave me an estimate on how long it might take to complete the service. My car was certainly taken a good care of. Could not believe how well my car was inspected - in and out and so thoroughly that the team had even found a broken plastic clip inside the engine compartment. My complaint about some vibration on the steering wheel when applying the breaks was also taken care of. All in all - AMAZING! Scott kept me in the loop at all times and I did not mind waiting a bit longer than was originally told as I already knew - it was for my own good and for the car's best performance. All I can say - THANK YOU, SCOTT! THANK YOU, MIKE! Thank you, Kline Volvo for such positive experience.

New car with leaking brake pipes!!! They don't give ???? about customer safety. DE Kline and go somewhere else if u value ur family's safety. I was told it was a "one off" by Kline. Yes Kline is definitely a "one off". I drove away my new car away from Kline. I arrived home after 1 hr 45 minute drive. My son noticed a brake warning light on the dash. I drove back to Kline the following day thinking it must an electrical fault. No! Its was a leaking brake pipe.This must have got past Kline's quality control. Working brakes costs you more on a new car. Kline Volvo sell safe cars?! The new car buying experience was also a "one off". I was told "we will chase you through the courts for the money". This was before I had even signed for the car!! Did the sales guy really say that?! I was amazed by his attitude. Did I come to "Kline Bail Bonds" or "Kline Volvo"? no idea why I continued with the Kline buying experience! The sales person said that it would cost $400 to put on winter ties on my new Volvo. What? I had bought winter tires from TireRack. I thought Kline might even put the tires on for free. I said I was not prepared to pay $400 for Kline to put my new TireRack tires on my new car. Another sales guy told me that the workshop was not happy that I refused to pay $400 dollar for a tire swap. Was this the reason my brake pipes leaked?! 3 weeks later my new Kline Volvo went back to Kline to have the brakes checked again. I returned home and noticed scratches down the front side of my new car. I contacted Kline and left messages. No one from Kline returned my calls. They don't care about customer retention. I contacted Kline service department as Kline had lost my locking wheel nuts when they repaired the brakes. I was at Discount Tires trying to swap my winter for summer tires. Kline service said they did not have my locking wheel nuts. Kline also said that they would have to order the locking wheel nuts from Sweden due to size of the car wheels. My winter tires were melting in 90 degrees heat. 2 weeks later I drove to Kline Volvo and asked the Kline service to check if they had my locking wheel nuts in their service bay. 10 minutes later the service guy returned with my locking wheel nuts. So now I could get Discount Tires to swap my winter tires for the summer tires. Ok. So if you want to spend over 50K and treated like a criminal or worse then Kline Volvo offers this "one off" service. DE Kline this and go somewhere were you can buy a new car which has working brakes and they want your business. I value my family's safety. Kline don't!!!

I enjoyed the clean waiting area that includes complimentary refreshments and wifi that allows me to work while I wait for my car repair. I had to make multiple visits to complete this repair and Scott helped minimize inconvenience to me by providing a loaner car while we waited for new parts. One of the best car buying experiences ever. I made an appointment to see the XC60 I found on their website. Our salesman, Nate Turvesson was great. He had the vehicle warmed up and ready to test drive when we arrived (it was bitter cold and icy that afternoon). It was a great experience...they didn’t even flinch at our 18 year old trade in. The buying process was organized and easy. Everyone we met was gracious and friendly. I love my new Volvo and am looking forward to dealing with the Kline Volvo group in the future.

The purchase of my wife's 2016 V60 was great but it was a certified car and the rotors needed to be replaced and recently one of the tires went flat because they put a plug (See Photo) in the tire rather than patching or replacing the tire. The used car manager passed it off to the service manager and he stated we have been plugging tires for 20 years and never had an issue, B.S.! No worries all fixed with a new $170 tire and a bit of unneeded stress , I called the General Manager Mike and I guess I wasn't important enough to get a call back. Hoping we don't find any other issues! I also sent two of my buddies in to purchase cars, on a 2017 XC90 supposedly certified but less than a month later and had to put almost $700 in rear brakes! My other buddy's tires wouldn't balance and as far as I know his issue was never resolved by Kline (See Erik's review). You guys need better quality control on your certified cars!! Maybe you should just sell new ones! ****I did reach out to your GM multiple times with no response, I will no longer do business with you since you are way to busy to take care of your customers - You have lost three due to this. ******Your response is pathetic

Bad new car buying experience - terrible new car buying experience for a luxury vehicle. Go elsewhere. I wasn’t going to write a review because I want nothing else to do with this place BUT they selectively choose who to give customer satisfaction surveys to. According to friends in the business, that is unethical - all of my friends were required to be rated on every transaction. Somehow I wasn’t “chosen” and want to give everyone a heads up. The short of the long: we agreed to terms for the purchase of a new car, went to go close and pick up the vehicle, the car wasn’t there, my pregnant wife and I were pressured into signing paperwork and trading our car in, waited over two weeks to take possession of our new car. I have never been less happy buying something new in my life, not to mention the used car lot sales tactics at this “luxury” dealership. I am genuinely appalled by the low touch and short sighted customer care at this dealership - you deserve better, so go elsewhere and save yourself the hassle. It’s a great car but we will never do business with any Kline affiliated dealership. I tried to contact the ownership group but conveniently their “contact us” page was “under repair”.

Scott Muellner and Kline Volvo are always very accommodating. I recently got new tires, and planned to wait at the dealership. Scott offered me a loaner car when an equipment problem arose, so I didn't have to hang around. Tires were done and car was washed within a couple hours. Thank you!

Austin Defor, sales consultant, and Mike Theisen, general manager, provided the best car-buying experience I've had. The finance person was out sick that day, but Austin was able to take care of everything, anyway. I appreciate how he "shopped" around for the lowest APR for me. Everything from negotiating the price/package to financing the purchase was smooth. They let me set the pace. And there were no surprises at any point during the transaction. Austin shared helpful tidbits, like how keeping the A/C button on (even when it's cold out and the cabin temp is set for 74 degrees) helps to keep moisture out of the air and reduce fogging of the windows in the cabin. I appreciate knowing that! He also gave me a heads up that the State may not send me plates before the 21-day temp license paper in the rear window expires, since the State has been backed up ever since the State/DMV made a software change. So I made a note in my calendar to plan to call Kline and ask Kline to mail another temp license, or stop in to get another temp license paper, if I haven't received plates in 3 weeks. I appreciate that heads up, too. A day before I purchased this newer vehicle, I brought my old Volvo in for repairs. I also appreciate how Mike Hendrickson, at the service desk, answered my questions and was a sounding board as I weighed my options (to keep putting money into a 2006 S60 or buy a 2015 S60). I had been taking my previous, older car to Kline for some time. While no place is perfect, they do make things right when there's a hiccup. To describe how they operate in a single word, I'd say: integrity.

I seldom write reviews but after my experience with Kline I felt compelled to confirm that Kline is the go to Volvo dealership to buy your Volvo from when shopping for a new vehicle in the Twin Cities. We buy a new vehicle every 3 years and have had numerous experiences at various dealerships and with various sales people. Kline Volvo by far exceeded my expectations on all around service as well as accommodating to our needs. Nathan Tufvesson was our Sales Consultant and is truly an asset to Kline Volvo. Before I ever step foot in a dealership I typically have done a ton of research ahead of time on the vehicle I am looking at purchasing and I am often disappointed when I find I know more about the vehicle than the Sales Consultant. This was defiantly not the case with Nathan as he knew our car from top to bottom and blew me away with his knowledge of Volvo's technologies and intricacies of our X90. Nathan was truly a consultant and not a sales person. He had answers for all my questions and was easily reachable during the sales process via text or cell. Bottom line, don't buy a new car without stopping at Kline Volvo first. Ask for Nathan, he is the real deal and you will not be disappointed!

These folks arranged for their people to come to the auto body shop and get the car after it was repaired.
