Professional sales person, treated with respect at all times. Very dissapointed that they would not even consider quoting me the price advertised as their "internet price". Prior to the visit I alluded to the fact that I already had a quote and needed to see if I could get a better one. It was a 25 mile trip to the dealer and I was quite disappointed that they refused to even give me any quote and suggested I take the deal I was offered by another dealer. Well I did, after wasting a few hours of my day.

This past week my partner and I went to Mattie to look at a 2015 VW Golf SEL that was available for a great price. We walked in and met with Ryan (Sales Representative) who previously sold a 2014 VW Jetta S to my partner a year prior. What a great guy Ryan is, he down to earth and doesn't fool around, whats great about customer service is knowing your customers asking asking about our day to day lives and what plans we had in store for us. Soon enough I was sold on the car, it had everything I ever wanted in a car and plus side was that I wasn't being badgered to buy it.

Bought a used 2016 Audi TT roadster at Mattie - the whole transaction was done remotely. Found a great car in their inventory, spoke to sales rep over the phone, had several very polite negotiation emails with the manager and quickly arrived at a price. They advised me on paperwork and docs i needed on my end for NC. I flew to Providence to collect the car giving them advance warning that I only had limited time to stay at the dealership. The paperwork was all ready to sign, the car was ready to go, and Chris (delivery manager) spent as much or as little time as I needed to understand the car. The whole process was easy, not sales-y, and customized to my needs. Feels like it's the ethos of the dealership. I highly recommend Mattie.

Just purchased a new GTI over the weekend from Jon Tartaglione and the experience was amazing. This was hands down the best dealership I have ever worked with. Jon is extremely knowledgeable about the product line and knows not only the main features but the small minut details that you would only get from a salesman that is truly passionate about the product he is selling. The entire process was easy and stress free and this dealership has done an excellent job adjusting from the traditional car buying experience of the past to what is to be expected from a modern 21st century dealer. If you want the type of level and support that you would expect to find from a BMW or Porsche dealership (that you dont always actually get) but at a Volkswagen price, do not hesitate to walk into Mattie imports and be amazed, just as I was. He made the process easy and quick, the manager Rick Sullivan was honest and upfront with me and was extremely polite. The finance manager is Tom Wallentin and he explained everything to me and took the time to make sure I understood what I was signing. When I come in for my services they have snacks and drinks for free!. They have a very nice waiting area which makes me feel welcome. SALES REVIEW ONLY - My wife and I drove to the dealership from 45 miles away because they had a particular CPO used Audi we wanted to look at. I called in advance to make sure it was available, and spoke with the salesperson Chris Clark. He confirmed the car was available, and said he would have it ready and out front and gave me his cell# to contact to let him know we were close. We arrived and the vehicle was ready for a test drive. Chris was no pressure, and answered our questions. We decided to move ahead with the purchase which involved a trade in. They evaluated our trade pretty quick, and came back with a offer that we knew was fair due to our own research. I believe the sales manager who did the evaluation and worked with Chris for us was Jon, who was also good to work with. (note:as with many dealers these days, the sell price of this preowned vehicle was set -and matched the internet sale price.) We decided to purchase the vehicle and the process was smooth. Tom in Finance was good to work with and was able to get us a competitive rate. We bought the car on a weekend and had to contact the insurance company we deal with on Monday to get the binder, (our choice-not Matties) and return Monday afternoon for the sticker and reg. The paperwork was ready and the car inspected/stickered, and even washed again for us. Overall a very good experience, and would travel back to them if they had another car I was interested in purchasing. Thank you!

Worst customer service I have ever experienced I put in multiple inquires on a couple different models and trim levels to really get a feel of pricing and when I decided to not buy a car I came back into the market and inquired for a car again I tried to get a quote on a Audi A4 but the internet general manager Brian s Farrington was the biggest jerk he was so rude he told me he had no interest in doin business with me and that he will be passing just like how I have a right to buy a car where ever I wanted to and that he had that right as the seller to do the same thing and that he doesn't want to sell me a car, and I quote I don't want your business or attitude just because I put in to many inquires I'm just looking for the best price and the perfect car cause I am just exploring my options.

Just bought a house, lost my wife and my transmission on my car went..so after going to 7 different dealerships in past 2 days looking for a car. Alter meeting and talking with a sales rep, Mattie's had me drive all the way to fall river twice saying that they agreed and could meet me at my number, ONLY to sit me down and throw a totally different number at me after giving them my absolute number... (after knowing my situation) They claimed that they didn't know and only now crunched the real numbers... (not sure how that was possible, they never took my information to see what was possible, which I don't think they realized in the rush of me telling them I was purchasing something TODAY no matter who it was with) lol No integrity what so ever! They also sat me in a totally different car and said they could get me in that car for my number... only to lie yet AGAIN. Contrary to what I expected I was dealt with properly and respectfully with ALL the other dealerships that I visited but NOT with Mattie's. They were of course nice and personal but their behavior and lack of respect for your TIME, and SITUATION is deplorable. They claim to be a family owned and pride them selves on earing you're business but they don't the simplest of good customer service... which is to LISTEN to the customer! They just hear a number, and work like crazy to get you to THEIR number. Instead of being honest with you the customer. They claim that they make no money and actually loose on EVERY car they sell... well they must make a mint on the sales side (ie; numbers bonuses etc) I'll be sure to share my experience every way possible for sure. They are the example of why car dealerships have such negative reputations. Needless to say, I GLADLY purchased my new car somewhere else...

Excellent sales and service At Mattie. When I decided to buy my first new Volkswagen a 2013 Jetta Hybrid, the only dealer I wanted to go to was Mattie. They are helpful and knowledgeable, I walked in on a Saturday and said I wanted a Jetta Hybrid, they didn't have on the lot but they found one and by Tuesday it was on the lot and been smiling ever since. If I buy another VW the first dealer I'm going to is Mattie Imports period.

First I wanna say that the level of unprofessionalism from the management in this dealership is incredible. My husband and I went car shopping today. We were at three dealerships, and this dealership had what seemed to be the best deal that we had all do. So, we jumped on the deal and wanted to lease the car. We wanted the break down of the the pricing, and was told that we could not have this until we sign the paperwork with the finance manager. They wanted us to sign a "Purchase Contract" stating that we were buying the car before we agreed on a set price. Not once did any of the managers come out and speak with us. So, after waiting almost THREE HOURS I asked how much longer it would be, and one guy said it would be five more minutes. After another 15 minutes I went to the finance managers office, who's card I was given earlier to email my information to. I asked the finance manager how much longer it was going to be. Tom was the manager. He told me exactly "I don't know, I cannot make it go any faster. I've been busy." At this point I was livid I said not at one point did you come to me or tell me "Hey we are really busy, It is going to take a little while." I have been in customer service. I get it, but I would have appreciated some contact with someone. Not to be left sitting for almost three hours without speaking to a manger. I would not recommend anyone go here. Do not get me wrong this was not the salesman Seans fault, his management is what lost the sale on a new car. The management is absolutely terrible.

I worked with teddy chabo and he made me feel comfortable, not pressured, and I felt like he was working to get me the best deal. I got fair value for my trade in and mark was so helpful showing me all the bells and whistles of my new car. I went into Mattie Imports on March 19 to purchase a new vehicle. I was told that the only person who could give me a price was the general manager who was off the night I went in. I was there for 2 hours, spoke to 2 salesmen and the finance manager and not one person could negotiate a sale. Tom, the finance manager, told me that he would have Brian (the G.M.) call me the next morning with a price. It is now 9 days later...no call, no email and he didn't return my call from the voicemail I left him. I can't understand why they would waste 2 hours of my time when I visited this location and then refuse to complete a sale. I even called the G.M. the next day and he was conveniently in the meeting the 2 times I called. I left him a voice mail and have waited over a week. To top it off, when I arrived I had to search for someone to assist me. When I did find someone (Colin) another salesman (Alex) walked by us and said (ha ha) to Colin but he said it loud enough for me to clearly overhear. It is clear that this dealership didn't want to do business with me. I can definitely afford the vehicle I wanted to purchase, but they lost a sale and I will NEVER do business with them and I will tell all my friends and family about the bad experience I had with them. After trying to speak to the GM to find out why I was treated this way, I must now take my complaint public to let others know the customer service they can expect from this dealership. If I could give them a negative star rating I would, but I had to give at least 1 star to leave a rating!!!

I would like to thank my salesmen, Sean Haggerty and manager, Brian Farrington for their patience and understanding during a difficult situation. They worked side by side with me to help find a used car that fit my budget. They made sure that I was comfortable with my purchase and even after driving away in my car they were still willing to help tie up loose ends. Bought a new GTI end of April. Started hearing a weird vibration recently, at certain rpms. Brought it in for a technician to hear the sound (hard to induce, harder to trace), and decide where to go from there. For this visit, I was hoping to ascertain whether it was related to engine or transmission. Aaron, the foreman, took a ride with me, and was determined to find and resolve the problem once he heard it. It was difficult to find (very difficult). Ray the service manager stepped in to help. Rather than make me come back (inconvenient, as I live far away), they stepped up and worked on the car, found the problem, and fixed it, all in one visit. Awesome guys, awesome dealership that reminds me of "old school" service, all but gone these days. Aside: problem was minor (non-dangerous fuel line vibration in the housing), and I have not heard it since leaving that day!

Bad experience the sales rep was disrespectful because i was no rich guy buying a VW or an Audi. The sales manager told me that it was a bad deal deal for them and a good deal for me even to the extent the next day over the phone he tells me I dont care about this deal anymore. i had never heared that in any dealership especially from a sales manager. These guys need customer service classes. Give your selves a good pat on the back for losing the deal. i dont recommend this dealer to anyone even if you make six figures..

We had a very bad experience here. The majority of service and sales people were complaining loudly and talking very unprofessionally about their customers, even though we were sitting a few feet away. The sales attitude was "if you don't like it, you can leave." There was no sense of customer service and no transparency in pricing or financing. We left extremely disappointed and never plan on returning.

My experience with Shawn and Mattie was excellent. Shawn is a car guy and knows his products (as well as competitors offerings). He took the time to explain the Audi A5, the CPO process and warranty and the differences between the vehicles I was looking at. At no time was I under pressure to buy. At no time did I feel that Shawn was disinterested with my questions or comments. Shawn helped me buy my car, he did not sell me a car. That is a great feeling. I have bought 4 cars here and currently still driving the car I purchased here a few years ago. I would never get my car serviced here after a few visits. A simple oil change and tire rotation takes about 4 hrs. I understand they are going through a list to check off. But that list is explained in 3 secs when it's ready and it's basic things I can check myself. Tire pressure , windshield wipers, fluids. What they fail to realize was my dash cam was on the entire time, front and back cameras. Mechanics don't need to be judging my XM radio presets or stand in front of car for 20 min doing nothing but what looks like sorting tools.

Since 2012 I have worked with 6 VW dealerships and all were good experiences. Mattie, however, stands above the rest. I contacted Mattie about a 2016 Passat they had for sale on a Sunday when they were closed. Brian, the general manager, got back to me within less than half an hour. All of the communications were quick and effortless. We agreed on a sale price by mid-week and I bought and drove the car home on the same day. In particular, Brian Farrington, the general manager, and Chris Sigman were super helpful. They insisted that I call them for any reason. In fact, I did bring the Passat back for a couple of small things to be checked out. Again, they made the process effortless, with a loaner overnight. Great dealership, great service, extremely responsive. Bravo.

I emailed with Brian first to see if they had some particular vehicles available, and my positive experience started from that very first communication. Glenn helped me make my decision once I arrived at the dealership, and made the entire process feel enjoyable and pressure-free. Once we got to the financial end of things, I felt Tom worked hard to get me the best financing option possible, and was honest and clear when talking with me. Feeling secure during this part of the process was very important to me, and was a positive end to the day. I also had shopped at another local dealer prior coming to Mattie and had a very negative experience there, so arriving at Mattie was like a breath of fresh air! I'll be servicing my Jetta with them, and will certainly recommend them to friends or family looking for a vehicle.

I am not one to write reviews, but felt it necessary to commend the entire team of Mattie Imports for a recent car buying experience and specifically Shawn Haggerty, a salesman at the dealership. Due to a left ankle injury, I decided to look into purchasing a new vehicle (switching my old manual for a new automatic). Upon arriving at the dealership, Shawn went above and beyond to make the entire experience a positive one. I returned to Mattie because of quality work they had done servicing my old vehicle and upon entering the door, Shawn made sure that my experience with the sales side of the dealership was as great as my experience with the service side. Shawn was a completely professional, no B.S. individual. He didn't try to "sell" me a car, but worked with me to find a car that I would love. Shawn was patient and even decided to create a make-shift office nearer to the door so I would not have to walk around on crutches throughout the dealership. He was personable and contributed to the whole experience by having a good sense of humor as well, which I greatly appreciated. He even went to bat for me when my insurance company (which would likely garner a bad review here if I cared to bother with them further) was completely uncooperative. I am not saying that I would not have returned to Mattie had I not had this experience, but it was so exceptional that I felt it necessary to share with others. I will make sure to come back to Mattie even though I don't live in the area (and will recommend them to anyone looking to purchase a new car or anyone looking for top-notch service). So, consider this my "go to Mattie" recommendation as I am sure that you will be as impressed with the dealership as I was, and make sure you ask for Shawn. I also feel compelled to recommend Tom Wallentin in their finance department as he also did everything he could to solidify my already great impression of the company. I recently purchased a 2013 VW Tiguan from Mattie Imports. My sales contact, Jonathan T., was amazing and unlike any car sales person I've dealt with in the past. While deciding between the Tiguan and another vehicle from a different car manufacturer, Jonathan never pressured me into a decision. He was very patient and let me reach out to him for questions. He was polite, honest, and willing to complete some homework to get the particular answers I needed. I took the car on 4 test runs before buying - and Jonathan never commented or complained about my drawn out decision making! When we finally sat down to negotiate price, it was done so with minimal stress - honestly, the best car buying experience I've had!

After my service experience today I felt it was appropriate to further praise Mattie. We bought our first car from Mattie in 2008, a great used VW Passat 4Motion GLX Wagon. The price was great, the car was solid and the only fault it ever had was caused by a another dealer whose name has already been besmirched enough on google reviews. Although when we replaced the Passat, we didn't purchase again from Mattie, (stumbled upon an Audi in CT, you love what you love) we have consistently gotten 3 different Audis (2 currently) serviced at Mattie and have had nothing but a pleasurable experience. The shop representatives are upfront and honest about costs, find ways to reduce service expenses and give great advice. More importantly they are honest. A few years ago I was having my 1998 A4 2.8 serviced for brakes. The car was over 10 years old at the time and after the break replacement one of the ABS sensors broke upon re-install. Given the age of the car I expected Mattie to ask me to pay for it. The broken part caused the ABS light to flash and it was something you wouldn't want to live with. Instead of asking me to pay they offered to order the part from Germany and have me bring the car back in when it arrived, my only cost would be install. 2 weeks later I bring the car back for install of the sensor and am told it would be about an hour later. After a considerably longer wait the manager came and apologized for the wait, explained that the techs had been spending time testing each sensor to make sure there were no faults and were cleaning the other 3 to make sure the ABS light never returned. When a fault light flashed during the cleaning process they took the brake apart for a second time and re-installed the sensor to insure proper fit and finish. The best part, as an apology for the thorough job, he waived my service fee and I walked out having paid nothing for what most other dealers would have charged me hundreds of dollars for. I kept the car for another year and the ABS light never came on again. I then traded in the car and brought my new A4 to Mattie for a once over and they found faults another Audi dealer in the area had failed to find. They fixed them quickly and cheaply and I have never been stranded in any of the 4 cars Mattie Serviced. (Again, not the case with the unmentioned VW dealer closer to Providence). This isn't an exceptional experience at Mattie, this is the norm. We had another Audi given free pistons and rods out of warranty simply because the shop noticed that the car was consuming more oil than it should of and they lobbied Audi USA to have the service covered. I can't express how nice it is to trust and enjoy your dealer. We have dealt with other VW and Audi dealers in the Providence/Boston region and I have recommended Mattie to everyone who owns a german car or wants a good used car buying experience.

I bought a car from this dealership and the only reason why was because Alex the salesman I had was extremely nice and helpful and spent 2 days with me looking at cars and picking one out. The finance manager was another story tho, extremely condescending and rude to the point that my dad got up to walk out of the finance office and leave but I said I wasted 2 days of my life here so I just want to hurry up and get the car and get out of here. The finance manager kept on telling me and my dad that he’s been going this for 30 years like that supposed to mean something to us.... I asked if the banks they were sending my loan information to were going to pull my credit because I am trying to build my credit and didn’t want my credit score going down. The manager said no the dealership would pull my credit and send over some fico 5 scores( or something don’t remeber the name exactly) and what ever to the banks. I got approved for a loan and I asked them to fill the tank of the car I was going to buy and they said no. I’ve never been to a dealership where they don’t fill your tank when you buy a car seeing as you just have then a considerable amount of money. Anyways the car hasn’t had any problem but I recently looked at my credit score and it had 17 hard inquiries from Mattie Imports getting an auto loan for me. I called Transunion to see about how to get the hard inquiries off of my credit report because it brought my score down a lot. I called Mattie Imports to ask the finance manager to do what Transunion told me I have to have the dealership do to get all the hard inquiries off of my credit report. He told me that he would never say that the banks wouldn’t pull my credit when both me and my dad asked if they would and he said no he sends form over to them so they don’t have to pull my credit. So he pretty much called me a lier and kept on saying he never said that and that he would never say that because he’s been doing this for 35 years(again I don’t know what that’s supposed to mean to me) and that’s not how it works even tho thats exactly what he told both me and my father, that they banks wouldn’t pull my credit and I wouldn’t get any hard inquiries on my credit report. I will never buy a car from Mattie Imports again and I wouldn’t not recommend it unless you want to be given false information and spoken down to by the finance department.

I unfortunately ignored the bad reviews. I love a lot of the staff there, super funny and are fun to work with. I got a car there two years and I’ve spent almost 4-5k in major repairs. It is now currently in the shop for failed injectors and severe misfire after getting it back from a 1500$ repair last month. Sure, there is basic maintenance that needs to be done but replacing most fuel system components as well as the entire front end of the car and now this current issue, is not basic maintenance. I am soooo underwater in this car or else it would have been gone a long time ago. I was expecting Mattie to stand by their vehicles and offer me some sort of solution but their only solution was to “maybe try and buy another car to get rid of it”. I’ll be taking further action into investigating the certification on this car. It’s unfortunate because this is my 3rd Audi/VW and I used to love them and had next to zero issues. Unfortunately I got a lemon.

I love my 2017 Tiguan...I was not sure I would be either buying or leasing or waiting a year when I entered. I first wanted to test drive the car as I was used to driving Saabs for all my cars back to 1985. I wasn't looking for the ultimate luxury experience, but for a good handling, reliable, and economical car, yet with personality and style. My experience was excellent...everyone on the staff was polite, cooperative and customer oriented. I have had the car a week and have asked a couple of questions, which received immediate responses. I am very happy with the Tiguan and with Mattie Imports. Their attention to everything - including early-on emails noting timely offers, made a difference. I am very happy to have made this decision. I've purchased 3 cars (2 VWs and an Audi) personally from Mattie and sent a number of friends to get vehicles there. The sales folks are always friendly and helpful. The pricing has always been some of the best around. Deals are reached quickly and without much effort. Paperwork is done efficiently, with clear explanations, and no 'last minute surprises' such as random additional fees or hidden costs. I've taken a few of my cars in for service here. The service department has always been quick to resolve issues, usually on the first go 'round, which is more than I can say for other car manufactures I've owned in the past. (heres looking at you Nissan) The waiting area is nice and clean, has wifi, complementary beverages, and a flat-screen TV. Went to have my tire replaced, oil changed and have a low coolant light checked out. They did everything, it took two days but I finally had my car back and only having to pay the 100 dollar oil change. As soon as I get in it , it was clear something was wrong. Apparently someone didn't fasten a pipe completely and it disengaged my turbo. So I had to bring it back and miss a day of work and I was obviously upset. They told me to try a different dealership next time and not to go back. Awful work done and awful customer service on the managers part. Never go here.

I just leased my third vehicle from Mattie, and I can't say enough good things about the dealership. From general manager Brian Farrington, to the sales team and the service department, they have always treated me like a VIP. They have consistently given me a better price than other Audi dealerships in the New England area (believe me, I shopped around). They pick up and drop off my car from my driveway whenever it needs service, despite the fact that I live an hour away. I get a loaner whenever I need one. The service is scheduled quickly, done properly, and followed up on. I have owned many cars over the years, including several BMW's. I have never had a dealership treat me as well as Mattie Imports does. I recommend them highly!

Avoid this place like the plague. Between my mother father and I we have purchased four vehicles from this dealership, and I'm currently waiting to buy the new 2018 Tiguan. I brought my 2016 Golf R in for his regular service and they folded my rocker panel on the lift. They insisted on me letting them fix it, they told me to return the following Saturday and that it would only take an hour, it took four hours. By the time they were done I was so late for what I had to do that day that I just quickly looked at said it looked fine and went on about my day. The next morning when I took a look at it I noticed that they did a piss poor job of putting it back together. I called the dealership and told then that I didn't have another four hours to wait and that the next time it got serviced they could address the issue. Two weeks later I was in a very minor accident and took my car into the body shop that Mattie uses for the repair work. I called the dealership and told him that it was there and said that I would like the rocker panel repair the wall it was in the body shop they use. It didn't seem like a problem for them and I thought everything would be taken care of. When I went to pick up my car at the body shop in formed me that the part that was damaged was a disposable part that cost $650 and that Mattie did not want to pay to have it properly replaced. That they wanted to try to fix it again the Improper way and that I should take my car back to the dealership. To have them do another half assed job on my year old $45,000 Limited addition Volkswagen. When I contacted Volkswagen directly they let me know that Brian at the dealership claimed that I was lying, they admitted that they damage to my car but that I was satisfied, and that I was trying to scam them to damage that during my accident. A statement that made no sense since the other person's insurance totally fixed my vehicle. In past year since I bought my last vehicle there, the sales person who sold me my car left, and the service manager who used to service my car left. It's a sinking ship. Don't get dragged under with them. The fact that the dealership is in an impoverished figure and is basically falling apart while the owners park dealer plated Bentleys and Lamborghini's by the customer entrance should set off alarm bells. I will be going to Mastria for my 2018 Tiguan.

I went there to look at and test drive a VW Tiguan. They asked for my drivers license and a credit card (for damage during the test drive, they said). I did not know (much less agree) that they would put a $500 charge on the card. They didn't have a car that met my specs, so I left. They would not reverse the $500 charge until I complained to Mastercard. I will not patronize this dealership, even for service, now that I have both a Tiguan and an Audi. And I have to say, their outlandish positive Google reviews look ridiculous, and fake.
