Bruce and Vinny in the service department always take the time to get to know you when you arrive for service. They always make me feel heard and take concerns for my car seriously. I have never felt like they were trying to upsell repairs to my car. We put a lot of miles on my ‘16 and I am confident I can put many more on it when my car is in their hands.

Terrible customer service! Just called to get a flat tire replaced and they transferred me back and forth between parts and service 5x! I then asked if I could speak with a supervisor and they hung up on me. I never raised my voice or even sounded frustrated so I don’t know if they purposely hung up on me or not, but this whole experience took 30min. I’ll be finding a different dealership and never recommending them again.

Loved this dealership. I came in look around as I wasn't ready to purchase a new vehicle for a couple of months. I met Randy who the quintessential professional. Not pushy at all. The team was friendly and Larry answered all of my questions about the vehicles to help me decide on which one I wanted and made sure I was all set before driving off of the lot. Don't go to the service department if you not under warranty or you have money to throw away. They participate in the Volvo service for life program only when they feel like it. "Complimentary Vehicle Diagnostics if your Volvo has a "check engine" lamp or other warning indicator illuminated: Up to an hour of computer diagnostics." "If my car has a rattle, does that fall under Complimentary Diagnostics? No, only owners experiencing a Check Engine Light or other Warning Indicators will receive complimentary computer diagnostics and an estimate for any necessary repair without obligation." It covers 2000 and newer Volvo's except the C70. Took my 2000 S70 here for a oil change. Asked the service advisor VINCENT STURDIVANT did they check my check engine light. He said no and caught an attitude and refused unless i paid a $120 diagnostic fee. Kept reminding him about the program but he just caught an attitude and kept telling me my car was too old. Asked him if i bought in a 2015 would they look at it for free like the program says and he said yes. Asked to speak to a manager but he told me they would say the same thing. Contacted Volvo North America and they said they would contact the regional manager but, of course, never heard anything from them. Filled out one of them survey cards too. I also paid for a brake inspection. Got home i realized the paperwork i received only mentioned the oil change. Called back up to the cashier and she said what she gave me was all she had. Now how am i supposed to know if they really did the brake work i paid for if they didn't document it? I don't normally write reviews but it's about the principle on this one. Don't advertise something but when someone comes to take advantage of your offer you tell them, in so many words, to "f" off if they not prepared to spend hundreds of dollars.

If I could give more than 5 stars I would! I had been in the market for an XC60 and began my search at a local dealership. Unhappy with the selection and more importantly the knowledge level of my salesperson, I began looking at Koons Volvo (1.5 hours from home). My initial conversation via telephone with Larry Jones was a completely different experience. He was incredibly knowledgeable about the Volvo brand (and cars in general- this guy has an auto engineering degree too!). He was respectful of the distance we were traveling and sent me the estimated costs for the lease or purchase options. My husband and I went to drive the car and fell in love with it and the way that Larry and Koons does business! This was the best car buying experience that I have had! I highly recommend Larry Jones and Koons Volvo for your next purchase. They were worth the trip! Update: After arriving home, I noticed a scrape on the lower part of the drivers seat near the seat controls. I reached out to Larry to inquire about a fix. He was on it immediately!!! Blair contacted me and set up a service appointment to have it repaired, which I was okay with. Once I arrived and chatted with Larry and Blair, to my surprise Blair had ordered a new piece for the seat! Service department was wonderful and efficient. Well worth the one-hour drive to have my service at Koons!!

Awesome experience! I was looking for a Volvo v60 everywhere and found one I loved,I messaged Larry Jones about one Koons had for sale and then drove all the way from Pittsburgh to buy it. Larry went above and beyond to set everything up for me and make sure everything was in line for my my arrival. The car was waiting for me when I got there and was all cleaned and ready to go. James Brandon is a 5 star individual as well as Sales person!!! I visited Koons Volvo in the summer of 2018 to obtain information on the vehicle I wanted. James was very helpful and worked with me to attempt to meet the price point I conveyed. I must say, I was unrealistic in what I was hoping to pay for a fully loaded new vehicle :) . I did not purchase at that time due to the position I was in with my car. I contacted James early this month (April 2019) and mentioned I was ready to take that next step. I'd like to give a shout out to Ben Addington and Bruce Silvers at Koons Volvo Owings Mills for their customer service. We purchased an XC90 3 years ago and didn't have the best experience, but Bruce took care of the service and did a great job! I made sure to thank him today when I finalized the trade on my XC90 for an S60 Inscription because of the persistence of Ben Addington. On one of my service visits, Bruce introduced me to Ben because I was talking about downsizing. At the time, the numbers didn't work out the way I wanted, but Ben stayed in touch and let me know about incentive changes. Finally, the numbers worked out, but my car was in Charlotte, NC at the airport awaiting my return flight. That didn't deter Ben. He worked out all the details. We did the paperwork and then he drove my new car to Charlotte and picked up my trade-in from the airport. I'm a fan! I've already given him his next assignment - our other Volvo XC90 lease is ending in the near future - game on Ben!! We'll see you in Charlotte in a couple months!

Just bought a left over 2017 V60 from Koons, My experience was very pleasant right from the start, I have tried to deal with dealerships online in the past due to my work schedule and have gotten a huge run around always resulting in no answers and when can you come in to the dealership. Well not this time I dealt with Larry Jones he contacted me promptly after an online inquiry request on a car and followed with immediate contact info, Larry delivered numbers and information and followed through with spot on details leading to me making a 3hr trip from PA to buy a car, once at the dealership my wife and I could not have been treated more professional, respectful, and courteous by Larry and other staff. Do not recommend this place for service. Where should I began. I drop my car off in the morning for a diagnostic check. I don’t live far from the dealership so I ask for a shuttle to my home were I have another vehicle I can use to go to work. So when I ask the service advisor Richard he abruptly and rudely tells me “the shuttles not here” so I’m like I think I just saw a van drive by out there. Then he tells me to go out and tell the guy I need a ride. I go out there and don’t see him I go back to Richard and actually have to tell him to call the shuttle driver and tell him a customer needs a ride .... like really that’s just common customer courtesy ...so fast forward to later so he calls me to tell me I need a certain part replaced and gives me a quote of $970 . I ask him how much is the part and he gives the price of $472 I look the part up on the Volvo website and the list price is $363. I call the Annapolis dealership and they also quote me a price of $363. I call over to there parts department and inquire about why there shop is selling the part for more than $100 over list price. The lady in parts start talking about they gotta keep the lights on and pay for tools and this and that. When I get there to pick the car up i get a bill of almost $300 but the diagnostic check should have only been $125. He charged me for software that didn’t even fix my problems and that I didn’t agree to him putting on my vehicle. In closing this place is a rip off they are overcharging their customers for parts when having the vehicle fixed at the dealership. Which is not right . I understand it’s a business and the gotta make money but it’s not right and the dealership in Annapolis does not price their parts the same.

Excellent Price, but no Car to buy - Excellent folks with couple to name - Claron Etherly, James Brandon. These guys will agree on the price you want to buy the car for, will follow up if you dont call back - make you hear whatever you want to hear, send you the listing/details you need in the car for - but only thing sucks is "They cannot deliver the car they said they have found for us". Its an imaginary car they are trying to sell and waste your time. They told me they will get the car next day, i called a day before to confirm - no response, next day morning called again to confirm - no response, i called again and stated that i need to plan my travel plans - but yet no response. Somehow got hold of one of these since they have same number, he told me he will call me back to confirm in 20 mins, 30 mins tops - his 30 mins = 6 hours. Complete waste of time, bunch of idiots and time waster. I would never recommend this dealership to anyone, rather will definitely share my experience to all. We ended up purchasing same Volvo from a nearby dealership. Good luck with this one!!!

Bad experience with one of the salesmen. I wanted to lease a loaner that has big discount on internet price using text but the guy told me it is not available for lease. He wanted to shift me to another new vehicle with higher selling price which I didn't like and I didn't like the 9% discount that many dealers in the area can offer. I responded politley that I wanted a low selling price on a loaner, I am not leasing this vehicle and thanks for your time. I thought that he will respond with ending the conversation politely as well but the guy got upset, condesceding and rude. I guess they need to work on professionalism and some self control tactics more than their selling tactics.

Dropped off vehicle evening before 07:30 appt next morning. Same night text from svc advisor, Talia, w/link to monitor status. Day of appt no call by 13:15, I called, Lee said will notify Talia I called. At 14:10, nothing. So I called 2nd time. Vinnie said Talia is w/customer, will have her return call. At 14:45 Talia calls and says she was "at lunch". I consented to needed repairs and told that she will call when car is being washed. By 19:30, no phone call. Next day 08:50, I called Talia, she said car is being washed. Got to dealership at 10:30, again Talia says car is being washed. 10 -15 minutes later I look out on parking lot from service lobby, see my car but no one said anything until I inquired if my keys were available. Service cashier thanked me but not a word from Talia sitting 5 feet away. As of today (next day), the link sent by Talia's text the 1st night still reads "final invoice has not been generated yet". I've had a great experience at Koons about a year earlier which is why I went back this time. But this experience is very similar to other bad reviews I read yesterday. So apparently the manager's attempts to resolve this and similar prior complaints by others doesn't appear to be working, in my opinion. Will have to seriously consider returning for future service

Larry is an amazing guy: yesterday I leaned one of my friends got a good deal on XC 90, and at the same time my wife and I have been thinking of replacing our old car with a 7 passenger SUV. I stated chatting with people at Koons and connected with Larry. I told him that I am a straight shooter who wanted to buy an XC90 if they have the right model and if the price is good. Larry was very responsive. He asked me if there is any specific car we are looking for in their inventory. I picked one and asked him if they could offer a convincing price. Within 20 min, he told me what he could offer and invite me to come to visit the store. We met that evening. Larry was very polite, decent, and not pushy at all. We test-drove the car we wanted. My wife and I both like it and would like to choose the one with a different interior color. Larry was very patient, and helped us find another one with a matching color. We reached a deal today and I am now driving the XC90. The whole process took less than 24 hours, largely attributable to Larry who quickly earned our trust. He is honest and 100% trustworthy. He is the one to go if you want to buy a car quick and with a decent price.

I bought my Kia from here and had a great experience. However this year, after my mirror had been damaged and I came back to the dealership I had a totally different experience. They said they still wrk in Kias but the service team was very unhelpful regarding how much the work would be to put on the new mirror. While the gentleman who handled parts was helpful the rest of the team was not. Then when I returned to get an oil change it took TWO hours! I have never had an oil change take that long. And after such a long wait with no apology, they didn’t even put a sticker on to tell me when my next oil change was, when I returned to ask about it they said their sticker machine is broken and they will send me my sticker. Three moths later and I still have no sticker.

The XC90 was just --May 2019--serviced for a non-critical recall. Relaxed atmosphere--banter among employees, loaner car process simple and quick, car returned immaculately cleaned (even wheels!), service advisor--Bruce Silvers-- had everything ready including parts that he had to order in advance. We came back to Koons last Fall to buy another Volvo. Sane color and options but a sedan. James Brandon helped us in the same gracious manner. In 2017 James Brandon listen closely to what we wanted and worked to show us how an Volvo SUV could satisfy us. My wife and I both have vision limitations and severe lower back issues. We want all of the advanced safety and seat comfort options available. He took us for test drives and followed up by phone to answer any question and to offer help. James has a knowledge of Volvo trims and options that astonishes me. He explained how Volvo vehicles and options would address our needs. He described how certain features that we wanted such as lumbar support for the passenger seat are available by trim line and options.

I bought a vehicle from Koons Volvo two years ago. They were very polite then. But the true test of a good business is when the customer comes back for service. They fail in the area of service. I called several times and no one answered the phone or returned my calls. I had a coupon that said Saturday, June 29 only. It didn't say appointment. I drove from Severn, MD which is not around the corner. When I arrived no one said good morning and a guy behind the counter ask me why I was there, not may I help you. I showed him my coupon and he told me to leave because I didn't have an appointment. I asked for a manager and he claimed that he was the manager. Eventually a General manager came to speak with me because I insisted that some one help me. I was there from 10:30 AM until closing at 4:30 PM but I did get my vehicle serviced. I wish that I had not bought my car from there because I never want to go there again. If only some one had answered the phone the most horrible day that I had would not have happened. Poor service and rudeness from that guy behind the counter. He is not qualify to be a member of the human race.

I received 2 follow up calls reminding me to bring my car back in for service. I made the appointment with the dealership online, stated all the issues I was coming in for and even received another call about brining my car in and at that time I explained that I had made an appointment online and explained all the issues I was having with the car. So today, I bring the car in for my appointment and Talia, a CS Rep at the counter looked me up and said "Oooh, there's a lot going on with your car" and I agreed. The Bruce, another CS Rep proceeded to tell me that it sounded like the recall that they fixed that had initially passed, had since gone bad and probably wouldn't pass BUT they could not do anything about it because they were no longer a Kia dealer. I asked what my options were because I was scared to drive it back home because today, the smoke started coming through my vents. Bruce said to contact Buchanan Kia because they were very good and see if they could get the car in today to check the recall. Unfortunately, that dealer did not open until 9a so I had to wait an hour before I could call (my appt at this dealer was at 0800). Talia and Bruce did offer to me to sit in their waiting are with coffee and such until I could call the other dealer at 9a. I appreciated that (the reason for the 2 stars) and at 9a I called. I was informed that it did not sound like it was the recall issue either. This dealer was 20 additional miles away and they could not get the car in until Tuesday. I told Bruce that the other dealer said that he did not think it was a recall. Bruce just shrugged his shoulders. I asked, since I already had an appointment and it doesn't appear to be a recall issue, can someone still take a look at the car for me. Bruce proceeded to tell me NO, that they do not work on Kia's anymore outside of checking brakes, oil changes, etc. and proceeded to disregard me once again. I then asked Talia, if they do not do any work on Kia outside of the routine stuff, then why didn't someone call me and tell me prior to this appointment because it was clear the issues I was having on the appointment request that she saw when I checked in. Also, why not tell me they could do nothing when the person called me yet again to remind me to bring the car in and I told them the issues? They both proceeded to ignore me. I was floored. Yes, the gesture to wait in their waiting room was very nice and the recommendation for another dealer was nice, but in the end, it was the least they could do for wasting my time driving all the way there and not being able to even service the vehicle when all of the problems where listed in the appointment request and were visible. Thank goodness I did make it home but what if I hadn't. They should probably review service requests prior to a customer coming in and determine ahead of time whether or not they can service the vehicle, especially Kia's since they are not longer a Kia dealership. Also, I would recommend that they do not contact Kia owners for service reminders as often as they did with me or at all when their service for Kia is so limited. I wasted 2 hours of my day today, with no resolve, a car that still needs attention and a pit in my stomach wondering if I was going to have to call roadside assistance to get home. Do a better job now Volvo of Ownings Mills. Customer service is more than a nice waiting room with coffee, wifi and snacks. This all could have been prevented had someone just looked at the request even a day prior to the appointment. Frustrating.

I strongly recommend you see Ariel Marcus. My grandmother was in search of a vehicle. She walked in and told Ariel that she was looking for a vehicle with “power locks and air conditioning and she didn’t want to pay more than $10,000.” Ariel found the right fit for her in a 2016 Nissan Sentra. With not much time to spare, Ariel shared facts about the car and allowed my grandmother to test drive the vehicle after making sure she was comfortable with the vehicle. When I got up there to sign the papers, Ariel had the car pulled up, allowed me to test drive the vehicle and she became very personable during the test drive. Reece came to the airport to pick us up after our flight to Baltimore and took us to the dealership. They had sent the paperwork to my home beforehand, so the transaction consisted of dropping off the signed documents and the check, and picking up my new car. There was a tiny scratch on the bumper, and they sent it out to be repaired, which took less than an hour. Reece went over the electronics before we began our drive back to Florida, and gave me his phone number if I have further questions.
