I need all 4 brakes and rotors on my car, but you are way too expensive. You markup parts by 54% over what I can purchase parts for. Also, your labor rate is 21% higher than other local auto repair centers. If your price quote wasn't so outrageous I would have considered having you do the repairs, but I can save $250-$270 to have the repairs done elsewhere.

We brought our car in for an inspection sticker. The list of repairs necessary to get a sticker totalled $1100.00. We decided to get the repairs done at a different dealership for $427.00. Apparently they don't mark their parts up as much as Pape. So, we bring the car back to Pape to have them put on the inspection sticker. After re-inspecting the car, they found over $800.00 in additional repairs! Repairs not even related to the original inspection. So, do you suppose the first technician is partially blind or do you suppose that Pape had a grudge for me having the work done cheaper elsewhere? Either way, it's obvious that they just wanted to take me for a ride.


do NOT buy a used vehicle from these guys. absolutely horrible experience! I purchased a used Honda fit with a new inspection stickler. shortly after, a tire blew and there was no jack in the car to fix the flat. I called the company asking for a jack set and they said it was not their problem. I then found out the tire that blew was the wrong size and there was another tire that was also the wrong size with a huge bubble, that was ready to blow. they would not replace these tires for me. I brought it in for a "free" oil change and they did not change the oil, but left the cover to the oil tank off in my engine! Also, the battery died shortly after, and when I replaced it with another company they said it was the wrong size! They will fudge anything to sell a car and you will pay for it later.

I'd definitely recommend friends and family come to Pape, compared to my recent experience with Toyota on my last car this buying experience has been much better.

i am a very busy person, full time job and single mother of a 10 year old, i reached out to pape to purchase a more reliable vehicle for my son and self and they worked with me to make that happen. Mr. Cameron Rapatolla was great and very helpful! He kept in contact when my vehicle was on the delivery truck to be delivered! I was very excited to get the call that it arrived! Helped a single mom call in to talk to service about work they had performed and failed for the 3rd time. I explained it was the 3rd time and that she would like to have them at least look at it as a courtesy to see what was the problem this time. Like an automaton they told me, Yup for $110 per hour." I explained that this would be the 3rd time now having them repair the same problem and that she is a struggling single mom and asked for the courtesy of at least looking at it it at no charge. Same answer over and over. No heart, no emotion, and did not care. Taking advantage of a single mom...there should be a special place for people who do this....sad.

When I first walked on to the lot, Rocco came out and introduced himself and asked me if I had any questions, I did, then we went and test drove a vehicle, and did some numbers. Last Friday I took a friend to Pape Chevrolet to trade in her truck. We met with Edward Myers, Sales Professional. He was pleasant enough but had very little interest in selling my friend a new truck. His attitude was cavalier at best. I've been in the automotive industry since 1969. One thing I have learned over time, was the value of a customer, and a satisfied customer. When a customer came through my door, I made sure that they were treated as the most important customer to come in, and in fact they were. I relied on my customers to tell people how well they were treated, and for them to tell their friends. Eventually, their friends came to me for repair and that is how a successful business stays in business. Perhaps Pape Chevrolet can afford to let a sale and customer slip away, but that is a very poor way to conduct business, especially if you want to stay in business. The bottom line is that we went to a Ford dealership, were welcomed as potential customers and purchased a beautiful 2019 Ford pickup, all because the dealership went the extra mile to secure our business.

I had my truck in for service today . And the tech didnt put a seat cover over my seat. I didnt notice it when I left that there was grease and oil on the seat. When I got home. which is 53 miles from PAPE I called Kris which he said bring it right in they would clean it. Well I said I wasnt going to drive back to the city. I said I would clean it myself. I guess they should be aware the seats. I just wouldnt want it to happen to others.

Being "transplants" from New York we had never purchased a car in Maine before. We went to Pape Chevrolet to see what our options were in replacing our old car. We did not know if we wanted to lease or buy. We worked with Mike who showed us our options and patiently explained the benefits of buying and leasing. Once we decided to lease everyone went "beyond the call of duty" to make this happen for us. Even staying late so we could take the car home that night. Unfortunately, Pape was not able to fix the problem with my car. That is not why I'm giving them a two star rating. I'm giving them a two star rating because I set this service up online on a Friday. As soon as I was done I rec'd a phone call from a service rep advising they have a skeleton crew on the weekends but if all I needed was to have a key fob programmed they could probably take care of it. I advised I could come in on Saturday and went in. As I stated previously, they were not able to program the key so I scheduled an appt with Quirk. Well, Monday rolled around and I rec'd a text advising I had missed my appt. No, I did not miss my appt, the service rep who had me come in on Saturday instead of Monday didn't cancel Monday's appt. Paying attention to the little things makes a difference. TWO STARS.

Back window would not go up or down. So for $125 they looked at it. Said probably a broken wire somewhere. How long will that take to fix. Don't know we have to follow the wire. At $125 an hour I don't think so. Service department has always been poor for years.

I left my car in the lot , leaving my key envelope in the after hours drop box. 1030 AM the next morning, Chris calls advising my car was repaired and ready for pickup. Wonderful service. My 2004 Aveo died on the Maine Turnpike, well south of Portland, on a Sunday morning. AAA sent a tow truck, which delivered me to my home and the Aveo to Pape. I had bought it there and always had it serviced there. Repairs would have cost $2500, so Pape and I agreed the car wasn't worth it. I had already test-driven a Spark, so knew that was what I wanted. Frank, who had been cultivating me for years, was on vacation, so Scot stepped in and ordered me the blue, manual transmission Spark I wanted. He also arranged for me to borrow one of their used cars until my new one arrived. I purchased my Spark two days ago and am delighted with it. Pape took what could have been a very distressing situation and made it pleasant and convenient.

The worst customer service I have ever experienced in my entire life! First off, the service department (Kris Brady) tried to tell my mom she needed tires for an inspection sticker, stating that two were only 4/32. She declined and went to Bill Dodge, where they read them at 7/32 and put a sticker on it the very same day! Mind you she bought her $50k Tahoe from Pape Brand new. After purchasing my new Silverado HD, I brought it for service and was waiting for it (service aware I was waiting) and this was to diagnose a 4wd groan that randomly started while driving in 4x4 going approx. 30mph. So after it sat in the same spot for 2.5 hours, it disappeared into the shop. When I finally asked if it was done, I got "oh yea, its been done. They topped off the front diff, should be all set". They didn't look at a thing and just "topped of the fluid" which was full already (as I had checked prior to going in). After raising hell, I was sent to the commercial truck center to see if they could diagnose anything differently. After taking the front end apart and replacing a bearing in the diff, as well as updating a 4wd manual transfer case part (which I inquired about after tons of online research) it seemed to be better. after a few thousand miles I kept hearing and feeling a grind/vibration. I decided to try Quirk, where they ended up finally feeling it and doing a road force balance on all four tires to find two tire out of spec. One tire read 75, while the max allowance is 32 for a HD truck. They got GM to replace all four tires. After only 2k miles of driving it was throbbing again but very slight. I lived with it till the tire rotation 4k miles later and when rotated the throb is noticeable by sound and feel in the driver seat and steering wheel. I went back and had a test drive done (which I wasn't allowed to go on). waited 3+ hours in service to be told its "within normal driving/operating limits, have you tried the dealer you bought it at?". Big joke right? So after gritting my teeth I call Pape and talk to Gen. Sales Mgr. Bill Adams who was rude from the beginning of the conversation. I explained the situation and he said "well you've been told its normal....." I came back with "easy for you to say when you're not making the payment every month and hate even getting in your new truck, and you haven't driven it". He proceeded to tell me it was what it was and said theres nothing more we have to discuss, followed by hanging up on me! Never would I recommend anyone to deal with these guys, if the manager treats customers this way, its no wonder the service guy can treat people in the same regard. They've lost any future purchases from our family, and likely GM has as well. I am still stunned to say the least! Should've bought a beater with no payment and no warranty, cause having one when dealing these guys just isn't worth a dollar.

I saw a car online that I've been waiting to buy for 5 months and decided to call today. I called at 2 pm. Gave my offer, of course I got a "it's too low giggle". Then 30 seconds later the sales manager agreed to it. Within 3 1/2 hours I had a brand new car, with a killer interest rate at my door. The salesman Scot, and his wife drove the car from South Portland to Paraonsfield (borders NH) so I didn't have to haul the kids in. They even brought me the paperwork ready to go. Easiest car purchase I've ever made! Will definetly return when it's time to upgrade.

This was the WORST experience I have ever had at a mechanics. They were so rude it was shocking and I have a tough skin and am not easily surprised. I calmly pointed out a problem and in return they denied me service and actually told me to leave for complaining about the issue! I could understand if I had been rude, irate, or causing a scene but informing a business of a problem should NOT give them the right to treat you badly and kick you out.

Pape Chevrolet is AWESOME!! I had to bring my trailblazer in for a recall notice and oil change. While there the service tech Jamie found an issue and addressed the issue with Kris and myself. I am very thankful that Kris took the time to talk with me before making the repair. Jamie took the time after my truck was out of the shop to go over a few other items and make referrals as to what should be done and how. While at Pape on Friday, I started the process of buying another truck for my husband (as I love my trailblazer) and very thankful to Gary and Mary for ALL their assistance!! Shady salesmen and used cars priced thousands over book value stay away. Luckily I found an honest used car dealer got the same 2014 chevy equinox with more miles for a lot cheaper they wanted 20K plus destination charge and other charges I now own my equinox free and clear I would've put 11k down and then the loan was gonna be 12500.00. So I would've paid well over 12k more plus interest to get an equinox with 21k less miles that's insane. If you want a good deal from honest people go see bob and sue at bob's auto sales on route 111 in biddeford. As long as I'm living in maine bob's is the only place I will buy my vehicles from.

I was very disappointed that the sales manager broke his promise about fixing a problem that was reported within thirty days of purchase. He expressly stated that the repair was covered and then changed his mind a week later. I have purchased two personal vehicles here and had good experiences with both salesmen who helped me. However, after the hostile behavior from the sales manager towards us, I will not return here to buy a third vehicle. 7/1/19 Update: After a couple of months, the owner has replied to this review. I respect that he has faith and trust in his employees, but telling me that what we experienced is not accurate is not an appreciated response.

TYPICAL INCOMPETENT SHOP. Went in for a State inspection, paid $18.50 for them to say I need a turn signal switch. Went over to Quirk Chevrolet and they said I need 2 new tires (as expected) and 2 control arm bushings (also expected). I explained to Pape the quote from Quirk and they wouldn't reCheck the tires/bushings because the service guy has "20+ years of experience". I also explained how several other shops said I needed tires and I was fishtailing in the snow last year. They didn't record the tire measurements. There is no accountability. Guaranteed customer lost. I'll give Quirk my money any day.

Had an issue with my truck while traveling and brought it here to be checked out. Without an appointment they managed to squeeze me in and get me back on the road in a timely manner. Friendly staff, nice waiting area, and the ability to accept over hight vehicles. My truck sits at about 12 feet hight so it is normally hard to find a place that I fit.

Extremely condescending service department! Serving in the military and recently moved to the area. Took my vehicle in for warranty work and was told one of the issues wasn’t covered under warranty. Service rep was extremely rude, to say the least! I asked why the issue wasn’t covered and he said “It’s called a limited warranty for a reason, because it’s L-I-M-I-T-E-D” he sounded the word out as if I was some sort of idiot. He then tells me that maybe if I had bought the vehicle from them they would be able to help me out. I told him I had recently been stationed nearby and chose their dealership because of the proximity to my work. He said “Huh. Nice. Not covered.” The issue that they did “fix” wasn’t actually fixed at all, and when I took it back a week later for the same issue I was told it wasn’t covered under warranty!? Interestingly enough, when I took the vehicle to the Chevy dealer across town they repaired both issues without any mention of things not being covered under warranty. I will do my best to spread the word to everyone I meet to avoid this place at all costs!!

I took my 2015 Equinox in for its first service. I also have a 2012 Sonic and, due to my excellent experiences with Pape, I knew that I'd receive the same perfect service with this new vehicle. Service Manager, Chris, is always courteous, professional, warm, and friendly. He is attentive to details and to his customers. Promptness is also a strong point, as I was in and out within 45 minutes. Kudos to Pape once again!

I was recently in an accident and have always taken my vehicle to Pape for service , so I had my car towed to Pape's body shop. They were very helpful and arranged a rental for me. I also had them service my vehicle(oil and tire rotation) before I picked my car up. Mike Seeley was very helpful when I had to come back because my SVC tire monitor light came on and he immediately took care of it.We are very happy with Pape's service dept and the body shop.

I don't know the total number of vehicles I have purchased from Ben and Tim at Pape. I do know that I will continue to travel the 300 miles just to buy my next ones from them. Tim has driven a portion of the way to make a vehicle swap with me when I have traded. Both Tim and Ben have a great knowledge of the vehicles and the needs that I must have with all my purchases. The latestpurchase of my 2012 Tahoe was met with a challenge do to the fact that my 2012 Silverado had some front end issues. Papes service dept. needed to complete the repair work so they met me a part of the way with the new Tahoe and swapped my truck for the repairs. I have complete confidence that the repair work will be done correctly after voicing my concerns to Tim. I hope by the end of the summer my garage will have a new Z28 or ZL1 parked in it!! This is my 3rd 'Dealership' purchase. And the purchase of my 2012 Chevy Equinox went WAY above expectation. This has been the easiest purcahse of a vehicle I have ever had from a dealership. I literally was blown away with how smooth it went. I found the vehicle I wanted on a Saturday afternoon through Dealership the website. I applied for the loan through the same website, and by Wednesday, I was ready to drive it home. 1 TRIP!! Literally 1 trip to the dealership to have them look over my trade, take the Equinox for a test drive, and sign the papers. I was happy as can be. And my wife was equally happy with the purchase! She loves her new Chevy Equinox, and I'm happy she is a converted Chevy woman! Thank you to Scot Curit for one of the easiest transactions of my life! The customer service is wonderful. Take care of the car, offer transport to another location while car is being worked on so you don't have to hang out in there, honestly not really a bad place to be, lounge. They have wi-fi and computers to use.

Called Chris to make a appointment to get the oil changed and had a discount coupon I received in the mail also, he gave me almost any time I wanted and for a Saturday that was rare. This guy rocks in the service department and because of Chris I made another appointment next Tuesday to get more work done by his service dept. I think he is a fantastic customer oriented person that will go out of the way for a customer to make them leave happy. If you deal with Chris and for some reason you leave unhappy well you have mental issues cause this guy would give you the shirt off his back....Thank-You Again CHRIS....
