I had an absolutely wonderful experience here and am very happy with my purchase. I’m going through a divorce and needed to trade in my vehicle to get a vehicle in my own name. I had tried to purchase through two different dealerships and was denied financing. I contacted Ray Skillman Westside Auto Mall and worked with Barry who was able to get me financed for a brand new Mazda3. My salesperson Adam was amazing, and he really took his time in showing me the vehicle and making sure I was completely satisfied with my purchase. I felt as if I was dealing with good friends and family. I am a very satisfied customer and absolutely love my new Mazda :)

Brought my vehicle in to be serviced. Great customer service and quality work. They even called and notified me that there were 3 recalls on my vehicle and offered to take care of them immediately. I had taken my car for service in another state twice in the last six months and nothing was mentioned. Grateful for the staff and appreciate the great service.

Jami and James took really good care of us. Had a flat tire and needed it to get fixed ASAP. Called trusted Jami and got an appointment the next morning. James texted a couple of pics of the cause of the flat and a new tire was put on by end of the work day... If it wasn't for Jami we'd be stuck and likely overpaying. Warranties are good people!!!
A pleasant surprise to have a 1PM appt., and they took my car as soon as I arrived, did my 30,000 mile maintenance work, plus changed a bad tire from a pothole I hit the day before, and rotated my tires, all within about 1 hour! Staff was pleasant, and they provide a nice waiting room for their customers.
Only stopped in to look at the car, but before I knew it I was buying. Only because the people were great.
I know i bought a used vehicle with 150k miles on it, but to find a brake caliper sticking after 400 miles or so shouldn't have happened. It had been frozen for quite some time. Now, just over a month later, starter has went out. Seriously doubt if there was a thorough inspection done or it would have been found. Not happy with the mechanical condition of my used car coming from a big dealership. Sales process was went smooth. I was told that they had to put a new control arm on the vehicle, but that was just a sales tactic lie. No new control arm was installed.
The people here are professional, understanding, and cheaper than what I was quoted elsewhere. They got me in and out quickly after I destroyed a rim and tire on a pothole and were able to salvage both, saving me quite a bit of money. They also price matched a hubcap that I was able to find cheaper online. Great service and quick repair. I'll definitely be going back to the dealer next time I have any issue with my Hyundai.

I had lost air in my tire and I brought my car in without an appt and the service dept and they looked at my issue. It turned out that the tire would have to be replaced and the cost was more than I was able to pay at that time. Chris Kelly took care of me, since I only had the car for 3 days. I was very pleased at the way I was treated. I have bought my last 3 cards from Ray Skillman and all my service work I had done here. It is because of the quality of service I continue to experience. WELL DONE!
My experience here was pressure free, and anything within reason is a doable thing. So in another 10 years when I need a new car I know where I'm going! After a year of being a Ray Skillman customer the one word I can think of is consistency! I've been treated the same, have had the same standard of service and have felt like a valued customer!
While there were a few people ahead of us for financing, the staff made sure that we were comfortable, and explained our options after having to trade in our car. Got a 2018 Mazda 3 with the features I wanted and the milage was very low. Adam did a great job in working with us and keeping us informed of what was happening. My sister-in-law had a great car-buying experience with them in 2016, and they did not disappoint again this time. I will definitely go back when I need my next car.

Austin Havener is the greatest guy ever! He is not pushy, actually listens to what you say, tries to get you into the car that you LOVE. Boy do I LOVE my new Veloster. A big shout out goes to Chance Aubrey as well, he went over all the details of the loan and got me into the vehicle at a price I was comfortable with. All in all an excellent experience. I would gladly go back when it’s time for me to get another vehicle.
They take good care of my car, but the past two times I've made an appointment for tire rotation and oil change the mechanic has come in with a list of extra repairs. I typically have my tires rotated and oil changed every 5,000 miles. Ray Skillman Auto set my Mitsubishi to beep and say Routine Maintenance Required after just 3,000 miles. While I'm sure these repairs could help my car out, the cost has been over $250 each time. I do not know anything about cars and finding someone to help me decide which repairs and maintenance is required over optional repair and maintenance would be preferred. I'll be finding a mechanic that doesn't try to upsell me every 3,000 miles.
I wanted to take this time to show my appreciation to Caleb for being very professional, knowledgeable, patient , and honest with helping me make a decision on my vehicle this past weekend. I enjoyed the time we took on the test drive getting to know the car. I love my car and I think I made a great decision driving away with the help from Caleb. The worse service ever. They are your normal car salesman and finance staff lie and unwilling to help. Financed a car with all kinds of promises to fix items and once paperwork was signed and I drove off lot. No one wanted to fix the issues promised and when I went to GM he was rude and unhelpful as well. I signed up for auto pay and one week they would pull the payment out and then the next week there was some B.S. excuse why they could not but the would auto debt out of my account after that. The staff doesn't seem to know what they are doing when it comes to this dealership . I do not recommend anyone going here
Not a pleasant experience - They lack basic customer support ethics. After a confirmed appointment, I drive from 50 miles, only to find the car I was interested in has been committed to some one else. Affording a simple 20 cent courteousy call would have saved me 4 hours! not to mention disappointment.
Bought a barely-used 2018 Sonata for what I think was a very reasonable price. Friendly staff. Never felt pushed. What's more, our salesman, Henry, helped us get our XM antenna cover repaired after it fell off on our drive home from the dealership. Would I buy from them again? Yes.

I traveled 2 hours to purchase a lightly used Hyundai Elantra from this dealership after talking to Bobby on the phone. The car was exactly as described online and in the pictures. We came to a very reasonable price agreement over the phone and when I got there, the deal was exactly as he told me over the phone. I also spoke with Luke at the dealership while getting the paperwork done. He was extremely knowledgeable about the car and answered all my questions. They quickly got my paperwork done and I was on the road back home within an hour. I would highly recommend this dealership and it saved me about $2,000 and got me a lower interest rate which makes the 2 hour drive worth it.
We had an excellent experience with the entire staff at Ray Skillman Kia West. Great KIA service visit!!! Much thanks to Lindsey!!! Gave us a loaner, called us when our car was ready. No problems whatsoever. A turbo actuator crapped on our 2014 Optima. I bought the extended warranty so it was covered. Yippy! Maybe could have put our car through the wash since it was there for 5 days, but the car is fixed so we were thrilled. This was the best experience I have ever had at a car dealership. I own a new Mazda cx-5 and went to get an oil change and the staff were welcoming, talkative, and friendly. They were so personable and made my experience incredibly enjoyable. I drive 45 minutes to get there when I had a dealership closer, but will never go to a different one because of how well I was treated. James was so helpful, courteous, and funny. My boyfriend and I had a great conversation with an awesome employee who we believe is named Caleb. He helped make waiting 45 min for an oil change feel like 5 minutes.

Worst experience ever. Definitely Trump supporters if you have less than perfect credit I do not recommend going to this place and going to give me the runaround they going to run your credit and then when you come back they going to say they can’t but you want to Coke because guess what they want more money down they gave me the runaround where is the spirit ever don’t go here

I tried Ray Skillman on Shadeland but their customer service was horrible. I wanted to still use Ray Stillman due to their reputation and referrals so I decided to take a chance on the west side and they were great! I test drove a few cars and decided on a car that was in Avon. They had it delivered, cleaned and gassed up, ready to go in 1 day! Paperwork had to be redone a few times (1 issue my fault) but they worked hard to get me in the vehicle I wanted with a great warranty. Brad and Bryan were so helpful. They're good people, I didn't feel pressured and I truly appreciate that. They seemed genuinely happy to help and you don't get that kind of service too much anymore. So far, so good but I love my car!!

Ray Skillman is a dishonest dealership, they pray on those that are struggling, and once they con them into a car, they leave them with a lemon. Now, it wasn't Ray Skillman that sold the car, but the salesman that did represents him so its the same. They don't stand behind there cars, and leave you struggling to figure out how to get the car your stuck with fixed, even though you've only had it for a short time. And to make matters worse, you find out they knew about the problems before they sold you the car. I wouldn't deal with them if you want someone you can trust, they will leave you hanging.

Customer service from what I’m reading is great as long as you are the paying customer. Please avoid using the collision center if an insurance company is paying the bill. Really disappointed with our experience and will be posting this where ever I can do a review on RaySkillman collision. We used your shop as it was a Nationwide insurance approved shop. It was made clear that no one was concerned at all about customer service throughout the weeks it took for an accident far more minor than most. Rude and uncaring. It was clear that nationwide was the customer not my husband and I. Besides the unacceptable length of time it took and 3 separate dates given that work would be completed there was an issues that wasn’t present before getting hit. A loud noise under the hood and a shaking when going over 50 and when slowing down. Keith couldn’t be bothered when trying to talk to him about it twice. We were told it was unrelated to getting rear ended yet the place that we paid out of pocket to complete the repairs disagreed. After leaving the shop we had to pay an additional $500 elsewhere for repairs so that we could safely drive our vehicle. Very disappointing. I will be telling everyone I can to avoid using your collision shop because your shop doesn’t care about the people who own the cars it is repairing when insurance is paying and I won’t stop posting until something is done to rectify the situation! I will be happy to update my reviews if the situation is made right. In the meantime please beware, this shop was happy to let us drive off the lot with damaged motor mounts to the point that the engine could have fallen out at any time!

The check in process was spot on with their initial assessment of the issue. I was able to enjoy a leisurely stroll through the showroom as well as getting to watch some X-Files on TV while enjoying some cookies and coffee. The wait time was less than predicted and the checkout process was as efficient as check in. This has become my expectation from this dealership since they have set the bar so high on previous visits.
They illegally repossessed my car even though all my payments were up to date plus they damaged the hell out of it and cause me to miss work almost losing my job because of them.

This dealership is lacking on customer service skills! I called to inquiry about a vehicle to ensure they had it on the lot, before I made the 3 hour drive. Spoke with Clay and he advised he would call me back in 5 mins. After a couple hours, without a response, I called back. Spoke with Andrew and he told me he would call me in 5-10 mins. Never did! If the car was unavailable that is fine, just say that. They have lost the business! We will go to a their competitors who is willing to make a sale and who has amazing customer service! Response to the owner: I tested the number again this morning and it's clearly Ray Skillman on the other end. I would never leave a comment unless I had 100 percent facts.
Photos of the vehicle I inquired about and had arranged a 7 hour car ride to pick up were disastrously misleading. The pictures on the website conveniently left out a terrible blemish on the back drivers side quarter panel. After driving 7 hours to purchase this vehicle I was disturbed at the desscrepency between what was advertised and what I came to see at the dealership. An employee came out looking to help us and summoned a manager. This manager was bullish, confrontational and insistent that the false advertising on their website was not misleading or dishonest at all. If you value accurate advertising or representation i do not recommend paying this business a visit whatsoever. Do not waste your time getting duped by these crooks, you will not like the outcome.
I have mixed feelings about the location out south. First I had a great experience over all, financed two automobiles with them and I am please with both of them. And there service department is great. The downside was they switched my registered plates from my old vehicle to my newly purchased one (I assumed since it was done by the dealer that it was okay). They did not give me a paper tag. I got pulled over for falsified plates and was told by the police officer that I should have registered my vehicle within 30 days however the document I signed at the dealership commits to getting them to you in 45 days and yep I was ticketed for not having my vehicle registered as well. Also I referred my son, he filled out an app online; never got a follow up.

I purchased a car in the buy here pay here department at the Ray Skillman West Side Auto Mall. I ended up in the service department 8 times in the first two months. Every attempt was made my the service manager (Patrick) and buy here pay here manager (Theresa) to fix the issues on the car. The only concern I had, was how long were we going to go through the vicious cycle before I was able to be confident in the car I purchased. Theresa and Patrick listened to every concern and tried their best to rectify all the issues. It took a while but finally Theresa provided a very pleasing solution to the issue. I am very please now and would recommend the lot to anyone who is seeking a used car. The review would different if the solution was not successful. Kudos to Patrick and Theresa!

Tried to get my scratches fixed which were caused by something dinging my car and I was told no. I paid money for a warranty which covered this and they don't want to honor it. I was in there for an oil change a little over a year ago and they told me I needed new front brakes. I had just gotten new brakes a month prior to the oil change. Of course that was the last time I got an oil change there. Ray Skillman tried to swindle me and of course lie to me. They just want your money and they don't care how they get it. Keep reading reviews people their finance department lies about their warranties.

This was my first car-buying experience as a single woman. You hear horror stories about car dealerships ripping off women who don't know much about cars. Well, I did my research to avoid that. But even if I hadn't, I believe I would have received the same fantastic service. I was treated fairly and respectfully. All the team members were very friendly and professional and took the time to answer all my questions. Austin was very knowledgeable about all the features of my car and was very personable and down to earth. Mr. Wade, the finance guy, was friendly and very patient as he answered all my detailed questions about financing my Mazda 6. Not once did anyone there talk over my head or act condescending or dismissive in any way. I feel like these are a trustworthy group of people who I would refer anyone to. As a matter of fact, my mom is planning to buy her next car from them.

I stopped by this dealership to buy a "cash car" for my son who is a teenager and needed something reliable yet low priced. The sales person Jon showed me a trade-in vehicle that may be just what I was looking for. Jon was nice, but he consulted with his Manager for permission to adjust the price due to obvious issues with the vehicle however this manager was NOT very welcoming at all! This manager seemed very irritated that Jon even approached him about a price adjustment and he treated me very rude. The manager said that the price on the car was NEGOTIABLE, HOWEVER, when I wanted to negotiate due to the obvious maintenance issues, he refused!! This manager spoke to me in a very condescending manner on top of it all! You would have thought I asked the manager to give me the car for free by the way he responded so rudely!! My question is "why say the price is negotiable" if you're not really willing to negotiate? Not to mention the car had $160k miles, all the service engine lights were on in the dash when I test drove it, and it was pretty rusted! Even still for a teenager I may have considered it but at a better price point - since obviously I was going to have to invest money after the sale to get it up to speed! If I were the manager I would have been glad to get rid of it and not have my dealership name attached to it! I supposed he figured that since I was asking about this beat up used car that I could never be a potential new car buyer. Boy was he wrong! I only buy for myself new cars however I will NEVER step foot to buy anything from this dealership EVER. I have posted my experience on social media platforms as well to warn others. Here is the lesson in this from someone who has their Masters Degree in business & Marketing: Just because someone comes to your dealership who appears as if they have no value.....don't assume its true and judge a book by its cover! A great experience by the customer over something small can create a profitable event later for the dealership. RaySkillman, send this gentlemen to class for Management Training. He has become too complacent.

I have purchased 5 vehicles from Ray Skillman and all the vehicle were in great condition. I have purchased a vehicle from other dealers and at some point was very unhappy with the service dept at other dealers. When going into the service dept with Ray Skillman there's never an issue and the employees respect everyone no matter the demographics of the people. Have in Indianapolis, that is hard to find. If you by from Ray Skillman you will be very happy.

I have an 09 CX-9. I replaced the transmission with at a brand name transmission chain. The experience was so awuful, I obviously was set in my belief that I’d never even so much as even look at another Mazda. After dealing with Ray Skillman, seeing the professionalism, technical acumen, people and relationship skills, I beilieve it’s possible I’d go back. Thanks for taking the high road guys!!

Was in there on July 2. Met with Patrick and he provided excellent customer service. He was patient with me while I waited for a wrecker. What I am unhappy with is the mechanics telling me the incorrect thing. Upon inspection, I was told it was JUST the Shock Mount and shock was broken and needed replaced and could not be driven. After a $180 tow bill, it was inspected by another mechanic and it ended up being WAY more than those two parts. I understand mistakes can happen, but make sure that myself and other customers are being told the correct things are broken. Also, the parts that were actually broken were purchased and fixed for almost half of your $560+ quote!

Car wouldn't start or hold a charge....luckily it was just the battery connector that needed to be replaced as it was heavily corroded. Whew...great diagnosis and repair saving me tons!

Don't go! The people mess up account payment posting and they will REPO your car for being less than two weeks behind, even though you tell them your payday is in a couple days. SAVE YOURSELF! If you ever switch jobs or company changes often ..SAVE YOURSELF! They will repo your car towards the end of your loan. Their cars have mechanical issues after 1 year even with good upkeep real oil changes, tires, plugs, etc. SAVE YOURSELF!!! DON'T DO IT!! They screwed over me and the person who referred me. The mechanics messed up her car during their repair, and they refused to fix it. She had to buy a whole new car elsewhere.

Really sick of bringing my car that i just bought 6 mnths ago up here to get fixed constantly. If i wanted a car to fix I would have kept my old car and not had a car payment. Here again now bc they said they needed more time to see whats wrong with it...3xs time now for the same issue.....update.so got car back jerked on me again. So issue isnt fixed after 5 days. So i will take it somewhere ...dropped off the rental car they provided bc they had no loaners...which i paid a deposit for.. Which i need my deposit back.they didnt even call enterprise to pick it up ...i called to see when my deposit would be refunded and thats when she told me noone told them it was dropped off..seriously!! Such an overall nightmare of dragging my 1 yr old out in the early am to get car dropped off late to work issues not resolved after multiple trips... Just a nightmare
Overall, I was very pleased with my first new car buying experience. I didn't feel rushed and they even went above and beyond finding my car. There were a couple of missed opportunities (service walkthrough, etc) but they did a really great job of getting the car I wanted. Brad gets 5 stars just because he was gracious the entire time and kept me up to date. Recommend for sure. Purchased from Hyundai.
Re: Ray Skillman Hyundai West I've lived on the Southside for 57 years. Do you realize how many dealerships I pass CHOOSING to come to Ray Skillman Auto Mall HYUNDAI WEST? You already know--dozens. The staff here is KIND (you know how rare that is in this industry? In today's it's-all-about-ME world?) They are helpful. And what an understatement that is. I can't say enough about Chris in the Service dept. And ALL the others I've dealt with. And salesman Michael Monroe--awesome, patient, knows his stuff. And Brian Schultz (sorry if I got your name wrong!) in financing--truly will search, scrape, and FIND a payment program that works for you. I'm telling you, these people are good people. Won't steer you wrong (lol, see what I did there?). My credit is dinged up, but they found me a great deal on a great vehicle. HEY MICHAEL MONROE, EXPECT MY SON DEREK AND MAYBE MY DAUGHTER DELILAH. And that says alot, folks. Would I send my children there if I didn't believe in their integrity and dog-with-a-bone mission to get the the best deal for them? Very Professional and Efficient with handling a transaction. They got me the car that I wanted at a very competitive rate. I was very impressed with the detailing provided for the new car to avoid any cosmetic issues while the car is at the dealership.
The Mazda service department was very helpful in dealing with an appearance defect involving the paint on my Mazda 6 wheels. They arranged to have all 4 wheels replaced at no charge to me, and provided me the free use of one of their vehicles while they did the work. I have had my Mazdas serviced by them for the last 10 years and have always done a great job of taking care of my vehicles.
