I bought a used car here under their "mechanics special" program so this may be a somewhat unique review. I ended up putting about a grand into the car after purchase but fully expected that as I got what I feel is a fair deal. I love that kind of program myself. They take in a car that won't be worth running it through their shop bc of the year or mileage and just sell it as is. I work on cars so that was perfect for me. I dealt with Caleb and Drew and I can't say enough about how awesome these two were. If you're interested in anything Ray Skillman has I recommend taking to them first. The negotiation and purchase was actually fun. They still made money I got a good price. Win win

I walked in to visit the parts department regarding my old car, but also wanted to ask about any available deals on a new car since I was nearing the end of my lease. After an admittedly "bad" offer, they were able to work with me on great deal. I arrived in a 2016 sport model and left in a 2018 touring model in the color I really wanted for only ~$30/month more.

I had an excellent experience at this dealer. I was on a long driving trip and needed an oil change and tire rotation. After calling another dealer in the area who couldn't get me in I spoke with Daren and Ray Skillman who was very upbeat and eager to make an appointment for me on short notice. When I arrived Daren was just a accommodating and friendly as he had been over the phone. The service was done quickly with high quality oil (Valvoline full synthetic), I received a 'report card' on my vehicle (everything good) and Daren applied a $10 coupon for the service! I wish that I could transplant this dealership to where I live....the service was excellent all around!!

Purchased a CX-5 a week ago. So far I can only speak of the buying process. Bill Pennington is the reason I give this process 5 stars. He seems to genuinely have an interest in cars and fitting the right car to the buyer. He is exceptionally polite and gracious. When it came time to get a quote for my trade they were fair. I'd just been to another dealership that insulted me. I felt like I had Bill's undivided attention, but he wasn't pushy, just really helpful. The service area seems clean and comfortable. They gave me a lot of coupons for future oil changes. The financing process didn't take any longer than normal. I traded out of a Honda CR-V for this CX-5 partly because of a poor service dept. experience at the Honda dealer near me and partly because this CX-5 has such a comfortable, quiet ride.

Took our car in for service. We were told that the $100 diagnostic fee would be applied to the service. When we picked up the vehicle we were charged for the service and the diagnostic. I complained that we were told the diagnostic charge would be included and they just acted like they couldn't do anything about it. We won't be going back.

Kyle Lester is the sales representative I dealt with at Mazda West. He was very pleasant to deal with and not pushy at all. While he asked me if there was any way they could get me in a new car the first time I visited the dealership I told him I wanted to look at a couple of other brands before coming to a decision, and he was respectful of my position. Of the 3 dealerships I visited Kyle was the only sales person who spent time with me explaining to me the various options on the car and how some of the advanced technology features worked. One sales rep at another dealer didn't really know much about the advanced features, and while a third sales rep seemed to know about the features of the car at which I was looking he wasn't too interested in spending much time showing me how they worked. I really appreciated the fact Kyle was willing to spend the time showing me the car in detail knowing he wasn't going to sell me a car that day. While it wasn't the primary reason I ended up buying the Mazda over the other 2 brands at which I looked, it did influence my decision to buy from Ray Skillman rather than visiting other Mazda dealerships in the area. I much prefer to deal with sales people who know their product and are willing to spend the time explaining its functions to me. He has also followed up with me a couple of times since I bought the car to see if I had any questions about its operation and functions. Overall my experience was excellent.

I have bought my wife a 2013 Hyundai Sonata, I bought 2010 MAZDA 6, I have 2 sons that bought New cars from Ray Skillman West Side Auto mall a 2016 Hyundai Veloster & a 2016 Nissan Versa...I have taken over the years at least 15 family and friends to purchase cars from Ray Skillman West Side Auto Mall...Today I took my middle son there to upgrade his 2013 MAZDA 3, to a 2018 MAZDA 3...And the staff there would not fix the trade to accommodate my son...he requested a monthly payment of no more than 400$....they claimed that the best they could do was 467$ a month...I FELT USED AND TAKEN ADVANTAGE OF..after years of creating business for this dealership...I WILL NEVER BUY a car form Ray Skillman AGAIN!!! nor will I take any family members, or friends to purchase cars from RAY SKILLMAN AGAIN!!! I realize that this Dealership will continue to do business...But not from JOSEPH MATTINGLY!!!

I just bought a new Mazda 3 at Ray Skillman West. Marc Barrientos was an extremely helpful salesperson. Marc took the time to explain all the features on my new car and answered every question I had. He also made sure that the car had every component and feature that it was supposed to come with. Although they couldn't track down the spare key, they promised to order me a new spare key free of charge if they can't track it down soon. This was the most pleasant experience I've ever had buying a car. The finance person, Troy, was also extremely helpful. I highly recommend this dealership to anyone who is interested in buying a Mazda. If you want to buy ANY vehicle from ANY Ray Skillman dealership, give Marc Barrientos a call, and tell him I recommended you!

I bought a 2016 Mazda6. I came in knowing exactly which car I wanted. Harrison Brown greeted me as soon as I got on the lot. We took the car for a test drive and then started the negotiation process. Harrison informed me of some rebates that I did not know about, so I felt like he was helping me to get the best deal possible. Various warranties and add-ons were offered, but not in a pushy way. I'm not a big fan of the "choose the rebate vs the best interest rate", but this is not the fault of the dealership. The in-car training after the purchase was a big help for me since my newest vehicle is 10 yrs old. All in all, it was a positive experience.

This review is only targeted towards the service/parts department as I have dealt with them only and didn’t have the chance to deal with the sales department. I first visited this Mazda service department in 2010 and dealt with the amazing James Stephens, he always took care of all my concerns regarding my Mazda 6, the car came out amazing, he explained in detail regarding my repairs and answered thoroughly all my questions. Very polite and pleasant person. I sold my Mazda 6 many years ago, so I didn’t need to visit the service department again, until I recently bought another Mazda 6. I went there asking about the car’s transmission service and the underbody guard that goes under the engine. I met Jeff Hodge and despite that I didn’t bring the car, I asked him about the underbody guard and the transmission, lo and behold, he was super helpful in answering all my questions, he took me to the parts department to search for the plastic underbody guard, he explained in detailed the flushing process of the transmission, answered all my questions and concerned. The service department has the utmost customer service for many years and the best prices too. I highly recommend them and I will continue to visit them for my car’s needs despite that I live all the way in Noblesville.

Really great buying experience here. Extremely courteous sales and service. You really feel like they are on your side unlike a lot of places, which is a great feeling. I came in quite late the day I bought my 2015 Mazda3, and ended up leaving with my new Mazda 3 only an hour and half later. Emails from the service manager and follow up emails from the sales staff to ensure there are no problems. I was more than satisfied with my purchase experience here and would easily recommend friends and family and anyone else looking to get a new or used Mazda. You get gifts for referrals as well (I think it was $200 if you refer someone who buys a car). I've heard good things about the service department here as well. As I said I received an email 2 days after getting my Mazda 3 from Jeff the service manager, just asking if I had any questions, etc. Which made me feel great and have no doubt about who to contact for any maintenance or recall/TSB concerns with the vehicle. The sales staff should also explain some of the important service stuff to you as well. And lastly of course -- the car. The 2015 Mazda 3 Sport i 2.0 liter, 155hp, 150 torque. The test drive felt great but you'll really enjoy this car more over the next few weeks. I opted for the automatic because I wanted my wife to be able to drive it at some point without having to teach her stick in a new car. The skyactive-drive 6spd automatic Mazda designed is really great with an extended lockup range for the lockup clutch that keeps the transmission locked directly to the engine (like a standard transmission) nearly all the time at speeds over 5mph. This is the most direct feeling automatic I've ever driven because of this. I really wasn't expecting to like the feel of the automatic, after driving a standard for 5+ years, but it is quite good. It doesn't feel like a big slush machine. It shifts very quickly going up the gears and feels great when you give it some extra push on the gas. Plus you do have the option of shifting it manually which does come in handy during winter and if you want to save some gas. I couldn't be more satisfied with this vehicle. This is the first Mazda I've owned and I'm completely sold.

My wife bought her car from Ray Skillman West and that was a pleasant hassle free experience overall. However, the service experience has been horrible. First of all, the technician forgot to properly replace the oil drain plug after a routine scheduled oil change. Thankfully no major damage was done as I noticed the large puddle of oil on my garage floor and called my wife to return promptly with the car. They car was towed to the dealership and the problem rectified. The second event happened after the car started making a crackling sound at start up. The dealership diagnosed a faulty driver's speaker and the car was taken inonce the part was ordered. My wife picked up the car and the sound was still there on start up. This is not a subtle sound and is very prominent when the car is started so I wonder it it ever tested. She promptly took the car back in and they rechecked the car and found that the tweeter needed replacement. An oh by the way, they also blow out the factory radio amplifier in the process. So we are now waiting for new speakers and an amplifier. Thank goodness the car is under 1 year old and still under warranty. I think these over sights are unacceptable for any car shop and worse so for a dealershi and I question the integrity and expertise of this dealership's service department

Earlier this year my daughter purchased a pre-owned Mazda from Skillman Mazda West. The experience was superb. Moreover and more recently, Mazda West performed in another extraordinary way. A couple of weeks ago it was night and my daughter needed to get home to Kokomo from Indy. Her car would not start. The onboard computer "message" was foreign to her so she consulted her owner's manual but to no avail. She called Mazda and talked to Brian (I think that's the name she remembered.) She explained the situation and he immediately asked if she was safe. Wow! For the next several minutes Brian and my daughter went through some troubleshooting steps. Brian's conclusion was that the issue was with the battery, and he suggested having the car jump started. Further, he asked if he could send someone to help her. She declined the offer since she had jumper cables. She just needed to know what color went where. The car started. In the earlier conversation Brian had asked that my daughter give him a call to let him know if she was able to start the car. She called Skillman/Brian to report success. He was grateful for the call and the positive outcome. He offered to be of any help if needed in the future. The bottom line for me (besides a functioning vehicle) as a father is the care that was demonstrated by Brian from Ray Skillman. There was a concern for my daughter's safety, an interest in the outcome of her efforts, and an offer to be of any further assistance. Yea for Ray Skillman Mazda West. And by the way, there have been no further incidents.

When I was looking for a car I went to several dealerships of several different car manufacturers and the employees at Ray Skillman Mazda West were by far the most knowledgeable and helpful. Barry was the classiest and most professional, no pressure car salesmen I have met. Barry knew not just about Mazdas, but other brands as well and how the Mazda compared. He knew horsepower and other specs without having to look them up (another dealership I went to gave me completely wrong information about the car they were trying to sell). Before test driving I was shown the basics of the car (turn signal, wipers, lights, how to adjust the seat, etc.). This may sound rudimentary, but when test driving at a different dealership it started raining heavily and I couldn't find the wipers, so the extra minute it took to show me where things were was appreciated. All of the employees I encountered were nice and knowledgeable, the next time I am looking for a car, I will definitely keep Mazda in mind.

Her first couple times Barry was her sales person. She absolutely loved working with him because of his professionalism and quick wit. If you are looking for honorable sales people that stick to their word when deals are made on automobiles then do not count on Ray Skillman Mazda. I completed a deal with them on a car over the phone, put down a deposit on the car, started the finance process and all but paid for my car when I noticed about $1800 extra in the total price of the car. They quoted me a price "out the door" but that was not consistant with the final price I was supposed to pay. When I caught them on it and told them they had gone back on their deal and if this was the case I would not be purchasing a car from them they offered no assistance, no explaination, and nothing more than a "sorry you wasted your day and your time working on this but there is nothing we can do." I informed them I would be reviewing them online and contacting mazda and they became angry at me stating there was no reason for me to do this because of a little "misunderstanding." While they had the car I wanted they had poor communication and less than desirable business interaction. Tonya, the internet sales manager who dealt with me was very nice but had poor communication skills and Mike, in sales, was less than helpful, angry, yelled at me, and treated me with little respect or empathy. Tim in the business office was also helpful to me. If my family had run their business with such sloppiness and disrespect to the deals they made they would have lost clients by the truckload. I would recommend avoiding this car dealership and saving your time, money, and effort for somebody that truly deserves your business.

I have purchased 2 new cars from this dealership in the last few years. I routinely have my car serviced here, and the service department has always done a nice job. While I enjoy the cars, I have doubts as to the sales side of this dealership and I do not anticipate shopping here again. Things often seem a bit slipshod with the sales and finance department, and I have multiple times had to go out of my way to see that things are done properly or fixed that are wrong. I am still waiting to be refunded multiple car payments from my old car (traded) that I was assured would be "no problem". I don't know about you, but I do not have time to be doing the job that these folks already should be taking care of. These things sure wouldn't fly in my business.

bought My brand new Mazda 3 in 2016 , My 1st complaint is that they make You pay for zebart paint protection and window tinting . That adds about a thousand dollars to the sticker price that need not be their . What a rip off , Second complaint . I always took my Mazda back to ray skillman for oil changes . My last service with them I waited over 2,5 hours just to do a oil change and I had a appointment. Car was up on the lift for hours . Then My final complaint , I took my car in to a independent shop for a oil change and found out that Mazda rounded off the oil pug head and I had to replace that . Mazda even tryed to sell me a cabin air filter I just replaced 6 months ago . Total rip off and incompetent service . I WILL NEVER be back EVER ! In response to Ray skillman the zebart and windows tinting were NOT optional and I have the windows sticker to prove it ! of course You could have looked up my records at Your dealership but I guess that would prove my point , NOT optional

I took my mazda there for a oil change and tire rotation. They forgot to reset the tire system so warning sign keeps turning itself on the dashboard. I called them twice but no help. All they told me was to not to worry about it, because it would turn itself off. Never did. Also my car started to pull to the left when driving after their tire rotation. I needed to take my car to Firestone to fix their mistake and cost me even more than oil change. Never again.

I purchased a new 2015 Mazda from Nick Exline. It was very easy to work with Nick in the buying process. He was very straight forward and "real." I didn't detect anything that looked sounded like high pressure sales. He went the extra mile to get answers to some of my questions. The thing that really showed me that he was in my corner was that after I wrote the check and went home, I thought that they might have forgotten an additional discount that they agreed to earlier. Nick came in on his day off to turn over the keys to me, run me though the basic operations of the car, and check on that additional discount, which he got for me. In all of my years of buying cars, I can't remember a sales person that worked hard on my behalf as Nick. Another thing--the staff in the service department and the parts department are top notch people. I have a tendency to hang out there longer than I should, joking around with them. They do a great job of taking care of my previous Mazda. I bought a Mazda3 hatchback. I'm getting around 35 mpg with around 60% highway driving and 40% around the city. I'm surprised how well the 2.0 engine does, how smooth it is, how responsive the transmission is, how helpful the rear camera is, and how many times already the beeping warning system when I try to change lanes with a car in the next lane, and when I'm trying to reverse with a car behind me. I didn't consider any other make since I was totally happy with the service and staff of Skillman Mazda (west side).

I recently purchased a CPO 2014 Mazda 6 GT from Ray Skillman Mazda West. Hayden Cook was my sales person and was a very personable and knowledgeable individual. Of all the vehicles I have purchased, this sale was handled efficiently and was a pleasurable experience. While I consider myself very knowledge as it concerns new technology, I did have some questions as to how some of the gizmo's worked and Hayden was able to clearly demonstrate their functions. The reason I came to Ray Skillman was their service department. I traded in my 2004 Mazda 6s, which I owned for almost 11 years. The last 8 years I have had it serviced at Ray Skillman. Their service managers have never pressured me into extra service work. The work was always completed correctly the first time, nothing leaking, nothing loose or missing. No second trips. I've always try to take my vehicles back to where I purchased them for service if my car and I have been treated well. I have no doubt that the service department will continue to meet my expectations and I would recommend that you should ask for Hayden Cook when looking to purchase a vehicle at Mazda West.
