The best place in Indiana to buy a car! Jay Leonard has the largest used inventory of vehicles in Indiana. All of his cars are hand picked and is his business is built on repeat customers. I highly recommend finding your choice of vehicle on any of his large inventory lots!

I used to be a regular customer, but I'll NEVER return. This repair which was quoted to me at one price was almost doubled. I was given a loaner while the work was done. The loaner ended up being less drivable than my own car; it broke down on me. The loaner was towed back to the dealership, where no one even apologized for any of the inconveniences they have caused. There was no offer of discounts for the trouble. Instead, they REFUSED to give me my own car back until my insurance check arrived. They have zero willingness to help the customer, and will take you for every penny they can. STAY AWAY!

No pressure salesman! When I went in to test drive the Ford Fusion, I explained what I was there for and that I would not be purchasing a vehicle that day. Brian Ricketts (our salesman) was very understanding. Took the car for a drive, Brian took some contact information from me, I stated I would be in touch with him on Wednesday and I was on my way. I feel my salesman and I started off on the right foot, had a few laughs(don't forget the plate! ), and again, no pressure to purchase that day. As promised, I did let Brian know we would be back and scheduled an appointment. My husband, myself, and Brian took the car out for a drive. Again, we all shared some laughs and discussed business. Non pressure! Our purchasing experience had to be one of the quickest I have ever experienced! We knew what we wanted in trade, we already had financing, and the sale price was a heck of a deal! We really enjoyed our experience with Preferred Auto, and most of all our Salesman Brian Ricketts! Being new to the sales team, we started and ended with a positive relationship! We never felt pressured at anytime (except when discussing fair trade price on our vehicle and coming to an agreement). I would definitely go back and do business again! The service center is trash. My car had zero problems, until I took it here for an oil change. 30 min later my turn signals had went out and a message popped up on my dash saying "engine too hot, shutting off a/c". So I pop the hood and there is what I thought was oil all over the inside of my hood. Seeping out of my engine, in puddles where it could fill and zero coolant in my car. So I call them and they say bring it in. All they have to say is that it's not their fault and tell me I need 1,300$ for transmission parts. But I didn't need any of that before I came into them :-) You would think if you take your vehicle to the dealer you got it from, you wouldn't have to worry. Will never return here.

We just bought a car here and we were so happy with them. From the beginning we worked with Matt on the phone, from the first day, he was super nice. The day we actually went to see the car, just my husband and son went to test drive etc, everyone was outstanding. They were very busy that day so it did take awhile, to get paperwork around but they even fed them lunch, got them drinks etc. There was even a few small things they fixed, no problems. I will definetly return next time we buy a car. It was just nice to be treated as an importance to them. We were extremely impressed and will highly recommend them.

My husband and I have been searching for a specific car in a specific color and found what we were looking for at Preferred Auto in Ft. Wayne. The salesman that we met, Jason Barnes, was wonderful! When we arrived, the car was located on another Preferred Auto lot and he immediately made arrangements to move the car to the Illinois Rd dealership for us. We ate lunch and came back and it was ready for us, clean and it almost perfect condition as advertised. We took the car for a ride and loved everything but the price. :) We attempted to offer a discount which was still a little over our budget so we didn't buy the car. I want to make it clear that the experience was very pleasant. The dealership was large, clean, modern, and thriving... and Jason was super nice and very professional. He answered our questions and we would definitely go back another time to find a car. My husband and I drove though several states looking for this special car and visited 4 dealerships. 2 were disasters and 2 were wonderful. After this, I will always check the reviews before traveling many miles to find a car. I looked at the dealership's reviews in hindsight and the clues were there.

What a freaking joke! They reached out to us, wanting to buy our car back, we wet in, what a joke and waste of time. After all was said and done, after they backed out the deal, it was them who wouldn't even answer their phones, sending all our calls to a generic voice-mail box and it was them who refused to even answer the simplest question as to why. Bad business practice. Don't waste your time with these shady guys, all they do is lie to you, which is pretty sad because we were repeat customers, but NOT anymore.....so pathetic they wouldn't even answer their phones. Spineless bastards. Go somewhere else if you are looking for a car.

I had the best experience today. I bought my Volkswagen Passat TDI SE from Jeff in February and have been very pleased with my purchase. Well just last night my car wouldn’t start due to what I thought was the battery. So I went and got the codes checked and supposedly there was an alternator issue (according to auto zone) so I brought my car to the Illinois road location where I bought the car the next morning just to be safe and have it checked out and be sure I wasn’t being hustled. As I’m waiting in the lobby (searching prices on alternators and batteries because as we all know, those aren’t cheap) I was approached by the gentleman helping me and he stated that The good news was it was only my battery, and the even better news was that when I bought the car, a new one was put in so I was still covered under warranty. Talk about taking a sigh of relief. Got a new battery and got out of there without paying a dime. You guys are great so professional and kind and definitely have had me satisfied from day one. So thank you!

There service center is a joke tires that are dry rotted about to burst and they said that the tires are good couple years left on them but when i talk to several mechanics incuclding my tire guy im assured that the tires are junk.. take your vehicle somewhere that actually cares not send you on your way with tires that could possibly cause a bad accident all they care about was the sale of the vehicle and nothing more its my 3rd and last vehicle from preffered auto ill take my hard earned money else where

Recently my mother and father in law went in to purchase a vechile. After going to several other dealerships we were advised to go see Jason Brown. Jason and Brian Gettys went above and beyond to find a car that they loved and could afford. Jason was even kind enough to sit in vechiles so we knew my father in laws height wouldn’t be an issue. I would recommend them to all of my friends and family. I can’t wait until our family needs another vehicle and to be able to deal with them again.

Traded in a vehicle been over a month ago and it is still not paid for. Then I go into resolve the problem and they were in no rush to fix the problem. I've now made another payment on vehicle that I should not have with me also losing money in interest daily. It has effected my credit score showing debt I do not posses. I would highly recommend not doing business with them so glad I didn't get my loan through them.

I purchased a car from them this year and it was what I needed and they were very helpful in the approval process. I had a few mechanical concerns I had initially addressed to the sales team in Auburn and also the manager of that location and I felt I kinda got blown off. They pretty much told me that I bought it as is and it whatever is wrong isn't covered by any warranty or obligation of theirs. So when I bought the car they stated that everything they buy is inspected and fixed before selling and said there were no problems with the car. First off....I complained enough they set up an appointment for me for another inspection on Lima road. Which they already knew why I was coming and just like I though nothing was wrong with my car and the tires had no issues. 1. The rear tires were shot and had unrepairable sidewall damage and leaking needing air daily. I had to fix myself out of pocket. 2. When I would stop, take off or turn the wheel it would make a clunking noise all through the front end. Ended up being struts, links and the whole steering shaft. All of these issues were missed by the first and second inspection and all hope of getting anyone to admit that somewhere along the way before I got the car someone dropped the ball seemed impossible. All I wanted was what was fair. To pay for something I thought I was getting. A car in good working condition with no problems as stated when I bought it. Nothing more. So I went over the heads of all who were ignoring me and finally got ahold of Ron Stevens and he was very professional and honest was willing to hear me out and take action. With out him this would have been another bad experience with a used car lot. I am very happy with my car and the level of care I was provided with by the guys at Illinois road location. Also want to thank Brian in the service center for awesome service.

This review is for preferred auto credit on Lima road! I have to say the Sales and Service dept is very helpful. (I had no credit activity in 10 yrs) As a buy here pay here situation I paid full value and higher interest. The truck had a couple of normal wear and tear maintenance issues in the 18 months I owned it. (to be expected with moving parts LOL). Overall I would HIGHLY recommend purchasing a used vehicle from them. You might pay a bit more, but with the rewards program and helpful sales and service dept., You will get your money's worth. I bought my second truck from them because of the Sales dept worked with me to find the truck I wanted at a good price. I love that truck! I will continue shopping for vehicles with Prefered they earned my business!!!
