Tom did a great job of making my first purchase of a brand new car fast and easy! He would email or call me with updates of when it should arrive and would always answer my questions right away. I bought my car in for service and ended up getting a third party repair service involved. Who allows this to happen?? Basney!! It took 3 weeks to resolve my issue, about 2 1/2 longer than expect. I just had to leave a review! The team at the body shop were amazing!! Ricky J went way above and beyond to help me with all concerns! My car had some rear end damage and the repairs were done perfectly! On top of that, they swept and wiped down the interior and thoroughly washed and wiped the outside. I took my car home cleaner then I brought it in. I will definitely go back and will tell everyone what a wonderful experience I had. Thank you!!

THIS REVIEW IS FOR THE SERVICE DEPARTMENT ONLY. I had the service department give me a oil change during the summer of 2016. In Feb 2017 I got another oil change at a highly reputable local repair shop and they told me the last people to do my oil change tightened the filter too much and now my rear seal is blown out. I was able to put some Lucas stop leak in there to slow down the leaking but now I am stuck with a $1500-$2000 repair bill eventually. This just goes to show what type of mechanics they have there. They work on 6 figure German cars daily and cannot complete a simple oil change. I would like management or ownership to contact me regarding this for a peaceful resolution. UPDATE 2/28/17- I have reached out to a manager and I am hopeful for a resolution soon.

When we purchased a new car at Basney (July 2015), our salesman gave us information that we later found out was completely untrue. First, he told us that there were no improvements between the 2014 and 2015 models of the car we were considering. We had researched the 2015 model and knew it had the features we wanted. We took his word that the 2014 model was the same. We later found that there had been a very substantial change between models. Second, when considering the car we noticed it had no spare tire. We asked about this. We were told that it did not need a spare because it had run-flat tires. When I got a flat tire two months later, I discovered that it did not have run-flat tires. Since it also did not have a spare, I had to get it towed. We contacted Basney BMW about these concerns. They have opted to ignore us. The salesman lied about the car and now the dealership don't even have the decency to apologize.

My car overheated today on I-80, about 20 miles from South Bend. I called and spoke with Dean and he suggested that I have the car towed in and they would look at it today and try to fix it if possible. When I arrived at 3:00 pm with my car, they quickly brought the car into the service bay and had their mechanic, Howard, waiting to work on it. He quickly diagnosed it as a failed water pump. Dean told me that their shop normally closes at 5:00pm but that he thought Howard could get it done by then (in 2 hours). I know that it is a fairly extensive job, and I was pessimistic that he could get it done by 5:00pm. But, sure enough, they had it ready and I was back on the road by 4:50pm, I was amazed! Thank you Dean, Greg, Howard and everyone else at Basney...you are great! Keep up the great work.

My vehicle had overheated due to a worn water pump and consequently disengaging belts. As I was left stranded on my way back to DC from Chicago, every single member of the Basney team (with VERY special mention to my service advisor Dean Wirth) treated me with empathy and dignity. Dean and my service technician Justin made sure I understood the nature and root cause of the breakdown, and given my circumstances being out of town, made my case a priority to get me back on the road and home. Brought in my 2006 BMW M6 to be serviced. The car has less than 50, 000 miles on it and the service department told me I need a new DSC unit costing $5000. BMW parts just fail for no reason as this car sits in my garage. Service manager compared my car (a $100, 000 car) to a BMW 3 series that he days never has anything wrong with his car after 200, 000 miles. Well good four you. I over paid and now they want me to buy a $5000 part that is a common failure... F that! BMW has no compassion they just want your money

I have no reservations in taking my new 2018 Mazda and leaving it in their hands, because I know it will be treated and serviced as professionally as it gets folks. You can count on them to get it done correctly, no question about it. It bears mentioning the 2018 I just referenced is my second new car purchase from Basney. I have been nothing but frustrated with this company. My 2007 Mini Cooper was leaking oil and the check engine light was on. Took the car in and they repaired everything that they said was wrong with it. The car ran well for a couple of weeks but started leaking again so I took it in when I had the extra money the next month and they said that it needed something different this time. It's puzzling to me that they would have missed so many things that were wrong with the car when they had a a few weeks prior. They fixed it and I got my car back. When I got my car back, the latch to the hood was broken and the hood could not be opened. Nobody informed me of this so I'm glad that I noticed it on my own. I called them and they did fix this for free but it shouldn't have happened in the first place. It is a few weeks later and my car still isn't running like it should and leaks occasionally. After spending 2,600 dollars and getting my valve cover gasket, spark plug tube seals, spark plugs, coils, thermostat, water pump, and a couple other things replaced, my car still doesn't run properly and I am currently looking into another place to take it. The staff is friendly to your face and I do like how they talk to their customers with respect but it's what's going on when I'm not there that I'm worried about. I do not recommend Basney BMW.

I went to my credit union to get pre-approved before I went in. Unbenounces to them I already had the money and I good idea of which vehicle I wanted. As soon as a wakes in a man the gray hair and a gray beard looked me up and down like I didn’t belong there. After a short and awkward pause he asked me half heartly what could he help me with! I don’t know if it was because I am Black or that I pulled up in a Chevy Cruze or both, but I had the funds! You never know what people have, and no one deserves to be treated like that! I wouldn’t have gone to a BMW dealership if I couldn’t afford one! Some on these sales people tend to forget that they aren’t selling anything unique. I can get a BMW anywhere!

Went in a few months back to look for a Locking Lock Lug Nug safe key because I had lost the original one to my car. They didn’t have the size for my 328i so I waited and let time pass by and I called again yesterday only for the worker to have no idea what I was talking about and said they didn’t have them. I live about 45+ minutes for this dealership and it’s the only BMW dealership nearby so making a drive again all the way over there was the last thing I want to do AGAIN. I Told the guy over the phone I went in before already and all they did was check a bin to see if they have a 23 spine lock nug. Guy kept insisting they never carry that and I have to go to a BMW dealership. But you guys are a BMW dealership??? And I went in before once and you guys had them just not my size? You’re telling me you can’t check the bin to see if they finally got one for my size? You’ll make more progress with the internet than going all the way over there just to be overpriced.

We went in on a Saturday and it was chaotic at the dealer since they had some sort of special going on. We did get a sales person after a couple of minutes, he got the car we wanted to test drive and a couple of hours later we were driving off in our new Mazda. Basney Mazda has been taking care of my car for 5 years. They have a good snack selection in the waiting room and, if the appointment will take awhile, a prompt shuttle service with a wonderful driver. On my last trip they said my front brake pads had to be replaced and rotors cleaned. When I picked the car up, Kenny said they ended up needing to replace the rotors but they didn't charge me extra.

Shawn, Tim, Chad, and the rest of the team did a great job making my experience smooth and pleasant. I started at another dealership (rhymes with lurley geep), and was overwhelmed by the high pressure and intimidation practices used to try and get me to commit. I’m glad Shawn convinced me to hold off and come see the comparable Mazdas in person before committing. I wanted to go new with a CX-5 at first, but decided to go with a 2016 CX-5 instead. Shawn did a great job helping me find the right fit for me in my budget. The finance process was much smoother here, and I was able to get a better rate on a used car than I was being offered for new ones elsewhere. I would recommend for anyone to stop by Basney before committing elsewhere.

Not my best BMW experience. Compared to Chicago's Laurelton BMW these guys are less than friendly. Service is always backed up when I call, and frankly I just do not feel valued as a customer when I have gone here. Sorry guys but my money spends anywhere and it is obvious from your deportment you just do not want mine. Laurelton is 2 hours away and the experience (courtesy, professionalism, integrity and congenial happy staff) is such I will continue to make the trek.

Thank goodness for Basney BMW auto service center. Driving back to Chicago from a weekend trip in Michigan, our X3 “died” when stopping for fuel. It was just before 5pm (eastern time) After a few local calls to mechanics, (all closing up for the day) we kept hearing “no one around here works on imports” really? We then called BasneyBMW, lucky for us it was only 4pm there. I spoke to Dean Wirth, one of the service managers. He assured us that they would look at our car first thing in the morning, ( even thought we didn’t have an appointment. ). We had the car towed from St. Joe to South Bend, then drove home in a rental car, with fingers crossed. By the following afternoon, Dean reported back that our car needed a starter motor, (our BMW X3 has over 100,000 m) but they had the part and would have it repaired by end of day. They even checked out the entire car, washed it and gave us a full report. Our bill was exactly as quoted and our car runs great. We couldn’t be more pleased with Dean and Basney BMW. Thanks again.

These guys are the real deal! From start to finish, a total class act! Everyone at Basney from Chris Egan, to both of the Chad's are super friendly, helpful, honest, funny and they beat the snot out of any Chicagoland dealer. No games and total honesty are rare in this industry but Basney BMW does both. Never tried to upsell, didn't try to hide any fees, just total transparency. After working out the details remotely, I took a train ride to South Bend and was in and out in less than 30 minutes. I have purchased a lot of cars and this was the easiest deal ever. I have to say that even including my train ride and the drive back I can almost guarantee that I still saved time versus the time it would have taken negotiating with the dealers in the Chicagoland area...and the train ride was pleasant to boot. Anyways, if you are within a day or two drive, I think it is well worth it to shop Basney BMW. You will not be disappointed with how you are treated. I am sure I will be a return customer too.

I had made an appointment over a week ago to get a new stretch belt on my AC unit so my AC would work. When I arrived for my appointment they had to see if they had the part. Then called another place to see if they had the part. They had to order the part, and it won't be in until Monday. Because I am out of town on business during the week I can't come back in until 2 weeks from today. So I made an appointment just to order a part? They had my make, model, and all the other information they needed over a week ago. Do you think someone can do their job and see if the part is going to be in stock prior to an APPOINTMENT over a week in advance shows up? I don't know maybe that is too hard for some people. Especially in the notes section tells you exactly what your going to want done. Pretty sure a 13 year old could figure that out. However, with no competition in the area I'm sure your used to being lazy and incompetent. For Future miss haps with this, I will purposely go to another town to get my BMW worked on. Even if I have to go to "Dreyer and Reinbolt" down in Indianapolis.

Botched work from the body shop. Car came back dusty and dirty. They forgot to tighten the clamp for the radiator hose. Also left wires off their clips so they were hanging loosely. One rubbed on the radiator fan. I scheduled it to come back. After 3 calls they were able to fit me in to fix issues. Basically came down to alignment and putting wires back on clips. Told me it would be a hour long. Currently been in waiting room for 3hrs. Wasted time. Oh well. Gave me plenty of time to write this review.

Better than the BEST!!! Here you go---I had a small mechanical problem over the weekend with my car. I showed up without an appointment ( a bit inconsiderate on my part but I figured it was worth a try) and the service staff stopped what they were doing to take a look at the car. I was pleasantly greeted and waited in the lovely office at Basney for 25-30 minutes enjoying the free coffee and comfortable seating area. I was professionally greeted by 2 people during my wait to see if they could be of any additional assistance. The service manager informed me after 15 minutes that the car could be repaired and offered a complimentary loaner car if I needed to get back to work. I was not in a hurry so I declined the generous offers. Within 30 minutes, my car was repaired AND WASHED!!! For the past 25 years, I had previously bought all of my cars from another German auto dealer in town and I can tell you that the customer service at BASNEY is unbeatable! These people value your business!! I wouldn't go back to the other guys if they paid me!! Well done TEAM BASNEY!!

My wife and I experienced a mechanical problem while traveling and our GPS told us there was a BMW dealer 10 minutes away. We arrived at 8:30 AM and left at 6:30 PM. While we were just there to get a second key for our 2013 Mazda 5 (recently purchased from another dealer, and which only came with one key!?) we had a pleasant first experience with Basney BMW Mazda. Our service person was pleasant and professional. He explained the process, and invited us to wait in the customer lounge, which was clean and comfortable--nice chairs, good snacks and drinks and a good selection of reading materials. The process of cutting and programming the key, plus the free car wash, was a good experience for us, and only took a little over an hour. Thanks for the good service.

The Basney BMW are nice and work performed is acceptable. Patrick Austin is superbly helpful. The scheduling of service is pathetic not because of Patrick , but because of the way that recalls are handled at the cost of timely delivery of service to owners that need repairs. Twice now in the last four months I have been told that service will need to be scheduled in two weeks because of the backlog of BMW recalls. Twice the car has had the check engine light on. I call and am told it will be two weeks. This is totally unacceptable. I probably will never buy a BMW again, even though it is a good car, because of the lousy servicing schedule. Again this is not Patrick’s fault he is s great person. It is because of a philosophy of putting new cars first and ones a few years old last. If I do not get check engine light fixed BMW will say I didn’t follow the schedule and I could have warranty problems. Yet when I call Basney BMW they cannot schedule car for repair because of recalls, thus dooming my car to have more problems or fail.. I am happy with car, happy with service when it is done, however am severely unhappy with how service is not provided in a timely manner.

I also don't know if this is their fault, but no one can get my BMW to align correctly and no one seems to want to try.

Not even sure where to begin. Bought a 650i Gran Coupé 30 days ago from an Audi dealer (lease trade in). Tires were new, only 24k when i bought it. After a few weeks of driving the parking sensor started to constantly beep. I brought it in to be looked at and asked for them to just look over the car to see if it's in good shape. It's a BMW, not a Hyundai, it should be kept nice. I also asked for it to be run through the car wash because I am trying to keep it in good shape. Apparently the valve stem had started to leak. It took them a week to diagnose and fix the parking sensor and they somehow broke the tire pressure sensor while they were fixing the valve stem. I figured since it took so long they would have the car ready when I picked it up. The car was outside, covered in snow. I had to sweep it off and got soaked on the way back to a meeting. Also, somehow they did 55 miles of "road testing" at 12 miles per gallon. Oh, and the back seat was folded down for some reason. No acceptable level of service provided. I was hoping to build a good relationship with the BMW dealership in the area. One that a friend said provided great service. I would've had a better experience at a Jiffy Lube.

I’ve been going to others for BMW Service, and while they were ok, I often felt disappointed when I picked my car up. Other service places weren’t able to reset the service computer, they often left the seats dirty etc. I decided to go to Basney for an oil change. I was surprised that the oil change was the same price, but the service exceeded my expectations. Check in and checkout is easy. The waiting area is clean with lots of coffee choices. Attention to detail is throughout the store, a monitor in the customer waiting room allows the guest to see the status of the car and when it’s finished. Bathrooms are spotless, guest service is helpful and respectful. I can’t think of a reason to go anywhere else.

I brought my car to get an oil change (indicated by my car) and made an appointment. They were running behind. I offered to run errands and come back. My service guy said that wasn't necessary. After an hour I asked how much longer the oil change would be. He said they hadn't started on the car yet. Ugh. Very frustrating. 2hour experience hat should have been 30-45 min. Nice people. Not very organized, clearly. Be very specific and ask for less busy times if you need service.

Over $1100 They replaced the fuel pump, I knew the battery was fine I got it new a couple months ago After they replaced the fuel pump Later, they said the starter has to be replace too, another$700 I took my car to another shop Neither the battery or the starter was bad It was a electrical problem Who knows if the the fuel pump was good too That's to bad they take advantage of people!

My 2015 BMW was in an accident in April of 2018. The damage involved replacing the right door skin and mirror, the right fender and repairing a vibration that I described to them in detail. I picked my car up just before closing on the day they said it would be ready [after 15 business days]. There were 7 [seven] major things wrong: the new mirror did not adjust at all, a windshield moulding piece was missing, the vibrations while turning remained, the automatic window control reacted crazily, there was an air leak around the window, the door did not close properly and the fender had a faint 8"X6" blue spot on the black paint! UNACCEPTABLE Next they had it for 5 1/2 business days to fix the above problems. They replaced the LEFT wheel bearing and made repairs to the mirror wiring harness [a new one was only available in Germany]. I got the car back to find the vibrations remained and a rubber boot for the wiring harness not reinstalled. Next, after I took the technician on a test drive, they replaced the RIGHT front wheel bearing. One more business day. WOW, I don't think i will be going back there again! Attention to detail is far from their strong suit. EXTREMELY DISAPPOINTED

Typically when you walk onto a car lot in the South Bend/Mishawaka area and start browsing the cars, you will be approached by a rep asking if you need assistance within the first minute or two. Evidently you don't want our business. We arrived around 7pm (you are open until 8 on Thursdays) & were completely ignored. One of your reps finally got up from his desk at the front window, looked me in the face & never even stepped a foot near the door, let alone came out to help us. IF we come back & decide to give you another chance, I will remember that man's face & will not do business with him. If there was another Mazda dealer in the area, I wouldn't even consider coming back at all!

Dear Friends, I found my recent trip to Basney BMW for service was exceptional. I went because my computer indicated an air pressure drop in one of my tires. Usually this means nothing more than a change in the weather. Not so this time. The Basney service men found a huge nail in the tire, removed it and repaired the tire, washed the car and had me sign for the work, but did not charge me. This was my first luxury brand purchase and it was an excellent experience. I found my salesman, Joe Norton, very knowledgeable, pleasant, unassuming, accommodating, and straight talking. Essentially, he let the car sell itself (which it did very easily - LOVE my car). There is an ugly review from a few years back on here, but I will tell you that my experience was nothing but positive. Basney was competing with a 100 mile radius of BMW dealers via online searches and they were very competitive price wise. After the sale, I have asked several questions of Joe as well as asked for a few modifications in how the plate and insurance would be handled and I received the same excellent service even though they already had a signed contract. Overall the experience was great. My car looks amazing, and they returned it to me washed and clean inside and out. Customer service is great too. I scheduled Enterprise to pick me up 15 minutes after drop off, because I didn't know how long it would take. I had to wait at the shop, until one of the employees saw me waiting, and called them for me to have them come pick me up sooner so I didn't have to wait any longer.
